This was my last cache for the day as the park was getting ready to close so had to run down the trail to get to this one and get back before I got locked in for the night. Luckily I found this oldy and dropped a few pathtags before grabbing a couple trackables to take back with me to Guam. Cache was in good shape, glad to see this one going still.

Hiked out here on my 70th birthday so my friend, Armymom29, could sign the log on this special cache. I left a TB here, because I don’t think anything in here will be randomly muggled!

We are in Honolulu with The Drovers and guess what we went out and did a few caches before checking into our room. We are thrilled to be here and to have been able to find this cache which we particularly wanted to do with it being the oldest and with it being its Birthday. What a treat. We had to work to get our smiley though and ended up with muddy shoes. Normally this would not be a problem but with one pair of shoes to his name on this trip and the event we attended tonight Bruce had to do a quick clean up. Big GrinBig Grin Thanks to GeoGerms. Fav point alloc.

USA road trip 2015, traveling with Liz and Bruce.
Week 1, day 1 - Landed in Honolulu about 11am, and sorted out a hire car.
As our accommodation wasn't ready, we decided test our 'left hand' driving skills,
and went out to grab a few caches.

This was on our 'must do' list, as it is the oldest cache in Hawaii, and celebrating a birthday.
What a trek, as the track was very muddy today.
Finally made our way to GZ, happily signed the log, and took 1 trackable.
Many thanks for placing this cache, GeoGerms, for us and others to find.

Once we planned our trip to Hawaii, I earmarked this as a MUST DO cache. It was left until our last day, starting about 9am we did the trail in reverse order , so this was the second find if the day. The path from car park to here is the worst of the trail with slippery paths and roots and puddles on steep sections, the rest of the loop had similar slippery buts but was not as steep as this part. Someone told me that this was a park/walk/grab/walk/go BUT it isn't with the rain that seems to always be a part of the mountains here. Once we did this cache, we decided to continue the loop rather than go back which was a good decision as some other caches were grabbed along the way, and the going was much flatter. Took almost all the TBs and dropped a bunch more that I brought from Australia , thanks for maintaining this cache and keeping this old one going Smile fav point .
