Parrots koolookaburras and echidnas were seen as I walked through the gorge today thankfully no snakes..I almost made this cache much harder for myself thankfully I didn't skimmy down to the bottom..l finally managed to find the cache and sign and replace the cache b4 muggles arrived.
Relieved as having largely finished the steep and slightly sketchy descent down the nearby trail leading towards GZ, it was finally time to start searching for this cache. My coords led me to an area where I expected the cache to be, but after a few minutes of searching around the obvious locations, I could still not find it. After re-reading the cache description, I began expanding my search area to see if there were any other places this cache could be. Soon, about 13m away, I spotted something that was identical to the clue. I quickly made my way up to it and was relieved to see the cache sitting there, right where the clue said it would be. My coordinates being off definitely made this cache a bit more difficult than it should have been. The cache and its contents were all in good condition and, after signing my name in the logbook, I continued on my journey around this area. TFTC
It was a good day to head out into the bush for a decent bushwalk to clear the cobwebs of being inside for so much of the previous few weeks. We had done this walk early in our relationship and decided to head out for a wander. We were targeting three older caches and to take some photographs of the flora and fauna of the area.We took several hours to wander around the track and saw a wide variety of birds, saw evidence of wombats, several wallabies, kangaroos and an echidna. We found all three caches we were looking for, and they were all in good condition.Thank you, bogonghazy for this Traditional cache.
Another beautiful lookout. Time for a break with a little snack.
Thanks for the cache & greetings from Switzerland

Found it! The Walkabouters were keen to keep walking rather then look at the view so I had to be quick with my hunt. I spotted something out of place and there was the cache. I disturbed a rather large kangaroo who decided to hop out in front of the walking group which made for some extra excitement. TFTC SL. The cache is in good condition, nice and dry.
On a hike with Chucamuca1, 3rd find of the days and I think the first log in for this cache this year.
last time we were in this gorge, we avoided the popular bitswe neglected the gorge proper and instead visited the island, the pool, the old huton a busy day, this gorge gets the same foot traffic as bourke streetwe like searching away from the crowdstodaya dull winter daythe river level high enough and force strong enough to deter the more casual visitorwe took to the gorgewe can see why this gorge is a hotspota great little circuit loopa good path just wild enough to give a proper whiff of adventurewe cant blame the crowds for flocking herebutwe were glad to have the place to ourselves today
Out and about with Shufflehop and Muggle Husband, this cache was located with the help of the hint.
Out on my own today doing some maintenance on picking up a few here. This is such a lovely gorge and very surprised and delighted to see how many people are exploring it. Nice view and stopped to listen to the waters run. Nice easy find, cache in excellent condition. Thanks for the cache bogonghazy
Out with the CO for an amazing circuit of the gorge that included several rockclimbing maneuvers to try to keep our feet dry with the river so high. A great cache in a great area, thanks Phil
Yep gps is off on this one i think. Nothing to be done though, its in one of the lowest parts of the gorge! Had a great bit of exercise climbing the banks while gf found it not far off the path
I haven’t been to Werribee Gorge in a while and it’s interesting to see some of the changes. We only had time for one cache and this was the lucky one. A lovely area here and the cache was hidden in a perfect spot. Thanks bogonghazy
Tftc. Found on a late evening hike in the area. What a beautiful area, and the company was awesome. Only grabbed one smilie on this hike today. So have to come back for some more. The river was high, but we didn’t get wet feet.
Out and about for a hike on dusk with Shumba7. Plenty of water in the river which made the loop adventurous.
Having heard of people requiring assistance in this area before I can see why. We were well prepared but we passed plenty that weren’t.
TFTC.

We’ve had a lovely little four day holiday in West Melbourne, finding caches and visiting as many vegan restaurants as we possibly can. The whole trip was planned because we’ve never been to Werribee Gorge or Lerderderg (we’re from Leongatha) and they both looked like they offered fun bushwalking with plenty of caching opportunities.
Cache found quickly and in great condition! Thanks

Found easily. Really enjoying this walk with the family. Lots of people on the track getting out of the house.
First time trekking this area, what an amazing walk!! Perfect challenge and so proud of my walking companions for taking the challenge! :3
I feel like the luckiest girl in the world at the moment, I’m getting paid to hang out at Werribee Gorge! The downside is that I’ve had to walk past many great caches, as I don’t cache in the clock. After a big walk in, with a moderate amount of weeds killed on the way, we had a nice break up here. I saw something suspicious, so I had to grab it! Thanks for the beautiful view and awesome cache!
Mugglesssss. I have been outmuggled sooo badly today which has sucked into my cache time. A family I had spoken too earlier on the track decided that GZ for this cache would be perfect place for a picnic. They were sitting almost on top of it! Could see it poking it behind them. Gahhhh! Gave up waiting for them and went to grab some others then came and signed on way back to the car! Tftc
Cache was easily found.
A nice section of the river.
Really enjoying our walk today.

Day log:
Out today with 2beez to pick up the remaining unfound caches in this beautiful area. We parked at the bottom car park and completed the circuit anti-clockwise. The hike took us 5.5 hrs covering 11.9kms including lots of stopping for geos, lunch and enjoying the views. Such a lovely area so close to suburbia.
All caches were placed in well thought out locations and good sizes. Left swaps in all.
Thanks bogonghazy a nice spot.

Looking up to the great climb that awaits me I spent some time looking for this cache.. Found eventually though the coordinates are a good 20meters off.. Thanks for the cache. Now to head off before it gets dark!
After scouting out the wrong tree the size of the container was a big hint! Thanks!
After a nice couple of days in Ballarat the geowife and I decided we should stop and do some caching on he way home. Geowife picked the spot and off we went. Planning only to do about 2 hours of caching we finally emerged back at the top car park 5 and a half hours later. It was such a fantastic day and the gorge was absolutely beautiful we thought why not just keep going and in enjoy it. TFTC
Well I was looking in the completely wrong spot when the Geowife shout I found it

While out on mini adventure in the company of McLookers we stopped in to find this cache, it was a nice quick find and the perfect area for a break. Thanks bogonhazy for the cache.
Needed to stretch the legs so Werribee Gorge was a good option with 17 caches all turned into smileys.
After completing the nearby saddle cache and after good advice not to, i slipped my way down to the creek and thankfully found a dryish way across. Spotted the hide quickly but had to wait out the stream of muggles before signing the log, replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache bogonghazy

Found with The Tritonz today, The Tritonz was onto this one quickly. Thanks bogonghazy, we will be back for the remainder of the series.
TFTC. We enjoyed the circuit walk and finding the caches along the way. I have to admit that my phone thought the co-ords were 16m out! Thankfully the clue let me straight to it.
*1/11/16, Found @ 3:07 pm, Find # 5879.*
After leaving the gang which consisted of McLookers, The Tritonz, Gmj3191, Leafotwind at the multicache Lionhead Beach I then continued further into Werribee gorge and continued on the loop back to the car.
It was certainly a great walk around the area with lots to see and explore.
I head to the point first to have a look, then I went about finding the cache which did take me longer than it should have but in the end the cache was found and the log was signed.
**Thanks to bogonghazy for placing this cache.**

Found it. #5 cache for the day. Had descended down form "The acts of gord -The saddle" to get to this cache. Great to see a normal size cache. Thanks bogonghazy. TFTC
During an enjoyable outing with PacGirl doing a circuit of the Werribee Gorge we took some breaks along the way so that I could find a few caches.
We had previously done this circuit when I found several caches, including the Gallop cache, more than 3 years ago. Somehow I had not attempted this one back then. Today I was determined to find all the remaining caches in the area so sure enough this one was targetted.
After almost making this a T5 (hanging on a branch, just about sliding into the water), Pacgirl shouted out "What are you doing down there? I've found the cache up here, right where the hint says it is!"
Well, I was going to look there too after eliminating the waterways...
Thanks for the cache, bogonghazy - a FP from me for the adventure getting this classic cache.
Now I just need to find maccamob's Derby to complete the Trifecta!

Nice to revisit. If you're curious, our last entry is mostly blotches and failures in the notebook.
Reading our possibilities the bananas, although finding this treasure, could only dream of the treasures that lay across the river and up the hill.
With a wetsuit, the bananas would have jumped in, swam across and discovered the possibility of adventure.
But
Not today.

Tftc! Can't believe this hasn't been found in so long! Going to make transactions biscuits for sure. We took a snap of the recipe
My second visit to Werribee Gorge and this time to tackle the long circuit walk with perfect weather and plenty of caches scattered around ready to be found. Unfortunately I was supervising a group of school students on a training hike for an overseas trip so I only had limited opportunities to slip away to look for some of the caches on the circuit while others I had to stare forlornly at as we walked past. Oh well, another trip will have to be organised purely for caching this time! Stunning views around this trail from the various vantage points and a really enjoyable walk.
Took me a while to spot the hiding spot for this one and thought I was going to have to give up and head off after the disappearing group when I finally spotted it. Thanks for the cache bogonghazy.

Arrived at this cache as I continued my hike around the park. I had to widen my search area before I finally spotted this cache in the right tree. All is well, signed and replaced. After collecting my gear, walked down to the river to see how reasonable it was to cross to claim a trifecta. Yeahhh.. no! The river was full and despite the weather being gorgeous and definitely wouldn't suffer from hyperthermia, I still had quite a few hours of hiking ahead of me. Will try these two caches on the opposite side of the river perhaps from the other suggested route at some future time. TFTC
A hike with half of Clint&Abby. A lovely spot looking down on a large water hole and also a couple of eagles flying above us. The cache took a bit of time to locate due the GPS moving around but the clue certainly helped and looking a bit back up the hill it was easily spotted. TFTC

A full day of hiking and caching with Team Justice. This was our eleventh find for the day, and had us tricked for a bit. Fortunately Martin worked it out sans a stable GPS signal, and we were good to continue on. TFTC
Exploring Werribee Gorge with a couple of friends on a beautiful, but rather blustery, winter's day. Had loaded the GPS with a few caches in the hope I could find some on the way round. This wasn't the easiest to find as the GPS was spinning around a lot. As I wandered back to my friends I literally stumbled across the hide! Cache in good condition. TFTC!
Found on a lovely walk with family. Really enjoyed the scenery, the hike and the very creative caches. Cache in good condition, thanks!
The day after folk returned to work after an Australia Day weekend, I decided to use my extra day to explore the Gorge Circuit. Having done a walk to the Island earlier this year, it was time for main course.
Surprisingly spectacular! Sheer cliffs, meandering paths, wallabies and kangaroos, rapids and gentle billabongs - what's not to like?
This was one of the highlight caches of the walk - such a beautiful spot! One of the great reasons to cache off the beaten track. I also found this one difficult to locate, and in the end resorted to the hint and a rapid find thereafter. I'll have to rope a few friends down here in the future .
Grabbed the TB - thanks and cheers!

18 caches for the day. Nice walk a little rain to start the day and top 20 deg. Thanks for the cache. Down hill is over. Nice walk along the river now. Nice easy cache to find.

The GPSr certainly didn't like this little area this morning. Was having no luck, so armed with the clue I set about the process of elimination. Soon had the log in hand. TFTC bogonghazy.

A little further down the trail we were at the south western tip of our travels.
Just before starting the uphill trek.
We ventured down and took in the great views.
The cache was a quick find.

Earlier this year I tackled about half of this series, however we detoured off and tackled the Acts of Gord which finished up the day for us with brilliant climbs! Vowing to come back, today was the day to return with Buckleysbabe and family in tow. Weather was perfect for the walk, not too hot and not too cold - no rain, slightly overcast.
Thoroughly enjoyed the walk here - Baccus Marsh region is my favorite place for walks and for caches - always hide quality hides from the locals and in great locations. After doing today I will be recommending this circuit to others and will be coming back to do the circuit again (and to collect the Island as well!).
Thanks for a fantastic series of creative caches in a brilliant location.
Took in the view of the monster hill opposite we climbed last time we were here. Whew! Cache found and on our way.

A few months back I was here with Jacko83 and dbelco. We found quite a few caches but took a detour which significantly slowed us down. Today, Jacko83 and I returned (me with Geohubby and 2 rather reluctant Geoboys in tow) to find as many of the remaining caches as possible.
The weather was mild. We parked at the Quarry car park and headed round the track to see what we could see and convert those boxes to smileys.
Our fourteenth find of the day. Last time we were here we had been oh so close to this cache, but still unable to reach it. Today however, we approached from the right direction and didn't require a swim to get to GZ. None-the-less, it still took us a few minutes with the GPSrs jumping around before we spotted what we were after and were able to sign the log.
Left two TBs.
Thanks bogonghazy !

Quick find once we realised the GPS was having a heart attack in the gorge. 9th for the day
We have been eyeing off the caches around the Gorge track for a while being the Wiindows for Your Sole series and a few others along the tracks. Some clever and funny hides along the way. We went anti clockwise which looks a little easier on the map. We got to the Needles when the battery in the phone gave out which was surprising as it was full charge from being in the car and should last a lot longer. Perhaps time for a new battery. Great views and rock formations and a nice bit of bush with a nice water stream. A few roos where spotted. We will certainly be back to finish it off having had to walk out the last half cache blinded. Well done on a great series. TFTC
The GPSr was about 15m out when we spotted it with likely camo
