Drove past this cache today on the way home and noticed that the area has just been cleared for development. The inevitable has arrived unfortunately so ye old peppermint tree is no more To the archive with ye!
P.S. At least according to the inventory listings there weren't any TB's in it!

First find for my daughter and I. So close to home. Such a awesome idea!!!! Not sure the poor tree will last much longer though
Excellent old peppie tree. Hope it survives the development. Not many around this size. Thanks
Nice easy find to start the day. Makes a change from not finding any for a while There is a new primary school being built very close by (due to open 2013), but it hasn't actually disturbed the cache itself. I think it's just outside their boundary. Nice find close to home TFTC
Relatively quick find, considering how many hiding spots there could be at this gz. I too hope they don't remove the tree to make way for new housing. Thanks VolKayno
Easy find. Approaching this I thought it may have suffered the effects of development, but it survives...just. TFTC.
Lucky spotted the container and signed the log - love old peppermint tree so lovely shadow... Thanks VolKayno.
What a gorgeous old tree!!!!!! This was my first find how exciting!!!! Yay I'm now a official goecacher!!!
We drove right beside this tree before realising it was a bit wet! Had to move back a bit to be able to walk to the cache. Hmmm dont think the tree will last much longer with so much development in the surrounding area.

What a beautiful old tree with so much life living in it! I hope they leave it there and some lucky person ends up with it in their back yard. Tftf
Thanks for the cache VolKayno, I hope the tree stays, it looks like the area maybe turned into a park.
This was the 2nd time we went for a look, last time it was getting dark and we didnt have a torch. An easy find in the light. The escavation is getting very close to the tree. I hope it stays. TFTF
This is our 4401st overall find.
Found at about 1:18 PM. I was up and down and all over but I found it in the end! I was a bit nervous wandering through the long grass but didn't hear anything slither...
Thanks to VolKayno for the cache.

What a fantastic tree, I hope nothing happens to it. Found the cave easily enough as it started to rain. Tftc.
This whole area didn’t show up on the maps of our car GPS so navigating around to get to the caches here was a little different, fun and interesting. We spotted the old tree from a distant, parked our car and made our way on foot across to the cache. Hope the tree survives with all the new houses being built. Very nice spot for a cache. Thanks VolKayno for showing us this place.
Hopefully when they develop the rest of this estate they will keep this beautiful old tree. TFTC
What a great old tree - we hope you start a "save the peppermint tree" campaign if they threaten to bulldoze it. Quick find. TFTH
Don't think this is where it should have been - it was sitting in the open on the ESE of the peppermint. We put it in the base of the tree on the ESE, covered it with some leaves and put a three-forked branch pointing to it.
Beware; I think Muggles are messing with this one. Found it caste aside in the open.
As our log is so late, we can see why we possibly didn't find it, after quite a lengthy search! Better luck next time!
Spent 10 minutes looking around the wrong tree b4 I remembered the description. Searched high and low and in as many nooks and crannies as I dared put my hand and couldn't see hide nor hair of it.
Hats off to the keen ones to find that one in the dark! Great tree, hope it survives the next housing development. Too small for the NZ GeoCoin, so TN, left dice, TFTH
FTF All was quiet in the house and then the call went up that a new cache had been published. What is one to do? Wait until morning? Not likely! We grabbed the Geodog, a couple of head torches and drove off into the darkness. A suitable parking spot was soon found and not a 4WD in sight. After trampling through the long grass we found the tree in question. There are so many possible spots for a cache to be hidden and we found it at 2120 hours. It was at this point that I noticed a ute going slowly past for the second time. Thinking we were about to be sprung by the local Neighbourhood Watch, we beat a hasty retreat. TNLNSL Thanks for the cache VolKayno
STF! We saw the new cache listed, but we were in a quandry - we had dinner guests and we were enjoying their company so we knew rjm1 would get to it before us. So waited till the guests departed at 10 pm then quickly donned the caching gear, grabbed the head torches and geo pooch and headed to GZ. No-one about except the odd car headed home at the end of the day. We didn't have any trouble working out where the cache would be - having sussed out a couple of typical VolKayno caches before. It lived up to our expectations!
