Unfortunately this has fallen victim to an enthusiastic bulldozer driver, and despite a heap of digging we couldn't find the ammo can in the pile of dirt and timber.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by for a look over the past 11 years.

17-Nov-20
Taking the long way home with a planned sunset on top and stopped for a long overdue browse enroute. Maybe it was the bare legs and stinging nettles but had a very good poke around - surprised a D1.5 could be elusive. Maybe the phone GPS out a lot! Hut is on its way to falling down! Guess I’ll be back

I really wanted to find this cache. Ammo cans are great. Unfortunately, my search wasn’t good enough but it isn’t a DNF. I really didn’t search too hard as I already had seen a snake on the roads. This is a magical place and was entirely unexpected. More people should visit here.

19-Jan-19
Out for a drive a drive to Dargo with Greenlion09's mum and muggle Dave.

Found by Mr Dumowin. Magic spot. This is why we love caching! Thanks skullracing

19-Jan-19
Loved the old houses, took a bit of time to find.

20-Apr-18
Found it after a bit of searching but this little hut was very interesting to look inside

13-Apr-18
Great historic huts, Beautiful spot Thanks

31-Mar-18
Took a trip up to one of our favourite spots at treasures hut. We first saw this in 2003 and it was in great historical condition. It’s very disappointing to see the graffiti and disrespect by some people.
We also introduced a couple of muggles who were very excited and hopefully will take it up. TFTC

Great cache!! Driving around with fellow geofamily figginsfour!!

13-Feb-18
Found with Beaker on a week-long 4wd trip through the high country. Highlights included walking to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko, sunset from the top of Mt Pinnibar, seeing an Eastern Water Dragon in the Crooked River and having the living daylights scared out of us by a deer at Wonnangatta! Along the way we rescued a bushwalker from a 7km limp with a sprained ankle, climbed mountains, crossed rivers, saw many huts and beautiful scenery, did some excellent 4wd tracks and some great caches. Thanks Smile

13-Feb-18
Found with FerociousFlea while on our 8 day 4WD sojourn through the the High Country. We were collecting caches that we liked the look of as we went along.
Great spot... interesting old huts Smile
Took Harry Potter TB, left TB.

Called in on this one today to see how it survived the winter and the recent rains, and pleased to say it was still tucked up in its hiding spot and is all nice and dry inside.
I covered it with a couple of bits of old wood so any muggles don't come across it.

And I dropped off a Harry Potter TB to continue its travels.

12-Nov-17
Sadly Freda's bedroom hut has been burnt down, and the chimney of the original hut has collapsed.
Great spot for lunch on your cachinng travels
As much as I looked I didnt find the cache, it may be burried under a deep pile of fallen bark and leaf litter and without digging and making a mess at the site I decided to DNF this cache.
Thanks for taking me there as its a nice spot with history.

Found while travelling from Bairnsdale to Mt Hotham via Dargo as part of our 11 day caching, camping, cycling, climbing, caving and kayaking trip to eastern Victoria. This was treasure indead the hut looks like someone just got upand left a hundred years ago and never came home.
A favourite point from me for this awesome find.
Thanks

Revisited this cache today. 30/10/16. I was the last to visit on 2/7/16 and u dropped a trackable then. So I picked it up again to get it moving again.

Also left a new TB today. Message to the CO. Cache in perfect condition. Has withstood the winter beautifully.

02-Jul-16
Wonderful cache. Beautiful spot. Left a trackable which I will log when in range. Also left a pen

19-Apr-16
Found after a bit of a search - went down the wrong track first - a bit scary with a camper trailer in tow! Luckily we could just turn around at the end.

24-Nov-15
We stopped for lunch and went for a walk to the huts. after a bit of searching this one was ours. Cheers. MODU.

12-Jul-15
Found with Nanton34 and eighthknox with very sore heads after a big night at the local watering hole...
Bad weather stopped us heading into Grant but these huts were pretty cool.
TFTC.

11-Jul-15
With sore heads from the night before nanton34, whytknight and two other back seat drivers headed north where we hoped could travel north enough to reach the alpine county. Unfortunately with the inclement weather we had to call it quits at the point of this cache as the Subaru wasn't quite the vehicle for these slippery conditions with absolutely no recovery gear and no phone reception. Few stopped about 300 metres from GZ and took a direct route through the bush to GZ. After a relatively short search the cache was found followed by checking out the huts. We had some fun finding this one and was a good adventure. Tftc

11-Jul-15
After finding the caches around the township we decided to head north to see what we could grab. Unfortunately we didn't have one of our 4wds with us so eighthknox took on the challenge in his forester. This meant that a trip to Grant was ruled out given the muddy conditions. So instead we ventured further north until we got within walking distance of this cache and completed the journey on foot. It was interesting checking out the huts and the cache was found in excellent condition. TFTC

I am new to Geocaching and this was my first ever hunt for one! On arrival there was people everywhere which was expected being a long weekend. Not wanting to look like a looney looking under in and around everything with a GPS in my hand we waited in the car until the coast was clear! A lengthy look around, the missus and I finally found it after nearly giving up twice!! Nicely hidden away!
We didn't take anything as I haven't had a chance to get any little treasures to put back in! A quick log in the book and we were looking at the GPS for the next closest Cache!

23-Apr-15
At the last moment, I received time off of work in order to head over to do the High Voltage 101 power trail and spend time 4WDing in the amazing and wonderful Victorian high country Cool
GPS, thewhitedoggang and Princess Consuela were my travelling companions and great company they were, too [^]
All up, over 6 days, 161 caches were found Smile with only 2 DNFs Sad (one of which we later realised was already disabled Red Face )
Also, during our High Voltage experience, I hit my 8,000th cache find Cool

3 caches found today, this was the second.
Now that I am logging, I finally see who the CO is Surprised Now that is Ironic! Wink
Loved seeing these huts and the hunt for the cache which had us all over the place, in the rain and with wet foliage so we got rather damp but that's half the fun of caching Wink
So pleased to have logged yet another of your caches Smile

TNLN. SL. TFTC skullracing Smile

Co-ords were bouncing all over the place which made our searching in the rain a bit more difficult than it should have been. We eventually found the beast we were searching for and then had a look at the accommodation. Although the outdoor baths were full of water, we decided to give it a miss today.

Travelled from SA to do some High Country trails with The White Dog Gang, Princess Consuela and Locus Cache. We all had a great time.

Thanks skullracing for the cache, the laughs and the adventure.

What a Treasure! (Pardon the pun). With our friends and fellow cachers MarknDee we are on a fun weekend in the Dargo High Plains. Had a wander around all the different buildings here, when we eventually found the correct track in! It was so pleasant we set out our chairs and lunch and stayed a while. SL at 1pm Took: can openers Left: camo soldier. We have been surprised that all these high country caches have not been visited much over the summer - the best time to visit we think! #2784 TFTC skullracing

08-Mar-15
Travelling ahead of Harrowang, we missed the track in at first pass and tried another more difficult approach before we realised we had gone astray Red Face and retrieved our position. Found the huts fascinating and located the cache at 1pm. Mr Treasure was well known mountain cattleman when Geo Mark was with the Forest Commission at Mansfield a year or two back!! Maybe he was responsible for the third hut! SL Took puzzle. Left gold badge TFTC Skullracing

Sun shining, beautiful spring day - time for a spot of fishing. Then what am I doing up here on the high plains. Thought that I would have to pay a visit to treasures huts again. Great spot in the bush, and part of the history of the area and the important family for these plains.
GPSr didn't like this locality, but after a while it settled down. Had time to explore the huts while waiting, then pick up the cache. All is still in good condition in its double skin protection. TNLN. SL and carefully replaced the cache.

Thanks.

gps gods were against us today but teaser found it. great spot, would never have known of its existence, thanks for bringing us to this bit of history. tnlnsl tftc

I spent almost as much time looking through the older huts as I did looking for the cache.

History frozen in time! What a great spot that deserves to be preserved as a reminder of times gone by!
Thanks skullracing for bringing us here. TFTC

What a piece of history. Places like this need to be preserved. Thanks for bringing us here.
Found with geo-twin. TFTC

10-Apr-12
Left a wet & windy camp at dargo, arrived at the huts in snow. Kids loved driving in the snow. Found the cache only to be surprised by a couple of bush walking mugglers shouting down to us as they inspected a couple of huts. Sure scared us as we thought we were the only crazy ones out in the cold & snow.
Loved the find. TFTC

12-Mar-12
We decided to take the long way home today and besides, we wanted to have lunch at the Dargo pub Wink. This one popped up on the radar as we were heading south so a quick diversion to this incredibly interesting little spot had us with the large stash in hand quite quickly at 13:15.

What an amazing place Big Grin.

TNLNSL, although a couple of our geocoins had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks skullracing.

13-Nov-11
After checking our own cache at Dargo we set of to do a few in the area. Treasure's huts looked a bit sad but hey!! if it's snowing and freezing cold they would be most welcome. A hunt for a few minutes turned up the cache.

Took the geogold TB and a shark opener. Left a small brolly and a plastic puzzle.

Found on a grand 4WD day out with DJ Rascal, TheChops & Lostmonster & Co.
Made our way to this location after having some lunch. Enjoyed the drive to this one and after missing the entry point, we soon chucked a 'u-ey' & made our way down to GZ. We all had a good look around the huts and surrounds before heading off to find the cache. Imagine the stories those walls could tell. I think we'd only stop in the hut if we were desperate! Smile
Many thanks Skullracing for sharing this spot with us!

This was find number three on a weekend four wheel driving in the high country with DJ The Chops & Haveanez.
We all pulled up at the Huts and had a good look around, absorbing the history.
They might look a bit shabby but would be better inside than out if caught in a snow storm.
After a few minutes the look was full on, and soon enough Big Al from the Chops found the goods.
The log was signed by all and re-hidden as found.

Many thanks to Skullracing again for bringing us to this part of the world Big GrinSmile.

07-May-11
We'd been to this spot before, but hadnt found the cache. I'm not sure if it was BC (Before Caching), or we just logged a DNF. Anyway, we had the opportunity to visit again, while on a 4WDing/caching weekend in the area, and this time logged the find. Interesting to see these huts still standing, with a bit of history attached. Thanks for bringing us here!

07-May-11
In company with theChops, Haveanez and Lostmonster as part of a high country weekend.
We pulled up and had a look the huts first before searching for the cache. Some interesting items in the huts, some items look to belong to inhabitants that had left not so long ago.
Very interesting site but I can see that being easily accessible so close to the road it doesn't take long for idiots to vandalize and ruin things. Still, the place seems to be holding up to the visitors well enough.
We all wandered over to Gz had searched for a bit before theChops had come up with the goods.

Thanks Skullracing for highlighting an interesting location out here in the sticks.
Thought it was a good location and the cache name was appropriate to leave the "Garfield" gold nugget GC.

Cheers.

The start of our "Mountains to the Sea" caching run - this was our first stop after having the mandatory sausage roll at Dargo. Then onward to the GZ. A fairly greasy track as the huts were approached but we were soon parked and out looking for a cache. It wasn't long and I had the first find for the day - and a FTF to boot! Big Grin - We signed the log and Miss E swapped a wrist band for a ball. I then replaced the cache and after looking around at the huts we made it back onto the road and proceeded northward on our adventure. Thanks to Skullracer1 for this cache.

Elmer.
