Going for a bit of an extended drive today with the youngest monster chasing some Geocaches. We made it to GZ at Emu Creek where the youngest Monster made a quick find!! TFTC!!
#21693 @1340Heading from Melbourne towards Adelaide targeting challenges, counties, and windmills. Cache easily found. TFTC.
Beautiful spot for a stop. Spent some time looking at the birds and creek. Thanks for the cache
A lovely rural crossing. The waters were well up here a month or so back.
Railway bridge very scenic too.
Cheers

Heading home after catching up with family. Took a slight detour so we could check this out. Almost didn't stop, as we encountered 2 men with guns, as we pulled off to stop. Turned out, they were heading off to do some duck shooting. We sure were relieved. After letting them head off to do, what they were going to do, we were happy to make a quick find and did the signing honors.
Thanks for placing the cache for us to find Emu Creek Gang.

Travelling through these parts today, for one reason or another the muggle man decided this road was the back road Less travelled we would take as our through route today... when we spied this awesome rail bridge, despite there being little room to park our rig we pulled up for a better look - and I was pleased to find this cache was here for the finding too! Thanks for the hide The Emu Creek Gang, it caused me no trouble in finding or with the muggle man, which is always a good thing.
Found It!
A quick find here in the pouring rain. Impressive bridge.

Thanks emucreakgany for the amazing spot to stop and nice easy find and the crossing was also fun to do with my family
Today was a huge day leaving home at 6:30 am and not getting back home until 2:30am the following morning. After we had finished a walk to Boronia Peak we were looking some lighter caches to let our bodies recover.
Leaving the Grampians with the aim of being in Colac at midnight our path took us close enough to make the detour.
This one was such a quick find only one of us made it out of the car which was good on such a cold night.
Thank you o'cholio for the cache

With a 600km 20hr caching day, Simsfamily and Neville Devil and I made an early start.
The weather all day was intermittent showers, fog and blue sky's but it didn't dampen our enthusiasm.
The cache name reminded me of an earlier close call of an emu crossing in the Grampians.
Once at GZ it was a quick find thankfully as it was 2° outside.
Log signed and replaced as found.

Visited as part of my quest for 200 finds in Australia before I go back to the US in June. Cache was almost out of reach but I managed. First finder in 2018, Woot! TFTC!
After doing some cache maintenance in Bambra we set off North west to conquer some unfound caches while also working on our next personal challenge achievement.
We had to drive through the crossing ... not once but twice!
Thanks for another one in the series.

Another great place we would never have found without geocaching. So much to explore and so little time! Thanks Emu Creek Gang.
Our final day holidaying in Warrnambool so we grabbed a cache or two on the way home (with only short detours of course)! Who does love a creek crossing? We enjoyed crossing here with camper and 4WD after finding the cache. Thanks
We always like a railway cache, Chook and I headed down to find the cache and having no luck we turned around to see chunk grinning as he was signing the log.

Enjoyed a day trip exploring the Camperdown area with The Swaggies, and this was one of our stops on the way down. The rain was lifting as we parked the car. Chook and Mr Swaggie were busy looking in the wrong place, while quietly behind their backs Chunk was merrily signing the log. TFTC o'cholio.
Today has been an awesome caching day!! We've traveled down roads and tracks that we've never been on!! We saw an elephant and now an emu! Ahh this is living!! Tftc
A nice spot to have a look around. It's good to see water flowing in the creek. Cigc. Tftc
Literally, it took longer to park, get out of the work van, walk over to the spot I thought it was at than it took to find. TFTC. TNLN. SL. Pity it's pitch black here at 5:40 this morning. Could not see the rail bridge.
Managed a quick find today whilst on our way to Maryborough and we decided to grab a quick few park and grabs as the weather was a little too hot to do much walking. (39 degrees) We over shot the gz but the kids were happy because we had a chance to go through a little gentle water crossing on our wide u turn. The cache was quickly located and we signed the log in the comfort of the air conditioned car. Thanks o'cholio for the cache and for showing us this lovely spot.

Found by Team Ninja 29/11/15, find number 676.
This was the beginning of an epic four day railfanning and geocaching trip to Western Victoria, as far West as Dimboola and as far North as Rupanyup. The initial plan was to chase Sunday morning's steel train from Werribee to Stawell, where we were staying for the first night. The steel train is limited to 80km/h and with the speed limit on most of the roads 100km/h, it results in quite an exciting chase with many parallel sections of road and railway and plenty of great photo opportunities.
Unfortunately we lost the steel train in Geelong and it snuck ahead of us between there and Inverleigh. By the time we realised it was too far ahead of us to catch! So we had a relaxing drive via the back roads to Ararat and Stawell, which gave us the opportunity to find a few geocaches, including this one.
After parking on the opposite side of the bridge I walked the short distance to the cache, contemplating what a good photo opportunity this spot presents! As I crossed the bridge I was delighted to spot a platypus floating on the surface of the creek, which dived underwater after a short while. It's the first one I've seen in the wild.
The GPS had me on the wrong side of the road but I soon discovered the cache. This type of hide drove me crazy when I first started geocaching but with a few more finds under my belt it was a quick discovery. TFTC!

Caching in the area this evening with McLookers and Tomstache. We made sure we pulled well off the road for this one as there was a lot of large farm machinery being moved from field to field in this area taking up the entire road. There was an obvious place for the cache to be and was found in the first place we looked. Spot on coordinates for this one. Thanks for the hide.
Nice old bridge. No trains but a few large trucks today. Enjoyed seeing Mt Elephant in the distance while driving here. Glanville Girls made the find today, thanks o'cholio.
Thanks for this one, nice cache. Big bridge. No trains today but lots of big trucks.
Spiders everywhere but easily found at another great Emu Crossing. Lucky to drive this way today with the Derinallum road closed after that tragic self destruction of the man with bombs and artillery all over his property.
Found It!. Found it while out on a lazy caching run up through the area getting some more finds to ad to our tally thanks O'cholio for bringing us here
Australia Day! A great time to catch up with the family, do a spot of camping and of course find a few caches. We were off to Lake Bolac to spend an extra long weekend of fishing, telling a few stories and a round of golf.
Of course, the fishing and golf provided great fodder for the story telling, the fish that got away or the golf shot that was almost a hole-in-one so a self-perpetuating vicious cycle was created.
However, caches weren’t too far from my mind. While the snores were emanating from the tents in the early morning, I took advantage to zip off and grab a few caches.
Early morning, honestly, is there any better time to go caching? I love early mornings.
Another of the cool bridges of Victoria. Amazing structures. TFTC

Fishing with VKC1SR, he remembered there was a cache here. Great spot!! Unfortunately no fish!!
Found on a drive to Portland for a wedding. This was a nice quick find on the freezing weather. Thanks for the hide O'Cholio.
Sitting here having a fish and then remember there was a cache here. A nice quick find considering the fish weren't on the bit. Found at 1335.

Nice drive out to cache. I hadn't been on this road before, so 1st time I've seen this bridge. I was impressed with the brickwork. Found cache no worries. TFTC o'cholio.
Owning a 4wd I had to take the dirt track and go through the ford!! Great train bridge thanks
Suscoe's first find of today on a trip to the west.
A delightful quiet location and a quick find, no trains today but a threatening sky.
Thanks to o'cholio for bringing us to yet another crossing.

Sorry o'cholio for the generic log but I'm trying to catch up on my logging, I currently have over 1000 to log before hitting some powertrails in the US after the block party next week. As always I enjoy the hunt whether I'm solo or with some of my caching or muggle friends. Thanks to those who have accompanied me to make the day more pleasurable and many thanks o'cholio for placing this cache.
We made a slight detour from the Princess Hwy to have a go at this one.
Knowing the owner, once the GPS was nearing GZ while cruising over the bridge I reckon I knew where it would be, bingo.
Checked out the bridge and signed the log replacing as found.
TFTC Mr O'
Cache condition, good.

We stopped here to take a photo of the cool bridge. "This would be a good place for a cache". Did a check and sure enough, there was one was 5m from where we'd parked. TFTC
Great spot. Must try fishin here. Couple of nesting hawks on the rail bridge. Tftc.
Now that's a railway bridge. Keep todays brickies going for a while.
Quick find, TFTC.

Wow, first find for over a year. A quick find on the way home from Cressy. No trains today, and another down in this series. Thanks for the cache.

Our second stop beside Mount Emu Creek on our quest to follow the Emu Crossing caches toward Warrnambool.
The creek showed signs that it had been exercising some muscle & the new bridges must have been appreciated.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt Emu Creek Gang.

This area was affected far worse than we thought it'd be. The previous cache location is now unrecognisable; the floodwaters of January actually submerged the road bridge and filled most of this valley. New cache now in place.
Offline due to huge flooding of Mt Emu Creek. While the cache might survive, it's probably better not to come anywhere near this area for a while.
Found with Mum & Dad.
This one was cool.
I didn't go down to the rocks but dad did and found the cache.

The recent flooding hasn't displaced this cache.
It was sitting safe and sound in its hidey hole.
The railway bridge is very cool.
Thanks for showing us another great spot.

Offline due to the flooding of the Creek. http://www.standard.net.au/multimedia/15208/94988/the-southwest-flood-part-ii.aspx. We'll put it back up when we confirm the cache is still there.
Found by Mary & David at 1515. Mary's Dad, during his teaching days at Darlington, would often tell this story. "The new policeman asked a speeding motorist where he was heading. The motorist said "To Vite Vite". No reaction from the policeman, so the motorist said "Near Pura Pura". Still no reaction, so he added "Near Nerrin Nerrin". This was too much for the Officer, who replied "Well, you'd better Hurry Hurry". We were lucky enough to see a train and get a photo. Great water views too. Our thanks to The Emu Creek Gang.
Found the cache today at 12.30pm with beanie An impressive rail bridge over the
creek but didn't see any trains today
Grabbed a Travel Bug and a pig Left a little frog
Thanks The Emu Creek Gang for the cache

Our third find for the day on our way out west caching adventure. We were even lucky enough to see a train heading west but were too slow with the camera. Our dog enjoyed a splash in the creek and we enjoyed watching a young family of ducklings heading up stream. Left a travelbug and a pig, took nil, SL TFTC
A slight detour off our scenic route to Warnambool soon had us admiring the railway bridge. We can't remember seeing another one constructed in this manner..At gz we found the going a little slippery after the decent rains of yesterday but managed to avoid the loose rocks and any unpleasantness that may have followed. The cache was found in the third place we looked and we were again rewarded with a blank first page
Thanks once more O'cholio for the cache
