This was a fun one! We have to remember these types of hides for the future fun. Our coords were out, we went across the path and - boom - spotted. TFTC!
A well thought out hide which is a hallmark example of caches devised by J 'N' K a partnership of two of our earliest geocachers And thanks Jodanz for taking over this one Well worth a FP
Some of the previous clues helped me out, otherwise couldve taken a lot a lot longer. We came across another cacher too.
Wohoo! That was an exciting end to todays adventure. Coming down the hill, marveling at all these tracks, I came across a lovely couple by the track signage. Knowing a search party would be out for me soon (having been so long today) I tentatively asked them if they were geocaching. Yes they replied! Yay! That meant 3 pairs of eyes on this one instead of my own. I kept mulling over the title - took a bit but we got there on the end. A super clever hide! Way to go Jodanz- very cool
Gosh quiet the dodgy street to manoeuvre about in. Mrs P jumped out while mr b found a dodgy park. Mrs P had already found the cache in the first place she looked before Mr b had even parked up.
The log is missing ( log holder has come unstuck)
Creative hide that I can see some would struggle with.
There is no logThank you J 'N' K, adopted by JODANZ for placing this cache.

This cache gets a favourite, as it wasn’t until I turned around while ringing a friend, she didn’t answer, that I spotted the hide. My GPS on my phone was playing up under the trees, and I was most definitely in the wrong spot. Favourite given.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Jodanz.

A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I cruised around today, picking up the odd cache on our journey to Palmerston North. The weather was good most of the day, and the traffic was OK too.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Set out after brekker as OP44 had encouraged us to try this out if we were in the area. I think I would have twigged, but KR beat me to it. Sweet az. Thanks Jodanz
*Catching up on some loooong overdue logs*Out with GeoHubby (GNARwhal) on a Sunday caching mission. It took us a few minutes to find but we both agreed this cache is one of our favourites. Thanks for the cache.
Off on our usual rapid-fire impromptu cache Grab-n-Dash with Geowife LL113 Left GeoSpawn 5 with Geospawn 2 and bolted
A very clever cache placement which MrB had quickly in hand!! It was a bit of a walk up but worth it when you come back with a smiley. Definitely enjoyed this one
It took a wee while to spot something that didn't seem quite right, then take the necessary action to retrieve the log. A favourite from us. TFTC
In the area with JustLookingOO who said I just had to do this one. She was right, what a great cache
My dad showed me this one when I was younger. Checked again to see if it was still there. Brought back memories.
We had such a good time yesterday in and around Lower Hutt that we decided to go back over again today for another crack.
Cache # 16 for us today and of all the caches we had planed for today for some reason this was the one I was the most nervous about. We managed to sneakily park our tiny Suzuki Alto Geo-mobile right near the the top of the hill for an easy walk to GZ. Upon arrival I was about to settle into my search when my Geo-wife turned to me with the cache in hand! Simple, don't know that I was worried about.

I was in the area so had a look. It is still there. Did not see the spider. My phone said 5m when I was right near it. It is about chest height.
Wow that needed some logic to figure out. After standing in the rain for at least 15 minutes. Innovative. Oh yes there is a huge spider with eggs there. Thanks.
The last time I was here was January, 2013. By then I had found only about 120 caches - I was still new to this thing, and I had yet to assume the "Assume nothing, check everything" mantra. So, yes, I walked away from here with a DNF.
This time I am just a few caches shy of 16000 finds and after stumblig around for a minute or two I spotted the hide and went over to check it out. Yep there are two tell tales, it must be it. And it was. A nice easy find (once I saw the hide from afar, of course). And no, there was no hope I was ever going to find this way back in 2013!

Out on a sunny Saturday with TharntheHalken. A clever hide, although disturbed a BIG black Bush spider when opened. Tftc!
#1593. Need this one for a July challenge. Had a DNF way back on 4/8/19, when I said it was too tricky. Still pretty tricky but with more experience since 2019, nailed it this time in between showers and assisting with running the North Island table tennis champs in Petone.
Tftc JODANZ.

In the area today so stopped by for a look here. After finding a park and making my way up the (steep) hill I arrived at the location and started to look at all the options. I got lucky, the first item I decided to check was exactly what I was looking for. A nice hide that could easily be missed - TFTC
Great urban cache! Double bagged log as ink seems to have run sometime in the past. Now all tucked away nice and dry. A favourite from me. TFTC.
Although this is close to a road I came here after following the Hayward track from Mawson Street which was a great walk I hadn't done before. When I arrived I started looking for something more traditional before realizing that was the wrong mindset. So I switched to "observation mode" which meant standing around on the track surveying the scene for several minutes. Then finally, I realized an item I had looked at several times since arriving might be worth a closer look and indeed there was the cache. If I was pressured by time or muggles I might well have DNFed this but it was very rewarding to eventually spot this. Giving this an FP. TFTC!
Found it! The object was lying on the ground and it took me a while to realise that it was what I was looking for! Clever TFTC
Very cool hide. We had a teachers only day so miss 7 and I came. Spotted something out of place and signed.
Hunted high and low, well not right down to GL. Too tricky for me today. Have to come back again.
Found a few months ago, logged on my phone but now Geocaching.com says I haven't logged them, so logging again. Found a few like this in the UK, l love them.
I actually signed this a couple of years ago, not realizing it was disabled. I didn't claim the find then, but came back today, and re-signed it, so am now logging it as found. All good here. TFTC.
Here for the day to see my daughter performing at the Wellington fringe. Headed up to the walking tracks. Was pleased as found 12 out of 14 caches. Good work out on the way up. Such great views over the valley. No joy finding this one.
I drove up here early last night when it was starting to get dark. I had a quick look with no luck so I have made my way back out here with more luck on my side and made a successful find. This cache is similar to one that I own on Longfellow street in upper hutt. TFTC + fav point
Found while out on walk with muggle wife. Quick and easy aa good hint. TNLNSL, TFTC.
Didn't realise this was temporarily disabled as we were using an old pocket query. Took much longer to find than it should have and I had actually jiggled the hide without realising this was it (hindsight is great isn't it). On replacing the log it dropped to the ground so I made a field repair, although it is a shame previous finders could not have done this as it very close to a road end and not a huge effort to revisit and fix.
Gets a well deserved FP.

This previous finder believes the GS rules are very clear about what's an owner's responsibility, and the finder's domain, and would never presume to fix someone else's work; aside from living miles away and carless.
Found and signed log - didn't realise it was disabled! (I'm pretty slack when it comes to updating my GPSr.) Retrieved the two trackables - thought they shouldn't remain in a disabled and broken cache.
Cunning hide! Though easier than it should have been due to needing maintenance. Enjoying the thought & effort put into this series. Thanks J 'N' K!
Sneaky wee hide here but rather quick find.. needs a sligt bit of maintainence but other than that all good.. tftc
Very nice hide that took me a few minutes to discover. I have run past this item too many times to recall, notice it each time I go past but for some reason it was not top of mind when looking for the cache!
The cache itself could use some TLC as it is losing its ability to hold the logbook.

A nice easy find at GZ, although the colony of cockroaches I disturbed didn't seem pleased that I'd come visiting. Have an FP for another instalment in an interesting series.

It didn't take us long to find the illusion. All was as it should be and the log was quickly signed. TFTC
Struggled for a while but then randomly stumbled on it. Awesome! J N K you have posted some of best caches in wellington
Today was a wet and miserable day in Lower Hutt. Decided that there wouldn't be many people out and about, so an ideal day for geocaching.
Found this one and took the trackable.
Thank you

We love these types of caches. Haven't found one like this before though, very unique. Believe it or not we managed to leave a trackable. So come get Rupert the Rooster and add some miles to him in New Zealand. We found him in Australia and thought he needed to explore a "new" country.
A nice quick find after finishing trecking around the Wainui hills.
Great camo!

Found on a short but very pleasant walk around parts of the Reserve. It was our second look and were pleased to find it. The log in a plastic bag was lying on the ground but we have reinstated it in its hidey hole as we think it should be. The velcro may be getting a little less sticky hence it falling out. TFTC
