We couldn't find it although we looked around the whole thing and knew about all hints. Nevertheless the park and the surrounding is beautiful. Please check if cache is still there.
This cache may have been muggled. Also, the cannons are to be removed in the next week or so for 6 months of restoration work, so it will most likely need to be moved.
Bah, spent ages here but just looking at other logs it seems it has been removed. Sorry about that. Thanks anyway for the interesting information about the tunnels and bringing us here to this pleasant park.
This one is HARD! Had 3 people searching and didn't find it. Will try again another day... I think the difficulty rating should be raised.
These two Canadians, along with our rellies from WA, Australia (Hazelhope) founf this cache amidst a large 'fair' celebration, with loads of muggles about. Had to display sincere interest in the entire 'monument'; while curious fair participants studied our endeavors. But, we believe we completed the exercise without undue scrutiny. Thanks for this terrific 'challenge'. PS Although the cache itself is very tiny, we are passing 9 separate 'visitor' travel bugs through the site, on their way to Canada next week.
tfth. Picked a bad day to look because there was some sort of fair celebration going on. But didn't have a choice as we were on a bus tour of your lovely country and had to get on It is desperate for more paper by the way.
Thanks to the hint an easy find. Well done!
The parc was especially nice today in preparation for the Lantern festival.

3567. A very nice hide. This is a lovely area and it was being well used while we were there - people sitting around eating their lunch and just lying out in the sun!
Thanks

Found it right away, my first one of its kind. TFTC it was good chance to see this park, and my first n.z cache
TFTC! My first in the Southern Hemisphere, found it with my buddy....fyrfytrdaughters
My first cache in NZ (for our honeymoon) - forgot to log until now. Quite quiet in the area. TFTC
A nice find during our sightseeing tour through Auckland. T4TC and greetings from Switzerland!
Nice little cache, not sure why i missed this one my first visit.. Ah well, Got it now!... TFTC
Great little cache - first micro I've seen of this type. Log needs replacing.
As I stayed in a Hotel in Auckland closeby, I used my last day in NewZealand
to search some caches in this city to come around a bit. Without the hints it
was quite a challenge but finally I found it. Nice location and a really cool hiding
place. The logbook is quite full - maybe one should replace it.

Really overthought this one... should have paid attention to the logs...
The cache is in fact somewhat obvious (without being obvious) and symmetry (or lack thereof) does help.
As for the hint - it would perhaps apply only if you were a Na'vi (not wure of spelling) or maybe it's meant in the same way that your eyes are located "just above" your waist....
Log book full - will log a "needs maintenance" as well
BUT ... after all that - great hide - well made container - awesome - probably the best I've seen of this type!

Garmin was taking a long time to settle so, of course, I was looking in the wrong place! Once directed correctly was an easy find, thanks, great camo but I've seen a number like this before so not completely phased. Managed to find square mm or so to record my visit, well past the 'needs mainteance' stage.
Logging Scenic Traveller TB in & out.
TFTC - but, please, a new log soon.

Appreciate the effort put into this one! Thanks for a good hide. My favourite so far.
Log book (and extra bit of paper) completely full.
Please check cache location as it does not agree with hints (cache creep)

During an awsome 4-week hiking trip into the Garden of Eden we stumbled into this one! Thanks for this cache, greetz from NL , Ro & Jet
Tried twice, on second try found something that looked like it didn't belong, but couldn't move it, so probably was mistaken.
This is a great park, with "the best tree ever" (my son) just up the hill. Wouldn't it be great if the tunnels were there to explore? Nice hide - I haven't met one of these before, maybe because I avoid micros but this one wasn't too hard. TFTC
Nice hide and very cool container. Some amazing trees in the vicinity. We'd mis-read the parking signs and thought we had 90 mins free parking and it was only when we got back to the car, with the parking warden only two cars away, that we realised it was pay and display maximum 90 mins! Needless to say we didn't waste a second getting away!
Another casual lie in the grass to find cache. It was quite out in the open so moved closer to the edge on replacement.
At our visit of Auckland we found this cache at the nice location. Very good idea. We liked it. TFTC!
It was a quick find considering that we already knew that this existed and we knew what to look for ...
TFTC, i love this kind of caches

Tried a couple months ago but so much party debris including muggles with hangovers we probably didn't log our search. This morning was much more tranquil. Very cool hide and a winner of a spot. NINO TFTC
Finally! Even at night this place is full of muggles. Was able to retrieve it behind a sleeping homeless person. The container is something real special but the placement is a little bit strange. I put it back at the very same position but maybe the owner wants to have a look?! TFTC

#267: Good hide. Log is completely full, so I found a small corner to scribble in.

A very interesting bit of history and a very impressive container and hide. Thanks for the work this must have taken. Great cache.
Came here about 6 weeks ago while in Auckland but it was at night and there were some dodgy onlookers so I didn't search for too long. Went for an early morning walk today and found it in a couple of minutes. Signed log, TFTC!
Nice cache. Got caught out in a late afternoon shower and used big tree for shelter. TFTC
Managed to find this quite quickly despite there being a lot of workmen around GZ due to them re-tarmacking the paths. Nice camo TFTC
[blue]Found today while sightseeing/caching in Auckland.
Great cache, took me longer than it should especially as I have seen these before! TFTC.

SL TFTC Doing some caching while spending the week in Auckland. Enjoyed the cache.
Well engineered! Found easily despite muggles everywhere so inspected the other one too! Fascinating story. TFTC Kiwigirls
A brisk walk up the hill to a lovely spot on this fine, sunny spring morning. A not so brisk search followed. Finally after pretty much yanking at every thing that stuck out, drilled into or painted on this thing, we had the cache. Good hide, it is so obvious but its not..arrgh.
Lay on the grass and signed the log and let a few sunrays drift across my face, then it was up and at 'em as we had a few more cache to find before our midday flight home.
Thanks kiwigirl8 for an outstanding history lesson and great hide.

Gorgeous day and lots of muggless out but we quietly searched every place that seemed likely by the time we called off the search. Now that we've read more of the logs we'll try again using the assymmetry hunch and abandoning all the double and triple meanings Mrs J was assigning the hints. Love the park, sure is a shame about the rubbish
Reading the last logs in my gps, we hoped that it would rain a sec because every place was full of people, and... it did everyone ran away. We took a shelter under a tree and when it almost stopped to took a walk. Looking for something else than steel we founded the cache

But found the zone. Muggles eating lunch right there..... Do you know what's there sweet diners?
When we came to gz with geowife there was a young couple stairing each other at the bench. Probably we disturbed them because they soon went away and we could then do our searching. After reading all the hints we finally realized what to search and quickly found the container. When returning the cache we made some photo shooting sessions to bluff bypassers. TFTC
Very nice hide on a lovely place. I would like to see the tunnels.
The logging was difficult because of the muggels. Fortunately I
got company to help.

During our holiday in New Zealand we have managed to find one cache and a very pretty one.
I liked it a lot and I am happy to have at least one found on the other side of the world.

This was the last of 11 cache I found on my business trip to Auckland
Located after some search, but have to site and wait for 15 minute to place it again, a young couple was taking photo of each other leaning them self on the spot.
Thank you to all the cache owner in Auckland, as a tourist you shown me places I would not have discover otherwise

Came here late at night whilst staying in Auckland expecting to have no problems. However there was a vociferous individual in an indeterminate state of drunkenness/stonedness sitting on a nearby seat watching me and I didn't feel comfortable searching for more than a short time. As they say, "I will be back".
Out with KiwiEricTOO on our way to the Ten Ten Ten Ten event.
Quickly spotted by KiwiEricTOO.

FINALLY made it to the park at a time when there were no muggles about! very cool hide, thanks heaps =D
Tried for this one on friday, in the rain, but a council worker was cleaning GZ. I had a gentle look around to aid a future visit. This morning I decided to try again before work. But with such a great day in front of us the park was already filling with muggles. Luckily there were few near GZ and they were completly uninterested in me, my breakfast or my interest in history. My earlier visit meant I soon had the cache in hand. I was wondering when I would come across one of these. An excellent choice too! The closest muggles soon departed so the rehide was a brezze.
FlyingPigSquadron has landed!
Extremely difficult due to the large numbers of young people around the area TFTC&H

My only find on my short monring walk. Interesting history that I wasn't aware of, thanks. I made hard work of the find but eventually spotted the "not so obvious". Good camo. TFTC.
I am not sure if I agree with the hint but then again I may be short compared with some.
Really glad that this cahce was there becuase I am not sure I would have come by this park today. Too rainy and cold for me but a brief respite in the middle of the day.
Amazing history and a good place to watch folks pass by.

I like caches that are 'out in the open'. Great camo! I noticed it straight away though.

For some reason I had got it into my head that it was something else. As soon as I opened my mind, my eyes saw the booty. Nice hide and container well camoed
Found this morning by the whole clan after a couple of unsuccessful attempts yesterday, partly because of the sneaky hide, but mainly due to the fairly large groups of young locals breaking the "24/7 outdoor liquor ban" nearby. A nice spot nevertheless, intersting history and lovely views. TFTC - Penguins
