This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.
Took some photos to show that GZ is forever gone. This cache will need to be archived
Nice that we were the last to find it before they started clearing everything. The lower part of the park is still there so maybe it could be renewed/relocated?
Have attached a before photo of where the cache was located and some after photos of what the area looks like now!

Seems like the road works have taken this one out. GZ is fenced off. You can get through to the spot but it's all mud today!
It just needs re-positioning about 15-20 m away from where it used to be.

Fence was still there as new expressway is going close to this area. Managed to find a different route though. Cache was there but box was empty with no log inside. Didn't have any spare paper to replace and needs more. TFTC.
No Entry sign is still in place. I think it may be part of the Kapiti Expressway extension project.
Can no longer reach cache as there is a gate in the way with a sign that reads "no entry"
Found after a quick search. Unfortunately it was opened and laying on the ground, contents gone. The lid is badly cracked, and the outside is really grimy. There's some gardening work going on, so they may not have realized it's a geocache. Needs some maintenance. This is a really cool idea for a location and there aren't many bigger caches along this part of SH1. An ammo box would perfect here.
Found container however it is in need of maintainence really bad.. cant sign log due to water damage.. this is more like a puece of litter hereat the moment.. may i ask the cache owner fix or archive and remove container
It has been moved or removed either delete this geocache or owner place a new one or find it
I found it eventually it was put somewhere unusual so I have put it back here it needs to be and where it says on the map but needs serious maintenance
Logbook soaked. Managed to sign but needs maintenance. Lovely park, who knew it was here?! TFTC.
See previous NM logs and notes concerning the condition of the cache. Needs attention.
Was a very quick find as it was out in the open we rebagged the temp log to keep it dry, Co really needs to give this one some love, cache lid cracked and container had a fair bit of water in it dried out what we could, this place it massive to what you think it looks like, I hope it would get used being such a lovely area, the houses around on the right all sit empty and over grown I think 5 of them and got talking to a guy who said it might be because of the express way.
Took a few minutes, my botanical knowledge is not good but I had googled the hint item so had a rough idea what it looked like.
It turned out I had put my backpack down almost beside the cache but I didn't spot it till I looked from another angle, I must have almost put my hand on it to start with.
Certainly needs a new log and some TLC, I signed the temporary log but it was a bit damp and won't last long.
Lovely well-maintained area which it seems is probably considerably underused.
Interested to see that other cachers had also been here today, saw their names on another local cache but unfortunately I didn't meet up with them.
I would have given a favourite point to this cache if it was in better condition.
TFTC.

Cache needs to be replaced. I walked to cache site to find the 2L container open with 2L of water inside.cache needs to be dried and replaced
I have replaced log with a receipt and put into a little baggie that I had and pit in container. Container has a large crack the length of the lid
Begins our holiday in NZ in Christchurch, we came from Italy to find our son who lives there for two years.
After ten days spent in the 'island of the south stopping at lakes in Dunedin in Oumaru and be returned to Chch, we decided to go north to the island with a flight to Wellington, the idea is to relax a few days between the sea and the beach course cache, unfortunately we will take four days of rain and wind, impossible to take to the beach.
But we'll make with the cache.
They expect historical cache but especially the GC46 one of the few positioned in May 2000 still alive, among other things, the oldest of NZ.
On the way back after the cache on the dunes we stop for some cache
Greetings from Italy

Found the box not completely sealed shut, and the ziplock bag for the log book was open - as such the book is soaked beyond repair. I attempted to write our name in the book on the page with the black plastic clip, but there's no way this one is going to dry out!
I'd recommend a new book, ziplock and box as there are multiple cracks on the top so probably not watertight anymore anyway.

Quick find in what is a lovely little park, all quiet when we swung by.
Unfortunately the log book is done for, will raise with CO.

Aha. So that's a claret ash. Gotya. We had some difficulty deciding how to access this park. - - - It is truly "just there" but hidden. All good in the end. A great little park. TFTC
A nice wee walk in the park in the sun.
Chatted with a friendly local, then swooped on.
Cache is very wet, but is dry in a ziplock.
Thanks

Our only stop on our way to Wellington and glad we chose this spot. The reserve is gorgeous and being there just in dusk there were hundreds of birds to greet us as we rounded the corner. An unbelievable sight. Thanks so much for sharing this spot
Miss 6 and 4 were very excited to find the "treasure". Have added an impromptu log book as other was soaked. Never knew this park was here! TFTC
Out and about bright and early for a caching trip to Waikanae area today. Having been part way up Paekakariki Hill Road and into Queen Elizabeth Park, Raumati, Kapiti and Waikanae itself. Now time to start heading back home, with a few must do caches on the way.
Managed to beat a muggle dog walker into the park and move swiftly away from him. Had no idea that this lovely park was here. Cache was quickly located. However, the log book is saturated and going a bit mouldy. TFTC

Went hunting at night with torches so was a bit difficult. Container was full of cockroaches which wasnt nice but fun to hunt for. Thanks
#40. It's autumn so the claret ash wasn't very claret-y coloured, but still was pretty obvious - good clue and good co-ords. Lots of loot to be had - some lucky kids will get some vintage cars. The log book, as has been noted, is VERY damp, even inside the bag. Still able to be written on, but I returned it inside 2 plastic bags, so that may help. Great little Reserve - been past it many times along SH1, and never knew it existed! TFTC!
Thanks for bringing me to the hidden park!!
It looks like a nice place for a picnic... I tried for this one night in April and didn't find it in the dark, but this time it was not too bad - and co-ords seemed accurate to 2m.
There appear to be gang members (MMob) living in the houses next to the entrance to this park, so it may not be wise to go searching here alone - I certainly felt uncomfortable walking past at night - maybe take a big dog or two??
Thanks for the cache OtakiHunters. TNLN SL

Found park entrance and car park. After a short stroll found cache although a bit damp. TFTC.
Whilst this one was easy to see we were looking in the wrong place. Found it eventually.
#1898. What a cool little park this is. Must have driven around the outside of it hundreds of times and never knew it was here. Wonder how much use it gets (other than visits from geocachers). On a warm sunny Saturday it was deserted. This cache took me a little while to find. I saw what looked like the hint tree but no cache by it. So had to widen the search. But spotted it eventually. The old log book is a bit damp but still easy to write in. Enjoyed the walk into here. Thanks for showing me this secluded spot.
Found on lunch break with kids....beautiful park and well worth the stop for lunch.
This was our very first one! We've driven past this area on dozens of occasions and never thought to stop here. Seeing how long this cache has been here and the logs left by previous finders was really something!
Needs maintenance. Very wet and log book needs replacing as soaking and mouldy.
Had a nice walk through park and trees from down the hill side. Easy find. Container had quite a bit of water in it and the logbook was saturated. Manged to get pen to work and scribe in the logbook. Nice area for a cache. TFTC.
Some nice trees in this reserve. Everything in box is pretty wet and slimy. Managed to get the pencil to work though. TFTC
Found it very wet and log book a bit soggy. Could do with a clean out. TFTC.
Found eventually, phew!! Very wet inside container, sorry had nothing on me to clean it up. Thanks anyway.
Found it with Riders on da Storms. Never knew this spot existed! Great cache. 3 October 2015 2:07 pm
Log wet. Bugs a plenty, mouldy food present. Needs maintenance badly. Nice area though.
Excellent park area by SH1. Nice place to walk dog - picking up dropping of course. Found the "treasure " waterlogged but managed to record our entry. Well worth visiting.
Great spot, a beautiful park, kids had great fun navigating this one. Log damp, bag was open so made sure closed.
Nice walk great park stayed the night in otaki grabbing some caches before we head home
Wow, what an amazing park. Container was not well hidden. The log book is quite damp. Road noise is such a shame it spoils such an ideallic spot. Tftc
While I was busy googling the hint lol little dragon found it! Needs a bit of paint work on the container, but still in good knick. A bit sad to see we missed the TB that was in it TFTC
Cache # 2,414 - Second trip here, this time with some extra eyes (Violet Butterfly and Astro Hunter). Still took a bit of time to locate, as GZ was 7 metres out from coordinates. Nice to find, and deja vu, it started to bucket while we were at the cache (same as last time). Swapped TBs. TFTC!
Found with The Wandering Dragons and Violet Butterfly today. Thanks!

Our very first Geocache! A beautiful reserve - the sun was shining and no-one else was around so had a good find! Found a Geocoin, which we took with us to our next geocache. TFTC.
Found today whilst down in the area shopping, lovely spot. Picked up a trackable for onward travel.
AtomsNZ and I had to head down to Welly so we decided to grab some quality caches along the way. We ended up grabbing three regulars (17 away from a badge now), one Wherigo (Bronze badge), a multi (two away from a badge), a letterbox (four away from it becoming my leading badge) and a puzzle. Only a total of eight but still very worthwhile.
This was the second regular and after a short walk it was quickly found, well after I climbed out of the garden because it wasn't quite as far in as I thought it would be.
Dropped off a TB that was heading to Kapiti.

Found with Tommygun9 on our way through to Wellington, before our breakfast stop. I was still searching for the hint item having not heard the key word of the colour and was searching for a regular one. oops. In the end once the GPS settled down the cache was found. Thanks for the smiley.
Nice quick find in a lovely little park. If it wasn't for the traffic noise you would think you were miles out in the country. Too separate logs being completed in the same book leaving a few pages blank between the two lots. Thanks for placing a cache in this nice spot - a great place to stop for a picnic.
Had a couple of days staying in Paraparaumu and manged to get quite a lot of caching time. Fair bucketing down for a good portion of both days - hence some very very short logs in an attempt to keep the logs as dry as possible! Thanks for the caches, neat area to cache in.
A nice find with a couple of young ones today. Contents a little wet today, log book damp inside bag so need to seal carefully. Tftc
Found on a rainy day in otaki. Had to drive around the block twicebefore we found the entrance to the park, Gps lead me to a tree, searched for 10 mins before googling the tree, I had the wrong one! Tried the right tree, bingo, under a nearby bush. Left a tb for the next searcher. Enjoy! Great hide in a great park
Have passed this place a million times but never realised it was a public walk way. Good to know. Easy find. Left tricycle ornament. TFTC.
Found yesterday with Owhiro Ray. Another hidden spot that makes a good dog walk/caching combo.
I would hate to think how many times I have driven past this place and never even knew it was here! A nice quick find after locating the correct tree which was a little hard to spot due to it not being very "claret" at this time of year. SLTFTC
Took a while, well hidden, perhaps needs some attention, wet book inside. Did our best, tried to dry it out, luckily had the reserve to ourselves.
