We enjoyed this meandering route through Gympie's former main road. Here with ToucanKB, signing as KATO. Liked the old two sided rock BBQ with a metal funnel chimney lost in the grass at what assumedly was a former rest area. The heatwave was setting in as we reached the site. Fortunately it was too hot for snakes to be out and the cache was not far from the car's welcoming airconditioning. Tftc.
Travelled up to Gympie very early this morning for a redemption parkrun at Victory Heights Trail. What a tough little course. It was a last minute decision the night before but turned out to be fabulous for caching purposes. I am trying to get to 5000 traditional finds before the first of November and still needed 29.So whats a cacher to do but find a long meandering way around to pick up some numbers. The hubby and I had a delightful morning travelling the countryside - these caches were also great as they were mostly regulars and in the exact spot you think they would be. We saw some wildlife included a very close encounter as I poked my head around a large tree and woke a dozing hare from its nap and it bolted so fast across the road. Also had a close encounter with another cacher as we pulled into to our last cache and saw a car parked right were we wanted to be. I thought I recognised the driver and it was only when they got out I was sure. Teamed up to find the cache before they continued along were we had just been.A lovely morning and a big thanks to your contribution of it with well maintained caches.
Welcome to geocaching. We've been doing it for a few years now. The two things that we like about it is that we go to beautiful places that you would have driven past, and meet a lot of people who become friends. We are about to go to a week long Gecocaching event (think of it as a conference.)
We had the opportunity to spend some time exploring the region and were lucky to have perfect winter weather for it. We visited some wonderful sites, enjoyed some spectacular views and discovered some interesting history along the way. Our GPS had us about 8 metres away but when we found nothing in that area, we decided to check out the more obvious hide and happily uncovered the cache there. Thanks austreesNaustpark
My GPS took me to the middle of a grassy patch so I figured I just have to extend my search. Looked in the nearest object with no luck then moved further away too a much taller object where the cache was neatly hidden away. TFTC
Sweet-Sour I found your cache Highway One - Tamaree on 9/4/2024, 11:50AM. This is my find 6523 and find # 7 today. Found it after a brief search. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

We found it all pulled out over ground . We have replaced as per co ords and put all items we could find back in container
First geocache ever was pretty cool although I forgot to write my name down it was such a cool thing to do. Very exciting
A friend mentioned making the Townsville Mega a milestone cache… I hadn’t even thought about it, but what’s a couple of hundred caches between friends…Hence the reason TMZ59, Patrol14 and I are hitting Kilkivan and surrounds…
Still actually trying to get to Kilkivan but am now caught in a whirlwind of Gympie caches…. A quick find in the logical location… tftc..

Out with patrol14 and Peppa to get some cache numbers to hopefully get a milestone while at Townsville. We are trying to get to Kilkivan to do that area, but we keep getting distracted. TFTC
Day out with Peppa and TMZ59 caching in and around Kilkivan to get our numbers up to maybe reach a milestone at the MEGA. Stopped for fuel and a cache or two in Gympie.
Found on 4 April 2022. TFTC, Sweet-Sour.

Well, finally the weather has decided it will allow us a few days of dry camping (not totally dry, there WILL be a few lagers involved! ).
Our target area is Gympie and a few rural spots northwest.
A nice quick find laying out in plain sight at the base of the 'STUMP!'.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

Headed to Hervey bay for my annual pilgrimage to see my daughters on their first day of school for the year. Lucky there's a couple of hundred of caches between Hervey Bay and home.
This was cache **2** of **70** All caches were found with ease and in good condition unless otherwise said, and I thank each of the Cache Owners for placing and maintaing these caches. I apologise for the generic logs, it doen't mean the effort has not gone unnoticed.
There were so many stumps, so many choices, and it was at this point I realised (after 7 years of caching) that the phone can't get an accurate GPS fix when I have Google Maps in the background but the cache was quickly found. Unfortunately very wet

After attending the New Year's and Cito events in Kilkivan, we headed North for couple of days for relaxing and caching. Now we are on the way back, searching the one or other cache.
This was such a stop.

Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.
30/12/19 450pm Found it TFYC SL. Found cache open and rubbish in it preventing closing. Removed rubbish and reclosed and sealed. All dry.
Stumped us for a bit but found it eventually. The container was a little wet inside.
Fell down ditch x 3, heaps of bugs, spider webs, possible ticks, geo dog loved it!!! Thanks
I was working on Tamaree Road today and when I parked here initially, I noticed that there was a cache on 60m away.
At the end of the days work, I decided that I would stop by and have a look for the cache.
At GZ, it was not too long before the cache was in hand.
The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.
All is good with this cache.
