I picked a beautiful day to find this one, it was nice and warm in the sun and the sky was blue with a few clouds: all of this added to the beautiful view that awaited me from GZ I approached the bottom of the hill from the west, and I didnt actually realise that there were stairs leading up the hill until Id stepped up into the knee-high grass and walked the whole way over to them. When I reached them I was greeted with a forest wall of bamboo, which I hadnt expected to be growing here.I quickly made my way up the stairs, back into thigh-high grass and hooked my way around to GZ. As expected, with such long grass comes hundreds of grass seeds wedged in my shoes, but if course thats better than an encounter with any danger noodles in the area Thanks for the cache!
Spidey senses were on point with this one, and had the CIH in the first place I checked.TFTC!
#2887 It’s been quite some time since I’ve found a cache in this series. And for this one I was the first finder this year. All in good condition. Thanks Sol de lune.
Came the difficult way up the hill but after circling we found the cache. TFTC
Signed dsd or Darksidedan or AB or Adventure Boys to save space in the logbook thanks for the cache and the adventure.
Out today to get catch some caches on our 2nd day in Canberra with RoddyC and Team Benders.

Out today visiting a few caches. I soon had my hand on the cache. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. Thanks Sol de lune. All good with this cache.
TFTC Great day for caching today, thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache.
First geocache in months (because magpies) found it quickly very happy thanks <3
After a bit of a break, we decided to grab a couple more suburbs in the Canberra Mapping Challenge, to progress our slow but unstoppable quest to one day actually get this challenge. Today we headed south, down to Gilmore and Chisholm, for a bit of urban walking, hill climbing, and some looking at views.
This was cache number two, after the southern schoolhouse, and whilst it was completely different, it sure didn't disappoint with the views - who would have thought this place would be tucked away - a local secret I guess.
Thanks for the cache Sol de lune , and the views.

These are proper views from up here!!!! Good view of the rain over home way, and bit of blue sky down here. Perfect!! TFTC!
Awesome views from up here, glad I decided to detour on my walk to the shop to find this one
Cool we have been climbing this for awhile and thought to have a look to for it. Had no pen to log but still here
After tracking was jumping from 1 meter to 4 meters at the same spot - we finally found it.
Found with the scouts after a Anzac ceremony, wet log book but picture sent to CO
Thankyou!
Thankyou!

A quick walk to get the heart pumping and a quick find. Wouldn't be dead for quids. Tftc
Found with no problems after a quick walk up from the staircase.
Beautiful views today!

I treked a convoluted way to get up here. Great views! Now I need to work out how to get down. Tftc.
Quick walk up the hill with bushwalkinggirl to find this one. The views over Namadgi are pretty spectacular & gets a fave from me. TFTC!
Ah, it's good to be back in Canberra and out and about this evening to continue my quest to complete the Canberra Mapping Challenge. First cache tonight was this one in Chisholm (actually my first target was over in Gilmore but that was thwarted by muggles feeding their horse). I parked near the old Tuggeranong School House and walked up the hill. Yet again, I'm surprised to find such a nice little hill nestled within suburbia. Naturally I had to climb up to the top and wow, what a great view! After indulging the senses, I walked on down to gz. My GPS seemed to be out, so I had to use my geocaching nous. I saw a likely hide and was rewarded (no hint required this time). Just watch out for the blackberry thorns nearby. TFTC
A nice spot up here on the hill. Not much grass on top due to the fire, but all OK at GZ.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Magic views with autumn trees amongst the greenery. Thank goodness this cache just escaped the fire on Simpson's hill. This view is to hard to walk away from.

Found with Kittykatch and Smittengranny our helping Kath find the last of her suburbs. Great view. TFTC
Found with Joolay to Smittengranny. Only a few more suburbs to qualify for the Canberra Mapping Challenge. All in good condition. TFTC
On an afternoon caching trip with Joolay and Kittykatch. Fantastic views. Easy find with cache in good condition. Thanks for placing this cache for us to enjoy Sol de Lune. TN LTb SL
We came across your cache, Sol de lune, on our Canberra holiday.
Nice quick find today. Its a tad chilly but the sun is warm and the view is wonderful.

Sorry for the generic log. I decided that after getting about a third of the '*-It-Up' series 'here and there' I would knuckle down and pick them all up today. So I park at the tennis club next to Chisholm High and set off. It was a long walk in a counter clockwise direction, my phone says it was 12000 steps.
2 DNF's overall, one the cache is definitely missing the other I am not so sure on. This cache was find number 19
Oh... it was a bit of walk up to this hill, much more than I had anticipated as I grew up in Gilmore and went to Chisholm High... clearly hill climbing is not something I did in my teenage years.
But WHAT A VIEW!!!! amazing

The Thursday bike ride from Tuggeranong finished at Chisholm this morning so I took the opportunity to seek out some geocaches at the eastern end of Tuggeranong. The tally was three out of four, Michelangelo It Up getting the better of me! This cache was a straightforward find, being more or less on the coordinates. I chained my bike to a light pole and headed up the hill, eyes alert to the risk of snakes in the long grass. Thank you Sol de lune for installing and maintaining this cache.
Found with The Matetrix. A quick find by torchlight. Brrrrr, still cold outside. TNLNSL TFTC
A nice area, good access but the old knees started to complain on the way down! TFTC
An easy to access cache with parking at the base of the steps and following a track along to the cache. Great views all around and a really windy day noticed best from the top! Thanks for the cache Sol de lune!
The end of a lovely afternoon clearing up some caches not too far from home. Just as I arrived at the base of the hill I got a phone call and managed to have the conversation while finding and logging the cache. I don't remember much about the cache, except that it was easy to find! TFTC
3rd park and find in the rain today with bektacular and gimmedaball. Found the path that took us to the cache which saved us getting too wet. Nice views up there! Tftc
Found with jim1213 and gimmedaball. Got wet as it was raining but we braved it.
Was in the area for work and on such a lovely afternoon I couldn't resist this cache. Great views and a quick walk up a small hill to a nice little hide. Tftc!!!
F(H)ound It! No.1363 - @2:39:00 PM
A nice little hill climb. There are funny little hills popped up all over these southern suburbs, and the ranges are so close you can feel their breath on your neck. This is the first sunny day after quite a bit of rain so there is lots of long lime green grass and when I stuck my hand in there I regretted not bringing a glove with me. Still - all good - no reptiles in residence. Thanks for the cache, Sol de lune

I did not know there was a hill here ! Found a dog at the GZ or the dog found me, he was very friendly and followed me all the way back to the car. He really wanted to get in and come home, but no I got three cats. TFTC.
Found it after taking the hound for a walk up the hill. What a wonderful view.
Forgot pen in my rush to get out of the house.

Left a Bart Simpson traceable.

I headed out to grab a cache before heading in to Civic for my evening commitments. I timed this well as the rain had eased right up when i was going for the cache, but started again after I left. A quick climb of the hill and the hiding location was easily spotted, then it was back down the hill and into the car to drive in to Civic.

Great view from up here thankyou for bringing us up here and thankyou for the cache the ewoks
11:50am 13/3 - initially thought this wouldn't be too hard, we think terrain should be 3 at least (at least with two tadpoles in tow).
We took the steps as far as they could take us then made our own way to GZ. Going down it was clear we could have continued to take the right hand path further, even though it looked like it went back down the hill). It would have been a more straight forward ascent from that path.
Great hide, not as obvious as others of this type. Thanks for another suburb Sol de Lune.

After tonight's street orienteering, I took the opportunity to grab a few caches in suburbs I haven't yet cached in for the Canberra Mapping Challenge. A quick find here. A perfect place to visit just on sunset. TFTC.

Unfortunately we couldn't drive the car up to this cache! However we did drive up the rather steep street to get to it, so we didn't have to walk all the way to the top of this hill.
We could feel our calf muscles straining as we went up the steps, wow this is steep! Took a right turn at the top of the steps to go down a dirt path. All is looking well!
Eventually got within 20m before leaving the path and scrambling up some rocks. I found the cache tucked away neatly for us to find Thanks for another one Sol de lune!

Yesterday was the first day in nearly 2 months since I found a cache. Out again today to satisfy my caching needs. A quick and easy find. Thanks SDL
Meanwhile in lower Chisholm... (pretty sure no one will get that joke). Going to try to keep up an average of at least 7 caches per week this year so popped out for a quick find after dinner. Was only wearing thongs which prob weren't the best for this cache as it was a little off the beaten track. Great views up here, there are so many of little places like this down south with great views. Thanks for the cache Sol de lune.
Found on an overcast day. I took a drive down to the south side for two multis and this cache. It was a surprisingly smooth ride. If only traffic was always that good.
Anyway, I took an unwise approach to GZ that had me walking through lots of tall dry grass. Fortunately no snakes around, or I scared them off. I paused at the summit of the hill and had a good look around. Very nice views in all directions. Then I walked through more long grass and found the cache in the first place I looked.
XNSL.

Found the cache, now to find some lunch. Thanks, Sol de lune (four the cache, not lunch!)
Little challenging to find by torchlight, approached from the track and went home up hill via track. Grass is shoulder high in spots! Bit wary of Joe Blakes... Great view as always. TNLN Thanks.
I checked the weather before leaving work and I was pleased that the rain had cleared up-so that made grabbing the nightly daily a lot more pleasant!
Parked the car and then it was on with the torch and off up the stairs! Only a short wander up the hill to GZ to make the nice, easy find. Great view of the lights at night!
Thanks for another in the series, Sol!

I also enjoyed a walk across the top of the hill past the schools' Anzac area to the old Tuggeranong Schoolhouse built in 1880. The grounds were filled with colourful parrots.

Another suburb with some history and a cache to highlight its name.
We found this after spending time today at Tidbinbilla. This one was found on our drive home. We are gradually making our way through the series.
Thanks SDL for the history lesson, and the effort you have put into sharing this with us.
