The pathway is currently seriously flooded and I wouldn't want anyone attempting to get this cache at the moment. It will be seriously underwater and most likely floated away. Will replace as soon as the water goes down. It's been here for many years with no troubles, which just shows you how high the river currently is!
What a nice place. Would be great to camp here but is not allowed. Have to pay the moneygrabbers in town!!!!
This weekend is my last chance to access the vault for the Mystery at the Museum. So a road trip was in order. Accompanied by my mugglish hubby and by Saethwr we set off on a circuit to the north as locking are slim to the in any other direction.
Overshot the turnoff to here so back tracked a bit. Across the ford, along another track ans walked from a big pothole.
Read the hint and soon had it in hand. Was sitting on the ground and is damp inside. Replaced in the fork up off the ground a little bit.
Thanks for the smilie KiwiGeoswami.

Another hiking day together with D4nielB. Today we made it from Te Anau to Rainbow Reach via Kepler Track and back on the other side of the river via Lake2Lake Cycle Track. Great hike with many impressions to take back home.
This was another easy find on our way.

Today Jul1ane and me did a 35km hike from Te Anau via the control gates and Kepler Track to Rainbow Reach and back along the Lake2Lake Cycle track. It was awesome weather for this tour, and on the route we even found quite a few geocaches.

I was taking a break in Te Anau for a couple of days, in between hiking the Rakiura and Kepler Tracks. I spent today doing a few short walks and finding a few caches in the greater Te Anau area. Took a drive out to this cache and made a quick find at GZ. TFTC!
Peaceful walk from the main road. Could be a park and grab with the right sort of vehicle. TFTC
Today we are driving from Te Anau north along the road towards Milford Sound and back. We are visiting from Toronto ON Canada to spend 24 days with our daughter who lives in Wellington NZ. Quick stop at GZ. Found at 2:36 PM. Thank you KiwiGeoswami for placing and maintaining this cache.
We have found this cache during our holiday in New Zealand. Greetings from Czech republic
On a quick holiday in Te Anau, haven't been this way for many years. Thanks for the caches and I look forward to coming back again soon. Apologies for the generic logging.
Beautiful afternoon to head out and locate a few caches. I walked from the parking lot on the gravel bit, while a family where heading out on their bikes. Nice to see the area being utilised. No one at gz when I got there. TFTC!!

Day 3 of our south of south NZ caching blitz being shown around by kiwigeoswarmi and granville86a. Great to nave the local knowledge to find these spots. Always good to find a cache quickly when the CO is watching on! Tftc
Found alongside Hevic, silvachief, and jaycie on our Fiordland trip. Though the weather was dry, we opted to take a walk to the cache from a nearby parking spot. It took silvachief and I a bit of effort to find and eventually sign, but find and sign we did. Meanwhile, Hevic and jaycie were over by the river checking out nature and all its wonders, particularly the river flow. Enjoyed this cache quite a bit. Cheers!
Got it this time, was flooded last time I was searching. Geohound having a great time and nearly bowled me over when I was nearing cache site. Good cache.
Nice spot near river. Thanks for the cache. Great to do some caches when visiting from Aust.
Getting late in the day and after passing some workmen digging along some of the new cycletrail where it meets the road, drove right out to where the track loops around the GZ. Followed the hippo trail and but cache wasn't quickly in hand. Nice camo, it was hard to spot in the crook. I SL while the little woman changed the bag. TFTC
Its a 3 week expedition, with The Seagnoid and Zara, round the South Island. Rakiura Walkway, my objective, is bagged, so its homeward bound the long way round. Its day 16 of our journey, Manapouri to Te Anau via Milford.
Lots of facilities here but no people. Maybe its just too early - but its such a beautiful day. Snagged and tagged another one. Cheers

Turned out to be a great weekend for the fishing competition, so a few boats and muggles around, but still managed to find this with no one around. TFTC
Traveling to Milford Sound with Loth. We started in Wanaka, stopped in Queenstown for a Fergburger and continued to the Fjordlands. Tftc!
A jet boat had just pulled up at the ramp area not far away as we arrived. Quick find - tftc
I parked the car and in the big car park and it was momentarily disconcerting to see the river "on the wrong side and flowing the wrong way". A moment later I concluded that there was a big loop in the river. A nice little walk to the cache which was quickly found.
Great spot. Watched a helicopter flying someone off the Kepler Challenge. Hope its not Mr Howonearth. Quick find. Thanks.

We had basically given up on this one when we got to less than a kilometer and couldn't find a road to the cache. We headed on our way back to Te Auna to find another cache when I spotted the road sign for the boat landing. I scared my wife with my sudden braking and turn! We had no problem getting down to the cache and making the find, however, a pile of loose river rocks put some definite marks on the bumper of the rental car when we pulled out. Hopefully they will be feeling forgiving when we bring it back or this might be an expensive cache!
Got about 37m from where I thought cache might be, but didn't feel like going for a paddle to find it. Geohound was having a great time. Will come back another day
Tried for this one 2 days earlier but couldn't get near as river too high. As it was I still had to do a bit of wading but cache high and dry and right where it should be.
