Worth every fly I ate finding it. Thanks for placing and maintaining the cache. Enjoyed taking my daughter out here in a tour of the eastern goldfields - the de bit of geology lecture, camping and walking.
Brad and Janet are on an epic 6 week trip aiming to travel along the Canning Stock Route, the longest stock route in the world. 51 wells and crossing 4 deserts. We are traveling with a group of 11 vehicles on a tour led by Ron and Trent Moon. We have the geomobile towing the mini-geohouse on wheels. We have a couple of caches to put out if we find a good spot. We will grab what we can as we pass. We have finished the CSR part of the trip and are now headed home via Meekatharra, Sandstone, Leinster, Leonora, Laverton and the Great Central Road and Surveyor Generals Corner then across to the Stuart Highway. We started the Outback Way geocache trail in 2013. Slowly adding as we revisit from time to time. Bizarrely we found this at our last visit but never logged it! Sorted now
This is the most unexpected place to find sculptures. And what an impact they have in this setting.. Antony Gormley nailed it. We walked out into the water, past the sticky mud that felt like you were dragging three people on each leg, and the crystal reflections were stunning. As we were camping the night it would have been a bonus to have had a sunset or sunrise but we only got cloud while we were there. A fantastic place for a free camp. Found the cache after seeing Inside Australia. TFTC way-finder.
Trip out to Lake Ballard to see inside Australia worth the trip out. Road is now tar all the way to the Camp ground turn off. Good views of the lake from GZ.TFTC and a favourite.
This is a wonderful project and what great place to enjoy. We were so lucky to see water in the lake after the recent rains. Walked out to a few of the statues off the red sand point, water was ankle deep. Thanks for placing the cache here, the container is a bit worse for wear so Ive replaced it with a clip lock box. Left a teaspoon and sticker. STL TFTC
It took a while to find it due to connectivity issues, but a great cache nonetheless. Thank you! A lot of memories
Found during three weeks away with e.gregory1 on a trip along WA's Great Central Road and a caching circuit of the WA Goldfields. We travelled North on the Stuart Highway and out to Kings Canyon to Uluru and Kata Tjuta. From there we headed in a south-westerly direction along the Great Central Road with a number of detours along the way, including Surveyor Generals Corner and Empress Spring. Then it was down to Laverton and Leonora before turning South to Menzies and Kalgoorlie. A few days were spent on a circuit back up to Lake Carey and around to Queen Victoria Spring before returning to Kalgoorlie, then out to Coolgardie, Kambalda and Norseman, and heading for home along the Eyre Highway. The WA Goldfields is a fascinating region of incredible scenery and history that we experienced over a number of days while touring the area. Lake Ballard was a very interesting place to visit as we checked out the landscape and sculptures. Thanks for the cache way-finder!
Found on another enjoyable trip with FeatherWaite over 3-weeks through South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia. This time the plan was to head up to Kings Canyon, across to the WA border via Uluru and Kata-Tjuta, then down the Great Central Road, with a few side-trips along the way before eventually getting to the Goldfields and then home via Queen Victoria Springs and the Eyre Highway.
We had some mixed weather to start, with a few overnight showers initially, but mostly warm and sunny days. The nights were often cold though!
We camped at Lake Ballard last night, then had a walk around on the Lake surface to view the sculptures before wandering over to the cache.
The cache container and contents were in good condition.
Thanks way-finder for the cache.

We camped here after finishing Holland way (very rainy) and it was beautiful here (sunshine). Thank you
Day 5 of my Goldfields road trip saw me leaving Kal and making the drive north to Lake Ballard. After setting up camp I headed over to find this cache. I was the only person here when I arrived this afternoon so was lucky to set up with a spectacular grandstand view of the lake & mound. It also meant I was a fairly short direct walk away from GZ Thankfully I had picked up a fly net in Menzies as they were overjoyed to have company and couldn't resist following me over to find the cache. Didn't take long to spot once there Just as I was replacing it I heard some noises behind me and realised I also had a black cow for company. No problems here today - TFTC
Semi difficult find but got there in the end offline mode isn't all that accurate over all great fun
How cool! Only did the small loop of the statues but very cool view from top of the hill

We loved this geocache! We were lucky we managed to get the directions, we had to climb up to the top of the mountain! Spectacular area, Highly recommended!
After overnighting at a railway dam 50km west of Sandstone and heading to Lake Ballard, we found a few caches along the way.
The flies are thick here!! We walked 10km on the lake and saw 41 of the 51 sculptures before cracking a beer on the hill and watching sunset.
way-finder, I found Crystal Mirage today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

A quick find while on our long weekend in the Goldfields. This is my second visit to Lake Ballarad, an amazing place that is worth the visit. We spent two nights experiencing 4 seasons, begin to think this is the norm for here. Last time we ran from the lake to avoid the rain and hail. This time, lightening, gale forced winds and rain.. The cache was a quick find with a good view of the surrounds.
Lake Ballard has been on the bucket list for sometime. Finally made it today. After late afternoon photos we made our way to the cache.TFTC. FP added.

Found it yesterday. Took a day trip to Ballard with a few mates. Dark and broody day, beautiful.
This is our second visit here and this time we climbed the hill as the surroundings were dry. Great views. Added to the interesting rock names on the far side. Cache is dry. TFTC
Very cool place and fantastic fun for the kids and geo parents, a cache always helps thanks for this cool spot
Found a few days ago, coffee container is a bit beaten up but dry. Lovely spot.
We loved it here last time many years ago, however it was so muddy that it took a long time to reach the hill in the middle.
Returning this time we were able to wander the lake with ease and the bonus was the cache. Found in good condition.
Picked up a geo coin to move on.

Found it. TFTC way-finder. Took the walk from the car perk and made a quick find. Great view from here.
My GPS had more bounce than a kid on an Olympic size trampoline. I got there in the end and quite enjoyed this one. TFTC
Was für ein einmaliger Platz. Der lange Weg hierher hat sich auf jeden Fall gelohnt.

What a terrific location. We enjoyed our stay here, lots of walking out on to the lake and many photos. Tftc
Touring from Tasmania and stopped here for the night. Walked around a few of the sculptures that the ground was firm, then hunted down the cache. Tftc
One of the highlights of the trip. Took a heap of pictures here
Had a trip out to The historic ghost town of Gwalia planned for some time now and with the wife keen to check out some of the ghost towns and various ruins throughout the goldfields it was sure to be a great trip.
We travelled to Kalgoorlie and then upto Gwalia where we stayed at Hoover House, which is the old mine managers house for the sons of gwalia mine and offered great views of the pit.
We took a day trip out to Laverton and Leinster with a small detour to grab a few caches along the great central road. After our detours from Leonora we dropped back into Kal and down to Esperance for the last night of our trip.
A great trip away and thanks for all the caches along the journey. Thank you to the COs for their caches.

First Geocache so far!! This was an awesome location for my first find on this geocache adventure. We are road tripping looking at places around Menzies and Kookynie today. Taking my mates out to the sights whilst they visit me in Kalgoorlie. Gilly with Shane and Shaun.
Tin needs a new pen or sharpener for the pencil if someone sees this before attending soon.

TFTC stayed at Lake Ballard a couple of nights with Crack n Lee Lee. What a great place, loved it
We have been on a holidays and geocaching with 2beez. We hoped to visit this area and soooo pleased we did. What a great spot. We spent 2 nights. It was so relaxing. Could have spent more and more hours taking photos.
We went for an afternoon wander to pick up this cache with the geopups. Another great view of the lake.

Found this today and it was a welcome relief to walk on a different surfaces after slip sliding in the mud on the salt lake after recent rain. A nice little spot to view the landscape. TFTC
Continuing our meandering route back home from Tasmania found us wandering around the Golden Discovery Trail, and managed to talk the muggle hubby into stopping for a few more caches. Enjoyed the short walk along the 'beach' to the cache, and admired the view before signing the log and replacing as found.
Many thanks for bringing us here and for the cache way-finder.

Camping here was spectacular, all the different colours from sunset to sunrise and Milky Way overhead. The walk to the cache had lots of pretty coloured rocks everywhere.
The flies on the other hand were not pretty.

After a morning of walking most of the statues came across this one. Easy find, however a large moving stick was guarding the cache . What a magnificent place!
Headed out from Kalgoorlie. Our destination Lake Ballad. When we arrived we headed straight for gz to hunt down the cache. The only mistake we made was getting here just after midday. The heat was pretty relentless but we quickly found the cache and took care of the signing duties and returned the cache back to its hiding spot. Then we went exploring. What a unique place with the sculptures scattered across the lake. Thank you for bringing us here because I don’t think we would have made the trek otherwise. TFTC way-finder.
I've been looking at this cache for a while now from afar and Im so glad to have made it to this amazing place! Axell33 and I headed to gz as soon as we arrived after driving out from Kalgoorlie with our muggle family that live here now. They had no idea about this place and everyone had no idea what we were going to see! Of course we had to climb the small hill in the lake for a good view. We slipped and slid on the wet mud, which looked dry, but only on the top! No falls or muddy damage, up the hill we went and throughly enjoyed the view, despite being near done in the heat of the middle of the day. Awesome place, awesome cache! This is my favourite thing about caching, the places you get to be and see! Thanks way-finder.
Thanks for the cache way-finder, we had a wonderful time camping at Lake Ballard with the family.
What a wonderful place.... Found the cache very quickly...took the trackable to continue its journey.
We have been to Lake Ballard many times before but this time we made time to find the cache!
A quick find was made of the well protected cache! TFTC WayFinder

Geobaby had just fallen asleep on the gravel road so Mr L.Gel did laps of the camping ground while I retrieved. Not much salt at this end of the lake at the moment! Have seen it much whiter in the past. Cache in good condition, well protected. TFTC
loved camping here. Stunning place. And the cache was fun to find. Clever camo. Tftc
While visiting the statues on the lake and climbing the hill in the middle. Cheers. MODU.
This trip through the Goldfields has been a while in the planning and the main mission was to collect caches in at least another 8 Local Government Areas to qualify for a challenge cache recently set up by megawatt60! I didn’t really have a plan on where I would be sleeping and was happy to throw the swag down once the daylight became in short supply. From Kalgoorlie I headed north as far as Leinster with a few deviations along the way. I then headed west through Mt Magnet and then meandered my way back towards Perth. I had GC and GCA caches lined up and tried to grab as many as I could while passing by. Cheers to all the CO’s for the hides and hopefully I can head back one day soon to clean up the caches I wasn’t able to find on this trip. TFTC
