Today's trip from Invercargill to Dunedin was primarily to find Table Hill but there is great scenery in the Catlins to see as well. It was good to have a leg stretch.

Together with my family on a vacation trip to New Zealand. Starting at Auckland airport on transfer to Christchurch we went for a roundtrip exploring the south island. This was one of many caches we found while visiting so many nice and interesting places thanks to all the caches why I want to send a thank you to all CO for the work spent. TFTC.
Found on our trip to New Zealand crossing the southern island.
Today from Invercargill to Duneden via the Catlins!
Unfortunately a pocket-query created of the wrong route so we missed
the caches of the first 150 km!

Don't ya just love it when nature provides a perfect cache hiding spot... That's exactly what I found for this one and on arrival, I noticed something out the corner of my eye. On closer inspection, I found the cache in a neat little den... [^]
With the log out and names in, it was back in place in no time and we moved on.
Found in the company of fellow Queensland hunters OziBags, TheFourBees, Ghostgums and Mr Meccano.
Cheers AdventureTharon.

Caching with Ghostgums, Mr Meccano, Gunnie69, kaisho53 and fourbees after attending the NZ Mega. No one in the area so we piled out of the geomobile for a quick search and find. TFTC AdventureTharon.
A quick find as we made our way from Dunedin to Invercargill on a nice sunny day (for a change!). At this point we were still leapfrogging all the way to Balclutha, with our new friends FelixII. Thanks Adventure Tharon.
After a couple of days in Dunedin it was time for the team to head to Invercargil. This was one of the many stops along the way. Another neat little find for us.
Found with ZsaZsa7, Winglen, fitzy_1965 and Rextrex (local NZer) on our trip around the South Is after attending the New Zealand Mega. We managed to grab a few caches on travels and this was just one of them.
Thanks for the cache and the chance to see more of the South island.

Last day of our MEGA cache raid so we decided to head south. Lucky the place was deserted so a quick find but no time to rest TFTC.
Day 11 of our NZ tour for the MEGA. Mr Felix is having a Birthday today , Hip Hip Hooray Happy Birthday.
We headed out of Dunedin today about 9.30am with no set plans but with a possibility of stopping overnight in GORE. You can't travel too far when there are so many caches to stop you every few km's. (unless you go past some of course.....)
Yet again we were leapfrogging with our new geofriends!
Mrs Felix attempted this one as Mr Felix turned the car around, but no cache on initial inspection, appears she was approaching from the wrong side.
All sorted and onwards we bound.

As we pulled into the spot, a camper van was parked up right infront of GZ. Luckily for us, it moved on after just a few minutes.
Quick find and we were on our way once again. Queenstown here we come.

With the N Z Mega Event over, and the cleaning up of the venue completed, it was time for us to continue our adventure in the South Island. We were taking the scenic route down to Curio Bay and across to Invercargill. We had no difficulty in locating the cache and with the log signed, we jumped back into our cache mobile to continue the journey. Thank you for having placed the cache Adventure Tharon
Just about to pull away when another cacher pulls in - all the way from Perth. Had a quick chat then off again. TFTC #4031

All the prizes having been awarded, hugs and handshakes of farewells until Adelaide 2014 shared, we set off southwards in convoy with Pprass & Squalid toward Invercargill. It was the perfect spot for a break, as we had quite a number of cars behind us. We believe it is a courtesy on NZ roads to let the faster travellers past - and we like the custom.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt AdventureTharon.

Arrived just as another cacher was leaving. We had a quick chat before she left (isis58 from the logs) then I went searching. An awkward retrieval for me (big hands) but I succeeded and signed the log shortly after. Thanks to isis58 for the chat and AdventureTharon for the cache.
Found while on way home from Camporee at White Rock Canterbury. There was a campervan parked right next to cache so approached carefully not noticing the Preguin flag on back window (was folk from Brisbane attending the Mega event in Dunedin) TFTC.
It was not that restful here today as the hail was heavy and it hurt! We were looking just at the wrong time but luckily we found the hide fairly quickly. Thanks for the cache.
Found at 4:02:00 PM. In Dunedin for the Mega and seeing some of the sights in the surrounding area.
Thanks AdventureTharon

Another great find on the Emvy_Us / Waiiti20 mega tour of the Southern South Island. TFTC
Yep - we took a rest . Thanks for a nice quick smiley. Good hints. Had done a quick detour for more pics of steam train heading south - tftc
Sent the day before attending the Mega on a road trip south to Balclutha. Took a short rest here, just long enough to find the cache. TFTC

After the run from Christchurch down the west coast heading to the mega event at Dunedin, the junction of the highways was as far south as I am heading this trip, and quite possibly as far south as I will ever be. So we pulled up and looked for the nearest cache which was this one, slightly further south. A quick find once in the parking area, thanks AdventureTharon.
Just for the record - we liked staying at the barn (backpackers).
It was a fine sunny morning. Just right for a drive in the country.
Neat hidey hole.
SamWalkers caching with Mr Roo on the way to NZ Mega.

Found on the trip to the NZ mega with Sam walkers. First of the day after staying in Milton at the local backpackers (the Barn). We were heading towards Queenstown way seeing how far we could get before heading back into Dunedin for the mega. We decided why not going past the road to there and getting this cache before we headed that way. Made a quick find then were on our way TFTC
Thanks for the cache Adventure Tharon. We stopped here for a hopeful quick smilie on our journey to Dunedin for the NZMEGA and we were not disappointed. Thanks for placing the cache for us and others to find. Nice hide.
Had just located the cache when a couple of cars swooped in with aussie flags flying !!! must be cachers we thought and we were right !!! very nice to have meet you all and hope you had a great flying visit to Invercargill and Bluff - log was signed by all before being popped back - the aussies went one way and we headed on into Dunedin thanks for the cache and a good spot to stand and chat awhile
The beauties of caching is finding places like these when you are stranger to an area!! This has been one of the many attractions to caching for me along with meeting like minded people who love caching ( ok im obsessed with it lol) TFTC
Cache number #9 in the South Island while on my way to the Mega event. No time to rest but did say Hello to Kitty. TFTCSL
The cache you find without having to look for. We drove up to find it in the hands of a couple of other cachers. An easy find for us. TFTC
Quick find while a car of muggles slept nearby. Well it did say. " take a rest".
On our way to Invercargill for a quick visit before the fun of the Mega commences. Sprung some people looking very furtive as we pulled up, guess what they were doing! Funny! TFTC
Mower guy gave us a wave as we left. The nut was pleased to capture a munzee too!
couldn't remember the clue and gps sent me right to the center of the carpark, had a good hunt round but no luck today
Branched off on return trip from Southern visit to get this one that eluded me in the past.
Nice hide, but still a quick find.

Headed out to the snow today - with a bit of a detour through southland... hmmm... geocaching!!
This was the fourth one we found today, of like 31 in the trip down.
And, so we did take a quick rest - well mum took the rest, I jumped out and found the cache which I managed to spot from the car! Had to be pretty quiet and pretty quick too, as there was some freedom campers parked pretty much right next to the cache, however they didn't seem to be awake yet! So a sneaky wee grab, and I had the cache!! Mwahahaha

Stopped by on a grey morning on my way from Dunedin to Invercargill on the Southern Scenic Route. Took a wee bit of time to locate, but since no one was around, no problem with the hunting. All in good shape.
