After the last event of the Mega this morning I decided to do a walk around Ross creek as it was a walk I enjoyed when I lived here around ten years ago. It was busy with families and dog walkers but I saw some tui and bellbirds and found some caches. This one was nicely disguised and I placed an unactivated trackable for someone to pick up. Tftc!
Down in Dunedin for the Mega this weekend with McJandals and NZFLOSSY. Signed the log sheet MDF Thanks for the cache.
Down here for the Dunedin Geo Toroa Event from the sunny Bay of Plenty,Tauranga and are with some of Team BoP. Great to get together with our fellow cachers. Signed Logs MDF. (McJandals,Davidson clan & NZ Flossy)I am logging using the Cachly App and using their template option which helps with my memory for logging. I genuinely thank every CO for their time and effort put into these caches. Much appreciated.
Down in Dunedin for the Mega event. Travelling with Davidsonclan and McJandals. Really fun to be out and about with the team and catching up with other cachers friends m everywhere. Thanks to all the organisers and all the COs for some great caches. It is certainly a lovely area of New Zealand TFTC
Spent a while looking from the wrong track lol. Really cool cache, the excellent camo makes it look like a cookie. Thanks!
On a roadie with kiscardi getting some caches for a challenge. A quick find. Thanks
On a roadie with Hal2929 today. We are both trying to complete a challenge requiring 100 caches from 100 different cache owners. Not so easy when you live in an area with only a dozen or so goecaching people placing caches. So Hal2929 found a good number of caches that neither of us had previously picked on earlier trips north. Thanks Katie w for placing and maintaining this cache so we could come and find today. Great day out in reasonable weather. We saw lots of amazing views and picked up lots of different CO's caches.
found this one with flossieteacake. we didn't anticipate how busy this path would be so we did have to wait a while to let people go past before we could quickly make the find and sign the log before continuing on to the reservoir. TFTC
We were on our way to Ross Creek to solve the puzzle cache, so parked up the hill and walked down. The gps was a bit slow so at first we had walked past it, but I had spotted a couple of possible hiding places. After a runner had gone past I went back to the most obvious place and as I was looking at one side GeohoundandI had found the cache at the other side. We had just about replaced the cache when dogs and their owners appeared from all directions.
Nice spot it was a bit easy and 4th Katie w find this week and 2nd today and now time for more
Out for a day of family walks and geocaching while we both have the day off. Amazing how many times we must have walked past this one. Nice hide, TFTC
Good camo. With my ex-muggle friend, out and about exploring the hills and geocaching our way back into town. Great hide. Thanks!
Threw out the junk, wiped the container and lid dry and cleaned the seals.
Then added a nice new Log book (waterproof paper) and pencils. Fresh cache note in new baggie, too.
This cache container has been in use for 12 years, is much admired, even if the camo is a bit mankey, it works.
Please do not smother in leaf litter, it just encourages capillary action.

Found the gap cache and picked up the heavily camo'd cache in deplorable condition. An older type lock'n'lock 1.2Lt sammy cache more suited the tussocks at the snow line than the rain forest of Ross Cr reservoir. Use TOTT to open the outer cache tabs and slosh slosh! water roiling around inside the box. Poured the water off and a rusty wet tin produced a damp unbagged logbook. Peeps had been signing the logbook from end to end so opened at the current page and initialed our visit. TNLN, seemingly the cache is favourite with the kiddyboos but nothing I had on me was waterproof. Returned the cache to hide with a bit more duff. Should have headed back to Helensburgh detouring around the golf course but took a drive around the Highgate precinct before for tea. *RTP 350pt (increased 25pt)*.tftc
A fun find on a family walk! Container was wet inside and missing a pen but we will return soon to put in a new bag for the log and a new pen. Tftc
First find of the the day.
Nice easy find (once my GPS started working) took trackable out and left some bracelets.

I'm visiting Dunedin for a week and a bit with my son. He's a swimmer and the 2019 National Division II Championships are on at Moana Pool starting on Wednesday. He is swimming in 8 events over the four days of competition and is hoping to make a few finals. We came a few days early to visit family and friends, and to have a few training swims in the pool. I'm sorry if this online entry is posted a few days late. My focus is on the swimming and I am hoping to find a few caches while I'm here... but will not be prioritising logging in to record them. Instead, my plan is to do them in batches when I have a few minutes of down time.
Actually, the paragraph above is slightly misleading because I found this one earlier today. I took Monty the dog on a long walk this morning from the house I'm staying at. We ended up turning around after finding this one and heading back. I'm getting a ride to the airport soon so there'll need to be a bit of jogging to make sure I can finish packing in time.
The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry. I discovered the TB, but did not take it.
Thank you

Looked in several places and soon made the find, well hidden. TB dropped. Tftc.
