I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.

Hi Lehcier

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.

Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

We downed tools and decided a drive in the country was a good idea, so after picking up the Wyndham cemetery we got a little side tracked ' well a lot side tracked really.
A left turn in Wyndham and we ended up in the Catlins and just kept going .
Tahakopa was the next dot on the radar.
So we pick up this one.
Yes if you where to rush in you would end up a little wet

Thanks for the hide

A challenge for myself to get to 3000 finds before the end of the year and being about 150 away I had a lot to find. This trip down here was to get as many as I can and to get the second last cache I need for the old school challenge. Nice and easy find TFTC

29-Apr-18
Found the original cache down the hill slightly, probably only a metre away from where it should have been, still in primo condition. Re-hid where it should have been. Also found the throw down and removed it.

Takacache Two? Two cache here, original still in good order, removed the throw down, and may place somewhere again one day soon. Thanks for the journey.

Sightseeing your beautiful area via the web. ThanX for sharing......

15-Oct-17
Found the little broadleaf mentioned by the last cacher but despite a really goo grope around absolutely no sign or feel of cache.

07-May-17
Providence lead us to the cache as the bridge closure at Maclennan Bridge still inhibits direct access to the main rd caches and while there is a [window](http://www.cluthadc.govt.nz/your-services/roadbridgewaternotices/Pages/default.aspx#link3) of only a weekend where both bridges will be accessible at the same time, the Takahopa valley bridge will only be open up to the 15 May 2017 when the Maclennan Bridge finally completes it's repairs on the 12 May 2017. The only victims in this inconvenience will be Deb's Puaho View cache due to the signposted detour starting before the Papatowai bridge unless you're driving the back road from Purakanui falls and miss logging Kahuika Memorial cache due to the calculation of back-tracking and maybe these gems on the back road.
With that little bit of nonsense shared, this was also the route we were going to take back home to some remote caches that don't see many visitors off the tourist roads due the tricky long gravel road through recent logging activity and back country farm runs. Relatively straight road but a slog at 60-odd Km/hr due to recent rain and gravel spreading, thankfully at night the GZ's loom into view very easily (yuss!).
The MKII cache was an easy find in the dark though once in hand, the top was not screwed on well but the contents were unmuggled and in good condition. We SL and rearranged the mismanaged bags and screwed the top on properly and rehid behind the wee broadleaf taking hold in the hide (not near the chasm). Surprised the wee township had lightposts but they must be benefiting from the additional traffic on the roads being monitored for extra maintenance. TFTC

Found on an accidental detour. Thanks!

On a family touring holiday from the UK with Higster. Our drive today took us on the scenic highway from Invercargill to Dunedin. Unfortunately we were forced to take a diversion which took us right past this cache so we just had to stop and grab it. A nice quick find. TFTC

now in Dunedin coming from the north ...
This was a not a beautiful, sunny day ... no sunny minutes I strolled over to ground zero and searched for a short time and found the container. The coords are right on the mark.
The cache is in good condition and the log paper is nice and dry. I took nothing, left nothing, and signed the log paper.
I carefully replaced the cache right back where we found it.

*thanks to Lehcier for your cache*

During our holiday in New Zealand we also visited Dunedin and the Catlins. Dunedin is the Mekka for Geocachers. What a lot of caches are here. Our main goal are some caches from 2000 we found tree of them. The Catlins is beautifull we enjoyed it very much. Our next stop is Invercargill the last stop before Te Aanau.

Lehcier hartelijk dank voor het leggen en onderhouden van deze cache.

Groetjes,

Because the bridge at Maclennan was closed the detour led us to this cache in lovely Tahakopa, which we would have missed on our holiday trip.

07-Feb-17
We crossed the railway terminus at Tahakopa - and stopped by the river. A horrendous cold wind but luckily a nice quick find in an impressive hide object.

27-Dec-16
Quick drive by. The wind was so strong that I approached the GZ on hands and knees rather than risk being blown into the river. TFTC

24-Jun-16
*Shone the torch for a good looksy, no cache. Popped in mint tin in camo baggy strung up and tucked away near the centre. There for as long as it lasts.*

03 Jun 16 Would've been headed here for the cache anyway even if the bridge had still been out and might miss a northern box; but bridge is fixed now and all things were go today for the long QEII weekend. Stopped at the GZ in the rain-shadow after horizontal all-day rain. Cache was drawn out from cavernous hide and dealt to. In good condition, added some swaps and changed the bag. Sharpened the pencil and added a sharpener. Placed back less visible. TFTC

Came down to Dunedin for a weekend to attend mums event, and have a general good ol' family catch up time!

Last day down here, and we headed off early in the hours of the morning to collect a whole bunch of caches that were considered lonely for the next stage of the licence challenges up in Auckland on Rangitoto. Hadn't been asleep since the event that started at 1.59AM, and was pretty caffinated up!!!

A pretty easy quick find after mum overlooked it on a first glance Razz

Found on weekend megacaching mission in the Catlins. Nice drive. We couldn't reach the cache (the last person must have had really long arms) but eventually got it out with a stick. However, we couldn't get it back exactly where we had found it (again the arms weren't long enough). TFTC

Our second FTF for the day!!! We quickly spotted the likely hiding place but we were very careful with our junior cacher as the river was right beside us and well up in flood. A quick look and the cache was in hand. We have never travelled these roads before and love the fact that caching gets us into the lesser travelled spots of NZ. Picked up TB to help it on it's travels, TFTC [^]
