We are making our way to Dunedin to attend the mega event. We are stopping to pick up a few caches when there is ample parking. This is a really nice wee spot, we were a bit surprised that no one was here enjoying it.The cache was an instant find, I asked gk to go for it as these hides are often guarded by spiders.Thank you for showing us this spot, and for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.
Final for the day and just before rain started, Will be back to get more simlies in this area.
Easy find with the hint, this back road through to Kakanui and Oamaru is so nice highly recommended this route opposed to the highway
I have checked into my accommodation and still some daylight hours so going for a drive to find some caches. This was a quick find
Plenty of room to pull the campervan over just before gz.
Thanks for putting this here for us to find

Was going to post a dnf as the cupboard was bare, then kicked over some leaves to find it on the ground. Put it back.
On our way home from a big day of caching. Stopped here and found cache thanks drawp.
Driving from Dunedin to Christchurch today; I detoured this way to collect a cache or 2 placed in 3/2021 (a hole on my JASMER grid) and this cache was along the way.
Thanks for keeping this old cache going, drawp.

Doesn't look like a nice place for a picnic with recent flooding. Two wood pigeons scared the shit out of me from above.
Heading to Christchurch to pick up a campervan and head North. Found this one on the way.
After finding one up from here came back down to look for this one. Nice and easy wee find! TFTC
How do geocachers celebrate their 26th wedding anniversary? By geocaching, of course.
This is find number 2027!

Easy find. A slight detour around through Kakanui on our trip to Christchurch for our Aunts funeral.
Thanks on a trip with my sister NZ Bozzy to our auntie’s funeral in Christchurch- made a plan to grab some caches around here that we hadn’t found on previous trips

On a quest to complete the Hidden Creatures challenge so again off to Oamaru to find about 80 caches and this was one of them. I have driven past here a million times and today was the day to stop..TFTC
Day 3 of our 6-Day End of the Year caching trip to Dunedin. Surprisingly this was out first barrier cache of the day. A nice quick find. Thanks for the effort in placing and creating this cache for all of us to enjoy. Happy Caching
I had a goal to get to 2000 finds before the end of 2017 so a 2 day caching mission to Oamaru was in order. Took this road heading towards Kakanui and a quick find was made although it was quite a busy road today! TFTC
Along the coastal road to Oamaru we found several caches on short stops along the road.
This one was an easy find.

The (major road trip was about to begin) that was for the Oamaru Geofest trip in the company of HKCB and iammrwalker for a bit of a road trip across to the west coast, through Haast and in a roundabout way to Oamaru.
My trip stats were as follows: 617 caches (214 Puzzles), 3300kms, 500 litres of Petrol, 21 hours sleep, 100+hours caching time. THe weather was wonderful and apart from about a 6hour period on the sunday we had fine weather all the way and feel that we made a bit of a hole in the region.
Firstly thanks to all the CO's that put in the effort to to set up these caches and to all the CO's whose caches we did not find this trip, well we are already planning our next trip.
We worked hard at getting specific caches (especially the Geo Art around christchurch and hence our concentration on this area for the preliminary 24 hours. So after a couple of running repairs to the rental vehicle (fuses not working) we were off knowing that all ports could be charged and that sleep was for the weak.
Sorry about the copy and paste logs but that is what tends to happen with a number run of this size. What a day this was going to be and a chance to have a good look around the area. It was amazing to wake up after having afull nights sleep and not have that sand in the eyes feeling and sore back from sleeping in the back of a car. Starting the day off working our way along the coast, followed by a spot of inland caching before making it back to Oamaru for a bite to eat followed by a bit more caching.

Came down this way from the North for the Oamaru Geofest, and decided to add a few more days to the weekend trip and turn it into a bit of a Mega mission, starting 5pm on Wednesday 18th and finishing 3pm Monday 23rd! Teaming up with Cats&Dragons for the first 24 hours then with Iammrwalker joining the team for the remainder.
Just a few of the stats for the trip were:
- 700 caches found, including 270+ puzzles (thanks to the Christchurch Geoart)
- 3300 km's driven, using over 500L of fuel $$$
- Just over 20 hours of sleep (about 4 per day on average), and about 100 hours of caching time.
Certainly a Mega Trip!
Day 5: With a good nights sleep for the first time this trip, we were up early and out the door for another full days caching. The goal for today was to cache our way down to the Moeraki Boulders and then see where the next cache lead us. One thing we were looking out for today was caches which hadn't been found in a long time.
Sorry about the cut and past logs, but that seems to happen with cache runs of this size!

I found this Geocache on a Geocaching mega mission along with Cats&Dragons and HKCB. With only just over three and half thousand Geocache finds I was very much the over achiever in training. We were in the South Island to support the Oamaru Geofest event, hunt down some Jasmar and D/T harder to find Geocaches, lonely caches (those not found in more than 6 months), virtuals and try and meet some milestone numbers. We signed the logs HIC, an abbreviation of our respective Geocaching names, (H)KCB, (I)ammrwalker and (C)ats&dragons. A huge thanks to all the CO’s who placed and maintain the Geocaches we found.
I arrived in Christchurch late Thursday evening having left straight from work and was picked up by my intrepid companions in our four wheel drive rental to find they had already grabbed about 270 finds in the previous twenty four hours. I wonder if the rental company would have still let us have it had they known we would travel 3300km in it before returning it four days later? Our trip took us to Greymouth via Arthurs pass, Ngahere, down the west coast to Haast across to Hawea, Cromwell, Twizel, Aoraki Mt Cook, Tekapo, onto the east coast up to Oamaru and back up to Christchurch via Akaroa and countless diversions and small towns along the way. We slept in the car for the first two nights, grabbing some shut eye between cache finds, taking turns to drive. We rented a small place in Oamaru for the other two nights and appreciated a bed to sleep in and a hot shower. It was an amazing trip, in which I discovered the South Island has some of the most incredible scenery in the world.

My first DNF for the trip. GPS just wouldn't settle on anything under 7m. Hunted around. Very wet feet but no cache.

Bbear44 and I were spending a few days in Oamaru getting things organised for the geofest.
This is our second full day. We will be camping in Herbert during the geofest. We decided to drive and have a look and on the way look for a few more geocache.
It would have been a nice spot for a picnic.
Find out more about New Zealand's next big event [Oamaru Geofest](http://oamarugeofest2017.wixsite.com/geocachingevent) and come and join us.
Thanks. drawp for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find 5084 for me.

I noticed thios cache from the re-tyred cache and as it wasn't far away we headed off over to the other side of the road. Well this is a bit strange - for a variety of reasons I am very late in logging my finds. So I found this cache after the DNF logs and before the CO replaced the cache that he thought was missing. I found it in the third place I looked. So I think there are 2 caches in play here now. TFTC # 10092
Headed north and used this cache to insure we didn't miss turn to the beach road. It was a quick find. - Zeke & George of Hot Springs, Arkansas, USA

The box was on GL - we placed it back into a tree at the coords. The logbook is so wet, that the entry was nearly impossible.
Thanks for the Cache

Sat there and wondered how to get the cache...... someone had used it before and ....hey presto! It is in my hand. Cheers
The plums should have been ready about Xmas. Now that you brought me up this road, I will continue on the back road to Oamaru.
