Well, that was an adventure, looked so many times and today we finally found it. Yeehheee! I was checking for disc golfer who were numerous and coming up the hill unexpected. No one saw us and the logbook was signed and returned. TFTC

07-Nov-24
Beautiful day today, very warm and sunny. We decided to avenge this cache knowing it is there. We'll, all these times we were in the right place, just not using all our senses in all the directions. Container found, signed. Thanks for the cache and support LaVista.

12-Sep-24
Came by to check the cache. Pleased to see it is still in the original position. The tree has grown so it's a bit tigher

29-Aug-24
Stopped by late afternoon, it was super windy. Had a good look around, looked in spots we already looked a few times... Still no luck for us today, we shall return. There is something we don't get about this cache...

24-Dec-23
No luck

03-Dec-23
Think we've found the object it's hidden in but couldn't see, feel, or reach the cache. It's our first Geocache.

04-Nov-23
Nope Sad

No luck today may come another day At least we think we know the location.

18-Mar-23
I've been here countless times to try and find this one, but every time there have been muggles doing their various activities - duck feeding, frisbee golf, but mostly tai chi. I was surprised that the solved coordinates weren't in the GPS so I decided to work it out again with the new sign just to ensure where I had been previously was correct. Hallelujah - today I had the place to myself and found the cache by touch rather than sight. It feels soooo good to finally have my name in the logbook here after so many visits. TFTC # 18,892

27-Feb-23
After realising i didn't have as thinner arms as I thought I did I finally got this one! Dodged a few flying objects between signings thank you for this multi La Vista Smile

07-Feb-23
I spent almost as long trying to retrieve the cache as find it in the first place (almost)
It is certainly well attached and hopefully not going anywhere in a hurry.
Coordinates were good for me and I briefly saw a bit of the container camo on my 2nd pass, then broke a wee sweat trying to get it out

I've never been very far into this park before and I found some lovely spots- particularly the pond area.

Thanks for this multi- I needed something fairly quick after work today and this was just the cache

10-Jan-23
Well it is third time lucky for us here finally. We took photo of sign and had friends solve the questions to check our result but all got the same as us. Came today to try again and did a wider circle and thoroughly again. We were 20m from GZ. Couldn't believe it, I felt the cache rather then saw it. Very happy to sign this log today. A very clever hide indeed, thanks for the cache La Vista.

06-Jan-23
After a DNF and no finds for a while. Had a check and the cache is still there, safe and secure. Had to dodge a few flying saucers and time the visit between sessions. It wasn't so busy when I placed the cache.

06-Jan-23
Another long visit, this time came with previous finder busy paws. We ended up dodging the flying saucers but the trees provided good shelter. Did a complete circuit of all hint items incase. Checked what we thought we were looking for with busy paws but still evading us. Will put on watchlist and see what happens.

04-Jan-23
Enjoyed getting the info and the walk to GZ. Spent quite a long while searching, re checking and searching. Seems to be the norm for this one so will be back. Reluctantly gave up to try again.

19-Aug-22
Cleverly hidden! Was about to give up when I decided to have one last look and managed to put my hand on it! TFTC!

23-Jul-22
Daughter at a swimming competition at Jellie Pool so thought I better grab this while they were doing warmups. Quickly got what looked like sensible coordinates. Not so quick at finding the cache. This one was done more by feel than eyes. Got there in the end with a very sneaky and clever hide. You must have had fun trying to set this up. Thanks for the multi and a deserved favourite point.

06-Mar-22
Nearly gave up on this one then had another look in a spot I had checked and there it was. Lots of UFO flying around today

21-Feb-22
Coordinates changed from:
S 43° 30.414 E 172° 34.760

Coordinates changed to:
S 43° 30.404 E 172° 34.770

Distance from original: 75.3 feet or 23.0 meters.

There have been many changes made in this area, especially at the start of this multicache. New sign, new location so recalculations to final GZ are required.

21-Feb-22
New start coords, new calculations.

20-Feb-22
Please note there are new start coords, new calculations, same GZ but please beware of flying hazards in peak times.

23-Dec-21
The original sign has been replaced & relocated, so will need to rework this multi. Thanks to knotsobsessed for advising at the recent event, after which we went to check.

19-Dec-21
*Sign has been removed*
I'm still on the hunt for this 1 (as the final keeps giving me the slip) but I noticed yesterday that the sign this 1 starts at has been removed so currently there's no starting point for the info on this cache...

17-Aug-21
This was our first time with geocache and we worked out the new coordinates but wasn't able to find the cache. My little daughter was rather disappointed. Maybe it has been removed, or maybe we just don't really know how these things are hidden? Cheers

07-Aug-21
Search for along while but don’t think our brains are engaged! We will be back

26-Jul-21
Was finding another cache nearby and remembered Sir Belac and I had solved this one on a previous trip so decided to have another crack. It was where we had thought it was last time, managed to get a finger tip on it and after a couple of attempts I managed to get it out and passed to Nanzie for signing.

26-Jul-21
Out caching with paddle chick had wait for a few muggles to leave so we could get the cache .PC managed to retrieve it .Thanks for this multi La Vista

After an awesome morning waking the Tiromoana track (I highly recommend it)..which was my main mission for a last minute trip to chch .
After calling for dry socks and shoes at my "jucy pod" it was time to get a few close by...
Over a year since my last attempt at this one...under the cover of darkness I gave it another go...no low flying UFOs to deal with so could search without dodging things..definitely wasnt a quick find but I got it eventually...exactly where I looked last time...put back as I found ...tftc

30-Apr-21
We stopped on our way home from the Goynes and today we had success. We were in the right spot last week and were a couple of inches away from the cache and can’t believe that we missed it. Very clever hide.

29-Apr-21
YAY ! Happily turned this one into. smiley. Dip is about right but there are ups and downs. Met up with a delightful young couple who were frisbying around us, they thought our hobby sounded pretty good! TFTC and happy dance! Cool

24-Apr-21
Just checked the cache in between the procession of disc golfers!
Glad to report the cache is still there. All I can say it's not a "usual" hide

21-Apr-21
Adding my voice to the others. Lytteltonwitch and I gave the search about 25 mins, we just could not find or see anything that matched with the hint. We acknowledge that the CO is a really good cache hider too. however, this stretched the imagination!! Would appreciate a location check sometime soon!

15-Jan-21
We came on Thursday to enjoy the pool, we then walked to do the maths. Today, we went to find it. After reading the description again, "ADD the numbers to the coordinates", we went to the right location, it made more sense, but after 30 minutes we still couldn't find anything. We went and grabbed our lunch. We watched some disc-golfer. One of them offered a disc to little cacher, who then tried throwing it, while I looked again for the cache. I didn't block any arm, but mails were quite dirty, and no luck for us today. Sent pictures to CO so she can confirm if we were looking in right spot. We had fun, nice park, we saw a duck dipping into the pool, swimming in the lane, on the right side!

07-Nov-20
Tftc Almost got hit with UFO

18-Oct-20
Searched but could not find anything

18-Oct-20
Searched for awhile and couldn't find anything.

19-Jun-20
Sir Belac and I were on our way to Nunweek for his first school hockey game of the season and had a couple of minutes to spare. Sat in the warm car to work out the coordinates then a quick walk to the final. I'm pretty sure I know where it is but he was getting cold and worried we would be late so had to leave it. We werent there long enough to call it a DNF.

16-May-20
I have looked for this one a few times without success. A previous finder confirmed that I was in the right place and I just needed to look harder.
Today I had Mr B with me which was fortunate as I spotted the cache from one angle and he then retrieved it while I gave encouragement!
So glad to have this one off my list at last! TFTC.

14-Mar-20
I tried to get this one while on a trip out to the park by bike. I made a small blunder on the numbers but a quick correction with verification from the checksum steered me to some very likely co-ordinates. I had a good look in many locations. There seemed like a few good hiding spots but I couldn't find cache. The park is so beautiful. I'll be back with some frisbees & gps soon to have an another go.

07-Mar-20
I had collected the info on an earlier date and went in to make the find today. I spotted it and began to think I might have to come back another day better prepared. Fortunately I managed to get a hand to it. Thanks Smile

07-Mar-20
Called past a second time, it was slightly cooler therefore not so many UFO's flying past, or throwers waiting for us to move from the throw zone. We had an idea of what we thought we were looking for, but it turned out slightly different than expected. Enjoyable find. TFTC

Back in the big city for another weekend ...not keen on p and gs while driving the city streets alone prefer to park up and walk an area...

Getting the numbers was the easy part find the cache was another matter .. having read a lot of other logs I was 99%sure I was in the right place but never got a bite ... didn't fancy getting my arm stuck so will have to return once I know it's there ...

02-Jan-20
We found this while out with Ilmari_the_Red. Once we had put the coordinates in and had crossed the park we examined two possible final locations before focusing on a third, where we had to reach into a narrow space for the lucky dip and feel around. And, yes, there it was! Such a lovely spot here near the lake and ducks. Favourite. TFTC!

02-Jan-20
Trifolia Argentea and I made a nice walk in the park in pursuit of this cache. The coords were easy to determine from the sign; a little harder was finding the actual container, but TA fished around in the right places and soon had it in hand. At GZ, we did have to move to avoid a curious kind of muggle I'd not encountered before: frisbee players!

Thanks for the cache! Smile

28-Aug-19
Took a bit of searching but gottem! Tftc

17-Jul-19
Looked and looked, couldn't find anything though

10-May-19
I have been visiting GZ on and off for a year now. It was a bit ambitious as a newbie to take on this cache but it is a nice work from where I work. The cache was right where I thought it was on the first visit to GZ. I have been to GZ in the rain (less muggles) and some days when there were too many muggles to even try. Today with more caching experience than since I last tried, in the beautiful autumn sunshine and accompanied by Monarch butterflies I felt very optimistic. Was a really quick find today so don't know what I was doing all the other visits! Thank you for the cache Smile

17-Apr-19
Second time around ,well prepared after reading entries and a soupladdle I knew where I was heading for. Bingo, did not need the soupladdle just some air grabbing. Great hide, Thanks

15-Apr-19
Gps all over the place no cache to be found. I am not the only one having trouble to get my hands on this one. Got a rough ides where to look next time . Will be back

06-Apr-19
Just checked the cache and it's still there and waiting for finders

30-Mar-19
We are in ChCh to collect some points for the current souvenir hunt: Cache Carnival. The cache coordinates were worked out pretty quickly and then off on a walk to GZ. A few park users around from picnic-ers, dog walkers and a few frisbee-ers aswell. But Thankfully infront of GZ was clear. We went from tree to tree with a few ideas but couldnt find anything Sad in the end Mums bladder won out and we retreated. Thanks anyway.

26-Sep-18
Had solved this multi a number of years ago, but couldn't locate the cache. Finally back again yesterday, and narrowed the search down to a likely area, but without success. Back again today, and spotted the cache within a couple of minutes of being at the final GZ. Thanks for the multi, and the cache.

10-Aug-18
FINALLY! We stopped counting the visits but after the recent check by the owner today we were determined to find it. As usual once you have your hands on the cache you can only ask yourself how you missed it. It was of course quite handy that a tool was found close to GZ - not quite sure whether this was left by the CO or just someone who likes fishing and does not want to carry it around all the time. However, we are not convinced that there are any fish here at all. And we are sure that the city council would not appreciate if you use their facilities for it. Thanks for another bit of history - this might become a LaVista week for us.

21-Jul-18
Just checked the cache. Still there as originally placed.

13-Jul-18
Grabbed the required numbers this morning and then headed out shopping for the day. Once back at the accommodation I then decided on another walk to the final. I searched and searched for ages before realising I had miss calculated by 100 meters (maths not my strong point obviously).... so off I wandered. Arrived at GZ right in the middle of a couple of guys throwing frisbees into some funny metal looking things lol - and almost collected me on the way through. So some real patience was in order. Finally I had some alone time to search. Took me ages - circling various trees but always going back to the same one. And I was right all along... just the right angle and I was in the money.
Cleverly hidden from muggles eyes.
TFTC La Vista - a FP from me.

02-Jun-18
Tftc. Great little multi with a tricky little hide.

26-Apr-18
Got to the area to look at the board got the necessary details sat down and subtract it again go back to the board start again look at the details and citrate do it again come out with something that looks like where I suspect the final to be. Hi ho hi ho off I go following my nose ducks are playing people playing frisbee the day was glorious and the park well used. Got to wear a suspected the final to be. GPS was bouncing but cache Sense took over. Process of elimination and I was in the right place all along. Used a "fishing pole" to detect the change in noise and couldn't get my hand in the suspected area. Heard a change in sound then gently found the prize. Favorite point from me thank you.
Thank you for bringing me to this area La Vista and for placing and maintaining Jellie Dip (Canterbury) geocache from Mr Cuddly Brick
Found on this awesome day the 26 April 2018.

More after work cache finding. Making the most of the fact that I've had to be starting work a little earlier since I can no longer run to work in the mornings & need to be dropped off instead, but daughters daycare still finishes at the same time, so noone even notices that mum & I actually have about half an hour each day to 'detour' on the way home lol!

Lovely to finally tick this one off! I started the multi ages ago, but never got round to finishing the cache, as I was put off by all the DNF logs!!!

But surprisingly, when we made the find, it was super quick & easy! & a lovely day for it too!

TFTC!! Smile

15-Nov-17
A nice little after work adventure with daughter - at least this one was in the right direction when heading home, at least for the most part!! It took a bit to sort so we had no time for any other stops on the way for the day, but a great place to be on a lovely afternoon. TFTC!!!

Oh, wow, if the previous cacher found the cache without having the coords, I take my hat off for you - that's incredible! I had trouble finding the cache even with having calculated the coords (that are quite spot on as well!). At first I dismissed the actual hiding place because I couldn't find anything there and moved on to surrounding places. But when all of them were exhausted, I started reading the logs and had a feeling that I need to check that first place again. I did it, then I did it again, and then - yes - that's the cache!
A dip into the jelly done successfully!

TFTC!

We found it!!!!!!

25-Jun-17
Whoops, I accidentally pushed post and can't seem to edit it.

I'm still unsure how to get the correct coordinates but we were close enough so just started looking around(looking isn't the right word for this one) Don't give up guys, it's there, waiting to be found!!!

10-Jun-17
We returned today with the assistance of Jude_E and quickly felt the cache. A bit more grappling and we had the container in hand, extricated the log and were very pleased to add our pseudonym, a smiley face to replace the previous big blue face. Although we had previously navigated to the right tree, we just hadn't used the necessary senses to put our hand on the container.
Thanks La Vista, this is a beaut.....favourite for us.

22-Mar-17
Had massive problems trying to find this one. Got our coordinates and set off to find but alas we couldn't today.

22-Mar-17
Went again to check the cache after enquiries and DNF's.
Happy to report the cache is still there waiting to be found.

21-Jan-17
Sad face! Dnf

18-Jan-17
My fourth and final visit. Phew. I deserve a jellytip after this one. All I can say is you just need to keep trying. Thanks for the cleverly hidden geocache.
Find out more about New Zealand's next big event [Oamaru Geofest](http://oamarugeofest2017.wixsite.com/geocachingevent)

La Vista Thanks for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. 4488

17-Jan-17
Yes! Yes! Yes! Found at last. Not without a drama which I won't record here other than say I should have looked more carefully when returning it. All good though. Everything as it should be! Thanks La Vista for this great challenge.

16-Jan-17
I looked for another 30 minutes. I was even given inside information as to what to look for. Yet again I came out with dirty finger nails and no smilie. So I rechecked my coordinates when I got home. (My coordinates were correct) I guess I will be back another time on an unknown date in the future.

I purposely came to town for this cache and was gutted it proved elusive to me. Had to give up to pursue a find for the day. Ill be back

31-Jul-16
Stopped in at Jellie Park for a bike ride / walk on our way to drop off TipsyTrout at the airport. I was also keen for an extra couple of sets of eyes to help look for this as I have had two previous dnfs here. It took a concerted effort but we were delighted to find this elusive caache. Worth a favourite point for the lovely park setting as well as the great hide. Tftc!

27-Jul-16
Found GZ as per my coordinates. Likely looking spot but couldn't lay my hands on anything. Some pretty serious pruning has gone on. A few Pokémon hunters about. Will try searching with Arandee later in the week.

27-Jul-16
After some DNF's went round to check cache.
Happy to report it's still all OK, waiting for the finders

23-Jul-16
No luck on this one today.

23-Jun-16
Found it with relatively little difficulty, but no small amount of effort! And, once again, no pen. But have rehidden as per cache page request

12-Mar-16
A searched for an hour. Paffed too. No luck

28-Feb-16
Running out of time on this schedule so had to walk away empty handed...curses! We'll be back but no guarantees to be found on second attempt of course. Look forward to giving it a favourite.

25-Jan-16
Will have to come back and try this one again.

24-Jan-16
Initial calculations were pointing me to an island which did seem appropriate from the name of the cache. Luckily I checked the cache attributes before going for a dip and when I saw stroller accessible I checked my numbers and noticed I had two around the wrong way. But I still couldn't put my hands on the cache unfortunately even at recalculated GZ.

27-Dec-15
Out for a morning walk with M to help ease the pains of Christmas & Boxing day overindulgence, we decided a brisk walk around Jellie Park was the order of the day, of course I took my GPSr & a pen too!
We quickly had the co-ordinates sussed and we were off to GZ. Great cache hide, nice and inventive Smile
Love the look of the frisbee golf course in the park, will have to bring the kids back for a game or two. TFTC!

26-Oct-15
This one we did'nt find today allthough GPS took us to a tree may be it was the wrong tree thanks for bringing us to a lovely park.

04-Oct-15
Finally....2 years after first looking we found this little sneaky hide. Never had any issue with the GZ area, just finding the cache! Third time is a charm. TFTC

20-Aug-15
Pleased to report the cache it still there and waiting to be found.

11-Aug-15
Have spent a lot of time searching for this one without success. It is a while since anybody reported finding it...

01-Aug-15
This is the most searched for cache in our brief experience... Perplexed! Razz

21-Jun-15
I finally found it! SmileSmileSmileSmileSmile I don't know how many times I have been here and fruitlessly searched over the past few years (years!) - too many to count. Quite a bit has changed around the park since my last attempt, or even my last visit to this side of the park for that matter, some serious pruning gone on around GZ, and some strange metal with chain contraptions dotted around the place...? hmm had me puzzled for a bit. Googled it in the couple of times that I had to wait out muggles while searching - disc golf! Very interesting, seems almost as unique as Geocaching Wink. While searching for the cache, I found myself being asked to step aside while a couple of people "played through." The cache was a devious hide, and deceptively hard to spot - stumbled across it more than anything. Not what I was expecting to be honest, then again I have had a long time to imagine what it would look like! Glad to finally knock the bastard off - a favourite point is well deserved. TFTC (2063)

17-Apr-15
Finished work and thought I'd celebrate my birthday by finding a cache that'd stumped me in the past. Had to answer the questions again as I'd misplaced my workings and was soon back at the GZ. A quick nose around and the muggles arrived. A couple on the nearby seats, a family playing Frisbee golf (they warned me to keep to the non-Frisbee side of the tree), then another woman and her kids. By this stage my phone GPS was very confused, swinging between any of 4 or 5 trees.
I had too much invested by now so I decided to TAF (okay so I texted the CO). I was in luck - Lois phoned and it happened that Roger (the hider) was there. I duly got a nudge (& just a nudge) that confirmed my doubts about my first assumption.
By the time we finished the call (during which I stood and LOOKED) the muggles had gone and I had the cache in hand within 45 seconds of hanging up! A neat wee hide that got a chuckle when I realised that there was more than one hint on the cache page. Wink
TFTC (have a favourite point for the laugh) Cool

09-Apr-15
Great fun. We were super excited when we found it.

18-Mar-15
Have had this on the list for a while and finally had the time today. A good hide. Thanks

18-Mar-15
Very pleasing to finally hunt this one down. What a lovely spot. Thanks La Vista- you take us to interesting places.

16-Feb-15
Cheers for the hunt. This gets added to one of my favorites . Thank You

04-Jan-15
Needing to be in Christchurch today, what better way to improve the day but cache. First one of the day (first blood also!)

25-Aug-14
Finally!! Got it Smile
Definitely a favorite, this one. I was in the correct place, but just didn't "hold my mouth the right way" to finally hone in on how to get the cache. Also found amongst many runners and walkers at the end of the day. Gotta have lolled very suspicious amongst the flora!

13-Aug-14
13/08/2014 10:00 am Find #3620 I like your camo and the location of the resolved GZ not to mention the tricky hide. After working on the co-ords I arrived to find a man doing his Tai Chi so I waited and I waited then I went for a walk and I came back and I waited so I went for another walk, found another cache and came back and he was gone so I was in and searching! Got it Smile after trusting my GPSr and thinking where would I put it? This cache should have a long life. Thanks La Vista, I enjoyed this one and I particularly like that you included a check-sum as not enough multis include this simple checker.

06-Aug-14
Well, four trips now, three in the dark. Have spoken to all trees, using various forms of gentle "light persuasion", but they have all kept silent... I'm wondering if the hide is still there? It's now been nearly 6 months since the last check, and no finds since 11 months ago. Feeling decidedly dejected...

06-Aug-14
After recent DNF logs. I went to check on the cache after work. YES it is still there waiting to be found. Smile

01-Aug-14
I will join the illustrious membership of cachers who have not found this GC on the first or second or third try. - However, I was looking all over the site in the dark, by torch light, no doubt looking very suspicious to any passers by, I couldn't see.
I think I might take another go, this time with the yellow orb above the horizon, just for a giggle. Smile

10-Apr-14
A number of branches have been trimmed and a few trees removed. Have yet to find this one so am unable to say if the cache is still there or not.

10-Apr-14
Called in to check on cache. Yes the trees have been trimmed and the Cache is still there!!
