Leaving the Yaddamun Trail, we headed up the hill towards this cache. It's certainly a great view from up here, mainly because the whole area is kept slashed for the power lines. Obviously this little rocky patch is harder to keep down and is now quite overgrown, which makes it a great spot to hide a cache, but a tricky spot to find one. Kolour and I came at it from either end of the copse and arrived at the cache hiding spot at the same time. Thanks Gunnie69 for the cache, and for bringing us up to this great spot!---------------------Today Kolour and I walked a 10km loop in White Rock Conservation Park. We headed out along the Yaddamun Trail then took the connecting track south to White Rock. We then returned along the Main Ridge Track and White Rock Trail. All up it took us 5hrs, with 11 caches collected along the way.

Brissy Cat and I spent this beautiful winters morning walking 10km in a leisurely 5hrs, finding 11 caches. The area around gz is a bit overgrown and there were a few rocks to look under; then both of us coming from different directions, found the right rock and the cache.Logbook signed and replaced as found. All good here. Tftc

Day off from voluntary slavery, noting that it was a beautiful foggy morning I thought why not pick up some caches around my local area since recommencing on my caching journey.Previously enjoying my different times visiting White Rock, I thought why not over the next few days try to smash out this area.. This cache.. well... this was more difficult than it needed to be.. mindful that no-one has visited for sometime therefore grass was very overgrown, hiding any possible path, rocks or steady ground. Searching, being mindful of any possible inhabitants of this area I soon hear a rumbling getting closer and closer.. looking up from a precarious position with a few things left on the path to aid in hands available searching I soon see a slasher driving past, reversing and parking exactly where my belongings where... ooops seems I was spotted or at least my gear was found by a local worker doing his due diligence.. After a quick chat, I went back and found the cache.. making it a lot harder than it needed to be..Cache appears to be in good condition.. Thanks for the cache.

A visit to family not too far away, prompted us to check out this area for a hike. It turned out to be a great decision, as the weather was perfect and the tracks well marked and maintained. It was certainly a popular spot with the carpark nearly full when we arrived but we had the area around GZ to ourselves. All good here. Thanks Gunnie69

Out this morning to capture a few caches with a distinct attribute for a challenge cache located in the north of Brisbane.

Managed to pick up a couple before heading back for refreshments.

I must have had this cluster on my mind for today because I threw my hiking pack into the car before I left home…

It’s been 18 months since I almost killed myself walking around White Rock… today, though much shorter, under 6kms in about 2 hours, the result was almost identical… I had to have a rest when I got back to the car…

Making my way up from Lenny I spent a long time here… a really long time… There’s plenty of head high grass growing around, under and over the many, many, rocks and boulders that cover this area… it was like wading through snow, with trip hazards…

It was a comment in a previous log that had me move a little further up to where there is still some evidence of a burn… into the trees (well sticks really)

When I finally stumbled across the caches hiding spot I may have vocalised my joy…

Tftc…

We had such a lovely walk today in the White Rock Conservation Park.
For us, this was a new area to explore, and we loved the well formed trails, which were mixed and varied. We spent most of the day walking and exploring them and visited many locations along the way.
This one was on our early journey up and we found the hide very quickly. it looks as if there has been fire in the area in the not too distant past, however, after the summer and spring rains, the ground is looking very green again.
Log signed.

Saturday. Out on a jaunt with OBC, Prime plus one. Bit of a burnt out area here which probably helped make for a quick find. Out today with some fantastic fellow cachers. The day heated up but thankfully the paths around here were not too steep at all.

This was the 12th of 18 caches found on this outing.

Thanks ***Gunnie69*** for showing us this place Razz

Spend the morning at White Rock, picking up some caches and enjoying a gentle bushwalk. Felt good to be outdoors, exercising, without the mask. Really enjoyed the company of good friends too. Some of the day's caches were older - including the Q100 at the top of White Rock. Just awesome. Feeling a little sunburned, but that is fairly normal for me. Just on 17,000 steps.

Thanks to EngPhil for advising the issue with the container lid. Only small and given the hiding spot may not have been a problem, but I have replaced the container anyway.

Just shy of 11 years with no maintenance required. Not bad at all, so lets hope this container goes equally as long if not longer.

Go get it... [^]

After spending two more than amazing weeks in NZ, blumen-wiese and I prolonged our holidays for a few days, visiting our very dear friends Mojo1001 in Brisbane. On one of these days, Jo took a day off work and showed us around the White Rock area, where we spent a few hours walking about and finding several caches along the way. This was a quick and easy one.

Thanks for the cache and greetings from Austria!

After finding another cache that had been left alone for some time, we decided to push on for this one. Not really, we just thought we were following the main path but somehow branched off on the more adventurous route.

Only halfway up did I consult the map to know we weren’t in Kansas anymore (i.e. the main track) but this path looked so well formed, probably by people with the same questionable intelligence as us. We continued anyway like we were breathing hard from an orgasm.

When we got close to GZ I knew that I either had to lose 200 pounds or pull some Mr Fantastic stretchy moves to find the cache. I opted for my inner-superhero dance repertoire and when I saw Mrs Woodyrothwell searching a mile away I told her she should get over here. She kindly reminded me that she knew what the hint was going to be without seeing the cache page and did her own thing.

My Marvel (trademark pending) manoeuvres got me in the right spot and I found my first cache of the day. My son was only metres behind hoping to claim the find as his own, but he needs to suck it up because he didn’t inherit his powers of idiocy from me, or did he? tftc

Despite being a keen bushwalker, I have never ventured to this piece of bush until today. I was looking for a solid walk to get 15+ km into the legs, clear my head in the process and grab a few caches.

It was a bit of a miserable sloppy slog up the hill, enough to get the heart started. The cache was quickly found in the thick undergrowth as per the hint. The constant sizzle and crackle from the powerlines in the rain was a little disturbing. All in good order here.

Many thanks, Gunnie69

After working 50 hours in 4 days, Dr Hunting Rabbit needed a relaxing day out. We had wanted to hike to the White Rock Earthcache on Sunday avo, but today was just as good as any. Dr Hunting Rabbit remembers clearly the bushfires of 2012 as he drove past via the highway the day after and saw the black charred forest. Today, it was nice to see the black remnants on the trees, but the undergrowth was green and luscious. It's nice to see how well and fast the bush can bounce back. As we walked up the Yaddamun track we noticed the cache was only 80m uphill to the right, but didn't want to head straight up the hill through the thick bush so decided to leave it. After reaching the crossroads we took the trail under the power lines and straight up the bloody big hill. Most days this sort of hill would be OK, but the hot sun took it out of us. When we reached the top we noticed on the GPSr that we weren't on the right track, and having not seen another track branch off we were puzzled where we went wrong. However, we notice this cache was 50m away. As we were so close and the track from here was flat we decided to make the find. Dr Hunting Rabbit went bush as the others waited. A nice easy quick find. Nice to have another smiley today. Whilst the treck up the hill sure took us down a notch and made us struggle a little, the views from the top were spectacular!!! After the find, we backtracked down the hill, noticed a trail at the bottom and followed it. TFTC Gunnie69.

What a fabulous way to start the new year. Out on a much needed post-Christmas hike with Dr_pepi & mctwin2. We've previously been out to White Rock for a few other caches, but decided to start on the Yaddaman trail today. Probably appropriate that (Mr) mctwin2 was the one to spot this first! TFTC.

01-Jan-16
Out for a New Year's Day hike to stretch the legs with trin_007 and mctwin2. We'd been to White Rock some time ago (I would say over a year ago - maybe closer to 18 months) - this was not long after we joined up and we were still basic members. So we didn't see all the premium hides out here. Time to go and clear some more off the map.

I think we may have taken the long way to this cache… we left the main trail at the break where the power lines are, as per the suggestion in the description. However, we soon questioned whether we were heading the right way (in the end, yep, we probably were), and decided to change tack. Made our way over to another trail which showed up on Trin's phone but not mine, and made our way up the hill, which eventually brought us directly to GZ. mctwin2 spotted this one, and had the reach to lean in and get it. All in good condition.

Lovely views here, despite being so close to civilization. We talked about White Rock a fair bit at tonights Kenmore catch up, which makes me want to come back again and find the rest we missed out on today, as well as the more difficult ones some day... Dropped some SWAG here, the cache was looking a little sparse.

Out for the day searching for caches to finish of the Geocaching Road Trip for 2015 and hoping to complete another challenge as well. Here is one of those caches I needed for the challenge and after taking a wrong turn or two I eventually found my way to GZ. Didn't take long to locate this one. Mrs E down from Toowoomba with my usual non-geocaching caching partner...she loves coming but has no desire to sign up and log her finds??!! We found ourselves here because I needed three caches to complete a challenge...wandered up the track and came within 100m of the cache only to be met with an uncomfortable task ahead of us. Checked satellite view of the area and discovered an easier approach so backtracked. Nice hide...challenge complete! Left Kwazii Kitten TB. Thanks Gunnie69.

When we arrived at GZ it took much more time than we thought it would to find this cache. It turned out we were looking on the wrong side of the clump of bushland. Good work us!

When we finally figured out we needed to head around the other side the cache appeared almost instantly.

Dawesy321 mentioned on leaving GZ that this was his ideal cache - a cache that has basically no chance of being accidentally discovered by a passing muggle. An interesting thought...

This was the 3rd cache for Genyo and I today. We wandered towards GZ and there was plenty of geotrail to lead us in the correct direction. The GPS was playing up quite a bit so we had to rely on ourselves to find the cache but before long we had the cache in hand. TFTC!

This was my first major target today as we are deep in J-U-N-E. The most direct route off the track was pretty clear and by just going up and up and up, soon there were some pretty awesome views to be had. The cache is nicely hidden in the undergrowth and although I was on high snake alert, none appeared. All in good nick here so TFTC and thanks for the U, Gunnie69!

Long hike to get to this one, it was getting dark fast we went up the wrong trail for awhile which didn't help. Brought our little one in his stroller big mistake the bull dust is unforgiving and there's big a hill with heaps of rocks near the end. We eventually got there just as it got dark found it easily enough then tracked back through the dark we watch lots of horror movies so my partner was worried a creature or some phsyco might get us. When we go to get the other caches no stroller and more daylight.

A "u" for the February challenge! I arrived late in the day and made a dash up the hill. The new wattle tree growth is very thick here and so it took me a while to realise how far in I would need to go. I had a closer look at the rock path on the way back to the car. It would be so much fun riding down the rocks. I would be sure to fall off but would love to watch someone more experienced making the ride. Thanks Gunnie69.

I was on a Sunday morning walk through the White Rock reserve to look for all the caches I'd not picked up already. 'U Da Man!' was second on my list but the first real find for the day because when I got to cache #1 I saw I'd already signed up... gotta love the geocaching app.

A quick walk up the trail, a little chasing my magic arrow, a little schlepping through some new growth and I spotted the hide!

Thanks for the cache Gunnie.

Time for a bike ride around White Rock Conservation Park Big Grin I have often wanted to get out here and take the tour of this area, and Brother Colin was keen to return to find the 7 new caches, so we hatched a plan for a ride-and-hike, in an attempt to get all 20 caches done in one day. 8 hours later, mission accomplished [^]

More riding brought us to this one, and a quick find thanks to the clue. Nice play on the cache title Wink TFTC, Gunnie69.

Gaz'n'Kab had organised a trip out to White Rock to grab this cache, so I cancelled all my plans with my couch and decided to head down for the day as well. I was picked up by Fangsoki and Sweet_bee, within an hour we had the Captain and were heading towards Gaz'n'Kab and Whint.

We were heading back to the car and Captain Terror, Fangsoki, Sweet_bee and I had lost the group in front and decided we were going to grab a couple extra caches on the way. We were all chatting as we got close to this cache and after a bit of up it was time to let the Captain loose on another cache. He sniffed it out without too much trouble. We signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for the cache Gunnie
