Cache has succumbed to flooding. No response to an NM. CO inactive for around 3 years.
Couldn't find anything.
I didn't look at the latest log entry - seems the cache has gone in the floods.

This area was flooded in November and a number of caches seem to have been lost. I could find no sign of the hint objects here this morning so this may have succumbed as well. Could the CO check this please?
Morning caching in this area before lunch time event in Wellington. Thanks for the cache.
On our way home after tattoo, great couple of days, stopped for a coffee and bike ride along river so this is a bonus. TFTC
Out for a Boxing Day bike ride along with many muggles and their dogs. I guess dogs COULD be considered 'muggles' in their own right, but I won't labour the point.
The cache site was overgrown with long grass etc but I persevered and uncovered the spot. The cache was further in than desirable so left it as per the hint.
TFTC! TNLNSL. (for some reason my log entry appeared as 25 December so have changed it to 26th on my PC)
Had you noticed the spelling mistake in the cache name by the way? "Whakatiki River"

#1401. Wandered along and photographed the river nearby. Looks like the place where they filmed the LOTR river scene referred to in nearby Anduin cache. Headed over to the trees and searched around a bit for the cache. Found after a few minutes looking as long grass made it harder to spot. But once seen I knew I was in the right spot. Log was nice and dry. Signed and returned as found. I guess others have pointed it out but the cache title doesn't do justice to the Maori language. The river name should be Whakatikei. It is acceptable to edit the name of a cache after its submitted. Cheers GSEL
Couldn't find it all ? There was an area with heaps of rocks where it kept directing me to but couldn't find anything..
I had great geocaching plans for today but they were scuppered by my muggle companions, who felt the 13km walk from Birchville to Stokes Valley along the river would be quite enough fun for one day, thank you very much. But I was determined to log at least one find - on the sly, if I had to. Fortunately, the place we chose to picnic at had a cache just a short distance away. So while they were refuelling, I sneaked off and fossicked around. I couldn't find anything, so I gave up, joined the others, had a quick lunch, then, feeling refreshed, went back to GZ - and found the container straight away!! I can only surmise hunger had got the better of me ... a cheese sandwich later and my caching mojo was firing on all cylinders! Thanks for placing this cache.
A nice spot for lunch on our cycle ride up the river. One of the easier caches for avoiding muggles.
I needed to find a cache to fill in my only remaining dot day in April and this one was quite close to where I needed to go anyway. Nobody about when I arrived at GZ and the cache was an easy find, log signed and cache replaced. TFTC
I have a feeling this may have been higher up originally. Council worker mowing the grass areas and dog walkers made this interesting. Nearby picnic table is handy for filling out the log. TFTC. Swapped trinkets.
Found by mum of the awesome4sum while out with the 3bearsnz

A nice short walk and a bit of searching, and we soon had the cache in hand. TFTC!
Lol I was looking for an orange rock. Found it, but may need to looked at by the owner. Cache could not be placed under rock as it kept falling down. Cache is by rocks.
Made an extended search of a wrong area before using the gps and finding the cache.
Quick find but no rocks so placed one on top. Hope this is as intended by the CO. TFTC
Found a few rocks recently scattered about the grass, but I didn't find the cache. Maybe some other day.
Fairly quick find on the way to a day trip to the Wairarapa. Interesting view of the fault. TFTC!
Found this on the way to a friends 60th birthday bash. Will try some more on way home. Thanks
Awesome spot. Some muggles around but they moved on and then sampled some of the blackberries close by.tftc.
Not such a nice day for a bike ride but we still made it. Great spot and cool container. Girls did some swapping. TFTC.

Wet shoes for the first (but not the last) time today as I walked through the long grass to get this one.
Nice easy find.

GPS was a little jittery so found general area and looked for likely site - success!
First find in NZ on this trip. Visiting sister who lives 800m from this cache. (I live in South Australia now. )
River flowing quite steadily after recent reasonable rain falls.
Did my usual 'circle the target' before turning around and spotting the obvious hide.
TFTC nzsas )

Cache #979 - a year on since our last attempt, and found within seconds. Really helps when the cache is actually there! . Thanks for replacing it.

Quickie #2 for the afternoon. Hot out here today, but no time to stop for a dip. TFTC.
Part of a day trip on the bike. Easy find. Very hot day and really hot inmy motor bike gear.
After a drive to the Hutt, I had 3 energetic dogs that needed to use up some energy so we went for a looooong walk to tire em out and got some caches along the way. TFTC...ps. the dogs are soundly sleeping and I am knackered too - lol
