We had planned to take Geodog Penny on a caching trip to Wedderburn to get all those that we did not yet have. She has been missing out lately and has been unable to attend our caching days we have had, so today is her day out.
Heading out to do the Addams Family Series, that we have heard so much about and now we are finally doing it. Somehow we missed the tree and while we were looking around to see which one it was we discovered that we were standing right on top of the cache, so to speak.

TFTC. We decided to stay another day in Wedderburn to explore to the north around the Granite Hills and Korong Vale. Using caching as a guide.
We used to watch the Addams family in our youth, and then watched the repeats as the children grew up. A great series. We were not impressed with the Addams family movie. It was just not the same.
Thanks for reminding us and bringing us out this way.

Once again the intrepid trio, dalerious, Muggle Hubby and I, ventured forth, to attempt this cache. Locating the tree, and consequently the cache, was successful. However we didn't locate the eagles nest, a disappointment! Not to be deterred, we continued on to the next of this series. Loving the places it is taking us to, luckily we were upwind of the dead roo carcass at ground zero.

Out today on a country road trip to fill in some LGA's and explore the countryside.
Sun came and and it really heated up - great to explore some new spots!
The heat was starting to kick in so glad not a big bush bash in the scub. A nice spot for the twisted cousin!
Thanks old blokes - love your work!

Loving this show as a child , these caches were a must do for us this weekend. So we set off with TR! and honeysucker for the Addams Family series in The Granites Nature Reserve after a bite to eat in town , picking up a few in and around the area as we went. Unfortunately we didn't sight any eagles today but certainly had no problems with the cache. Added a new log book.
Thans to the old blokes for the placement.

This series looked like a bit of fun, seeing we both loved the TV Series and Movies. So this was a definate for today.
Teamed up with TheTritonz today, and we had a lot of fun. There was laughter, fun and snorting to boot.

Travelling around Australia with our Cat.
Staying a few days in St Arnaud, today we decided to head back up towards Wedderburn and find some more caches.
Pretty cold today with a minus 2degrees start and only 0.4 at 9am. Didn't deter us though a great day out touring.
Hmm you Old Blokes, don't seem to be as OLD as your implying [?] Or are we getting older and hadn't noticed [?] This was also one of our favourite shows.
Thanks for placing your cache to assist with our touring of the area, and feeding our geoaddiction. the old blokes

Was a great hiding spot! Another great hiding spot enjoying your caches. Camping with my sister and have been finding them this morning.
A weekend in Wedderburn caching with the Sisterhood of the Cargo Pants brought us to this cache. tye track we originally took wouldn't have bothered us too much in the Patrol but the Geogetters Kluger may have protested a bit much so after some backtracking we found another way. Well, I thought the track looked like it continued from Morticia to Pugsley up towards the tower, but after driving along the narrow, rocky track, we thought we'd better turn around as the track got a bit hairy! So we retraced our steps back to this cache. TFTC
Find number three for this series and a short walk along the animal tracks soon had me at the cache. Such a lovely day for this series.
What a massive old tree it must have taken a long time. Another short walk to wrap up this great series. Thanks again for all the hard work you have put in to caching for us all.
Read in a previous log that wildflowers are abundant here in the spring, so will return then. Today we walked to GZ and found the cache all in good order, thanks
Thanks for this one, easy find when we worked out the right spot.

This was the final cache of the Addams Family series for us, and the last one before the dinner event too. Another little walk, but an easy find once there. We have really enjoyed this series and the journey around this spectacular little reserve. Thank you Old Blokes.
nice easy one, which pleased the kids after the lengthy search for the last one. TFTC
We came to Wedderburn for the 2 events and stayed a couple of nights to make the most of the weekend caching time.

I love to go, a wandering, across the.......you get the idea.
I pulled the car up at the recommeded parking spot and went wandering through to Cousin Itt. It really is an amazing landscape. Perhaps it is the recent rains but I notice that there is a carpet of wildflowers coming up.

We headed off yesterday with a plan to head TOWARDS Horsham, but as our trips are generally slow (based on how many smilies we collect on the way) we made it to Charlton after dark, so this was our stop for the night.
Charlton cleaned up, the question of where to head next? Having attended the Wedderburn event earlier in the year, we knew there were some out of town caches we hadn't attempted, so decision that would would do the Mash & Addams family series.
Great directions and a quick find after a short stroll. TFTC SL

A quick park & grab on the way out of the park.
The nest is still there, but appears to have been deserted as the sticks aren't as thick as the GZ photo.
Exchanged some swaps for the gk mini-dalek.

Found with bogonghazy whilst in town for the days Events and a weekend of quality caching. My sincere thanks to the old blokes for providing us with many memorable caches, and the work and effort they put into their hides. Well done!
Quick find here this time, and yes, it really is peaceful out here.
I also agree it is indeed a wedgies nest.
Thanks again TOB

After coming into the park proper after Morticia, drove along the road until the needle pointed a right angles, parked and took the pleasant walk up to this cache, which was found quickly. Nice view from here too. Thanks to the old blokes for this one.
Found after a nice little walk through the bush. Log is damp.

A great cache in the bush. Easy find. Took police car Left pack of cards. TFTC.
Sorry the old blokes for the generic log but I'm trying to catch up on my logging, I currently have over 1000 to log before hitting some powertrails in the US after the block party next week. As always I enjoy the hunt whether I'm solo or with some of my caching or muggle friends. Thanks to those who have accompanied me to make the day more pleasurable and many thanks the old blokes for placing this cache.
getting a bit dark now, this might be my last one for the day as im not to familiar with the area, another quality hide, TNLN SL, TFTC
I'm starting to recognize Old Blokes style hides. The cache had some water in it, log intact though a little moist. Left gold balloon, took glass shell. tftc.
Found by Mary & David at 1240. We managed to find some lunch in town then proceeded out here. TomTom wanted to lead us astray again up a dead-end road, so we ignored him and took another road a bit further on, and made our way into the park. Lots of cactus plants about with intimidating thorns - surely they shouldn't be here. Arriving at GZ we even had some sunshine! That's some nest - the photo doesn't do it justice. Our thanks to the old blokes.

totaly parked in wrong spot and approached from other side but cords were spot on for the GZ

A big weekend away up north west was had which took in just over 100 caches, including 4 First to Finds, about 1000 days towards the Unloved Cache Challenge (GC3KWWQ) and some really fun adventures both solo and with new and old friends. Topped off with a great well attended event cache at Wedderburn.. (with yummy food too) Thanks to all the various cache owners along the way and my apologies upfront for the copy / paste style logging of those 100 odd caches.. Some of the Caches hadn't been found for between 6months and 18months which added greatly to my 15 years required for GC3KWWQ.. Thanks..
Many of the caches were a blur and thus there isn't too much I can add from an individual cache log point of view, my apologies to the cache owners who each have put a lot of effort into their respective hides..
I arrived here with the plan of spending the night.. after grabbing a few of these ones which were quite unloved (no finds for at least 6months) After a good nights sleep witha fresh mind I was able to find Son of Telstra..
Thanks The Old Blokes for an awsome assortment of new and old caches and a wonderful event.

We were hoping to complete the Addams family series before the evening event because we had heard that the steaks were huge in Wychitella and we needed the exercise. The ghostly trees along this part of the road helped to create the scene before us. It was however good to see the young saplings sprouting from the old ones in many places. Had a bit of trouble with the coords and in the end Daff found the cache using her initiative. TFTC old blokes.
No doubt about it - 'Cousin Itt' was my favourite of the TV Series. Some unkind ones have stated that 'Itt' looked and sounded like me. True, maybe' but I can sing better and I wonder if 'Itt' can Geocache as badly as me - not many do, if any. Another cross country ramble to nab this one and well worth the effort too. Thank you again to 'the old blokes' for the cache and its location. In the company of 'The Comrades'. TNLN.
I had been wanting to do these for a while and today was finally it, after having been rained out a few months ago. This was a nice easy start.
6th find of the day, and 2748th total find at 12:41.
Another great day of caching the area with the Morris and RobMc
We watched the Adams Family when we were younger, and tried to find a similarity between the character and the hide.
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Dropped TB

Cousin Itt sprang to mind as my navigator was muttering and making high pitched sounds by the time we arrived at the park
A nice walk across the green park soon restored the mood.

Our first DNF for 2011
We didn't have the photo, and assumed (wrongly) that this was an offset cache placement.
We walked to the co-ords given AND then proceeded 50m towards the Telstra Tower
We looked for a while but in 35c heat we gave up.
Getting back home, we now realise that we had started from cache GZ!!!
Oh well- next time
Thanks for bringing us to this peaceful area

The Grasshopper enjoyed his first geocaching experience today. We found 5 caches for the day. I like the easy ones to find in lovely bush areas. We did no swaps. TFTC
Another interesting area. Unfortunately the Cache-Hounds could not get out of the car here, as dogs are not allowed to roam the ground. Found the Eagles nest, still intact. Found chache also, signedlog and left a little racing car. Thanks to The Old Blokes.
After grabbing the cache we took out time to enjoy the tree's. Some interesting specimens. TFTC.
This is a fantastic granite park and I'm so glad that we came here for four wonderful bush caches.

We were up this way and decided to check out a few caches on the way home, and it turned out to be a very successful afternoon.
Great spot here and we had a peaceful wander through the grasslands. Plenty of march flies about today, I will be glad when April arrives!

Being fans of the Addam's family we both had a different idea of what was going to be at gz. It turns out that we were both wrong. Once parked we took a nice easy walk to gz where the cache was located in the second place we looked. Now off to see if we can find any other members of the family

I got up nice and early this morning before the Event so I could head out to Boort and find some of the caches in the area. This was the first cache on my list and as it was still dark I was treated to a magical lightening display as I headed North. I can't recall seeing the sky light up so regularly for so long (and I'm glad it past me by!) No problems finding the cache and Cousin Itt was greeted.
Many thanks!

Found by Roma and Max in the company of tigersden.
Having parked at your recommended spot we were heading in to the additional co-ordinates you have provided when tigersden arrived.
It is always a pleasant experience to meet up with fellow searchers and after introductions we all proceeded to follow your directions.
At this point in time it we struck a hiccup.
As we had the only copy of the webpage with photos, which we had printed prior to departing Mildura this morning, (at some ungodly hour), nothing in the immediate vicinity seemed to resemble the flora we were seeking, although we must admit the page had only printed in B&W!
Using the images and skirting further afield Andrew discovered the tree where we should start from and in short time he had the container in hand enabling our group to record a find.
Thank you Brian and Bob for bringing us back to this impressive granite Mt.

WOOOHOOO our second FTF for the day.
We actually were on our way down from finding Son of Telstra and Puggsley and we saw a vehicle parked where we were about to park.
We both said at the same time that it must be ROMAX.
So off we went and met the famous couple.
We searched this one together and after turning GZ upside down we came to the conclusion that GZ musn't be GZ.
GeoHub had worked out that theoldblokes had posted the wrong coords on the cache note.
So back to the drawing board and within minutes GeoHub had found the cache, then came over to where we were turning the other tree inside out and proceeded to tell us we were at the wrong spot. So we went over and looked at the other spot and the rest of us soon found the cache.
Thanks for bringing us out here again, we had a ball.
