Found this cache when looking for another one so I have removed it to avoid confusion.

Due to the changes being made to the area it is time to archive this cache and leave this spot available for others.

Picking up some of the local caches brought us to this multi. Looked pretty straight forward but turned into a bit of serious guesstimating as there are dramatic developments occurring due to the new foot bridge over the waterway. Blue bollards, chains & jetty's have been removed which makes correctly solving the East co-ordinates trickier. As with NZTravellers we got the correct south co-ords then checked out google maps and were able to narrow down the search location for the final. Once at GZ we used a photo taken by another cacher to narrow this down further and the hide was quickly located.

We enjoyed the walk, views and checking out the new construction. CO will need to revisit this cache upon bridge completion and recalibrate the waypoint calculations. Thanks for an enjoyable multi / puzzle. Smile

New bridge being constructed over the waterway has removed some of the items required for solving the east co-ordinates. Will need recalibrating once construction is complete.

Enjoyed the view on the beach while I had my lunch then headed out to find the cache.

Awesome beach.

After getting up early today we decided to do some caching in the north shore while waiting for Miss NZT to finish her morning tuition class, after picking her up and grabbing our second much needed coffee we headed to this lovely park and marina to complete this multi.

We had a few difficulties with counting bollards and chains, there was some works going on and we suspect maybe some of the bollards have been removed for access? However we got the South co-ordinates to work nicely but the East co-ords didn't quite work for us. Checked the satellite map and took an educated guess as to the likely location of the final - and hey presto! we got it!! TFTMC!

As I was in the area this cache was perfect for a wee stroll around the park. Once all the addition was complete the cache was soon found. TFTC!

A fabulous day for a spot of caching with my sister (garball) and father (merlot47) in the area I grew up in, quite a few muggles with dogs about so a little bizarre with the 3 of us walking and counting quite a long stretch of the marina. Needed to double check our counting of jettys by going on over to the other side, a few calculation issues but logic told us what the final numbers were and managed to have parked in the perfect spot for this find, have loved reuniting with Milford and spending time with family, thanks for the counting task and bringing us back here rosmar.

Long weekend so of course no issue with spending one caching! Went with my sister and dad (Casaba3 and Merlot47 respectively) do revisit the area we grew up in. A few changes! Spent a lot of time around here back then so a lot of reminiscing today. Found everything we needed and with the triple counting were sure we'd counted right but the numbers didn't add up so made an intelligent guess as to the final co-ords and found the hiding spot fairly easily. Had a chat with a boat owner after replacing which made no sense at all - he was on his own agenda with his speech - not answering our casual question to seem interested at all. Found a couple of other caches while doing the counting. Thanks rosmar - still not sure where we went wrong but enjoyed the time spent!

Headed out with Alpenmilch80 and slieschke to be the first in the world to earn all the August souvenirs this year. Mission accomplished. This was the fifth of the 6 caches we needed to find. Nice multi! TFTC!!! Big Grin

This was a long time coming. I did the initial yardwork with mike-miss for this during the pre-mega fish and chip event last year but didn't get round to completing it (I recall new cache notifications were coming out).

With the final coordinates all worked out I returned this morning with alpenmilch80 and funkymunkyzone to make the find for the August festivities. A bit of an involved one and a delayed final find, but I got there in the end.

Thanks!

Another Souvenir revealed or not as groundspeak must have had a bug in its program. Anyhow congrats to slieschke & FMZ to FTF all seven Souvenirs of August in the first 30min of August. TFTC

This multi took us a little while to work out, had to some double-checking on some of our numbers.
Got the right result after a bit of work. Big Grin

This was a nice spot for the final of this multi. I was so focused on the task at hand that I failed to notice the muggle behind me. Thankfully the CO was shielding my activities but the guy did have his back to us so I'm pretty sure he was none the wiser, especially when I performed a usual "throw the muggle off the scent" action. This was well hidden. The resident spider seems to create webs fast as I noticed it had been signed very recently but that web looked like it had been there weeks. TFTC.

*Found with PrincessDiala whilst trekking about New Zealand on the way to NZ Mega*

along with nufrat at the fish and chip event, we went off and collected all the information and thought that we had done something wrong.

nufrat pointed out the owners, and we had a quick check to make sure everything was ok before heading off to collect the final hide!!

My first day caching in Auckland prior to attending the Mega event event on the week-end. After a slow start to the morning I decided to cache down along the beachs. I was heading south from Browns Bay and stopping for caches along the way.

I wandered around the park collecting the answers for the multi but wasn't sure where Ingi road was. It didn't matter as a bit of trial and error narrowed the final location down to a couple of spots. At GZ there was a muggle nearby with a tin of paint but while he had his backed turned I retireved the cache from its hidey-hole.

Beautiful spot.

Thought I'd miscounted for DEF but then realized I'd just missed one item off in my addition, so all good. Went back and forth a bit before getting to GZ as had baby buggy in tow, but nice easy find once we got there. Took TB. TFTC!

On the fourth day of caching....what another stunning day when rain was forecast. After lunch on the seafront we strolled about getting the required numbers. Doing the jetty's last, we realised we had a number wrong somewhere so went back across the marina to count bollards and chains again. Still one off, we looked at our numbers and worked out where the cache probably was and luckily it was there. TB drop off, tftc

Back in Milford again today with the Future Finder. A quick circuit of the park and we were all set with ABC. However, after counting bollards and calculating the number of chains I grew disinterested in counting anything else so just gussed/estimated the remaining counts. This was close enough to actual GZ that we were able to locate the cache in the first spot we checked. Rehid with a touch of natural camo as it was a little exposed. Cheers for the hide and the lovely walk!

26-Jan-13
ABC was no trouble except for muggles DEF was a bit off so did a bit of guess work and got it right first time.

We walked around in the hot sun .. and surprised ourselves but getting the right numbers and having that cache in hand before you can say' Super Shipping Multi' t4tc

After a great new year party Arne and me continued to clean up his homezone. The head was getting better soon with the fresh air and the sunshine. Great first day of the new year! We counted a lot but the checksums were very helpful. We aligned the calculated east coordinate a bit and then had spot on coordinates. Thanks for the fun and the challenge!

Happy caching 2013!

The checksums were very useful for this one. Milford is a great place to come on a sunny Sunday afternoon, Master FriwiNZ enjoyed the playground and an ice cream while gathering all the clues. TFTC Smile

My first Multi-cache in New Zealand. Went around the marina, added up all the numbers, got the correct co-ords, and quickly found the cache. TFTC

24-Aug-12
Wow! This took some working out, especially when the second co-ordinates checksum would not add up correctly. I don't know where I went wrong, cause I did it twice and still it wouldn't work out. So I went with what I had, and i'll be darned if I didn't find it, all tucked away and in good condition too. Gets a favourite tick from me.

Woohoo!!. First ever puzzle cache and so close to home Smile TFTC, took two attempts and some paper to write down all the answers, a good Sunday mornings work

Cache all good, watch for twigs in your face at GZ

Finally nabbed this cache. Made an attempt last year for this cache, never sure the maths was right. Had a search at a potential GZ but tunred up nil. Rosmar kindly checked to see if the cache was still there as it hadnt been found in a while. Back today same area, almost same result until, sigh, there it was. TFT great multi and location. It is a really nice area, one now that I have been to twice.

23-Aug-11
Checked on this cache container and it is still where it should be.

Not really wanting to do many multi's today as we were on a number run, we decided to give this one a crack, firstly because it was in a nice spot and didn't seem overly difficult and secondly as it was a Rosmar cache and since they can't find their own caches it would be a number they wouldn't be able to claw back...

Nice spot and good final hide.

It took a bit of time to finish but as this is our local park we thought it really MUST be done. Well constructed and a lot of fun, thanks.

07-Nov-10
Took us more than an hour but was a pleasant stroll in delightful surrounds and we ended closer to the car than we'd begun as we walked to the start along the beach. The first bollard has become victim to subsidence and is hanging off the seawall. It was easy for us to count it but it will be more likely removed than reinstated. We also had 2 other possible problems so were very thankful for the checksums. Thanks for the well thought out tour and pleasnt final. PINO TFTC

A very enjoyable multi and a worthy successor of the original cache here.
We wandered around collecting all the info and were delighted when the check sums were correct first time - probably a first for us!
Grabbed the final with no problem either!
Thanks for the cache

3.00pm. Most enjoyable - the type of suburban caching we enjoy. We had set the earlier Milford Marina multi cache and archived it once the visits fell off so another cacher could use the area. That has been shown to have been a good decision as this one is well done and takes you on a merry tour around the marina estuary. We took it slowly and carefully as it would not have been good form to fail on our home ground so to speak. Got the right numbers the first time per the checksum and then off to the final only just dodging the next rain shower. Many thanks for maintaining the standard rosmar.
No trackables were in the cache.
Added a fridge magnet

Doesn't seem that long ago that we did the previous version. Added everything up and got one lot of answers right but had to reinspect some of the features before we found we were 1 digit wrong and that made all the difference. Lovely day today to be walking around the area. TFTC

07-Apr-10
Didn't manage to find the last cache here so was glad to eventually get the numbers to add up right today. It took 3 goes at the bollards before Stepson & I both came up with the same number, and 2 times with the jetties. Completely missed the volleyball courts on our first 2 times past them. 6th & last cache for the afternoon - had hoped to do 'Close to home' as weel, but with all the walking back and forth, we have run out of time. TNLNSL TFTC and chance to show Stepson where his Uncle had got married last October.

I remember the previous Milford Marina cache. All my maths added up to the correct answers and soon had the cache in hand.

No TB in the cache.

Cheers for the cache.

Had Brooke (my 4 year old) with me for the day and we decided to knock off some caches on the shore. Gathered the required info and Brooke played at the park. Quick find at GZ. TFTC

It was a nice afternoon walk around an area that I didnt know existed. The cache was found easily despite my mathematical ability and poor observation skills. The check sums made sure that I wasnt still there at dark rechecking everything . Thanks.

Another enjoyable visit to this park quickly found all the infornation and off for the cache. Much better hiding spot than the last one. Noted one of the bollards has come out of the ground, hope they fix it soon or there could be some confused cachers about.

Out with Stu4 following cache publications tonight. Easy multi once we gained familiarity with the area. The cache was exactly where it was supposed to be but we were a little puzzled for a while as the checksum of the longitude appeared out. By our reckoning it should be 25 - maybe we did something wrong?....Very happy to be joint FTF Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin......TFTC

With 2 FTFs under our belts this night, we set off from one marina (at Beachlands) and headed for another (at Milford). No found logs had been posted when we set out on our detour home, and we (wrongly) assumed no one else would be out caching at this time of the night (er, morning).
Had a brisk stroll along the marina counting bollards and reading plaques by torchlight, and had completed the circuit when a car pulled up and shone hi-beam headlights at us across the park. We continued walking, and it drove off. We continued to examine certain items for plaques as we went, and a short time later the car returned, and this time we realised it was a policecar! It pulled up alongside, and not surprisingly the young cop wanted to know what we were up to. We sheepishly admitted we were on a bit of a treasure hunt (it's 2am, remember!). He asked if we lived nearby, and we had to admit we did not, but quickly told him that friends of ours did. That seemed to satisfy him, and he said he just wanted to be sure we were safe!
By this time we had all the required info, so did the calculations and soon had the final co-ords. We located the cache after a short search (no, it isn't in the same place as before, but we noticed the old cache is still there!). Got quite a surprise to see that 10centcoin and stu4 had been there already. Congrats guys!
We enjoyed this revisit to thte Milford Marina (will have to do it in the daytime some day!), and our late-night adventure. Thanks for the fun Rosmar.

NB: No checksum issues for us.
