488 finds 6:17 pm 2/5/2023While at the event tonight was told about this archived cache being just next to where we were sitting. Quickly signed the log then replaced it.TFTC
Was told during a nearby event that this might be still in play and so it was. Nice to find another archived cache. Thanks for placing it back then and for the hint that this is still available.
Found with greencordial shortly after completing “Fear Factor 5”. Couldn’t believe this was still here.
BenM70 told me about this one, I think to distract myself from the idea of greyfire falling to his death from FF5. I tried to look but got distracted whilst grey was up in the windy portion of the tree. When he was down half way, I went and searched. Much better hide than FF5 because I am brave enough to do this one ??????hahaha only kidding
TFTC ?? I got the heads up by a fellow geocacher that’s there was an archived cache to be found... how awesome is this!! I found it ~ Such a fantastic hiding spot, how on earth was this geocache archived?!? It’s brilliant; I’d give it a fave point if it weren’t archived.
Many thanks for the thrill of finding this cache in great condition too. Found with my Geo-munchkins MissCharlieBear & AmazingGracieGrace ????????
Signed log, took SWAG, left SWAG & RAF.

I searched for this cache before it was archived, but naughtily did not leave a DNF. Back then the Cycad was way out of control and a few of them were overlapping making when this was located an extremely nasty proposition to get to. I went down today to ponder FF5 again and saw how tidy the cycads were so i had a look and found the hide. It was a great spot, even better than i imagined it was. I thought the spiky cycads would be enough to hide this but it was even better than that. At least archived caches are still viewable if you hunt them down which is fairly easy via Project GC compare option and able to be logged, just not visible on the app. Thanks For the cache Fishabunga. It certainly was a good hide but the spikes made it a little treacherous. Not nice to cop one in the eye. I hope you didn’t accidentally archive it instead of a maintenance check.
Checked on this one today. The garden beds and rocks have been reconfigured.
Definitely no longer there.

18/11/2018 - We also think this cache might have gone "walk-about" as we couldn't find it!
Had a good long hard look. half and hour and a pair of scratched up frustrated kids later decided to call it quits.
This is the second time I've searched for this cache in as many months and its still a DNF from me. I'm confused about why it is a "mystery" cache...
My husband and I are traveling from Melbourne to Cairns for a holiday. We have spent two weeks watching the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast and are now making our way to Cairns.
We are staying in Townsville tonight and decided to visit this park for a walk. We saw lots of different birds as we wandered amongst the plants, and we also found this well hidden cache.
Thank you fishabunga for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

With Oscarfish86 and family, easy enough to locate, a little tougher to retrieve, so I sent Oscarfish86 to get it, the children left a trinket, signed the log and fought the cycads to return to the hide, TFTC
This was a relatively quick find with .Frendo making the connection with the clue straight up. The cycads were not as eager to give up their cache as other friendlier plants, but one does what they must to sign the log!
No trackables in here though.
Little ladybug left behind a shiny new ring from the next little cacher and now we're off to have lunch

2nd time lucky for us, Frullet Jr. was straight onto the prize and the right size not to get spiked!!! A healthy tree frog has moved in with the cache, a great location to sped the day. Thanks fishbunga for the chase.
We were staying in Townsville for a couple of days and with no hope of finding all the caches here we decided to target multi's for the Pirate souvenir game as well as a few puzzles we have solved and the wherigo's as we really enjoy them.
We enjoyed our little world travel and were actually quite amazed at how many different types of cycad's there are and how different they can look. After a nice little walk in a very pleasant area we soon had enough numbers to head off to gz where we spotted a likely hide as we arrived and after working out the best way to get to it we were soon adding our name to the log.
Thanks fishabunga for a great little multi.

TFTC - we were out looking for a location for our first cache placement. The cycads can cause injury
Cycads are natural protection! Took nothing, left some "dinosaur treasure" as my 4 to calls it, for the next kids. TFTC.
Note: no travel bugs here.

Taking a break from work. Few nasty pinches to the forehead while retrieving this one. Thanks for the cache. Tftc
Found at 12:06 PM GAFF3 in the company of RocketBabe.
After 2 DNF's we finally found a cache! A nice park, but you have to be quick before the mozzies find you are lurking there.
Thanks fishabunga.
Feedback: As usual there are no TB's in that cache!

A nice quick find this afternoon, but the extraction was stalled due to a number of kids running past as they did multiple laps of the grounds.... Not really handy.
Once the coast was clear, the container was out, my name was in the log and it was tucked back pronto.. [^]
A nice spot to look around.
Cheers fishabunga.

It was no longer there, the only thing left was some cardboard with the words "thanks for playing".
Nice hiding spot, in a gorgeous park! I'm a bit confused as to why this is a mystery though? TFTC with Manakitai and Teteur
Found in great condition, signed the log, took two trinkets and put a bracelet and another trinket and a TB.
I did not sight the Jesse Ventura TB that is logged in the inventory of this cache.
Tftc - had fun looking for this one and getting some exercise in this quiet and beautiful park as the last time I was here was to find the White Fig cache nearby (which has since been archived by the looks of things).

Thanks for the cache. After a few a few minutes of searching we were able to make the find. I left a pathtag behind.
Received a fair few scratches but no luck. Had one more rock to investigate but muggles were comfortably seated on it. Maybe next time
Picked up the code coin and will move on when I've cracked the code.
Dropped of Jesse Ventura Travel Bug.

Quick find in a what appears to be a spot just made for this cache. Not sure why it's listed a mystery but a good find never the less. Tftc.
found with MagickalMumma13, we walked through the gardens taking in all the different species of plants along the way. the gardens is definetly a beautiful are to sit and relax.tftc
A lovely day, so I thought I might go and grab a couple of caches in the beautiful Anderson Park. I really enjoyed wandering through the cycad garden too - they have a special place in my botanic heart!
This one was an easy find, if a little prickly!!!!
TFTC fishabunga!

Definitely ouch spikey!!! But we were determined to make the find. and we conquered the cycads but we have the scars to prove it . TFTC SL TNLN

Looked in different continents for this hide. It was a very quiet day in the park and I took my time to appreciate not only the cyads.
Spotted it in a spikey place, took a tb that has been in this park too long.
Thanks for the cache

quick drive around the park
a bit longer looking for this fella
but found it we did
& it was what I was after ...
a larger cache to drop a TB
not too much trouble with the foliage
and walked away unscathed
TFTC
... I see the bug I dropped has moved on already
so I will let that one go, but a few others will visit

1:18:00 PM. In town for the day again and thought it was time to check out the gardens. The better half had the eyes on and spotted something out of place and I very carefully crawled in to retrive the cache. Log signed and coin left I returned cache to hide and recovered. Thanks fishabunga for placing this cache.
Quick find following the clue rather than the GPS, Geo-boy quite enjoyed looking at the different cycads while we waited for the conclusion of little sisters ballet exam nearby. Donated a new zip lock bag for the log, but the rest was in good nick. S.L TFTC fishabunga.
Cycads are spikey....
Spent quite a while and eventually spotted a rock and a spec of red behind it...

We have spent quite a lot of time in Townsville in the past but never had a good look at this delightful park. Thanks for bringing us here. No pen in the cache. Took a Dinosaur for geo Cruzy. Also nearby is a beautiful "bower" constructed by the resident Bower bird.
There was a spider on it! Eek! Then I hurt myself. But all in the name of geocaching!
Ouch . . . . . Ouch . . . . . Ouch
Finally geoP spotted the little sucker, but not before we had introduced ourselves with every single sharp pointy thing.
No sign of the trackable.

Took me about 15 minutes to find this cache. My GPS was bouncing all around the place. After becoming acquainted with just about every spiky cycad, I found the cache in the one spot that my GPS didn't want to sent me. Nice quiet park with no muggle activity seen today. TFTC fishabunga. TNLN SL {#389}.
A few possible hiding spots and plenty of spikes to esnure that you searched carefully.
Eventually found the cache. Thanks fishabunga for this cache in such a quiet and tranquil area of Townsville. Only one cyclist passed while we were at the GZ.

Mrs TiedyeSmileys bravely sent Mr TiedyeSmileys into the spikey GZ. Mr TiedyeSmileys was soon spiked but did come out with the cache in hand. Boy, there sure are a lot of mutt walkers there of an evening.

Nice easy last cache for the day. Many thanks to tiny cache for braving the spiky cicads to retrieve.
Phone was running low on power but I thought I risk this one. 10pm dark and hoping the phone wouldn't let me down, I had the cache in hand pretty quick. Nice hide. TFTC
This was our first find. Took a while but worth the perseverance. Tried for a couple of others in the park, but the mossies started carrying us away. Another time.
First time geocaching. Took the dog walking and we had a blast looking for this one! Thanks for the fun.

#277 a find that I forgot to log. Sucessful after various attempts!
This one has been a sort of nemesis cache, as I've been here a few times and never found it... I recently looked and saw the puzzle was gone, so decided to go for it again. Got to GZ with baby sister tagging along, and was soon looking for the cache. Finally, we found it!!! Yes, we found it. Took it to the table to sign the log and have a look at the cache. Interesting container and contents. We signed the log, and waited for a muggle free moment to replace the cache... It was soon back in its hiding place, and another cache down... Sorry for the late log..
Thanks for the cache fishabunga, and for maintaining this cache!

I have a couple of nice Cycads in the garden at home, but this is impressive. This cache took me quite a while to find, partly because the GPS wanted me to look between two other cycads, and partly because it is an excellent hide.
Eventually, the clue helped and I found it. I was glad of the shade and the nearby table to complete the formalities.

A nice hide in a great little cycad garden. On my first visit a muggle was enjoying a break nearby so I returned for a thorough search later. T: GC L: Nothing. TFTC.
