It was a spur of the moment decision to see if there were any caches nearby when I stopped for a break from driving. This one was perfect as it required just the amount of walking distance I was seeking. I had the place to myself and I soon found the nicely hidden container.
Have been up a few times as a spectator when mrcleverclogs races, not sure whether I would be brave enough to tackle that ramp. Great facility.
I competed in my first out of Auckland event at this track, awesome track. Hopefully will be back in a few weeks competing again.
First time Geocaching with my 4 year old son. He loved it when we found it. Such good camo
As people have observed, very nice camo. And yes, the lid is difficult to snap back on securely, but I did it.
Got it at last, after wondering what the camo was. Easy find in the end - great hide! Have an FP and TFTC
Loved the camo! Very cool.
Stinking hot here today, so I had to quicken the process and go straight for the hint.

New cache placed, description and hint updated.Old cache probably gone due to clean up of Ivy at GZ.
Don't know if this is still here as ivy has been attacked and not much there now
After doing the New Roundabout cache, his_old_lady talked me into walking over here also. I’m glad we did because it’s an excellent hide, blends in extremely well. Thanks, it’s worth a favorite.
Came down here to look for this cache, and there was a bit of action at the track. Not kids, big and small flying around a track at top speed but a few folks moving a lot more slowly than that, as it looked like they were having a working bee to grade the tracks and make sure everything was tickety-boo. Regardless, noone was paying attention to us and it was easy to walk over and make the find. I can imagine there are times when this is tricky but the middle of a hot dry summer is not it. All good here, nice work on the camo, good to see such effort on a cache here. Thanks for the cache.
I hiked over from the dog park to get this one. There was a car by the facilities, but other than that I had the whole place to myself. While checking out one place, I spotted another and found the cache there. Nice camo. TFTC.
First cache towards the second Geo Caching junkie souvenir and great to get a decent size cache among all the local micros.
No sign left on the post but the cache was an easy find using the GPS and hint. A clever camo that shows some thought. TFTC

This cache was very well hidden and cammoed considering I had no luck last time I tried here.
This place always brings back memories for me. My best friend when I was in highschool back in 2010 died when he came off his BMX bike here. He broke his neck and life support was switched off about a week later.

TFTC very cleverly camo'ed! Was harder finding the entrance to the BMX than finding the cache. The hint was spot on and helped miles!
Wanted to exchange SWAG but couldn't get the ball out . Lovely area too

Was walking round the Basin this morning collecting a few caches and this was next. Awesome camo but still a quick find. TFTC
Out for a run today and I decided to collect a few finds along the way in celebration of Blue Switch Day. My phone got me to the vicinity and despite the missing sign I found the nicely camouflaged container. Fortunately the rain didn't come and I could continue my run. Cheers for the hide!
I am up in Whangarei/Onerahi for Easter weekend visiting the parents and of course, I am going to collect some caches whilst in the area. After a bit of caching in Onerahi this morning and a trip down to Ruakaka for the Marsden City series, I'm back in Whangarei for a couple more hours of caching before heading back to Onerahi.
I had searched for this one on my last trip to Whangarei and I'm not sure how I missed it last time as it was an easy find although with the camo I didn't see it until I had my hand on it. TFTC

A quick and easy find. Outer container was a bit wet inside but inside one is fine. A nice camo. TFTC.
After trying to get the dog park cache but due to being under construction we weren’t able to we shot across the road to look for this one. We managed to scrounge around for a second and man my three year old was excited. The cache was very cleverly done with great camo. Nice one CO.
Here for North Island Titles over Labour weekend, quick find before day two. Tftc
Out to look for a handy one to keep the 2017 streak going, before the rain set in. Hint item is no longer in place, but it didn't take long to locate the beautifully camo'd cache. Unfortunately, the log inside was totally sodden, so was unable to sign it. Took a photo instead, which I can email CO if required.

the sign has long gone...but its easy to find but the log paper was way to wet to write on:-( but we were here and we have alligatorsnz to witness:)
moving along with an afternoon on a drizzly day, the clue was a little out of date as the clue item has shed the most noticable part of itself... but we still found it - but sorry the log was just to wet to do any thing but carve with the pen;-(
logs is totalled...wet... i have found recently that rolling a log in to a small pill container and putting in the container seems to keep it dry.. the smaller the air space in the container the better;-)
Awesome camo! On our biked today instead of climbing mountains. I remember thus as Pooy Island back in the day. Thanks for bringing us here Butters*
As if a 10k hike up to Eagle Rock this morning wasn't enough we're now on a biking mission in and around Whangarei! 11th find on the bikes, 14th of the day. Cool camo, log very wet.

Today we left Mangawhai heading towards Whangarei.
After checking into our accommodation, lunch & a rest we decided to find some caches closer to the city area.
Great work of the cammo on this container.
Thanks for placing this cache the observer*
Nice one! another good find on an infrequent, but very enjoyable trip this far north.

This one has been on our to do list for a while now, so it was good to knock it off. Nice easy find. Not too many muggles around despite being Easter. TFTC.
I'm back up in my home town of Whangarei for the holiday period and today joined up with fellow Auckland cacher yorkshirekiwi83 and local caching friends tikitour for a hot summers day of caching around the city. The logs were either signed with our caching names or some combination of the letters T,V & Y for our caching names - depending on who had previously found the caches. Drove right up to GZ for a nice quick park and grab here. TFTC!

Decided to finish the year and see in the new year in Whangarei, Vistra and tikitour decided to join me and we spent the time grabbing caches around the region, in some cases it was just one that needed to sign in others it was all three of us, signed as TYV (or combination of those letters) or VY when it was more than 1 of us.
Nicely camoed, TFTC

It's school holidays so I'm enjoying the opportunity to get lots of caching days in. This trip was supposed to be to collect the 3 or 4 caches I needed for challenges and visit parks with the kids. Well the weather wasn't good for parks but it was good for geocaching - little short intermittent showers. Yippee for me! I wanted this cache for one of Tufty's challenges: GC2RH6C. A neat camouflaged cache which was very cleverly done, thanks
This was a great cache to find, could have been a nightmare considering the foliage but a nice sensible placement by the CO meant that the cache could be found without too much damage and the camo blended in nicely. Thanks
Very well camoed but easy find. Picked up a TB so will help it on its way. Being a sheep on its way to OZ I might just be able to get it to travel with sheepdog JACK. Whatcha reckon BUTTERS? TFTC
What a cool cache! The post no longer has a sign on it. Left a Travel Bug. Thanks!
I needed a cache to keep the current streak going and with all the heavy rain I thought that it was the perfect time to get this cache without a lot of muggles on bikes about. My prediction was correct, well mostly correct. Cache was quickly found but I decided to move with it as there were muggle vehicles in the car park. Glad I did otherwise I would have been standing in pouring rain at GZ with them driving slowly past. Log book quickly signed. Grabbed the two TBs and returned the cache. TFT(well camo'd but quick find)C.
#267. Needed a place to drop off 2x trackables before I left Whangarei and this was the only one I could actually find that was big enough. Very nice hide. TFTC
