Two years since the last find and a swarm of dnfs with no action from the CO, must be time for this to go
This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.
My seccond attempt here. First time was short one ... today had bit of time. Arrived on my bike. Close to GZ. Had about 10 minutes search. No luck.
I was to be nearby getting some work done on my car for a few hours so naturally looked if there were any caches in the area.
This was cache two today and took A LOT of searching. Eventually a combination of walking the co-ords and reading old logs led me to roughly the right area for eventual surprising success.

Went on an adventure with Wafflekitties had a blast thanks for the memories! TFTC.
Definitely wasn't where I was expecting! Took a good 10mins or so to find. Tftc
#3227. Today I headed out around the city to pick up quite a few challenge caches and any other traditionals that happened to be nearby. Caching on a public holiday is useful as the traffic is quite light in the city and the nearby businesses were all closed. So was able to park nearby and headed up to find the cache. I initially spent quite a bit of time searching in all the wrong places. Did give those a pretty thorough search. After about 10 minutes decided it had to be somewhere else so read a few previous logs. Those gave me another idea and when I searched in that area I spied the cache hiding spot immediately. Nice to get this one signed off. Good hide. The log was dry enough to sign. Replaced the cache as found. Thanks for hiding it here. Note while reading back through some past logs it seems this cache has moved from one type of hiding spot to another. Hopefully the CO knows where it is now situated!!
This is my second visit to this cache, although I've just realised that I didn't log my DNF.... weird, I'm sure I remember writing it. Anyway, I really needed to find this cache today for my GIO Licence, as I wanted to finish today and move on to the next stage. So, having called my friend Stiik-a-crane after the last attempt and being graciously given a good hint, I pulled up and began the hunt. Luckily there was no-one around, being the middle of the working day on a Monday, and so I was free to hunt without strange looks.
Up and down I went, poking and prodding at all sorts of spots, testing out theories and looking for something that matched the hint I had been given. But no joy. Defeated, I returned to the car, and called Stik-a-crane one more time. Unfortunately he didn't answer, so I resolved to have my lunch, and then head off. But he called back 2mins later, having just been on a phone call. We discussed exactly where I had looked, and he told me exactly where he had found it, so I returned for one more look. At this point, I figured out where it should have been, but it was gone. In desperation, I grabbed a stick and began digging in the ground, brushing leaves and loose clumps of dirt aside. Then all of a sudden, what do you know? I caught sight of a familiar object..... it was the cache!!! It had been buried in the dirt!!!
Signed the log and replaced it where I was certain it should have been, covering with a bit of natural camo that was handily lying around.
Stik-a-crane wondered if it had been knocked out by a lawnmower or something? I agree with him- where it is hiding can be easily bumped, and it wouldn't take much to disturb the camo I have covered the cache with- it was pretty loose, but I did the best I could.
Hope this one stays put a little bit longer at least!

We were on our way to another geocache and since we were close to the intersection near this geocache we took a slight detour to see if we could find it. Like others I was climbing and circling and otherwise getting very confused. Geowife was not one to put too much stock in hints and descriptions and just looked for where she would put one if she wanted to be tricky and sure enough, while I was hanging out of a tree I heard the cry of "zhaodaole!" (found it).
We signed the log and put it back in its tiny little holder and hide. Don't know if that is where the CO had in mind for it to live but it is certainly a cunning hide. All clean, dry and in good condition here. TFTC.

I was in the area and was intrigued by this one with the latest DNF's and thought it might be cool to actually find this cache hide.... Parked close by and began the search, luckily having the area all to myself...checked all the logical spots and some of the not so logical spots... was just about to call for the DNF, when something caught my eye and sure enough it was the cache ... not exactly where the hint might have suggested.....
Signed log, returned the cache to where it might remain safe...Great little hide, even though i don't believe it was found where it was supposed to be...

Don't know if no one is visiting this cache or they just aren't logging their dnfs. We spent a long time here - 40 mins or so. I climbed lots of different trees, reaching and feeling and poking and prodding various little hidey holes but no luck and I'm thoroughly filthy now. Would be nice to have this confirmed that it's still here since it's been nearly a year since last found.
After 30 Min of climbing searching circling and circling we had to pull ourselves away
Yay tricky. Only one muggle went past and she thought it was good fun throwing a kid into a tree! I've decided that kids are good cover for this game. Unfortunately mine are not as into it as me
I decided this afternoon to visit a few caches in Auckland to complete my months found calendar. So I mainly targeted some old caches and there are a lot in this area !
The weather is pretty nice and I will not need my rain coat and enjoyed the sun nearly all over the afternoon. Only issue in winter : at 5pm, the sun has disappeared and I used a light to find the 2 last caches of the day !
First cache cache this morning and it was not the easiest one. Location is clear, hint is clear but the small container is cleverly hidden ! It took me more than 10 minutes to find it.
All is in good condition.

Thank goodness I can cross this one off my to do list, I was resigned to not finding it once again but persisted with the addition of 2 more pairs of garball eyes. I went over all the old ground and finally laid my hands or should I say fingers on it, hoooorrrayyyyyy. Thanks for the hide Gadget-tron

We were out on a mission with casaba3 and this cache had been eluding her (a few times) and me (once) so had to make a stop while we had extra eyes with us. In the end it was casaba3 who found the elusive cache - good on you sis! Tricky wee hide with my Garmin Etrex20 still bouncing around and not getting us to pinpoint GZ. A frustrating hide we can now lay to rest with a smile on the map! Thanks Gadget-tron!
Had a very long walk from work to get to here and got there and there was someone sitting where I wanted to search aarrrggghh, so walked a bit further and had a go at the mig cache, no luck there either, so headed back to work another hours walk away lol, and stopped by again and the muggle had gone but time was running out so going on previous logs knew I would need some luck especially my first visit here but took a clue from a previous log and armed with my trusty garmin I found the cache within the first minute of searching.

So many trees to search, but which is the right one? Impossible to tell with the gps jumping all over the place.
Got bounced around a little by the GPS but on viewing a satellite image we were able to narrow down the search area and came up with the cache very quickly. We particularly liked the sealed bottle of beer which one of the trees has claimed for its own, happily growing around it, sticking it fast!
lokky1 had been here before and had no luck so I came along to help.
gps on the phone was a little vague, but the garmin soon had a more accurate location.
a search of that area soon had it in hand. nice little hiding spot! thanks

Took us a little longer than it should have as gps was all over the place. Sneaky hide Tftc.
We had done some shopping nearby, and so convinced rebel98 that he needed to return! After a short search the cache was found, another tricky hide. Thanks for the cache.
Finally found it on at least my third visit ....Ric was really determined this time , and he saw it first with a bit of elevation . Was lovely to finally have it in my hand and cross it off the "tricky " list ! TFTC
The season may be over for the warriors but after a couple of visits finally scored a touchdown with the cache. Tricky hide. TFTC.
Took the scenic route to Mt Eden with Pa5key and looked for this one on the way passed. No luck today - GPS had us all over the place and stolen credit cards were found but no cache. TFTH Gadget-tron
Out for an afternoon of fresh air, sunshine and, oh, geocaching! Have driven past this cache many, many times and have not had a chance to stop so great to be with BBDAMN, who is heaps more experienced than me! OK, so for this one the experience didn't help so it's a blue sad face for us today. Will give this another go and see how I go. Did find some stolen credit cards and the owner was incredibly happy to get them back (lovely chocolates to say thank you) so wasn't a complete loss. TFTC - will try again when have a few more under my belt!
My first visit here ...phone GPS leading me round in circles ....which tree ????????
Do I need to climb for this one I wonder ?
Do I need to climb for this one I wonder ?
This cache had us climbing trees and looking all over the place even, with a kick in the right direction could not find it. Dont know about the Warriors 21 win either more like a 42 warrior lost in the end got the cache TFTC
Decided to try this on a non match day, geodog had a run around the park and once I had the right tree, from owners logs, cache was surprisingly quick. Hoping this is a good omen when the Warriors take on the Roosters tomorrow, I am picking a 21 point win to the Warriors. tftc
Second visit was a DNF even though I thought I ferreted, fossicked, fumbled and otherwise floundered around all the likely places.
Third visit to find this tricky little cache and my persistence paid off. I would love to boast "soon had the cache in hand" but there was no soon about it - I was back where I started on visit one and where I had revisited and revisited, was thinking there was no where left to look and "surprise" the cache was in my hand.
Thank you for the challenge.

Why did the geocacher climb the tree? Answer encrypted below.
Was impressed with myself when I actually climbed a tree, having never done this before. Then I decided I really didn't know how to get down so was even more impressed when I got back to terra firma without falling there. Didn't know my body could get into a position like that.

Driving past with slieschke tonight (well, very early this morning I suppose) and I mentioned I had not yet found this one, so with a nudge in the right direction I could finally bag the smiley here. TFTC!!!
YES. Go the Warriors! Found it this time. Was hunting by torch light in the end. Glad I didn't need to come back for this one another time. Height appears to be an advantage when playing for The Warriors. And on another note, it's the first genuine home game for The Warriors this weekend?
Found on second attempt after a hint from Vamber as to which tree to search. Really don't know how we didn't find this on our first attempt, I am sure we looked there!! Glad to tick this one off! TFTC
Have had more DNFs on this than the Warriors have had losses! Maybe the find will help change their luck too. Needed a big prod to score this one. TFTC
Yay! Finally found this tricky hide (armed with a hint about which tree which helped narrow my search and avoid the GPSr bounce dance).
Thanks!
Thanks!
Not surprising we didn't find this one, it was dark and only had the light from the GPS, could narrow down to ONLY 3 trees!! Will have to come back when it is lighter or with torch, at least there was no one around
No luck today-------------------------------

I have no idea how I didn't find this before. It's not even that hard?!? I reckon it's a bit like the Warriors, when they're on form they make it look so easy, but when they're off, man they're reeeeeally off. Having said that, I can't take much credit for this find. Had a hint from a previous finder (thanks dagonNZ!) and recruited my geo-padawan em.kershaw to help and she had it in under a minute. Unbelievable. Must be my training. Let's gone Warriors!
We found it! McArgister and I went on an early morning mission. I'm not sure i would have found that one without his clues, he had the location spot on and with a streak of luck we got it very quickly. TFTC!
Searched and climbed all over the place to no luck. I guess DNFing this on the first attempt is a rite of passage of sorts on this cache! ;O
Searched and searched but no luck. We had to eventually give up. Lots of trash (and other suspect stuff) made the searching for this cache not too pleasant
#!*^#! I must have searched that spot 3 or 4 times completely missing it. Found it on my last effort as I was just about to concede defeat due to time restraints 1 last scratch and hey what's this. Great hide had a great time searching for this one. GO THE MIGHTY WARRIORS - UNION SUX LEAGUE RULES
After some hints that perhaps we were searching about the wrong tree, we thought we would reattempt this one! A good scuff about, we still weren't able to find the blasted thing! So a quick PAF and a nudge in the right direction, we FINALLY located the cache. What a frustrating cache, so we are very glad to have finally put our hands on it! TFTC
Have attempted this cache a few times before without much success. Today, we returned with a previous finder of the cache to determine whether we we searching in the right place, however even they weren't able to locate it. I was wondering if this could be checked to ensure the cache is still there?
Looked and looked and then waited for aaaaaaaaages for a smoking muggle to move off- thought he must've been puffing on the whole pack! But he eventually moved on and I could continue my search. Still found nothing but then the GPS wasn't being very useful in pin pointing a search area. Will be back!!
Back for another go. Still no joy. Sure I've found GZ but no smiley for me …yet!
Came back for a 2nd look....Climbed the tree, search one part, no joy, but I wanted to search the outside, so I jumped down, got my foot caught in the process and nearly broke my ankle on the fall!!
Got back up and limped around....not broken....Thank goodness.
Back searching again.....then struck gold...well....silver in this case.
Cache found....glad to get this one off my to do list.
Cheers

I knew the chances of us finding it were slim...but we had to give it a shot!
We spent about 30 minutes trying to find it, but no luck this time....will come back another day.

The little one & I needed to get out the house, so we jumped in the car and had a go at a hard one. She enjoyed scratching tree bark while she was in the front pouch. I enjoyed scratching around trees. No joy today though. Probably spent 20 minutes searching. Will be back again soon! Thanks for a challenging hide!
Took a bit of searching as gps wasnt playing ball under the trees today but soon had it in hand, log disitergrated in my hand as it is wet and in need of replacing, TFTC.
Searched for a while to no avail. Difficulty is about right!!

A lovely day for caching and a lovely hide.
GPSr took me to the wrong tree at first. Once I figured that out I had the sneaky little bugga in hand rather quickly.
The log is quite damp and very fragile as the Oring is missing
Thanks for bringing me here and all the caching fun

FINALLY got it... woooooHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Have been here a couple of times before... and this one has always eluded me [B)]
Was having a bit of a tiki tour on the surface streets today... didn't feel like taking the motorway home and I was driving past and the area was pretty much completely deserted... figured it was my best chance to have a good look.
So I did... I looked... and I looked... and I looked some more...
Was about to give up, and figured I would double check my co-ords and location one last time... was 99.99% sure I had GZ right... so had one last scratch and... what is that? Could it be? YES! IT COULD!
Soooooo glad to finally have this one ticked off! TFTC
ps. The log is a little damp and somewhat fragile... and my pen wasn't the greatest... the owner or next visitor might like to think about a replacement log sheet.

Doing some chores in the area. Only had about 10mins to look, and didn't manage to find.
3rd time lucky. Found with Geco72 on a Friday morning cache raid. Gutted that Geco72 found it so quickly after taking me three attempts, but pleased to have knocked it off all the same. TFTC.
Had breakfast with Davycrockpot before work and he asked me to help him find this one that had alluded him to date...had it in hand in 5min
This one has been on my to-do list for a long time and I say to myself that every time I drive by. Good hide. Log sheet getting soft, worn and tattered but still serviceable. Tftc.
Found after a short search . Understandably my Gps signal not the best but I'm pleased to have found this given the diff. rating
Thx for the hide

GRRR! GPS had us going literally in circles. couldnt get a fix or any decent accuracy. tried a few places in and around GZ but had to abandon for another day as time was ticking on
Second time lucky with finding this one. GPS was again, bouncing around all over the place so we weren't certain which tree it was. We just narrowed down a group of trees it could be and started the search. Eventually, i found the cache hidden in a tree which i had looked over about three times. Not hidden particularly hard, just sitting there. We are glad to have this one off the list! TFTC!
I am rapidly gathering a strong disliking for this particular cache. 2nd DNF for me this afternoon.
Fourth time lucky. This time day light savings was on my side. Very glad it is now ticked off. TFTC
Found it within a minute this time, gps co ordinates accurate, don't know why has so much difficulty the last few times

I was almost foiled again by some muggle enjoying his lunch break on the seat nearby. Took me much less searching than last time. Log slightly damp, but still legible and able to be written on.
Stopped by to check on this cache this morning. Though it took a little scratching about, cache is still there, exactly where I remember finding it. Come on guys, it is D3.5, it isn't supposed to be easy. Forget about archiving, its time to turn those into .
Cheers,

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 21 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.
It could still be there you know... Wouldn't be the first time this cache has had a string of DNFs while still happily sitting there silently laughing at us...
Have driven past this cache many times so while in the area today, finally got around to stopping and taking a look. Unfortunately I was probably too late... After a bit of a search around the area, checked with a previous finder who indicated a spot I had already searched, so I think it's gone.
After a nearby find, decided to have a crack at this one. Spent ages looking for it and when saw Mrs snakelion missed call on my cell, I knew it was time for me to flag it for now. I shall be back here for this one.
Scratched around in lots of leaf litter and even climbed up tree which gps indicated but no joy
had one more look cant find it, any other hints, or anyone can confirm it is still there ?
Another dnf
I'm
Not sure if it's too hard or if. It's gone second attempt at this one and stil no luck

Have increased the difficulty rating on this one given the low GPS accuracy under the dense tree cover.
Ok, this was hard. First attempt was foiled by a random police petrol car pulling up...so pretended to stretch and causally walked away...Second attempt we zeroed in on a few likely spots but this thing is small and luckily one member of the team is more thorough than the other ...I think we were lucky !
