Easy find thanks. Take your dog for a run on Horseshoe beach while you are nearby.
We weren't expecting to be in the area today, so we had made absolutely no preparations for caching. But here we were, and knowing there just HAD to be a cache or two here, we managed to use the not-so-smart-phone to get some coordinates. After taking a walk to the end and watching a ship come in, it was time to take a look at the filtration plant. TheMiniHunter made a quick find (as he usually does with this type of cache) while I read about the filter system. But then came the problem. Our only writing implement was a broken pencil, so we attempted to scratch our log into the log book. Deciding it was better not to damage the logbook, we didn't persist for too long. The cache had a few ants in it, but was otherwise in good condition. TNLN. Thanks Mix for the cache. If I ever get back here I'll sign the log properly.

Excellent spot for a cache, decent size too. Good end to a walk around the Mattara festival.
Couldn't spot it today, hadn't checked all the logs to see it was magnetic which would have narrowed the search a bit, but I certainly checked all the metal bits I could see. Oh well, you get those days. Thanks Mix.
easy find great day just happened to be during the mattara festival when we come in
The nearby amusement park is creepy. It's always there when we visit Newcastle. Lots of muggles about enjoying our fave beach, but that wasn't a problem for our last find of they day.

The last cache of the day's hunt for us. Nobby's is my favourite beach in Newcastle (I was spearfishing here about 150m offshore when the earthquake struck in 1989), so it's always good to come back.
Struggled around for the hide for a while, but eventually came up with the goods after rereading some of the past logs, which gave me a nice clue about what I was doing wrong.
(BTW: are the amusement rides a permanent fixture in the park next door? Every time we come to Newcastle, they're there.)

After one failed attempt (in the dark without a torch), Dimand and I were able to grab this one. Thanks!
Out for a pleasant stroll out to Nobby's and stopped by this interesting piece of work on my return. Found it at 1500hrs.

Super dooper strong magnets ! Tyggrific nearly tore a ligament or something pulling it off
Tftc,
Strong magnets those, thanks Wilko for the help I had geodog running everywhere, as I was trying to check under rocks.
This was so close to the only dog beach around, that geodog had fun for a few hours.
Once found, I tried to clear as many of the ants as possible but it was completely covered.
I decided not to leave any trackables, but just dipped them.

We found Refiltration (GC272Z2) on a Very Windy Bank Holiday Monday with Ruffas and Travelling Wilkos, our 11th of 46 finds and our 1303rd overall find. This cache is holding on tight but a quick find. TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache, Mix. Deputy D0g.
I was first onto the scent of a nearby cache but was then distracted by a phonecall while my accomplices made the cache discovery! An interesting spot! Thanks for showing it to us
09:00, 12 of 48 attempted on our Bank Holiday Newscatle Cachefest. Interesting, we could not figure out if it was a model or the real thing. Impressive none the less

Nice cache and jeez those magnets are powerful. Rare earth?? Hard-drive material?? [Anyway nice hide and watch your finger when you put it back. Found after first event with HAVOC]
Mmm, strong fingers are needed for this one indeed. After returning to this one after our previous CNF, today we walked straight to it in no time flat. And lillamum almost ended up laying flat out herself after not watching where she was going (talking the leg off a table) and turned around just in time to run, face first, into a street sign post. FUNNY AS, THE FUNNIEST THING EVER!! TFTC and the laugh.
Easy find once me and our little group of cache hunters figured out what the filtration unit was. TFTC.
We had to get manly Beautox of TEAM ROCKET to get this cache, it's supermagnetic! SL, avoided the ants living in the cache... High muggle area, but easy to find without being too obvious.
Parking was the biggest problem here today with plenty of people enjoying the beautiful day.
After looking too low I spotted where the cache would likely to be and then from there it was quick find. TFTC!

We checked in to our hotel and then came out to find a couple of caches before dinner.
I used to live in Newcastle so i'm really enjoying seeing where all the caches are.
Not many muggles around as it's raining, so this was a quick find and we're on our way to the next one.

2544 - Found during a Newcastle region visit with ACBC 66....
After checking in to the hotel we went out for a couple more before dinner. This one was luckily quite easy as there were next to no muggles around. A quick find.

Honestly didn't know this Eas here & we come here quite a bit! Thank you for the information. No muggles around surprisingly.
First hide for the afternoon - it was hidden very close to our picnic lunch. Found the cache pretty quickly once we got out of the pond . We were enjoying a perfect winter's day a perfect location. TFTC Mix. TN, left a purple snake (rubber of course)
A very educational stop for the youngest LegoLad and a nice quick find after a fantastic Newcastle breakwall walk. TNLN.
That was an easy find today while visiting Newcastle.
Thank you very much for this cache!

Found at 2.50pm GAFF1. After a lunch at the pavilion, we headed off for a walk to the end of the breakwall and stopped at the base to do this cache. Our GPS initially was taking us into the rocks, but when we had a look at the terrain rating, we decided that a much simpler and more obvious spot should be checked out and there it was. Quite a large container for such a hide, which we weren't expecting.
Thanks Mix - enjoyed reading about the filtration system.

We decided to do a bit of caching on a beautiful Mother's Day. We had a lovely wood fired pizza for lunch down at the wharf before heading on here to look for this cache. There were lots of family groups enjoying the great weather having picnics but fortunately not too close to GZ. Once we got close to GZ we spent a bit of time reading about this interesting structure, then we spent a huge amount of time trying to find the cache. We were determined to leave no stone unturned but we were nearly about to give up when BINGO there it was right under our noses! TNLNSL TFTC
Team Cash Man called into the Waterhole after a Friday night meal in Hamilton.
Plenty of hoodlums about tonight so Mum was in a panic.
A quick find and the girls were out of there. No sense of adventure.
I needed this one tonight so I can get 400 tomorrow.

Well done MIX another great location. I must say the the hanging power of the cache is awesome I think it will withstand any storm down that way. They are pretty busy just over a little way setting up for ANZAC day tomorrow, but took no notice of us locating the cache

I had a bit of time spare on the way to work this morning so headed into find this cache, there were plenty of muggles around with the council cleaning up the sand in the car park and the dune care workers getting themselves ready, so I had to have a good look at the area and the information board before grabbing the cache and heading elsewhere to sign the log then a quick rehide on the way back to the car.
Thanks for another *FTF* Mix.

Dropped in around lunchtime but wasn't the first to visit. When I first arrived I didn't know where to start but the hide came to hand fairly quickly. TFTC Mix. [571]

Just found the stashnote from this in my car, oops. Not sure when it fell out, but will drop it off before the weekend unless a finder has a spare.
