Logs
Found quickly. Luckily had found a similar one earlier in the day so it was fresh in the mind
A very nice and easy find.Mr Riddell just about had his hand on it while Mrs Riddell was still grossly absorbed in reading the compelling recounts of all our most recent and most deadly bushfires which are all still raw in our memories, especially since the more recent, only 5 days ago, destroying half of the township of Promonal and a good 2 areas of the Grampians, yet again. All started by dry lightening and pushed along by destructive winds. Other areas of Victoria have also been affected hard by winds so destructive that it caused 6 transmission towers to buckle at the knees.TFTC
Looking around at the fire station and a nice young chap pulled up and asked if we had found it, obviously hes a cacher as well But it had moved and changed since he had last seen it, but we found it and it was our first one for the new year.He suggested doing one of his further up the road so we did that one as well.TFTCAnsMisty
After reading the previous log, Suscoe went to do a maintenance check today. The new fence has meant the cache needed to be shifted, We have replaced it less than 50 cms from its original position. Check the hint for more information.
I have noticed a new fence has been put up this may or may not obstruct you from getting the cache.
After a couple of abortive attempts at solving more complicated local puzzles, I’ve had to pull the pin and use one of the few remaining easier local trads to keep up the streak for today.
That bell was very tempting!
TFTC, Bushfire!

Found it just before dark when the firemen where just packing up. I was reluctant to go off the path which helped me. My stealth was peak, no firemen or muggles because I think the firemen know about the cache saw me. TFTC
Took my little sister who said it was hard and easy to find at the same time! TFTC

We ran into one of the firties how lives just down the road and explained to him what we were doing. ALl is well and he has no issues, but had seen folks checking the area out before.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today, for without those who like to hide geocaches, there would be nothing around for those who like to find geocaches.

Found it! Snooping around the CFA at night was spooky, and the nearby muggles were loud, but we found the cache and it was great, signed away, two in one night. Pika & Nini 15/6/23
Found it but didn’t pull it out..too many ants! Clever hide and glad I found it quick. Felt weird snooping around the CFA haha
Nice quick find for us today!

We called in here this afternoon after the recent did not find and the cache is still in place. Just a few snails keeping it company.
This seems strange to be logging a cache that I have visited so many times since placing a long time ago. 10th April 2010.
It has had its problems as most caches do, it has had strange things placed inside, and finally stolen maybe by someone who wanted the badges that were fastened to the container.
So this called for a new type of container and new locatin and a shift in to its new home.
Finally, I must thank my good friends the suscoe's for looking after this guy as it has got to the stage when I must pass it on and wish it good luck for the future. I know it is in good hands.

Well today has been a Bushfire day. Finding a cache hidden by Bushfire, finding a cache with Bushfire in it's name ( and while there meeting Bushfire himself), and now while finding this cache orginally placed by Bushfire and now adopted by Suscoe we were standing near a CFA truck with Laurie's Name on it!.
While I was getting the logbook out we were asked by a couple of CFA volunteers - found it ok? One turned out to be vicfire. Who then suggested another cache to find! Well the log had been signed and replaced and we were now off to find the recommended cache.

I'm out for an afternoon of exercise and caches. Most of my visits today are looking for the info required to kick off a puzzle or multi.
Like the nearby "Bushfire Alert", I've been here before, years ago. Unlike that other cache... bam! There it is.
Scoreboard: 3 finds, 2 DNFs, 6 non-find visits.
Thanks heaps, Bushfire for legendary cache-making and thanks heaps Suscoe for the adoption!

A little conspicuous here after hours, but reasonably quiet, so we searched and searched.and searched. Maybe the placement now is a little different than it used to be, given the new construction. Not sure. We feel a better hint may be not in the bell, several metres away from it and ignore the coordinates, lol. The bell is cool though. Tftc.
Have been past this so many times thinking I have to find that one day. Thankfully it was a reasonably quick find as I am always embarrassed about finding caches with a lot of people around. Lots of ants in this hiding spot. TFTC now back to pick my fish and chips up.
Almost gave up on this one. Found it just as we were starting to walk away. In good condition.
buhfuhguh and SteMicMitSar very kindly offered to take me around Geelong today with a Community Celebration Event in Ceres being the outing's main attraction.
Despite the event starting at 6pm, I had to wake up at 6am in order for us to fit in all of the adventures that this region had to provide!
An excellent time was had at each and every stop, and meeting other cachers throughout the day as people slowly trickled into the area was a really fun experience too.
SteMicMitSar had found this cache before and seemed to be absolutely certain it was in the bell.
buhfuhguh checked the bell while I checked the hint and it seems things have changed since that find 11 years, whether that be the cache's location or SteMicMitSar's memory!
I then hopped out of the car as well and focused on somewhere different which had the cache hidden within!
It took a bit of coaxing to retrieve but the logbook was signed shortly afterwards.
Thanks to Bushfire for placing this cache here!

Out and about in Geelong today collecting some caches before the celebration event being held later tonight. With Stemicmitsar and Brainiac03 we powered through collecting solved puzzles and other caches of interest through the day. Had another great day out chipping away at the Geelong area and can't wait to be brought back down this way shortly. Thanks for the cache and the great day out.

Really hard to find for me but that's okay. Thanks to Bushfire for the cache. I actually met Bushfire and he is really nice and shared his knowledge with me. Nice cache with interesting history and location.
A nice quick find at gz where it was nice and quiet today thankfully. Thanks for the cache Bushfire.
After completing a really difficult Multicache, Bushfire took some pity on us and gave us a nice simple one to find. When Mr Dromaniax was a 13-year-old, the Ash Wednesday fires roared through the Otways; Bushfire was out fighting those fires. We cannot begin to imagine how horrific that would have been. Whilst looking for this cache, we had the pleasure of being introduced to another Geelong cacher, vicfire. We truly have a great heritage of Geocachers in this city. The cache was in excellent condition. Thank you, Bushfire, for this cache.
We've just driven from Portland. Found a few there and on the road and this is the last one for the weekend while we're waiting for take away food
Thanks for placing this cache here bushfire and thanks for fire fighters everywhere and their heroic efforts.

Finding myself in Victoria once again to visit my daughter living locally. Had a little bit of time before heading to parkrun, so picked up this and a couple of other locals. I always find the information about the tragic and enormous fires we have here in Australia. An interesting and fun location that had me looking for a bit before finally locating. Thanks bushfire for one of your easier finds!
GREAT history and great to see the community and brigade getting behind it with there support. TFTC
As I have been locked out of Victoria for the last four weeks I could not check on this cache but on arriving home and checking on this guy the new construction has been completed so time to get this guy enabled for caches to find .
All good and the same container and log is in place so go for it.

I have removed the container because next week as a new building is going to be built beside the old so it will be out of bounds and I guess a temporory fence will be erected and will be there for an estimated fifty days.
Once completed I will replace the old with a completely new everything.

45 degrees Friday, and now 15 degrees on Sunday for the Christmas carols in Highton Park! TFTC
What else do you do when your early for an engagement party at the lawn bowls, go hunting. Quick walk across the road and wasn't long before we found what we were looking for. We will need to come back later to sign as we didnt have a pen. Thx for taking us here and all the truck were safe in their house.
I was a bit nervous because this one hadn't been found in the previous eight months but no drama here. I even met the CO in person tonight. 20 finds in 22 attempts on the day...
After a day of caching with Bushfire I decided to try and get some more caches before calling it a day. I rode up to highton to do the two traditional caches here and made my way to the last cache of the day. The cache was easy to find with the hint, a pretty widely used container. Nice to visit this place. TFTC Bushfire, TNLNSL
I remember these fires well. At the time I was farming near Swan Hill and had been working all day and had not heard about the fires. It was after dark when we stopped work and I began preparing dinner. It was then we smelled smoke. So dinner preparation abandoned as we jumped in the Ute with our firefighting equipment We drove around the district looking for a local blaze but luckily for us there wasn’t a fire. It was then we turned on the radio to discover the disaster a long way South. The wind change had brought the smoke a long long way and the smell was so strong it seemed as though the fire was very close. TFTC Bushfire
Found with GeoKid1 on an after school run. With a number of extended family involved with this brigade + Geokid’s Poppy being an incident controller for one of the main fires on Black Saturday this one was a must do for us. TFTC as always.
We were nearby, so headed around the corner to look. Couldn't find it so did a paf who just happens to be the CO. We were looking in the right place but just needed to look closer. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC Bushfire
Whilst out and about in highton, headed to find this, had a bit of an issue, with a quick call from the co had the cache in hand, found with thomo31. Tftc
This one proved to be quite tricky for me. I've had a bit of drought lately but only because I haven't been looking. Out this way with spare time, I thought I'd try and make the find. A couple appeared out from the bushes when I arrived and took off in what looked like a hire car. Interstate/international Geocachers maybe.? Anyway, I wasted a few minutes checking all over "behind" the bell. No go though. As I went back to the car to grab something I looked over at a car leaving. I wondered if it was Bushfire himself. I would find out at my next find.
I know the last finder, so I made a quick call. "It depends on your perspective", he said. Back to where I'd had only the briefest of looks and there it was. Hate it when that happens! TFTC

Autumncs and I drove by and the place was empty (you can never be sure!) So we jumped at the chance to grab this one. TFTC.
Great little cache. Hubby said let's do a geo on the way to the supermarket. Grad we did the detour
We are on an LGA adventure/surprise visit to Adelaide from Melbourne for my Aunty's 80th birthday... via Swan Hill and Loxton! We chose this route so that we could find caches in a few of the LGA areas we have missing in Victoria for the Vic Polygon LGA Challenge cache and then we could also do some of the Wandering Hero caches from Loxton to Adelaide. After a few days in Adelaide we headed down to Hayborough for a few days, that whole area is so beautiful! After a few days there it was time to head back to Melbourne albeit a convoluted way again to be able to get 4 more LGA areas! We stayed the night in Horsham and now were heading to Geelong via Skipton (LGA Polygon of Corangamite) and Cressy (LGA Polygon of Colac Otway)
After12 days on the road, it's off home we go today but not before finding some local caches first! This was next on the list.
What awful days those were and I hope we don't see anything like them again. I particularly remember Black Saturday. I had just had my hair cut and arrived home to see someone 's car had overheated out the front of our house. We brought them inside and gave them drinks etc as we waited for the RACV. The RACV finally arrived just as the wind change cane through and we were all rejoicing at the relatively cooler temps (it was still 30 deg) ... Little did we know the horror that was unfolding all around the state due to this exact same wind change . We actually didnt find out until the next morning - the damage horrific! Thanks Bushfire for all the firefighting you have done over the years - it was great to meet you at the next cache ... more about that in the next log!! Cache was an easy find.

Doctor Owl and sushilord are off on a long weekend trip to find some quality caches in Mexico. We suffered the laughs, joys and frustrations normally experienced on a caching trip and bonded as geobrother and geosister.
Dr Owl made an easy find while I was over thinking the hide.
Thanks for the cache Bushfire.

Day 2 of Owl and Sushilord's epic caching adventure and they had finally reached Geelong. After dinner there was a chance for more caches and they took it. This took a bit of searching in the day, but Owl eventually spotted it. Ash Wednesday was the reason she originally joined the Salvation Army Emergency Services. After a break because of children she came back for the Kersbrook fires. The work the CFS (South Australia) and CFA (Victoria) is incredible and she is in awe of the dedication and bravery of the volunteer firefighters.
TFTC! Had a fun afternoon caching in the area with Om7cacher and one of the geokids. This was a neat location. Greetings from Washington, DC, USA!
Nice to find this one with the owner. As a reminder the lid is missing mate! I placed it upside down so as long as the contents don't fall out, it wont fill with the stuff you put on fires.
Thanks to Bushfire and *clear skies* from TeamAstro. Cache the planet!

On a road trip today with sharkiefan to attempt to reach my big milestone.
Getting closer now. Also getting darker, so quickly signed and re-hid. SF already had this one.

This one was a great hide that left us scratching our heads for a while. GemChef searched beneath the bell (before reading the description) and I was almost lying on the ground to search through the bushes but it was ultimately Neski who decided to broaden his search and saved this one for us! TFTC
