I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi XenaCommander
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Oh dear - the shame of a blue face! I looked for this cache nearly 7 years ago, and thought that as we were driving past here today, I would change it to a yellow smiley, but it was not to be! Still have no idea where this one is unfortunately. Maybe in another 7 years!!!
We searched and then searched some more but no luck. Like those who have been before us, the coordinates were not helpful and we found heaps of blackberries resulting in many prickles in our fingers and feet. Beware of all the broken glass as well.
We looked in the obvious and not so obvious places but luck wasnt on our side. Fun trying tho
Will try again next time we are this way.
Thanks for unfound cache.

I am not sure if GPS was jumping around bit too many blackberry bushes for me to use my hands so I will put on my watch list and have another look when someone else finds it.
Like many others I found GZ to be a red herring and although I had a quick look there was absolutely no way a cache was here so I went to the obvious place and lucked out here too. I looked in other not so obvious places and still nothing. Perseverance and reading back through logs gave me enough of a clue to backtrack and look harder and eventually this paid off.
I found my target but the container has become a little squashed so getting the log out was an adventure in itself and again perseverance won and I was able to sign it.
I have no idea what the passing traffic thought of this crazy lady behaving like a kid but I did get a couple of waves and toots for my efforts and they got a thumbs up back.

Ran out of time on this one as my GPS had me in the wrong place i think but H8bby was waiting in car. so had to leave it We travelled north and are holidaying in and around the Coromandel staying in motels, with friends and in our tent while getting out each day to see the sights, swim in the beautiful beaches or go for walks etc as well as locating a few geocaches, of course. We have had good weather the whole time with just a few showers at night and some wind while at hahei.
Thank you for this cache to all the Cache owners and another smiley face.

Driving up to Auckland today gave me the opportunity to pick up a few caches along the way.
I was in a buoyant mode as I stopped to grab this one, but the co-ords took me to a spot a little bit away from any obvious location, and so having satisfied myself it wasn't there, I turned my attention to the very obvious potential location for a cache, but still turned up nothing after several circuits, and a lot of pricked fingers! I then looked along the length of the other obvious 'above ground' potential hiding spots, but to no avail.
I've driven past this spot so many times before in the past without giving it a moment's thought, but since discovering Geocaching I now see everything from a renewed perspective, so thank you for placing and maintaining this cache.

Struggled today to find this one. Ended up having to do some first aid on a BlackBerry injury.
After seeing the last log was a DNF we were thinking we might not be able to find this one. We hunted for quite some time and then 'The Mr' tried something different and bingo! there was the cache in its awesome camo bag. So pleased to be able to put a smiley on this one. TFTC
Was a bit worried that this cache hadn't been logged for seven months and that it might have perished but we found it! Still soggy as reported before but was able to write the soggy log and return it into its hideyhole. Watch out for the blackberry prickles.
This hunk of rock seems a bit strange just sitting out here all on its own. Approached GZ and did a circuit of the rock without spotting anything which could be hiding the cache. Checked the GPS and it was pointing away from the rock to a location over by the crash barrier. Strolled over and then the GPS pointed back towards the rock!! humm, ahh power lines that would cause things to jump around. Another circuit of the rock again checking - just to see if I had overlooked anything. Nope. Decided to check in a different place to then make an instant find. Log signed and cache returned as found.
Cache is in good condition, but its vegetative protection has dried up and its pretty easy to spot.

Travelling home from the Turangi MEGA with UncleSamNZ and Wolfie109, in convoy with the Stik-a-Crane team, and we had decided to stop and grab a few caches as we made our way north.
Power lines were playing havoc with the GPS, so we were searching in all sorts of places, just in case. Even resorted to PAF to ensure we were indeed in the right place. Cache was found by one of the younger team members while playing, as she happened to glance in the right direction, and find she was staring right at it!
Log signed as Team SEAC, as we had about half of Team SEAC with us!

Today heading home from the 2016 MEGA in Turangi... had a blast.... caching enroute.... and this was a must do today as we had a quick look on the way down on the 21st, but the rain started to monsoon down so it cut our search short...

We were travelling north home from the MEGA with other members from Team SEAC, and the logs were signed with Team SEAC to save space. As mentioned by NZT the log was a sodden mess, and was replaced by the group before we moved on. Our last cache on the trip home. Found with purply, keylev, laval, craggar, NZTravellers. TFTC.
Had been in Turangi for the 2016 Mega event and were now heading back home to Auckland.
Caching on the way back and grabbing caches that were close to the main route we had planned for out return trip.
We found this one with the log book a sodden pulp. We replaced this in a new plastic zip lock bag.

In town for the 2016 Mega. Most logs done as "Team Seac" or as Uncle Sam.
Sorry for the generic cut and paste logs. But thank you for taking the time to place this cache.

Co ordinatrs had us well out. Went round and round rock. Got ripped by blackberry. Took ages to find which was frustrating on a day we were trying to speedily get to Hamilton. Then found log too wet for us to sign grrr. Needs attention.
Was worried about this one as we approached because of the previous logs. It was a quick find for us today. Log is disintegrating and needs replacing. Scary how this was once surrounded by trees. TFTC
Found with KJUPA. Couldn't sign as log soaked. Will make a maintenance request. TFTC
Found after about 5 mins of looking. Very water loged though. Didn't have paper on me at the time to put in there will come back and put some in a ziplock.
Tftc..
Tftc..
After nearly giving up my dad found it, his eyes old eyes are clearly better than mine There is a lot of blackberry that will soon cover the whole rock. Tftc it was a challenge
We decided on our F.O.T- Road Trip from Auckland to Ruapehu with slieschke & evilno9 to avoid Taupo and take a curvy detour. After a long time driving we needed a quick stop to stretch our legs. We started searching left and right, on top, left and right again. Finally we made the find and returned to the car well stretched. TFTC
First cache of the day with slieschke and alpenmilch80 on our Ruapehu road trip and it may have been the early start, the coffee not yet kicking in, or something else but we spent a fair while not finding the cache before alpenmilch80 finally revisited a previous search area and had the cache in hand. Sweet rock - TFTC
Plenty of space to park, but not much forest. Does this mean the extra oxygen released by the trees is being replaced by extra methane released by the dairy cows? Cache soon found and signed. TFTC.
We had a DNF here several years ago when the rock was in the middle of a pine forest. It was a bit of a shock to see the change in the landscape here today.
It wasn't where the coords were taking us, but we raised our game and soon had it. TFTC.
Found cache. Full of water. Going to leave paper out to dry next to cache location for an hour or two in the sun (12:30pm) and place back inside cache on way home. Any issues, please call me : 0273294085
Nothing obvious on my 1st circuit of the rock, but increased the terrain rating and the cache was mine. Made me wonder if the CO is fairly tall, unlike me of hobbit stature who often has to scramble when other cachers find things within easy reach! Thanks for the fun, TFTC
Had attempted a few days prior on the way to Auckland. DNF-ed and upon reading some previous logs quickly realised the error of my ways. A quick find today, using the new information, and taking the obvious steps. Still evidence of der and pig skulls surrounding the Rock.
A quick leg-stretch on a loooooong drive from Auckland back to Wellington.

Took a couple of laps to find the cache. My GZ was a wee way from the actual. Thanks.
Time to head home, next stop Palmerston North.
Thanks for the hide.

Although an obvious sort of name the co-ordinates threw us off a bit, but got there anyway, thank you.
Driven pass a number of times and thought, great place for a cache and what do ya know.
For us this was no quickstop.Spent quite a lot of time going round,up & over. After reading a few logs I had a second look at you know where & spied it.Well done guys, a fav, thankyou.
Driven this road about 50 times but never noticed the giant rock before - cool spot!
I was on my way to Turangi to book the site for a large event happening in 2016 and decided to go make a full loop around the lake. There were a few quick stops to make for caches to grab on route as well.
This cache had me circumnaivigating a few times to find a spot to get up but once there a quick easy find. Thanks for the cache

TYFC , Ist time \i have been thru here in 53 years and I only live 80 kms down road.
Have driven past this spot many a time but never been a position to stop, and if I had kept to the original plan I would never have stopped today as today would now be tomorrow and i would have been rushing past once again on my way south.
So having stopped i soon had the cache in hand, signed and returned and all safe and sound
Thanks for the placement

Found on way home from a FTF hunt of which we were pipped for every one . I go past here every day for work but feel too exposed to pick it up normally . More exposed than it used to be. Tftc
A giant could of placed this rock here??
Systematic search around the rock and I eventually found the cache. TFTC.

This was my first attempt at Geocaching, and couldnt find it so continued to Whakamaru and completed the "Whakamaru Picnic", then stopped and had another look on my way home and found it, so pleased with myself, can see I will get hooked on this
Wat a bummer - couldn't locate it! Was wondering if the co-ords were out and looking at other logs it appears that this is correct. Will look harder in the most obvious place (amongst the blackberry) next time.
My first after dark cache. Stopped in with KiwiRupen on the way home. Found quickly, along with a weta . TFTC.
Found with geowhanau on road trip from Mango to Tauranga. Let 3yo geokid find this one so he wouldn't have a sookie
had been rehidden well by previous finder... which just happens to be my sister in law haha.

Nice quick stop on this Christmas Day . Left a little puzzle in camo bag, as a Xmas gift for the next cache huntah!!
Heading south on the reverse cycle of the big Christmas road trip. Decided to come this way, a road less travelled, so to speak.
Not quite the quick stop that we might have expected. Coords seem to be a tad out, at least, after some searching we narrowed it down and did the business.
All in order; log signed, cache safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

All the trees close by have been felled so a nice fresh pine smell at GZ but the outlook is probably not as nice as it was. Fairly obvious where the cache would be given the title which is just as well as the GPS was still reading 18 m at GZ.
Many thanks
Many thanks
New Zealand 2103 trip for the Auckland Mega at Albany. Day 10, Taupo to Te Kuiti. I found myself walking around and around this big rock. When I stopped letting my self be distracted by passing motorbikes I eventually located the right crevice to get this one. Thanks.

Stopped here on the way to 4x4 camp with the Welcome Bay Venturers. With 5 of us searching it didn't take too long to find, though a couple of the Venturers weren't too happy about the pig skulls around! TFTC, it gave us something to do to break the trip up
Found this a month ago and forgot to log! Was around where I expected it to be...
Slight detour off the road home made this one a drive by. We had almost done the circuit around the rock and passed the pig skin (luckily not so smelly today) when Richard spied the cache - Now off home after a great day down this way and exploring the Pureroas. TFTC
A not so quick stop on the trip back to Taranaki from Lichfield. Still some rotting pig skins that didn't smell too nice around the rock. With the GPS pointing elsewhere and the cachers foe blackberry bitting it took a couple of circuits to grab this one. TFTC
A wild pig skin and head appeared to be drying on the rock so cache retrieval was one handed as the other was holding hanky across nose. Is the skin and head symbolic or just convenient? []:0] TFTC anyway .
Bridgeaway and Gregolas must have eaten all the blackberries and the muggle mower man mowed the rest so no feast for us.
Fortunately mower man had already done as far as the rock and moved on to the far side so he wasn't a problem and Mr S soon had the cache in hand. Like the camoed log book.
Thanks XenaCommander.

Enjoyed the blackberries even though they got their revenge lol. We wondered how the rock got there too. Only walked around it twice before she found it. Another find on our way to Mangakino for the weekend. Tftc
We also circumnavigated the world before locating. I like the camo logbook. TFTC

On our way to Tokorua and saw that this had been replaced. Found on second search around rock. TFTC.
Drove out after failing to find Moana -Nui Picnic. Parked off the road and right next to the rock. The skulls and skins were still present, but not offensive. I was awestruck by this rock... It's huge enough to affect the shape of the nearby road. Can't go over it... Better go around it.
My Garmin was out on the coords, so had a wander first. Came in to circle the rock, but nothing stood out. Got to a certain point and had a scratch around and struck the cache. Signed log and returned exactly as found. Thanks for enabling, and TFTC.

XC and TK stopped here to check out the environment.. All decaying animal carcasses have disappeared so have replaced cache.. All good to go.
Hint still valid.

Thanks for the heads up Wanderer... Last time I stopped at GZ it was not very pleasant... Locals use it to slaughter pigs... and left carcasses rotting close by... Would prefer to wait till it is a bit more sanitary. Will check again next time through else archive it.
