I am regretfully archiving this cache since unfortunately there has been no action to restore the cache or communication from the cache owner DevilDog3 requesting additional time, within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note, and it appears that the cache has been abandoned.

###Cache Owner Action Needed###
This cache has been brought to my attention as likely to be missing.
After a string of successful Finds, it has now had a string of DNFs. I agree that this certainly suggests that something has happened at the cache location which requires investigation by the CO.

The cache will be disabled and I'll check back in 4 weeks to see if either

- the CO has checked or rectified the apparent problem
- the CO has communicated in a Note log here, when action will be taken

**If the CO has not taken either of these actions, then we can only assume that the cache has been abandoned and, regrettably, it will be archived.**

The Geocaching Community needs to have a degree of certainty that a cache is out there to be found, and the CO has a responsibility to maintain their caches.

Thank you

No luck here today

01-Sep-20
This one has got the best of us, a few times now? We checked the other day and had no luck so thought we would have more time to have a good look but still no luck. Might be a while before we get to look again. It's been a good spot to have a cache to stretch the legs for a while and some interesting histories to check out.

We searched for this one again today after no luck the other day. We didn’t log the DNF the other day because we knew we would be back but once it beat us. So it’s a DNF for us. TFTC DevilDog3.

Hated missing this one a few days ago when I knew it had to be here. I checked other logs to see if I could find the answers to help find the location and they were right..... Trust GPS and not written clues. Part of the reason I also couldn't locate was because it had been pushed so far in I couldn't see it. Still it is a great hiding spot. A little plastic bag that I put a little green heart in. TFTC

Leaving WA, today we travelled from Kalgoorlie to Leonora.

Before we could leave though we decided to head out and find a cache to show we had been in Kalgoorlie. That's when Mr Felix noticed that there was a cache out there waiting for a FTF.

Still took us 30mins to finish packing and load the GPSr. Stopped here with the caravan on tow. No problems with this 'micro'.

Sixth day of our 'loop' to check out the wildflowers and pick up caches along the route. This took a whole lot longer that should have. Eventually spotted the container which had been pushed in further than necessary and jammed between pins. Took some effort to extract the tube to record our visit - we had to replace the full log sheet. Thanks DD3

After 3 DNF's, including one cacher with over 4000 finds we weren't hopeful here. But the GPS took us straight to GZ where the cache was quickly located.
Then the fun started!!!! How to get it out????? A piece of bent wire would have been handy but we didn't have that and had to resort to a variety of sticks.
Perseverance paid off though and we eventually had the container in hand.
Replaced it in a kinder manner so hopefully the next finder won't have the same trouble.
Thanks.

This trip through the Goldfields has been a while in the planning and the main mission was to collect caches in at least another 8 Local Government Areas to qualify for a challenge cache recently set up by megawatt60! I didn’t really have a plan on where I would be sleeping and was happy to throw the swag down once the daylight became in short supply. From Kalgoorlie I headed north as far as Leinster with a few deviations along the way. I then headed west through Mt Magnet and then meandered my way back towards Perth. I had GC and GCA caches lined up and tried to grab as many as I could while passing by. Cheers to all the CO’s for the hides and hopefully I can head back one day soon to clean up the caches I wasn’t able to find on this trip. TFTC

G’day there DevilDog3, I was in this area today and found your cache DD3-3 Menzies GC2731P. I added my name to the log book at 7:54 am on 3 April 2018. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!

A plan was hatched many moons ago to head up to Alice Springs for the Red Centre Experience, and finally after months of planning, here we are.

We stayed with family in Kalgoorlie for 3 nights and then planned on making it to Desert Surf's Up, however we fell short by about 90kms and bush camped along a track on the side of the GCR.

A pretty good day of caching really, had a DNF to start the day, but other than that, smilies all round.

I was a bit cautious finding this one as there were some workers nearby, but a short search had the container in hand nice and quickly.

TFTC DevilDog3.

DevilDog3, I found your cache DD3-3 Menzies on 6/4/17.

Parked up and followed the GPS which led me straight to the cache.
The cache looks like a small black pill bottle with a white cap.
The town of Menzies doesn't disappoint, a lovely small town with some very interesting cast iron statues and a closed down roadhouse covered in number plates from all over the world.

On our way to Alice Springs via the Great Central Road, and stopped here before turning off to Lake Ballard. Luckily Skippy 46 made the find, I must add that the cache is now a micro which would only hold about a teaspoon of pasta sauce. TFTC!

Heading north from Kalgoorlie on a camping trip to the Northern Goldfields and picked up a few GC's along the Goldfields Highway. Very hot and hordes of flies to keep me company, but I love this part of the country. Out of mobile and internet range, so very late in logging these finds, but better late than never. Nice easy find although the description of the contained needs to be changed, a bit hard to find a container holding a stubby holder when it's really a micro!. TNLNSL TFTC DD3

Overnighting at the smart campsite in Menzies and completed the self-guided historic tour of the town "Gubbee Minnie's Woogie "Our Way"". The latter are a series of stories each told by the local Aboriginal people about their experiences in trying to settle in the town. The interpretive installations are cleverly manufactured and very informative. TFTC

A couple of weeks ago, I was looking for something to do over the Australia Day weekend. A camping trip sprung to mind.

Checked with the geoson, he was keen, so a plan was hatched for a trip to Kalgoorlie and the northern goldfields.

The gear was sorted, the car was packed and away we went.

Day 3: Leonora, Menzies and Lake Ballard was the destination for today. We were up early knowing we had a fair bit of distance to cover.

A quick find here.

DevilDog3 - SVKR_WA found your cache DD3-3 Menzies on 28/1/17, 08:17. This is my find #1808 and find #5 today.

The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

Hi there DevilDog3.

We found your cache **"DD3-3 Menzies"** at 11:26:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 15647).

We are touring north of Kalgoorlie with some muggle friends - so we can only grab a cache or two when we can over the next few days.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area today. We found a wide variety of container types amongst our 3 caches (& 0 DNF's) today. Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.

It's a small tube, not a pasta sauce container.
The coords are spot on. The description isn't!!
The clue isn't a clue.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing..

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

I rolled up, rolled up, rolled up to GZ Big Grin
To see the amazing collection of rusty machinery,
Marvel at the scenery,
And be thrilled by how easy this cache was to find Big Grin

It seems to have undergone several transformations during its life [:o]
Yes !! See the amazing transforming cache container !!
Only a nickel a ride !!
And be amazed how a 'pasta sauce container' can change into a 'bison tube' and finally reappear as a small 'plastic tube thingy' Big Grin

The description is off !!
