The cache has served its time, served its purpose. It's too hard to find and gets dropped on the ground.
After consultation with local cachers we have decided this park would be perfect for a night cache.

What a great story about the family. Thankfully we get to meet some very interesting people during our lives and this is a nice way to remember people that we meet and enjoy. Thanks for the Cache.
We found the Cache on the ground, it was a little damp but intact, it must have just fallen out we placed it back where we believe it should have been and with some camouflage.

That's a cache container with a difference, can't say we've ever found one before........and how convenient for people interested in genealogy to have the name Rootes. Life's so tidy sometimes. TFTC bristracker.
I dropped my car in at a local establishment for a service, so thought I would head out and grab a few of the caches in this area. I arrived at the GZ for this one and was weary given what the last finder had posted in their log about spiders. So, playing it safe, I poked at the suspected hiding area with a stick and dislodged the cache from its hidey hole...then, without delay, a big looking spider pounced towards my stick with vicious intent! Yes this spider was in attack mode, and certainly was not happy that I removed his cache. Talk about guardian of the cache, wow! That is definitely one committed spider (see picture attached). I signed the log and tentatively replaced Mr Spider's cache and went on my way. I am giving this cache a favorite point purely for the experience alone...and to thank Mr Spider for allowing me to find the cache lol. TFTC
Found it but there is a pair of large spiders that came out at me in attack mode. I don't know what species they are
Nice lil hide was in stealth mode pretended I was on the ph due too muggles all done undetected nice 1 cheers
Upon approaching GZ I noticed something suspicious on the ground but it didn't match the clue. Closer inspection revealed it was indeed the cache but the bag and log were completely saturated. After tipping all the water out of the cache container I assessed the log and deducted it was beyond repair. Luckily I had some spares in the car. Replaced the log and tried to dry out the container as much as I could. It is now hidden back where it should have been all along and with a new log. TFTC. SL.
Found with stairman1 while on a quick visit to GC. Log is in good order. Signed the log then headed off. Great piece of history. Thanks Bristracker
GPS had us in the middle of the empty space so we had to use our heads to look around. TFTC
Out and about caching on a public holiday which meant that practically no-one was around. This made it easy to find.
Thanks for the cache.

No one camping here today. Maybe he is doing his groceries. Log a bit damp, but otherwise great container!!
The man who has moved in and claimed the park as his own was in his van today. As I approached he asked if he could help me as though he had every right to live in the park. I just said no I'm right thank you and he disappeared inside his van. The cache is virtually on his doorstep but with him inside the depths of his "home", I extracted the cache signed the log and went on my way. I wasn't going to let him OWN the park to the exclusion of all others and he probably drew a sigh of relief when I didn't challenge him. Thanks bristracker.
Now this was just a little strange arriving here. The camping did seem a little out of place with wires coming out to solar panels, and such.
It was nice to have the CO Bristracker along to save to much digging for this one with a potential muggle so close by.

Looks like a traveller has turned this location into a tourist park. A crammed with stuff campervan nearby and a couple of solar panels sitting out the back. We didn't knock.
The cache was an exceptionally easy find with the Co leading the way
OrionJ scribbled our names in the logbook and we tiptoed away!

My final find of the afternoon; I was well and truly over it so retreated to the nearby bus shelter and waited 20 minutes for a bus to take me closer to my hotel. Thanks for the cache.
Parked close by and headed on over. Muggle free area which made for an easy find and sign. Cool idea for a cache container bristracker. TFTC.
Fastest found cache yet. Woohoo. We were greeted by a very large, hairy 8 legged friend. Ahhhh.
What a well disguised little container. Almost doesn't need the camo covering it. TNLNSL.
Visiting from Newcastle, staying with my brother in Nerang, found with him (frayeromm), TFTC bristracker!!
Nice quick find. The inside of the cache and the baggie were very wet. The baggie had not been sealed properly, but luckily the log was still dry. I replaced the bag and rehid
After a quick search with geokids we came up with goods. TFTC bristracker

compass was stuffing up but soon the cache was in hand. Was trying to open it from the wrong side of the cache!
My GPS went haywire undey the trees so I had to approach GZ from 3 different directions at all times looking for a forkey tree. At last I found it but the cache was on the ground. TNLN and replaced it where it should have been and covered it wit a single piece of bark about 6 inches long.
This is number 3 i my 7 in 7 days attempt.

Had been looking at caravans nearby with Jack and Denise, and we decided to find a park to have our lunch in. After eating our sandwiches, Caz commented,"there might be a cache here!", so when we returned to our car, we checked out the GPS, and sure enough, there it was, only 7 metres from where we had been sitting.
After a short search, we soon had it logged. TNLN. Thanks bristracker.

Quick find on a dismal day, this game makes going to the shops so much more interesting!! TFTC.
Had often thought this park would be a good place for a cache, and what do you know, there already is one.TFTC. bristracker.
This was to be our last cache for todays outing. A previous log gave a very good hint.

After a lovely picnic at main beach with my niece and nephew I packed up my kids and headed home. But before I got home I had to stop for a cache to do my own personal challange ' a cache each day of may'. And today this was my lucky cache!

My GPS has been pretty far out today, but I managed to find this in the first place I looked due to the pile of Camo over it. Very well covered so only a cacher would know what they were looking at. I swapped the totem badge for an owl badge. TFTC.
have removed the first aid sign - thanks xusia
it was our visitors from Holland who provided a new log- very good of them.

Found today while being chaffeured around the Gold Coast by none other than Captain Terror. We signed a dry log book, so I presume bristracker has performed the required maintenance on this one - the cache is still showing a needs maintenance attribute though - bristracker perhaps you need to remove this? TFTC.
After trotting along the spider webby path from another nearby cache Xusia and I strolled across the park and over towards this one. Showing my keen eye (ain't he humble?) I spotted the cache quite quickly after checking a few spots. But in the spirit I let Xusia keep going and find it for themselves too. A couple of minutes later and he had so the logbook was up for signing. Cache replaced and off to the next one. TFTC bristracker
Plans changed so many times today and it ended up that we had a window of time that I could feed my Geo Junkie persona.
Geo Mum still had things to do but she encouraged me to head on out and Geo Youngest Girl jumped at the opportunity to come with me.
I had worked out a nice group of caches in the Ashmore area and this was my first to hit.
Geo Girl & I set ourselves the challenge of finding the 14 I had on the list in the time we had, as it turned out my GPSr ran out of power before our time did but we finished with a very acceptable 9 smilies which we were both very happy with.
This was a nice one to start with and once the GPS settled down we had the prize in hand after both deciding which was GZ.
Thanks bristracker TFTC SL

Nice an easy find, no problems. Logbook was totally wet and unwriteble, left a blanc piece of paper with our name on it in a new platsic bag. Hopefully this lasts till log gets replaced. TFTC Bristracker!
this was a very easy find as the cache wasnt hidden. when we went there the book was disgustingly dirty and we couldnt sing it as it was unsignable.

Found this one whilst having a quick trip down the coast... easy find as it wasn't exactly hidden... but also logbook is un-signable.... I took a photo to prove I found if necessary but I think this one needs some attention.

Busy road on a Friday. GPS went a bit crazy but then pointed me in the right direction. Log a bit wet but could still write on it. TFTC
Must have been a very productive family. I notice the tree has lots of branches. TFTC bristracker.

I parked the bike against a tree and meant in search of the cache...2 steps later Lucky guess.
Tanks for the cache. Didn't sign forgot pen in car and unfortunately parked all the way on the wrong side and was too tuckered to do it twice
Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
Out caching with Mischievous Maverick (we got leave passes from the other halfs - yay!) Great fun TFTH
With a 'Leave Pass' from MrsMischievousMaverick and MrGreenGeckos on a trip to Cape York, MrsGG and I trundled off to the Gold Cast for the weekend to do a spot of Caching.
It's always an honour to have parks named after you but we think there was more than just a little smirk on the Council officials face when they named a little grove of trees like this one after people so heavily involved in genealogy. At any rate, it's great to see these parks in the middle of surburbia, helping us breathe.

New log in place in plastic bag. The reason for the sodden log was clear - someone had failed to replace the lid on the log container. Never mind, the cache has survived.
An easy find while working on the Gold Coast. As per the last finder, the cache log is fairly wet.

After a stroll over from the main road, Kaisho53 and I had a quick find on this one but, were almost unable to sign the log. I managed through use of a liquid pen but, the log is very wet and could use a replacement.
Unique cache container though, first time I have seen one of these used... [^]
Cheers bristracker.

Wandered between a few likely spots at GZ, but couldn't find it in any of the likely places. Was beginning to wonder how many family trees there could be Then I noticed the container lying on the ground. Signed the log and placed it back in it's hiding spot and concealed it with some bark. Thanks for the cache.
Quick find with Bedmaker. I've always thought it would be interesting to research your family tree.

Found this with TassieGirl13.
Had to wait a few minutes for some muggle who just happen to pull up nearby the cache in his car.
After he moved on we were right and soon had it in our hands.

I called in to check this one. I took the lid off the inner container so it shouldn't get jammed any more. The micro geocoin is still there, has been all along apparently. I took it out of the plastic jacket and left it on top of the log container so the next finder should have no trouble finding it.
Had to go out to nearby cache so checked this one too. The cache has a micro coin at present, and as a result the log container was jammed down the end of the cache container. Needed to get a sharp object to prise it loose. Just keep that in mind if you're visiting. Nice to see a coin in my cache so I discovered it!
This was cache # 9 of 24 for the day, on a great day out caching around the Gold Coast. i enjoyed reading the history behind this cache, I had no trouble finding this one. My thanks to bristracker for the cache.
Cache #4 on our Gold Coast to Brisbane road trip. Spotted the family home and retrieved the cache. TFTC, Biggles.
19th of 29 for the day with two of my kids, James and Jasmine on a bit of a Gold Coast onslaught. Limited to traditionals pretty much with the kids. quick find with the kids. Cheers.
There were two muggles in a car quite near GZ. I was trying to see if I could approach the cache without them seeing when I realised they had gone! It was easy after that. Thanks to bristracker for the cache.
Easy find, not so easy to open the cache! Eventually prised it open and signed the log. TFTC
#4335 Found this cache as part of a recent brissy raid along with Steeba and Big Matt. After the high muggle area of the shopping center this was a much quieter place to be.
Thanks
