A great view from GZ. We are heading home after spending the weekend around the dargaville area and detoured to get this one. Cache is all good. Thanks for the placement.
A short detour to this cache on our way to Dargaville. While Tuolei turned the car around I made a nice quick find of the cache thanks to the hint
On a caching trip to Dargaville to do some cache maintenance and get a few caches along the way. I put a call out on the Auckland Geocachers group to see if anyone would come and keep me company on the drive as it can be a bit of a drag to do a big drive by myself. Fortunately Jag50, Merlot58 and Team Welsh agreed to come so a full car made our way around.
This was our fifth cache of the day, I was pleasantly surprised that there were a few caches to get on the trip when I thought I was just going to be doing cache maintenance. Dropped Merlot off here and she got the cache found nice and quickly while I turned the car around on the country road. Nice view here indeed, the river was looking great. Thanks for the cache, all good here.

On our caching journey up to the north with EyeSpyBen to sort out a few more caches and a couple of series, many miles driven over many days and many caches found, not to many dnfs
but lovely weather, Thanks to all the cache owners for the placements

1135. 2:53 pm. Another cache with some great views. I added a new log sheet. TFT(drive, park and grab)C.
We are on our summer holiday, we usually take a few weeks and travel around the South Island, but this year we are heading around the North Island. Heading up the West coast and back down the East coast. Finding only a select few caches along the way, we are mostly targeting some challenges we have qualified for, some large size caches, some that fill gaps in our date placed grid, a few D/T combinations, some with lots of favourite points, letterboxes and anything else that grabs our fancy.
I had a fall on day two of our holiday, while out geocaching which has resulted in a fractured bone in my leg and I am in a moon boot and with crutches and I was told to keep weight off my leg. So I am only limited use when it comes to our trip now. I tend to stay in the campervan and just hand out suggestions of when and where GK should search.
A nice quick find here, gk took some photos of the amazing views, that river is something else.
This is why I love geocaching, as we would not have driven up this road and seen the views if it were not for this cache, so thank you I will give it a favourite point to try to encourage others to come up and have a look.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.

I had to jump over a few puddles to get there, and search a bit as the cache was in quite deep. TFTC!!
Quick find as we drove north from visiting the Kauri Museum. Enjoyed the views. TFTC
Needed a stretch after been in the car for a while. Nice view and easy cache find. TFTC.
On our way home after a few days wandering around the northland area. We detoured to have a look for this but as we arrived at GZ a farmer went past on his bike. Mrs S got out of the camper while Mr S turned it around and the farmer came back up the hill. Oh dear are we going to muggled?. Mr S parked, and Mr Farmer turned around again and came back to us and stopped. Oops. Yes we are being muggled. However instead of demanding to know what we were doing he proceeded ask us if we were "treasure hunters". When we replied in the affirmative he told us he knew all about the cache and pointed out where it was. We chatted to him for a while and he said there are probably two or three campers a month stopping by and sometimes he reads the logs as well. Just to see what people say. He wished us good luck and continued on his farming way. Lol.
Thanks Grobyc.
PS: It was a great view of the river.

Encountered roads works at the car parking area but good shelter provided by the little slope. Took longer than it should have as the hint threw us.

I was able to find this Cache after driving along the river and taking a look at all the Kumara plants growing on the side of the road towards the river. The view from up here is amazing. The road to GZ has a little drain going across shortly after the road turned into a gravel road.
On our way back to our camp site at Matakohe, tooka quick detour up to grab this cache. Found quite easily, thanks
What a view, what a river! Nice easy park and grab on a pre event caching adventure.
Found together with tenavat on our holidays. Thank you very much for this great cache.

Found this way on our way south. Thank you very much for the cache and excuse the unspecific log, there have been too many caches and no opportunity to log because there was no internet.
Northland Day 1: We drove up from Auckland to Hokianga today, passing through the Hibiscus Coast before heading across to Kaipara District and then into the Hokianga Harbour. Stopped by various beautiful regions along the way to take in the views, and of course, there was always room a few cache finds... well, not a few Thanks to all the COs along the way for showing us the lovelier parts of the Northland!
The following is the specific log for each cache:
The views here were pretty decent, and a nice change after the straight flat roads of the region. Straightforward cache here, no trouble at all, especially with the new cache container that has been put in. TFTC!

It’s Sunday morning and I have left home in Auckland at 2:30am, FMZ has picked me up and we then drove over the shore to pick up our other mad caching buddy Lostcourse and we are generally heading around Northland and south of Dargaville to cache in areas we have not been to before. We’re up for a big day of caching, many caches to find and we have a plan of sorts but not really. It's almost light when we pull up here. Since my two colleagues have been to this cache before, it's my turn to jump from the vehicle and establish my name upon the cache. But ALAS... that can't be done! The container is a mess, lid broken in several pieces, log is mush, so just took a foto instead. C.O may choose to see the foto or not.
I am making my way north of Dargaville, this afternoon, to visit my parents. Nice to find some hides along the way as it really helps to break up the trip. I made the shortish detour of the main road and headed up another gravel road. I parked up next to GZ and got to searching. Cache was soon in hand. Container is no longer water tight; it is cracked and had holes. Log book is in a rather tatty state too. Anyway, cheers for the cache placement!
Over west to clear a few green spots on the map. Drove up here for the good river views and once at GZ, the cache was soon found in the hint location. TFTC
Got a ride over to dargaville with sister. Grabbed her car while she had her hair done. Oops metal road - might gave to do some cleaning. Log book is full - sorry but I didn't have any spare. Thanks for the cache Grobyc
What a great out look from this cache..nice easy find and quick sign ...managed to miss the muddy spotthanks grobyc for the cache noted geo coin
Heading out of Dargaville now and stopped to get this cache and look at the view. I have left a TB to continue its journey.
Found it on our way back to Auckland after meeting mighty Tāne Mahuta. The view from GZ was amazing. TFTC
This was a lovely road to drive up and admire the river below.
Well worth the diversion and a quick find
Cheers

A short detour off the main road. Our 4 year old managed to hunt this one down which was our 5th find of the day. Www.ourawesomeworldadventure.wordpress.com
A straight forward find, and good to get high enough to get excellent views of the river and surrounds, thanks Grobyc.
On my way from Auckland to Dargaville and I felt like searching for another cache. I just overtook a load of very slow tractors, which I had to overtake again after I logged this cache and moved on to my destination. Thanks for showing the beautiful view!
Today was another nice day for our holiday trip in new zealand were we of course also found some caches along the way.
Today we took a trip from kerikeri back to Auckland.
This is one of them. thank you for maintaining this cache.

Searched the area of and around coordinates. Found something that looks like a place for a cache, but no cache. Maybe muggled? Nice view though
Opononi to Mangawhai
Today we drove from the west coast back to the east coast, through windy mountain roads & forest areas. Some magnificant scenery seen again.
Thanks for placing this cache Grobyc

Easy park and grab. Lovely views on our way back to Auckland. No pen in car but likely children's crayons. TFTC
The clouds cleared enough for us to get a good view of the river. Found without too much trouble when we moved something.
Diverted off the main road for this and soon spotted the crafty little cache. TFTC
This was a quick stop on my way north as I chased my son, who is unicycling his way towards Cape Reinga. TFTC.
No problem here thanks Grobyc !
Saw a really amazing roadside stall nearby with yummy looking kumara and tamarillos but we didn't have the correct change sadly .....

I was over in Dargaville today to visit the extend family. Stopped at the bottom of the road to check out the kumeras. I have the red variety at home already so I wanted the golden variety - none here today unfortunately. Lovely River views from the cache. I'm always amazed at the size of this River. TFTC
We arrived in Dargaville a bit earlier than expected. So I headed out on my own to find a few caches and see a bit of the countryside. A nice quick find on my way back to town after a visit to the "rock". TFTC
Gathering some lonely caches during our trip back to Auckland from Kai Iwi Lakes to help meet the requirements of our GIO Licence challenge. A quick park and grab for this, and some stunning views! Thanks for the hide!
