After a good search, finally found the smashed remnants of the cache, and what was left of a completely soaked log book, in a large pile of debris, more than 30 metres away from where I suspect it should have been Far beyond repair.
Looks like the cache has gone walk about. Will go back and check and replace if necessary
As with previous hunters we could not find this cache today. We spent a long time searching and had our picnic lunch before heading up the track for a couple of other caches. Stopped in here on the way back for another couple of hours while the kids had fun swimming/paddling. We called in our reinforcements anv1l's who also failed to find anything. GPS was pointing us across the river but the hint didnt agree with that. Pretty sure its gone?
Had a good look here under where parts of the tree had fallen in case it was underneath but found nothing.
There is evidence of tree-trimming here: lots of branches on this particular tree recently met with a chainsaw. That being said I suspect the cache fell victim to the tree-trim. I searched the debris and all around the base of the tree to no avail.
Looked for this one for a long time with my son Godispojken and my husband, but none of us could find it. I thought this one would be easy!
Had a bit of a look for the this one, and with the hint thought it should be straight forward but no luck, couldn't see anything here.
Completing the Sledge Track today with tmann421.
Really enjoyed this track. What a beautiful area with amazing scenery. Had great fun collecting the caches in the area and the walk up the hill.
Searched for quite a while on this one but couldn't come up with the cache.

Found in fading daylight, perched in the tree just out of sight. Log book a little damp, but ok with a pencil. Tftc
Came here on a day visit to hunt out some unfound caches in the area. Decided to have lunch here before heading up the Sledge Track to the platinum mine. A quick find - signed log, TFTC
I've been intending to walk this track for some time, but decided to head there today with four new caches - in spite of -6.4 degree frost. I just found three of the four new caches , so I'll be back sometime to do the one I missed plus the two up top. Quick find on my way back down. Thanks for the cache.
Interesting to find Two caches in the same spot we signed both logs as we were not sure witch one was the current cache TFTC
Set off from carpark this morning to do as much of the Sldge Track walk as possible. Hubby had little Miss Setucurst on his back (an extra 12kg) so I was surprised that we made it all the way to 'The View' before we turned around and came back. Stopped at a picnic table along the way to have lunch and enjoy the surroundings. This cache I was able to find easily while hubby and little Miss Setucurst threw rocks into the river. TNLNSL TFTC

Checked this out today while walking the Sledge Track with siderosnz. We confirm it is missing. Needs attention - thanks.
Had a good hunt for this one and looked all around the area given in the hint. Couldn't find it. Will have a good look when I come back this way again.
found with Seagnoid, Ginarley and Lillianavess
water was a bit cold today. While it would have been rather refreshing at the end of the trek back down, I don't think 'the boys' would have appreciated it!

Found on a day trip around the track with Edvern. Dog having a heap of fun in the river. TFTC
Picked up JP5KZB. Make sure geocache is completely covered as was a bit exposed when I checked it.
Found the cache without a problem. A nice place to visit on a fine warm day which are few and far between this summer! TFTC. TNLN.
Nice easy find. Wasn't quite warm enough for us to go swimming unfortunately...maybe on the way back. TFTC
#805. A quick find on our way to the mines today. We tried this cache a couple of days ago, but there were so many muggles in the vicinity we didn't even bother trying to look. We had the area to ourselves today though. SL, TFTC. -measuring tape, -tb, +ball, +medal, +dino.
Have walked the Sledge track a number of times, but never this little bit to the swimming hole. Thanks for the detour, Chrissy50. No trackables, so added one.

A nice easy find on my way up the mines - thanks. A bit too chilly for a swim today, though!
No trackables were in evidence.

Checked out geocache - re-covered with some leaf litter and dropped off travel bug. Had a swim and a picnic at the same time.
I went to school camp at Brown House near here 2 or 3 times in the late 70s, early 80s. The tracks were a lot rougher back then. Such a beautiful place to visit.
We took an Oz 20c and a pet rock . We left 2 plastic squirt flower rings and British Columbia GC (I think I've held on to this long enough, happy trails). TFTC.
Sadly we didn't see JF's 5 Star + Climbing GC in the cache.

Enjoyable little bush walk to a pleasant resting place and a straightforward find. Took purple bead necklace; left JF's 5 Star + Climbing Geocoin to have a little sojourn before its next climb to a high place. TFTC
(251) A perfect spot for our first swim of the season (although the water is still pretty cold). Easy find once some muggles had moved on.

Nice find on a calm Sunday afternoon. Track was a little wet after the rain yesterday but a lovely spot for a swim an picnic if it was warmer. TFTC
A very wet Possum found this when out with the Wednesday Trampers from the Manawatu Tramping and Skiing Club - no he was not swimming. Nice cache thanks.
Found this cache after taking a quick side trip in the area with Mrs Yeetrees, found the cache without any issues nice walkway have never being here before, but must come back to check out the walkway, nice spot, TFTC TNLNSL (1949)
Found with tmann421 and Hugo the dog. Great spot that we would never have known about. TFTC.
We met some recent immigrants from England at the car park and walked along the track with them and their dogs. They knew about geocaching, and knew they were muggles! They continued along the track while we went down to the cache, which was found without difficulty, although somewhat lower than we expected, and we certainly needed the hint as our coordinates were 13 metres out. TFTC
Nice day for a run! found cache fairly quickly. Swapped a pet rock - a fox, a coin & a little cat clip for a couple of figurines & a winnie the pooh charm. TFTC
Nice walk along the track, weather was nice and hot and I forgot my togs so dog and I splashed back to the bridge via the river since it is so low.
Removed a small figurine, added a winnie the pooh cellphone charm. Good start to the sledge track walk.
A group of 17 Thursday trampers from the Manawatu Tramping and Skiing Club headed up the Sledge Track today. Made the brief detour to find this one - a quick find at 8.30 am. What a nice swimming hole - but a bit too early in the day to get wet. We carried on into the hills and were guided through some old hunters' tracks to complete a crossing over to the Wairarapa side. Certainly needed to be shown the way though - navigation gets quite tricky, and permission was obtained from two farmers whose land we crossed on the eastern side. The weather was perfect - warm and calm, and the tramp took almost 6 hours. Thanks for this well-placed cache which is easily accessible on this popular track.
Nice day for a walk. Found this one whilst getting out and about and walking the Sledge track. found it on the way in and then got poured on from the heavens on the way out after 5 hrs of hiking. Stopped for a swim on the way back to the car. Nice spot. Thanks for the cache.
Had to dodge trucks, digger & grader cleaning up the many slips & spreading gravel on the road coming in.
Just started on track & it began to pour down!
Several slips on track but all are passable.
Nice final spot & will definately have to come back here once summer arrives for a picnic & swim
