Now very overgrown and hard to find. Still worth a visit to look Helena Bay from the carpark.
robertot, we didn’t find your cache today. Sorry, but it wasn’t for lack of trying though! Looked everywhere but no luck today.
Waded through a lot of grass, tried multiple trees, unable to find, beautiful place to visit though
Took a bit of time to locate this one with Vistra. We had waded through the long grass and ducked under a few branches before Vistra shouted "Yep" and had the cache in hand.
3 trees later we finally managed to get our frail late 60's bodies to the right place where being a bit taller would have helped. TFTC
Tftc! Cache is still in good condition. Exactly 1 year since last found. And by coincidence by someone with a similar username as ours! lol
Took a while to find as the GPS would not settle. But eventually the cache was in hand. Went for a road trip since there is a souvenir available today. TFTC.
Nice find while in the area with tmann421 today
Enjoying the trip north and the caches
Signed log as tm/ww NZ

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
*We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.*
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!
TFTC
*Took quite a bit of searching but the hiding location was found.*

What a great trek! Kids had fun in the long grass! Wasn't that easy but perseverance paid off!

March was a busy month and whenever it was possible I went for a cache
Had been to Auckland Whangarei, Hamilton, Russell and other places...
But only today I have time to log them - and I not remember the dates when I have picked up which cache
That’s some bay and beach, went up to GZ and had the previous log in mind.... stretching , yeah and found it - really nice!

Indeed, it took a while of searching. I almost gave up. But in the end I tracked the cache down. Guess it was an advantage to be 191cm... I found some other stuff as well. And, no, this is not the cache...
Found on drive to Russell. A lovely beach - though the sun was a bit harsh.

Picked up with Ilmari the Red on a scenic detour between Auckland and Russell. What a gorgeous beach! Thanks for bringing us to this spot. Favourite. TFTC
Was sent up this way for work. We left Tauranga at 7am this morning and had a look at the site before doing the important stuff like geocaching.
This was the closest cache and will quite possibly be my most northern find in NZ for some time.
The find was quick and easy so we spent time absorbing the stunning beach view before we headed back to our accommodation for some rest.
Thanks for bringing me here.

I'm visiting NZ for 7 weeks and I've rented a car, making it easy to go geocaching. Today I drove from Paihia to Whangarei, via Russel and the coast. I had no idea it was soo beautiful here. It took forever to get to Whangarei, I had to stop for photos (and geocaches) every 5 minute. This is why I love geocaching, if it wasn't for all the caches that's placed here, I wouldn't have seen this part of the country.
About this cache:
Another beautiful beach. Walked past some muggles who were eating their dinner ouside their campervans, they probably tought I was going to the toilet in the bush. A great place to spend the night. The cache was quickly found. Tftc

We were unable to find this a couple of years ago but were determined this time around...after reading the hint correctly, was an easy find!
Slipped into a hole with my food while reaching for it, but got it in the end.

Managed to stop off to look for this one between the squally showers, which had made the long grass very wet....!!! Having now found the cache, I might have tried a little less wet approach. Certainly appreciated the heater in the car afterwards... TFTC
Stopped for lunch in this beautiful spot and turned phone on to find we were a few metres from a cache. Lovely spot, tftc
Today was another nice day for our holiday trip in new zealand were we of course also found some caches along the way.
Today we took a trip from round kerikeri.
This is one of them. thank you for maintaining this cache.
took a trackable with me.

Wonderful view from here. This area could possibly be in my top 10 favorite locations. dropped off travel bug.
We headed out this way for a day of geocaching. Beautiful views, lovely weather and a fun outing. Easily found the cache and some other information nearby that was needed. Thanks for bringing us here
Went to try and find this however with the tree in full bloom it was full of swarming bees gave it a miss
I should have noted the suggestion given in an earlier log regarding not wearing jandals. While slipping and sliding in the long grass around the tree my jandals eventually gave up the fight and broke...great! Carried on in bare feet and eventually found the cache nicely tucked away. Tftc
Wow. Gorgeous. A bit of a mission up the hill checking out all the trees on the way (the compass in the App for iPhone 6 doesn't work so well) but found and scrambled about to retrieve, sign and return. Hint: don't wear jandels. Another hint: stop to admire the views!
TFTC!!

That's the longest grass I've ever walked through!
Great location - and 4 dolphins appeared in the sea for a while

Found as part of my Post Mega northen road trip. Really enjoyed a part of the country I hadn't seen before. Thanks to all those who have placed cacahes to encourage us southerners to come your way!
#6248. It was hard work wading through the grass uphill (had to be careful not to turn an ankle). Glad of the shade at GZ for our search. TFTC.
There were a couple of camper vans parked nearby but they ignored us, luckily. It was really hard walking uphill through the grass - never experienced grass like this before. TFTC.
Haha. As suspected there were actually 2 containers. The new one up higher and the old one sitting out in clear view on the ground beside the tree. So we put both log books in the new higher container as this was the one which has been found more recently like everyone this year.
we are beginning to wonder from the comments if there are now 2 caches there, the original and the replacement....must go and check very soon. In the meantime it should make it easier to find..one or the other.
Found with goldielover. Such a beautiful spot, so we didn't mind spending a while in the wrong spot. The co-ords that worked better for us were S 35 25.999 E 174 21.638

Found with stairman1. What an amazing place for a cache. Loved this area. TFTC
Found the cache during a nice drive throw the amazing landscape of the Northern Island. We stayed over night here. It was perfect: romantc, lonley and we had a nice weather. Thank you very much.
Cache is located at the base of the tree in eye level. Cooords are 10 meters off.
16.30: On the way from Snells Beach to Paihia - intentionally detouring along the coast. No luck at this one today. Lots of possible hideaways and also the terrain wasn't as easy as it seemed to be when looking[8)] from the car park.
Wheelchair: no, grassy, soggy slope, but close enough to view.
Anyway, thank you for showing this place!

this is the second time we have looked for the cache and have not found it .... however, I see robertot has placed it at a higher level, maybe we should look higher another time ....
All present and correct including the parrot TB..Had Russell School forgotten his specs? It was a little parrot. We have moved it closer to Russell so he can have another look at it!
Got soaked wading about in the wet grass. Very soggy under foot after 20 minutes we were soaked and had had enough. Shame, as the parking spot and beach were lovely. Thanks anyway. CBE from England touring Northlands in a VW camper.
Parrots are the preferred pets of pirates! so we just had to stop by and visit this beautiful parrot in his perch by the sea.... once we located his tricky hidden nest!
We couldn't find it either so have placed a new container at a higher level and containing a lovely parrot TB as an enticer.
Will take a look in the next few days and see if it's missing or just hard to find
Not found on our tour of Northland from Te Anau with The Italian Job from Auckland. TFTC
We gave it a good look. Not found with 'Kev & Chris' from Te Anau. The Italian Job was here....!
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
Went for a drive up North whilst visiting family in Whangarei. Took them geocaching with us.
Initially struggled to find this one, but a fresh pair of eyes joined in and found it straight away!
Was interesting to watch gannets diving so close to shore while we were here.
Nice spot, TFTC.

Man that grass is hard to walk in and wet underfoot. The hide beat us today. Beautifyl spot though.
No worries finding the cache,a bit of a geo trail through the grass, working just around the next bay on a "bit" of a bach being built.TFTC.
Grabbing a few caches on our first venture out to this part of the coast. Will be back for more in the summer! T4TC! Took Pathtag, left GC.
Working on your multi but will likely not finish it today. You have picked great spots so far and if we had known about that amazing art gallery and wonderful cafe sooner it would have saved us from garlic infused pita pockets from Hikurangi 4 Square for lunch. PINO TFTC
Beautiful place. Just loved a short stroll along the beach after lunch today. Most enjoyable.
Lots of people about today, it must be the great weather...I had to wait for a picnicking couple to move on before I could start my hunt. Quickly found once I looked at the correct tree, a pencil sharpener on the ground was a help also. Signed log and replaced the pencil sharpener. Thanks for this one.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, Saw the New Year in with Fire works and in the morning a pod of Bottlenose Dolphins at the beach we were camping!! Wonderful start to the new year and a Beautiful day!!
Stopped here on the way out to Rawhiti. Was raining and was looking for the wrong cache, decided to push on through. Realised we looked at the wrong info when we got to our destination. Nice easy find, in plain view as not many would come out this way.

Found with Riser5. 2nd attempt proved more rewarding with much more enjoyable weather. A few muggles around the place but no interuptions.
Now we've been here, does that mean the rain will stop? Apart from the long wet grass, this was a straightforward find. TFTC

A quiet time of year but still someone in the car park and had to come back later. We are blessed with a graet bit of coastline. TFTC
