Up this way again with ABCDF4

Family were all busy on Christmas Day so decided to treat myself to a day caching. This was the 2nd for the day. Quickly found and signed. Thank you for the placement.
This one for sure needs maintenance. Found what appeared to be part of the cache container seperate to the log - which was wet in a ripped bag. We wrote on it as best we could, put it in a new bag and then secured it as bat we could. Thanks for the smiley though .
I did the nice series at Wades Walkway, then walked over a nice boardwalk, did the cache there as well, had a look at the new subdivision with lots of black houses (!) and then decided to walk to this cache. It must have been a quiet rural area once, but now it feels like walking at the motorway wth all these trucks passing by.
Nice and easy find at GZ, but the lower part of the container is missing and the log is quite wet and also full. I managed to sign somewhere inbetween and put the whole cache in a place a little more sheltered from the rain. Just centimeters.

As I was approaching I saw the lovely little brick building at the pony club and thought that was where I was supposed to go so pulled over. Then I read what I was supposed to do. Easy find but cache not in its original condition. Still good even though it hasn't been found in almost a year. TFTC # 16,965
Not crazy about the location of this one but certainly it's own thing. Can confirm it's still here!
Parked in the side street, and then walked down the barrier to GZ.
Quickly retrieved cache from its hiding place, cache all good.
Thanks for the hide WackyB and the history of the brick works

The first time we attempted this was a few years ago when we were geocaching amateurs. Taken awhile to get back here but now a very easy find. Dot day filled.
We needed a cache today to fill in a dot day. Purply had a cricket game in Clevedon this morning. So after the game we headed out. This turned out to be a quick park and grab. The log is wet and mouldy so it was hard to find a space to sign. Changed the plastic bag to try and prevent further damage. Found with purply and darthcacher1. TFTC.
After dropping off my host kid in school I used the wonderful weather to do little Geocaching Tour. Happy, that I found all the Caches I tried!
Logbook is fully soaked!
Thanks for hiding!

Out with cragger, laval and NZIceman for some caching today. Headed out in the general Maraetai and Beachlands direction to collect a few to clear the map and one specific one in Duders Park to tick a box in my D/T grid.
This was first of the day and a nice quick find although almost impossible to sign log as it is water damaged .
Thanks for the cache.

I quite like caches based at historic little forgotten spots like this one. Back over Christmas we did a couple of caches based at former brickworks based in Taranaki so glad to have the chance to add another one here. Parked up safely with Bennett24 and scampered off to GZ to see if we could make a quick find.
At GZ I was pleased to find the partially hidden marker placed to observe the history of the area and had a quick skim of the info before heading to the most likely spot for a cache and made a quick easy find. Quickly wrote our names in before we retreated to the car to head off for delicious Thai dinner in Botany Junction.
Thanks for the cache, could use a new log book at some point.

Quick stop to grab this one with tuolei; we noticed the marker here with the history of the area and indeed there seems to be still quite a few relics of the brickworks still strewn around the pathway we walked along earlier in the day. Cache found but log is in quite bad shape so was hard to sign. TFTC.
On an early morning caching mission, 2 of the clan hatched a plan to make an early morning trip north and to find enough caches to qualify for the Planetary Pursuit. Careful planning was made and we had a very enjoyable hunting out the caches. Thanks also go out to all the cache owners who have placed and maintained the caches.
Tried a couple of years ago in the rain to find this but had no luck. Back out in the rain today, parked safely at the bottom, read the plaque and this time made a quick find. I had not seen those containers back then.
Merlot58, Aiden29 and ourselves headed out to the east again today to go and find some rural caches and catch up with Pazzabella and Geocchi to capture some caches in the Clevedon Reserve. After wards and after lunch we did a few more in the area. Parked nearby and then approached GZ from behind the barrier.
I needed to find a cache today to keep up my daily caching streak. But it is very hard to be motivated to get out there and find one when it is absolutely teeming down with torrential rain. And so it is within these conditions that I set my sights on this particular one. Once arriving at GZ, and parking safely off to the side of the road, I noticed the historical plate on the post that complimented the title of this cache and the description nicely. Once I arrived at GZ, this was a nice quick find as it had fallen out of place. And so I took it back to the car to sign the log. Once done I placed it back where I think it was intended to be in the first place. So thank you WackyB for taking the time to set this one up. Nice!
The cache was in position but a bit scattered. I put it together as best I could. TFTC
Really cool to read about the Brickworks thankyou ....
Sadly the awesome cache was in bits all over the ground ...
Just propped it up in barrier behind a stone with 2 plastic bags with logs in them ...
Not sure where it was supposed to be attached .

After finishing work commitments for the day, I headed East to find a few more caches before dinner. Cache is not at 'attractive' as it once was. Also there was no log book. I left a temporary log with the cache. TFTC, Biggles.
I never knew there were brickworks here. A nice quick find on our drive out to Omana
Another park and grab on the way to our event at Omana. Was interested to learn about the history of this location as I am very familiar with the Blind Foundation building.
Out and about today picking up specific caches for my current geolicence. This was the first find of the day and a nice quick spot once I had walked down from the parking spot, TFTC!
We parked at the top of the hill and headed down the side of the road to GZ. There had been a lot of rain over the past few days so things were a bit sloshy underfoot but we enjoyed the challenge and crossed the path of a surprising number of skinks along the way.
At GZ we spotted the hide but waited for a gap in the passing traffic before making the find.
Great views. TFTC

Out and about today while the rain hold off. Nice quick find. Log nice and dry. TFTC.
Great find it was my fist kiwi cache and Doofus1301. I would recommend parking at the bottom end of the guard rain. But have fun!

Out with lokky1 for the day. Heading towards beachlands for a change and stopped off on the way! Quick find by lokky! Tftc
991, closest cache I have ever found to where I live! We live just above this cache in the White House. TFTC
Super quick find, spotted as we approached, which was good as it's cold and wet right now! TFTC

It was a perfect winter's day today, and I had nothing to do, so why not go caching? Took a drive out to one of my favourite places, Maraetai Beach. This was my first stop along the way. I had no idea there used to be brickworks here. Cool camo- I've found a few of there caches before, always appreciate them!

Todays goal was to collect remaining caches we needed to complete our GLCS07 Licence Challenge.
4.30pm - Able to park right beside this one. I Read plaque while Squirrel got cache so another not chosen cache for today. SLTFTC

Heading north with a mission... Find caches that are listed as 'large' and 'not chosen' size-wise... With Gap (of Fap and Gap).
Another very narrow roadside park... Luckily the road was not too busy, though I imagine vehicles must really motor through here. It's hard to imagine a brickworks in the vicinity. The cache on the other gand, was a quick find... TFTC.

The smarties have done it again!!! Very clever hiding spot, we enjoyed this cache
Out for the day in the Whitford/Beachlands area, collecting a few caches to assist us with the requirements for our GIO Licence.
A quick driveby find. Even found a park right next to it - without even trying!

Parked somewhere close to cache. Brickworks seem to be here and over where I
live in west Auckland.

A quick find with alpenmilch80 and funkymunkyzone on the way back to the city after hunting down a newly published cache in Beachlands.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Found as part of team Stik-a-crane now logging under my own name. I was there to make the find but want to create a map and history of my own unique kind.
interesting about the places the bricks have been used and what industries existed and in what places in the past who would have known (not me)
After driving to the suggested parking we decided to park at the bottom to look like we were "reading the brick works sign" .... thought we had GZ narrowed down fairly early but the description of seen while walking no need for poking and proding lead us to widen our search .... after returning to our original GZ Mrs quickly spotted it (seen these before) it fell out onto road side of barrier when going for the retrieval but all in good condition and replaced in an appropriate spot.

Well after an initial DNF had been keeping an eye on this one. Noticing that someone had found it was enough incentive to stop whilst drivig home for another search. Parked at the bottom this time and cannot understand why I didn't see this the first time. Our gps coordinates were a little out but we came up trumps. Glad to have knocked this one off!!!! TFTC
After the last few logs we thought we might be unlucky, not so, this was a very easy find. The cache was exactly where the GPS directed us and the hardest part was deciding where to park the car. After a drive-by we decided to park lower down and what joy when we checked the GPS and found we had only 8m to go. Cache was neatly hidden and we hope we replaced it as we found it. Thanks WackyB but this is rather a dangerous road for pedestrians.
The last cache of the day. We couldn't find it and we couldn't blame the weather as urbangypsynz had. Also checked on the ground in case it had become dislodged. Will have another go and keep an eye on thia on case someone else's eyes are better than ours
In an attempt to close the loop on caches this afternoon, we thought we would try this one....
Mum and Dad walked up and down, and up and down, to locate this one... Sweat pouring off them, in the extremely hot humid day... the kids watched on - from the air conditioned car...
Mum and Dad looked where the hint suggested, but the ice blocks promised to the kids were more tempting and they eventually gave up!

Did not locate cache but not logging as a DNF because it was pouring down and I was soaked so could have looked harder, but just wanted to thank you for bringing me to this site, love these history caches. Going to Karangahake soon so relevant. Will try for cache again when next in area. Parked at top of hill by sign and started to walk down and a kind lady stoppec to ask if I had broken down:-)
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
We were out and about for a Sunday drive today, and a spot of caching out East. We parked right beside the plaque and soon found the cache in the pouring rain! TFTC!

a very dense muggle populated area, the cache has been camouflaged very creatively and require good eyes to spot, also the parking could be a bit dangerous as this is a 100km+ car speed road... be careful when searching for this cache
Found after a short search. I'd guess that the only people that get to read the historical plaque are geocachers.

No hints required here. Seen these sort before so the walk was longer than the find. TFTC!!!
Found with Geco72 during an evening caching raid. Wasn't expecting one of those out here. TFTC.
Bit of a walk on a buisy road but at least it wasn't a "mint tin" at the end lol, TFTC.
Certainly is a well used road. thanks for the historical information here - very interesting.
Lots of cars past this cache!!! Found it while on a bike ride. These are very cool magnetic cache's. More communities should have history posts. Thanks for making me stop.
