On the most beautiful day that we have had in a while the family went caching along the back roads of two wells to do the APM series.
A great series with different sized caches and plenty of space between each
Thank you for the cache Ciril, this was number 4 for the day.

A tractor has been through and destroyed the cache completely, i found the log book squished into the dirt. I collected the log book and have it in my possession for the CO.
The trees's that were here have been ripped up too.

Easy find today. I don't understand how there were 4 DNF's on this as the container was in fairly plain site. Didn't notice any ants, although Meggs had unknowingly picked up a few hitchhikers who revealed themselves after we had driven off...no bite though! TFTC
DNF ants scared us and stopped looking, will come back someday with renewed spirit.
#5816 Found amidst the APM Series whilst we were on our last caching run for the SA Mega. There were a stack of greenhouses across the road - no doubt a huge company involved in it. The container was a little hard to spot but once we took the extra step it became quite obvious. Our thanks to Ciril for the cache. Cheers [^]
Searched high and low with 2 sets of eyes for this one. Spent quite sometime looking but unfortunately we had to call it quits and walk away empty handed on this. Don't like DNF's on epic adventures however its all part of the fun
Nope! No joy for us here We searched and searched and searched but had to call the DNF as we had the rest of the nearby power trail to complete. Interesting structures nearby though! Thanks anyway, Ciril
We now slowly make our way homeward bounds grabbing as many as we can on the way, this has been a good day with quite a few caches found : ) TFTC
What is going on with these trackables??? Says there is one in here but it isn't. TNLN TFTC SL
It took a few minutes to find it but I did pick up some other hitchhikers... ANTS! They attacked me. Ouch Ouch Ouch. [xx(]
Thanks Ciril for the cache

Mogni and I decided to get the New Year off to a good start with a power trail. The APM series was the goal. But as usual we had to get there first! After spending far too long in Two Wells for 2 DNF's it was time to get caching.
Left the pwer trail to grab this! Wrong. It looks like the locals idea of keeping the roadside vegitation down is to bulldoze it into a pile right on top of GZ. There was one bush left visible (mostly) but several bulldozed over. We checked the one visible to be attacked by ants that were covering it. Have to wait and see if it is still there!

As we finish a loop of the APM series two of our four members hadn't done this one.
Dr Owl & I walked through the wet grass & soursobs as Earthlight & Locus Cache had already been here and done that.
There was an unsureness as to where the cache was originally or seen last.
But we went with Locus Cache's clue 'It's in the green tree'
As Dr Owl went one way I went the other,
if the grass was any higher I don't think I would of found it.
Cheers Ciril for an interesting cache landmark.

Out on a Girls’ Afternoon Out Caching with Locuscache, Earthlight and Clare007, the girls decided to make some diversions from the Prime Ministers series for some other caches. Owl had a tour through the structure last year and found it very interesting. No colonies today, just lots of wet soursobs, but Clare007 made the find with relative ease.
Was doing the APM trail today and made a small diversion to grab this one while in the area, had a good day out TFTC
Mr M was just contemplating breakfast when Mrs M came out of the bedroom and suggested that we do the Australian Prime Minister Series. Well if we are going to go all that way then why not plan out the full day. Mr M quickly came up with a plan to do 81 caches, bolted down breakfast and we were off. After a terrific day full of fun, we returned home with 77.
What an interesting spot. Whatever is grown here must be popular. TFTC Ciril.

This cache was found on Day One of our four Day Adelaide Caching Tour, with TriBre, Fairybum, Mastamak, KidzJCT and Running as Teams BosNewellgus and Gummy Dales. Team BosNewellgus (Mastamak and TriBre) had arrived on the morning flight in from Brisbane and had a full day of sunlight before Team Gummy Dales arrived.
Having stopped and refueled after our flight from Brisbane (I slept as much as I could on the flight as we had been up till passed midnight with a first to find hunt before our 6am flight!) Even in our tried state, there was caches to be found and we had the daylight to do it! We started with the Premiers of SA, then on to It's a small world and followed by the Australian Prime Ministers Series. There was a few odd ones on the way...Even a STF.
With the large volume of finds I have written a generic log. I would like to thank the CO's for creating a Great time out and I can assure you fun was had by all. I believe we will be planning another trip to SA....
This was the 149th find of 154 finds for the day in SA, with no DNF's for the day Fantastic! We also had a midnight First to Find grab in Queensland before our Trip.

Found as part of the record run to SA by The Demolition Crew (TDC). While, I am not a member of the TDC, I was fortunate enough to be caching with Blacklegend, Quasar3671, Trailrunning and Rebel Acts on what was for me, a huge adventure.
As I live with Blacklegend, it was fantastic when he said "Do you want to come to South Australia on a huge caching trip". I jumped at the chance, as I'd never been to S.A. or Adelaide, and it was a fantastic feeling to know I was going to be part of something big, and I was.
To be part of the Australian 24 hour record, at such an early stage in my caching career, so to speak, and part of so many other finds, was experience building beyond anything I could have hoped for.
****************
After the huge day we had Tuesday, some might think that we would rest up on Wednesday. However, there was no rest, and we were at it again, early. We targeted and completed the APM, PSA, 50, 60 and 40 series. There were other caches we found as well during another big day. In the end, I was glad to be able to see Adelaide and find a few caches there as well. Being the junior member on the team, it was fantastic to see how the others planned this, and the final result, being over 1000 caches in 48 hours.
****************
Due to the extremely high number of finds for the trip, and on Blacklegend's advice and with his assistance, I have also gone with the generic logs. As the others have stated, it in no way takes away from the fantastic and enjoyable hides we found on the trip. As Blacklegend and the other have said, my sincere thanks to all cache owners who placed and maintain their caches, and made this trip possible for our group. TFTC, memories and the experience.

This cache was found during The Demolition Crew with Ponty95 24 hour and 1000 caches in 48 hours record breaking challenge caching run in South Australia.
I've been on quite a few caching road trips during my time as a cacher and this one was one of the best. The idea was to see how many caches we could find in 24 hours, with the goals being to break the Australian 24 hour caching record, and then continue on the next day to see if we could eventually find a total of 1000 caches or more in the 48 hours. Needless to say we did manage to fulfill both goals.
Not only does SA have some lovely contryside and Adelaide itself is famous for its churches, SA is also known for its numerous, extensive and well laid out cache 'powertrails'. The OZ Mega, OZ Signal and the Wandering Heros series of caches in particular are the largest and just a few of the many that can be tackled. With this is mind, TDC started planning the 24 hour challenge caching run back in late 2012, and over a period of many, many months we laid out careful plans on how we were going to break the Australian 24 hour caching record, as well as find as many caches as possible while on the road.
The intricate attention to detail proved to be esssential to us completing our goals. With routes planned, essential supplies loaded (especially museli bars, water and energy drinks) and every cache detail documented, we headed off on the 6th to begin our journey. By the end we had accomplished what we had set out to do, smashing the 24 hour record and finding over 1000 caches in the 48 hours. We had an absolute ball and needless to say were knackered by the end but the final result was worth every hours lack of sleep.
Apart from finding many 'stand alone' caches we did manage to complete the OZ Mega, Oz Signal, Wandering Heros, TDF, APM and PSA series, the 40, 50 and 60 series of caches as well as a number of Adelaide puzzle caches and a few Melbourne - Adelaide multi caches.
Due to the number of cache finds and the resulting number of logs to write, I am reluctantly using a generic log to log each cache. The same goes for my fellow TDC cachers and Ponty95, full appreciation goes out to each of the CO's who placed caches that we found, and without your caches our fantastic caching experience would not have come to fruition.
Thanks, Quasar3671.

When the Wandering Series was first published it had been on the agenda of The Demolition Crew, however we were not able to arrange a time when all of us could go over. Fortuitously as time went by, more trails were published. Upon looking more closely at South Australia recently, there were many more power trails than we realised, and a plan was hatched to go over and grab as many caches as we could. We were all finally able to arrange a mutual time during the Easter school holidays, so the planning stages began.
Given the limited amount of time available to us, and so many caches to grab, we realised that a huge effort was going to be needed to grab them all. Rebel Acts being known for his record breaking 24 hour runs suggested that we try a 24 hour run of our own. Now there was a thought, a challenge in fact we readily accepted. A bit more planning (a lot more actually) and a route was chosen and run sheets drawn up.
With all the puzzles solved, and most of the multi's these caches were reduced to traditionals for the run day. With cars packed, stamps made, and spirits high we made our way to South Australia to find some plastic.
Wednesday might have been a day of rest, but when you plan to get 1,000 caches in two day, there is little rest. Today the 50, 60, 40, PSA and APM series were collected before starting to head back to Victoria. The highlight of the day was collecting two 5/5 caches in one day, and completing the P81 challenge by collecting a 5/4.5 cache.
While I am using a generic log, it does not detract my appreciation of all the CO's who have put the time into placing and maintaining these caches. To each and every one of you, I thank you for being part of what has been the best cache road trip yet. Thank you!

The cache was found as part of A massive cache run to South Australia with TDC Members Trailrunning, Quasar3671 and Blacklegend and a ring in Ponty95. It had taken us time to get this all together, finally a date was set and planning was started, I learnt one thing from my late mate dak's Emu Mob AKA Dave Kruger "Proper Planning prevents piss Poor Performance" he always said. Trailrunning was our master planner on this trip. I did this as part of a team but I also did it as a tribute to dak. having set the Australian Record twice before the question was, does the Rebel still have what it takes, I think the answer for that was yes. The challenge had been set down on FB "could the TDC find over 500 in a day, well we took up the challenge and headed to the power trail capital of Australia.

Found as part of the Demolition Crew record run to South Australia with fellow TDC members Quasar3671, Trailrunning, Rebel Acts and a guest on the trip, Poynts95.
The trip was a fair while in the making, and many aspects had to align to make it happen, including all of us getting the time to go. However, the "stars aligned" so to speak for us, and the trip was on. A date was set and much planning engaged, and when I say much, I mean a very large amount. We had an old saying where I used to work, and that was "Failing to be prepared, is being prepared to fail", so, we prepared, and prepared and prepared.
With a challenge set, being, could The Demolition Crew find over 500 caches in 24 hours, we headed forth to South Australia, the magical land of power trails, and over the duration of the trip, found in excess of 1250 caches, and indeed, easily beat the goal on our record day. Importantly too, we had a great time together.

While you might think after the huge day on Tuesday, that Wednesday we might rest up, but oh no, again we headed out early after getting some sleep under the belts. We completed the APM, PSA, 50, 60, 40 series and a stack of other caches here and there. The other caches included two 5/5's and some completed there P81 challenge on a very nice conclusion to a 5/4.5 cache. Another great day, and we did get 1000 in 48 hours.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Due to the extremely high number of finds for the trip, I am opting for a generic log, which I never normally do, but as the others have stated, it in no way detracts from the high quality of hides we found on the trip. My sincere thanks to all cache owners who placed and maintain their caches, and made this trip possible for our group. You have all been part of the best caching road trip we have yet made. Was a great morning with some nice cloud cover but it got a little warm in the arvo.
BE VERY CAREFUL AT THIS LOCATION IN THIS WEATHER.... A SNAKE WAS SPOTTED BUY MYSELF ONLY METERS FROM THE CACHE... I HAVE MOVED IT JUST SLIGHTLY IN THE OPEN SO NO ONE IS PUT IN DANGER.

This cache was found by Team PacketStorm and Team Indiana08 whilst completing their designated mission to SA. The teams set out together on the 01/02/13 to 09/02/13 to gain as many smiley's as they could in a short amount of time. Both teams logs will be exactly the same but I can assure you much fun was had by all.

I really do enjoy dirt roads and seeing stumpy tailed lizards sunning themselves in the warmth. I even enjoyed seeing the snake that I managed to miss earlier slithering back off of the road.
A nice quick locus cache here once I dodged the head high plants but thankfully, there were no bullants today [^]
This is a strange thing to be in the middle of nowehere but I guess that arable soil grows many crops and not just grains
As it was such a nice day, I then headed off to get a few more caches too

Caching today with Robmc and The Morris. We found this one whilst doing the APM series. One of the large number of caches we found today. TFTC
Found in the company of Bettyboo3747 and Robmc on our power trail run. Boy are there some big plants here.

Out on the trail with The Morris and Bettyboo3747 today, and we were just passing by, so we dropped in.
Interesting greenhouses around here, but I think the ants have decamped due to the steady stream of geocachers stomping past.
Thanks, Robmc.

My 7 year old sons first find he was super excited!! SLTSLS - I think these are the right acronyms (except the last S stands for Squinkie) And I am not sure what the right acronym is for Killed the Spider in the container...
Beware the VERY long grass out there it was knee height on me, but the flattened grass might help you find it! TFTC

The GPS had us going round and round and round for this one. The tall grass was over our knees! With some perseverance we finally found the little sucker! We could only wonder what the structure was all about. Hopefully it will bring down f&v prices! Thanks for showing it to us.
Had to wonder, Is it a colony off growing structures for food or a group of buildings growing for other reasons LOL not sure what they grow here but it sure cost a lot to put here.
Came through today while doing the APM power trail. Almost didn't find it because the GPSr had me at the wrong bush. No bull ants today, but there were muggles working on the outside of the building. Don't think they saw what I was doing . They were at the other end.
Left a calling card. TFTC

Having missed this one once before, had another look today and found straight away with no ants to bother us at all, interesting views TFTC
Found this one today, while in the area to complete the Small World powertrail nearby with a bee and a blue box!

With Team Scoobster we found this one on the way back to Adelaide. Saw the colony, then found the ant colony, so made a quick exit.
Stamped the log. Thanks for the cache Ciril.

Found during a massive 24 hour cache-a-thon with Rediguana, ADV, Hello Mrs and Pohutukawa - on the homeward stretch of our Oz MEGA trip.
We did 231 caches in this one day - a new personal best and an Australian record (until growingupisoptional put it in its place just one week later).
Sorry for the generic logs.
We had an awesome time with the TdF, APM and much of the NXY serries' of caches, as well as many others in between. Unfortunately they were all a blur in long, long, day.

A slight diversion from the APM series...
WOW, they are BIG colonies!

Thanks Ciril

Having already found all the caches around this one we never seemed to make our way out to get this one but today we decided to finally tick it off the to do list. Found it after a short search. TFTC
Had this one on the books for a long time but today on the way to the Event we decided to take a little detour... Wasn't hard to find just had to follow the trail...
Thanks Ciril for the cache..

Found in the company of the Chief (Dad) and the Walenators 5 days into our SA adventure. A good way to get my driving hours up! Back in control of the car after riding the NXY series, now driving the Earthbounds around the APM series in the wake of the Walenators dust! These structures certainly caused some debate between the 2 cars! Hmmm, my little brother EB Nano thought they might be growing aliens in there. TFTC
Is that a colony or what over that fence. Imagine what goes on in there. Cache was found easily. TFTC
A great conversation occurred at this cache as to what they could be growing in the structures across the way. One suggestion was zombies. I believe my children play far too many computer games! TFTC
Found this cache in 2011 with The Rhyan Clan and Team Scallywag.
I do appologise I am behind in logging my caches. My 2012 New Years Resolution is not to get so far behind in logging.

A diversion on the APM trail - I approached from several wrong directions until I found the right one - no unwanted wildlife encounters thankfully. There were the biggest thistles I've ever seen, mind you!
A chance to enjoy the northern Adelaide scenery and grab a few caches. A quick grab on some deserted roads today.
Thanks for the cache Ciril

Continuing on the APM series, Ms Bushies2 did the driving and Mr Bushies2 did the hunting...made a quick detour to find this one...8th of 63 finds today, great 8 hours caching day. Thanks Ciril.
Nice quick find while out doing the Australian Prime Minister series. Thanks for the cache.
Reperio:
This was another find today as part of a 24hr caching run that yielded 215 cache finds. Stopped by here while out doing the APM trail, and I was thankful I was here at night as the grass was quite thick. Cache was soon found and the greenhouses looked kind of eerie against the moonlight.
Gratias Ciril.

Having seen a snake just back on the track I was a bit nervous about this as it is very overgrown.
However it was found and signed but left a little less covered to give the next finder a better chance.
