I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi Grobyc
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Agree with other logs. After spending a while searching, we couldn't find it. Plus the danger or the rusty metal in the undergrowth was unpleasant and an electric fence is near the tree too.
After 3 of us having a good look, didnt find and too dodgy with the long grass, hidden branches and rusty iron laying around.
Looked around but it is all a bit overgrown and there is sharp rusty tin roofing buried in the undergrowth. Might still be there but we couldn’t find it. Cool location though.
Very quiet morning, slightly foggy, tide out, nice quick find while waiting for the museum to open. TFTC
Found 8.45am
Stayed at Paparoa Motor Camp last night. Good room and facilities, and only $30 for the night.
Fish & Chips from the local takeaway, thought about going to the pub but the place was packed with rugby followers.
A few caches to collect today before heading back home. SLTFTC

After not beeing able to work today due to the rain we decided to go on a little drive to visit the Kauri Museum and to find a few caches in the surrounding area.
This is our last Cache of the day before heading home. I imagine it being a realy nice place but sadly as we found this Cache the rain clouds had followed us and it started again. Took the TB to continue its journey with us.

Nice spot beside a tree that begs to be climbed. There is an old tree hut here or rather the remnants of one which is quite rotten and no longer safe for climbing.
I'm from Switzerland and spend 4 months in New Zealand on vacation. Found this cache after a few minutes search, thanks.
Saw what we thought was the wharf, but surely not....oh but it was. Took in the view before setting about finding the cache. It was a bit unsteady under foot with the long grass and holes. Eventually spotted the cache and signed the log, thanks
Stopped in here to snag and tag this one. Quick find here. Cheers. We have just spent a couple of awesome hours at the museum.
Monday - New Years Eve - day seventeen - Whangarei - Dargarville - Whangarei today in Toby. Zara gets another rest. So lets go exploring!!
Its another epic 3+ week geocaching adventure with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and William to the Far North. What an amazing place to explore. Lots of walks, gravel roads and sand. Lots of amazing trees, beaches and interesting POIs. Lots of kilometers traveled by vehicle and foot. Vehicle breakdowns, making new friends and catching up with old friends and family. Snagged a couple of FTF's, lots of lonely caches and the odd event along the way. Lots of cache maintenance and replaced caches on this trip. But what an incredible adventure!!. Thanks to all the CO's who have made this trip so memorable..

Taybeedragon managed to park, just missing the big hole in the ground beside the gravel turny space. I told her about it so after finding the cache she promptly rolled into it and stalled Toby. Had a good laugh!
Day sixteen of an awesome, tiring, long, three week holiday geocaching with Taybeedragon in the upper north. Taybeedragon and I scooted over from Whangarei this morning, especially to visit the kauri museaum, then back to Dargavile for a sundown event and back back to Whangarei for bed and a sunrise event. The whole trip comprised of hours of walking on sand, sliding down sand dunes, hundreds of kilometres of unsealed roads, car breakdowns, paddling out to islands, lighthouses, dolphins, goats, events, FTFs, weird boulders. You name it, we saw it. Lots of bisons, lots of cache maintenance, lots of sunscreen. A month is enough. I am glad to be back home. Except that now I have to write up my trip. We averaged just 20 caches per day, but that is still a lot of logging!
Happy new Planetary Orbit from the Seagnoid!

TFTC, not a lot to see these days but appreciate the historical significance. Cache us in quite good condition.
Came down to the end of this road, FMZ is driving and we spotted a vehicle at the end of it, didn't see anyone canoodling so suspected they may be fishermen out for an early morning catch. Didn't let that bother us so me and Lostcourse jumped outta the car, I'm glad to be wearing gummies today, gotta keep the feet dry and warm... make it to the tree and started a search, LC tripped with the very uneven ground but I found the cache once I looked down, quite exposed but the contents OK. Got back to the car just before the fishermen, I suspect they were concerned seeing torches hanging around their vehicle.
It was a super early start this morning as I was picked up by FMZ, who was already in the company of Gorby and 404, for the purpose of a full day of caching around Nothland, focusing on the south west coast. It was still dark as we arrived at GZ. This cache wasn't far from the main drag so we determined to make the short detour here. We searched several spots with torch light before Gorby came up with the goods. I managed to step in a hole and scratch my calf during the search; no serious damage. Some early morning fishers appeared from the waters ledge, but we had things tucked back in place before then. I think they were rather surprised to find others out so early in the morning. Cheers for the cache placement!
What a lovely view. I know the cache page said "little" wharf but I was amazed at how tiny the wharf was. I found the cache on the wharf side of the tree and I replaced it back where I found it. The roadside didn't have enough cover so it's best where it is. I put an extra piece of paper in as the old one was running out of room. Thanks for bringing us to this great view
Up north with Jag50 and Aiden29. It was our last day staying in Pahi so we decided to focus on caches in the area before heading home. No wharf, but a quick easy find of the cache
Headed up North with Jag50 and Merlot58 to stay in Pahi for the long weekend. Last day on our holiday and we spent it collecting caches close by. Didn't see the wharf but found the cache no less.
Interesting chat with a resident regarding the old wharf. Old low piling can be seen at low tide...just! TFTC.
#9538. Interesting to explore the quiet little wharf in Matakohe. True to description, GZ was all quiet when we visited. Quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
We took the opportunity to stay a while longer and enjoyed the lunch break here.

A peaceful little spot, parked down the end and had my lunch. One again glad I have 4wd when it came to getting back up the hill. TFTC
Out for the afternoon to look for some caches SW of Whg. This was on the list to do and took me to a place I have never been before, despite living in Northland for over 50 years. An interesting adventure here as well today. Had driven right down to the wharf for a late lunch overlooking the harbour, but when I was ready to leave, the wet grass and slope had me stuck there. Had to call on the local farmers assistance with his small tractor and it turned out he was the "owner"of the little wharf and used to bring his 70 footer up here for maintenance. TFTC
Out n about exploring in the ute today, doing the big circuit from home in Whangarei to Dargaville to Tinopai to Matakohe to Pahi to home. Have certainly never been down this little road before so thanks for bringing us to this peaceful little spot. TFTC

I was supposed to have an easy time with this cache and did not have one. I was all over the place and misinterpretted some pretty basic information. That meant I was wandering about like an idiot for a good while before the penny dropped. Luckily, there were utterly no muggles about, so I had the place to myself for the whole time. I was talking to one of the locals who used to go to school in the area back in the 1930's. They were saying that the wharf here used to be about 400m long to reach into the deeper water. Anyway, TFTC and the great spot! "Walk about with Walker" TB was dropped in.
We are on our way from Auckland to the north. The landscape is very varied and the streets go up and down. Of course, we had to sign the one or the other cache, of course. A nice area.
Many thanks to the owner and many greetings from Germany the Moorhelmis

We chose this quiet little wharf for our lunch break and a short nap. A very good choice, we were all alone and found even a shaded spot.

Spent the night up above and a great visit to the museum, and then took the little side trip down here. Thanks for the cache.
