My plans for a spectacularly successful last Gong Ride were dashed by a broken bike. The only thing that was going to make me feel better was a few cache finds on the way home. This one took a little while as my app told me it was way up higher, but the terrain rating suggested that it was not. Of course, it was not, and I eventually found it despite the app's insistence on another spot...TFTC

After my trip to Sydney last week, I decided another day trip up that way was in order. I did not go quite as far and spent some time caching along Picton road to Cordeaux Dam and then back to Berrima for some Labs, lunch and the remaining puzzle caches and remembrance dive series back to the highway. It was a great day and I will have to get out to the that same area several more times to find lots of the remaining caches.

The view over the dam was stunning, but the wall behind this garden made for a challenging find, but with careful examination of the various nooks and shelf's, the cache was soon found.

Thanks for the cache prospector27

Such an amazing spot.. definitely coming back. Trackable left

17-Jan-23
As we drove back today from Sydney to Canberra, we took a detour here. Such a beautiful spot and I have no idea why we have not taken time to visit this location before. It was definitely worth the detour.
It was late afternoon when we arrived on a weekday, and everything was very quiet. Lots of lovely history around here.
We located the hide quickly and have added our name to the log.
Thanks prospector27

10-Jan-23
Original cache no where to be found, have replaced with a new one, please make sure it goes back where you find it

09-Jan-23
As per earlier finder , I managed to located this shelf which had this label but container long gone .

20-Nov-22
Like others before us, we appear to be in the right location with the ledge and stones. Did discover an abandoned geocache label (see pic) and hope this counts as a find!

05-Nov-22
Looks like a little shelf on the rocks but nothing found ,

22-Oct-22
Pretty sure we found the location as there were some rocks stacked around in a unusual way but no container or anything found. We were right near where people have taken photos of.

Find 578 for the tribe

Lovely day out visiting Cordeaux Dam. Enjoyed a walk along the Dam wall finding a Munzee or two, had a look for this one, then moved up the hill to another cache and to the playground for the geokids. So many picnic tables in this neck of the woods!

I'm claiming the find because we found the sticker from the cache which said "geocaching.com" right where the cache ought to have been, but the cache wasn't anywhere near that. Maybe it's been muggled again? Can produce photo proof if required.

Thanks for the cache and for bringing us to a place that we would never have made the effort to come to without caching. A very peaceful spot. I'll be back for sure.

Decided to do a bushwalk this morning however a poorly marked track left us defeated and decided to check out local dams instead after recent rains.
Having visited this dam frequently as children we were keen to climb the cyclopean masonary stone and recreate a childhood photo. Quick check of phones revealed a cache in the area so how could we not claim a smile. TFTC, log and cache in good condition

22-Apr-21
Pretty impossible to find since there is no service. The map showed to climb steep rocks

Great place for a cuppa, walked across the dam, it's amazing to think it was build so long ago, Gets a fav from me

So sad...didn't find it..... Bloody horse flies were biting....we will try again couldn't look at the photo no service

24-Jan-21
Bit tricky with reception and the GPS, but I broadened the search area and found quite easily in the end

15-Jan-21
Not sure I've ever been here before - it is truly beautiful! So peaceful and calm this afternoon. Did take a few minutes to locate as GPS was struggling and poor reception meant I couldn't look at the photo or previous logs, but after some systematic searching the cache was soon spotted. Thank you so much for bringing us here!

Nice rainy day for caching??
Dam could do with more water. Very pretty spot aptly named.

   CUT AND PASTE SECTION
Streak day 64
Below is a blurb about us.
We are trying to get a badge from Project-GC for writing found log files of 100 words or more. Once we get this badge we will stop writing this. We are also trying to
get badges for adding photos to our found logs.
We Started caching in December 2019 and by January 2020 we were hooked. As we are on the road full time (living in a caravan), caching fits in well with this lifestyle.
It is taking us to places that we would normally not have gone.
When we move to a new place we also look at what caches are in the area and how many days we will need to be there to get the caches we want.

In the area so decided to check this place out. Found a couple of caches whilst there.

01-Mar-20
There were lots of people walking up and down the road to this cache, couldn't work out why they didn't just drive and walk from the carpark given it was quite a warm day!

I then arrived and saw all the people walking out onto the structure that goes into the dam, quite impressive!

The park was empty once again however, so I rejoiced and made a quick find!

Thanks

### Mega OZGeomuster 2019 The Gong ###
—-

We’ve solved many mysteries prior attending the event.
We’ve encountered some difficulties but we’ve got help from some nice cachers.
Today was the day! We’ve stated early and were able to find all of the lighthouse tour caches

Thank you for the nice caches

As we were in the area, The Ki8wichicks decided to continue to the end of the road for this one. What a place - so good that a couple were using it for their wedding photos! Fortunately the cache was well out of shot... TFTC

The time has finally arrived for a massive Australian road trip with The Kiwi Chicks. We are GraciesGPSfun , thedbees , Ethness, Infoferret , Jude_E and me Nosynel. We might sometimes sign the geocaches as KCs or TKCs. TFTC

07-Jul-19
We flew to Sydney from Bendigo on the new direct flights, hired a car and drove down to Wollongong to attend the muster.

Today we went for a drive to Pt Kembla for a look and didn't have much luck caching wise and then headed out to collect some of the WLS, didn't have much luck there either. In the end we did the touristy things instead.
Thanks for contributing to the fun prospector27

Find # 8237

Found while up at the Gong event.
Solved what we could as a team before the trip up. But I had to go out n find "the Light House art" alone.

Did have the occasional meet up with others out in the field. Thankfully some of those were when the caches became elusive to find.

Thanks to those who gave me a ton of help with the Wherigos. Much appreciated. One day I might get the hang of them.

Not part of the art but was worth the detour foe the view ovee the water.

Day 43

07-Jul-19
While up in this neck of the woods for the OZGM Mega, today's agenda was to explore some of the lookouts and dams, and finish off the Lighthouse Geoart.

This is a very popular spot and no wonder. Amazing architecture. We really enjoyed walking the dam wall. A fave point for the location. TFTC prospector27.

07-Jul-19
What a beautiful area. Someone was having wedding photos here.
Thanks prospector27 for placing this geocaches 7180 find for me. Others went to the flashmob. Us four are continuing.

The time has finally arrived for a massive Australian road trip with The Kiwi Chicks. We are GraciesGPSfun , thedbees , Ethness, Infoferret , Jude_E and me Nosynel. We might sometimes sign the geocaches as KCs or TKCs.

Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Interesting to see the lie of the land with the water lowered so much. A tranquil spot where we saw newlyweds having their photos taken.

Signed KC for Kiwi Chicks (Infoferret, Jude_E, NosyNel and me) who are Australia for the OzMuster. TFTC

07-Jul-19
Given the restricted access to this area, this cache was high on our priorities for today, In this non-GPS friendly location, it took some systemmatic hunting before the cache was located in a logical hide. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks prospector27 for the cache.

07-Jul-19
Kiwi Caching Chicks are in Aussie! We are Nosynel, Infoferret, Jude_E, (thedbees, graciesgpsfun some times) and Ethness. Over from NZ for the Ozgeomuster and trying to do as many caches as we can in the time we have here. We signed as KC or KCC. The lake is sooo low. Encountered a wedding party posing by the dam. Thanks for the cache.

I really enjoyed myself down here. We both commented on the architechture and what it reminded us of. I wasn't at all surprised to read in a brochure later that it was based on an Egyptian style. Not very often that I look at the sight or feature before searching for the cache but that is exactly what I did here. Then I went to look for the cache while Goldenwattle took photos for some of the other challenges she takes part in. This spot is worth a favourite. TFTC # 14,063
