Since GZ has turned into a construction zone and there's no longer any cache to find, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, and assuming it still meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
GZ is now a construction site. Trees now stumps so cache may still be there, inaccessible, but for how much longer?
This cache is not accessible at the moment and may need a rather urgent visit to save the TB. Personal message sent to owner.
Put this on the back burner and the non smiley has nagged me for some time. Just happened to be passing today and couldn't resist. TFTCSL
Tagged along with bkj97 after querying the minor detour. Looks like the container has been emptied except for the temporary log. T4TCSL
Quick drive by on a quiet Saturday. Left TB and swag.

Tftc - a quick find on a reasonably long dog walk/caching expedition. I think this good-sized cache needs some swag, so I will try pop by soon with some shiny stuff.

Found it, easy find. I forgot a pen and there was no pen or pencil and only a price of paper for a log book. Maybe some maintenance needed? Tftc
Had my eye on this one for a little while, had some time to kill this morning so popped out and found it. Seems to be missing some things though, there was only a replacement log in the box TFTC!
Cache was there but empty. Looks like it may have been muggles durin recent landscapibg works or by some bright minds. We added apiece of paper as a new log. TFTC
Quick find before lectures, but managed to put my face through a spiderweb when reaching for it! Cache in good condition. TFTC
Out and about caching before the muggles leave home, managed to park right beside and soon had the cache in hand

Found this after my sightseeing at the university. Left two travel bugs. Thank you.

Couldn't help but thinking buzzing eyes were on me the whole time! Hopefully visiting on a Sunday reduced the chances of this Thanks!
Easy find. Same placement as the previous cache done today (100 aker wood) not far away. Odd. TFTC.
Nice easy find. Dropped off a couple of TBs. Hopefully Lemmy will appreciate the buzzing... TFTC
Found it! Thought I should log this one before leaving uni, wish there were more on campus. Well hidden but not to hard!
Dealing with the dot day. This is one that we've been awaiting reactivation, so pleased to see it back. Thanks. It was previously on our DNF list.
This time a straightforward find. All in order; log signed. Cache safely re-hidden.

Had to send in my senior Geogirl to do the honours as parking was all chocka block. Did a circuit of the carpark and she reappeared triumphant after signing the new logbook. Cheers R & Co
Finally got around to replacing it with same kind of container. Sorry it took so long. Will upgrade it to a different flavour in the not too distant future.
Apologies. Have been busy with renovations so forgot the renovations required on my cache. Should have it fixed by weeks end.
The wind must have got to it and the chemistry papers that were strewn around the GZ. Disabling until I can get a new one sorted. Apologies to Tararua Turtle and TBanks128.

Spent a good amount of time looking for this one with no luck. There is a lot of garbage in the area which leads me to believe it may no longer be there Looks like I'll try this next time I go back to NZ
CO may be heartened to discover that the encouragement given to hide the cache "super well" has been well and truly followed by previous finder(s); scouts? Either that or the drinkers that hang out here have mistaken the cache for something for which it is not intended.
Whatever, we didn't discover it on our visit here today. We truly did a thorough search.
Ah well, that happens.

118th find for The Great Scouts Australia Geocaching Competition 2013. Found with sunhalo, TFTC theelectricwiz.
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
Attended a conference for work at the University today, wasnt sure I would be able to find it with it being the beginning of term and lots of students around, but at the end of the day it was pretty quiet so made a quick find.

My 1,400th find and 4th in New Zealand! I moved here a week ago today to start a PhD at Victoria Uni and while walking around campus today I just had to snag this one. Approached from the wrong angle at first but found it quickly once I was in the right spot.
This kind of hide would never happen in Canada, where we have to account for up to 2 m of snow on the ground each winter. I'm finding it is allowing more variety of caches here and I'm enjoying that. TFTC.

So glad to finally get the smiley face. Have had numerous attempts at this one with most attempts getting cut short because of high muggle presence and the fix camera across the road. Read the cache again and found the new coordinates and this time searched an area I hadn't checked before. Found quickly as partly exposed. Covered up again when replaced but guess a good wind might expose it again. TNLNSL TFTC.
Thanks The Wandering Dragons. Will have to swing by and have a clean-up some time. It is unfortunate that they area seems to be a rubbish bin for drinking students.
Nice find today (Sunday) with Wandering Dragons. Not many people around. TFTC!
Cache #304
Cache #304
Cache #916 - Interesting location, and not what I was expecting. Also the amount of empty beer bottles around would seem to indicate that the area is used by others for non-geocaching purposes, and I wonder how long the cache will last there. Nice size container. Did with Violet Butterfly. Had to wait a while on both entry and exit as solitary muggles appeared from nowhere. Can't imagine even trying this on a day when school is in session. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Early morning visit while it was quiet. Found quickly and swapped a TB before heading off.
Nice easy find at 0500 in the morning, no buzzing from minds, the only possible buzzing in the air would be the snores from 'tired' students
Found a wrapped small Whittakers bar in GZ so took it out [I am sure there is something in the regs about no food to attract animals] and replaced it with Jeep 4x4 #2703 TB.
Figured it could be an appropriate TB with the tech schools around here

+ Jeep 4x4 #2703 TB
Did not consume the mini Whittakers that I removed, it went in the nearest bin

Last cache of the weekend. Chose this one with care. It had to be close enough that I could get back tot he railway station to catch the bus for home in time, one I hadn't done (obviously) and large enough to have a writing stick, because I think my pen fell out of my pocket on the train. Took TB.
On this cook hot Christmas day
did we climb the staircase way.
We brought a travel bug to here
and took another one, that's clear.
Our # 28 in NZ.
IN: TB
OUT: TB

I used to be one of the buzzing minds, but not for a while ! Didn't take too long to find, and we dropped off two trackables. TFTC.
Coordinates changed from:
S 41° 17.424 E 174° 46.044
Coordinates changed to:
S 41° 17.427 E 174° 46.040
Distance from original: 25.9 feet or 7.9 meters.
Visited the site again to try and capture some better coords. Have taken an average of mine and TallGuy789 (Cheers). Hope they are slightly more accurate.

Second attempt at this one. Made the find after fairly decent hunt. As others have mentioned, the coordinates are a bit off - have posted mine. Meet a fellow geocacher at GZ who had not had any luck finding it. Unfortunately he left before I found it so I couldn't offer a hint. TFTC.
Gps not good here. Eventually after rereading incl hint found cache. Uni chanfed a lot since i did papers here. Tftc
Walked in from city to find this cache but to no avail. I suspect coordinates are way out on this one. I was standing right in the middle of the green at 0 feet. Searched nearby shrubs and bushes for over half an hour until giving up. The hint was no help.
In town to find a cache and this one seemed to fit the bill quite nicely - a possibly intelligent one? GPS initially giving me a location which seemed a tad exposed - middle of the lawn, so guessed it probably wasn't going to be there. (A bright guess considering the estemed location.) After some time the GPS seemed to find itself and pointed me in a direction which seemed to have promise. Spotted the cache as it was partially exposed, pointed it out to the young one who retrieved it. Log book filled in and the youngest made some exchanges on the swag before we rehid it a bit better in the same place. I feel more enlightened now. TFTC
Easy find once GPS settled down - finding a parking spot was the hardest task! TFTC
TFTC. There must have been a few minds buzzing tonight as there were cars everywhere, all waiting to collect the minds and take them home to revive for more work tomorrow. Cache is in a nice wee spot which could be accessed without drawing attention to myself.
Returned without the GPS, but with a careful read of the description and some thinking. Found after a short (but slippery) hunt. TFTC.
No luck today. It definitely wasn't where my GPS was leading me - could have been an issue with the GPS but looking at google maps I suspect the co-ordinates may be a bit out. I'm round here a lot, though, so will have another try. TFTH.
Went to get this one between classes. Muggles started to come out of the nearby building to stare at me. Hope I didn't look too suspicious. Thanks for the cache.

Thanks robnzh. Yes. It was a little wet. Have replaced it with a rite in the rain book to see it goes.
Log book has been saturated, probably because the bag was damaged, partly due to the fact that the pencil sharpener sharing it was overloading it a bit. Had difficulty in opening the log and signing it was really problematic but managed to make enough of a mark to count as valid. New log book needed, though if the present one is left out to dry for some time there may be a vague chance of salvaging something of it!
At last!
Usual issues with GPS reception here, so gave up on my GPS and found the cache almost immediately by cacher's instinct- however once I was at GZ I did an averaged reading which said the coordinates were only .2 out on latitude and OK on longitude with an accuracy of 5 metres. Watch out if approaching from above by the fence, there is a big hole which I didn't see as I was watching the GPS at that stage, could have damaged my ankle but fortunately no harm done.
A couple of trackables visited.
TFTC.
I forgot to mention that I am a VUW graduate though from way back and not in science disciplines. As I am rather a fossil, at the time I was there the place was totally different and none of the buildings close to the GZ were even thought of!

I started the walk up to this site from Lambton Quay. I climbed plenty of stairs along the way. Thanks for a nicely hidden cache.
Not many muggles hanging round here this time of year. Left a pet rock - a hedgehog. TFTC
While staying at Vic for a week I had to look for this cache of course. Coords were pretty inaccurate (cf. Google Maps), but found it anyway. TFTC!

Our (Frysk blomke and superquant) fourth and last find in Wellington. We climbed a lot of stairs, but it was worth it. TFTC
Third time lucky this time. Daylight certainly helped and not so many people hanging about. TFTC.
Find #854. The second of seven for this overcast morning - no wind luckily. We decided to connect a string of caches into an oddly-shaped loop which we would follow.
We parked down on the lower road to the cache, and wandered on up across the freshly-cut grass to the cache. An easy find - no muggles around, but there was alot of buzzing. SL TFTC.

Slink1 and co came over from Australia to do some sightseeing and to cache. A trip to the burbs was in order. Slink1 reckons he'll be back for more. Thanks for the cache made our mark..
