Heute ging es von Queenstown weiter nach Fox Glacier über eine wundervolle Bergstrasse. Wir haben die Dosen am Wegesrand eingesammelt und die tollen Aussichten genossen. Danke fürs Legen.
We have to log a DNF for this one as there has been a lot of damage caused by the storm a couple of weeks ago. Logs and debris have been washed ashore which makes serching very difficult. This one might need to be ckecked by the CO.
The lack of a hint and a low difficulty rating made me think this cache must be hidden in an obvious place. My GPSr led me to the obvious place I had already spotted. There was no sign of the cache and I strongly suspect the recent storm is responsible for it being absent.
I'm from Norway, escaping the cold winter and travelling around New Zealand for 7 weeks, using geocaching as my tourguide. Today I drove from Queenstown via Jackson Bay to Franz Josef Glacier, stopping for park and grab-caches at beautiful viewpoints. It was really hard to keep driving, as I wanted to stop for photos everywhere. What a beautiful part of New Zealand this is!

Lovely to see the sea after a few days inland. Cache rather soggy... Inevitable given the location. TFTC!
I was out on a road trip from Queenstown to Hokitika and back again and stopped to look for this cache on my travels. Parked here and took in the great views along the beach here. Made a quick find of the cache at GZ. TFTC!
Mistakenly scrambled rocks for a while then remembered the DT rating didn’t call for it. Tftc!
Quick stop and found during heavy rain. As many others here we found and signed white pebble stone. Tftc
Fast and easy fund along the scenic coastal road.
Many thanks for hiding this cache!

Lovely beach where we stopped for coffee and muffins at a roadside stall. While the rest were enjoying their food, I enjoyed a short drive up to the beach to claim this cache. TFTC!
Because of the rain, not a local in sight! We did see however, the cache!
Easy find on a almost deserted place. As mentioned, the book is soaking wet!
Can't write in it, so it's gonna be a foto log.

Heavy rain kept the locals away. I don't think that the log could have gotten any wetter.
We had the great chance to travel around New Zealand during six weeks and were able to see wonderful cities, landscapes and meet nice Kiwis. While staying in NZ many cache owners gave us the opportunity to search for very well hidden treasures and we thank them very much for preparing and maintaining them.

Today has also been a mix of caches on the road or after a short hike.
That brings us every time to nice spots and beatifull scenery. It has been partly mountains, glaciers and lakes today. And all todays caches are found.
The view was good but the cache is very wet.

je odtud pěkný výhled na moře, jen kdyby nelítaly ty otravné sandflies
geo smysl mě zavedl bez hintu ke správné skrýši... někdo neumí zavírat sáček ani krabičku, takže je uvnitř dost vlhko

Walksabit and I are continuing our tour heading north along the west coast of the South Island. Wow what a sight to see the waves crashing into the shore. I love it! Thanks for placing a cache here so we stopped to enjoy the view.

Nice little hide. Gorgeous view on a windy day. Note the book may need replacing, getting a bit soggy!
Day 4 Hokitiki - Lake Paringa
We ventured back into Hokitiki to find a couple more caches before heading into the glacier area.
Raining most of the morning so picked up a few where we didn't have to venture to far from the camper. A great drive down the coast, many good caches in wonderful locations.

Enjoying our NZ Motorhome adventure, using geocaching as our travel guide. This was another worthy location to pause and enjoy.

Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late and generic log, something I am notorious for. Thank you Sarah & Dadfor adding to the adventure that is geocaching.

After 5 days, I'm beginning to feel quite comfortable in New Zealand. There is so much to remind me of home - mountains, glaciers, and the seashore. It's getting close to the end of a three month adventure, mostly away from home. micaparamedic arrived at my place in Washington State toward the end of July and we immediately headed down to Oregon to find some old caches for his Jasmer challenge. From there we headed up north to The Yukon and Northwest Territories in Canada for a few weeks.
We attended the mega APE event in Washington, and the same day headed down to camp on a farm in Oregon where we were directly in the path of a total solar eclipse. Back at my place, we took a few day trips before heading to Australia where we spend almost a month doing many things on my bucket list including walking around Uluru and seeing the Sydney Harbour. Now we're spending a few weeks in New Zealand before once again going our separate ways. What a trip!
Today we were still on the west coast enjoying what it has to offer.
Thanks for the warning about the locals. At a previous cache we had no idea about them and were thoroughly attacked and suffered for days afterward.

Greetings from Australia, found as we continued exploring, we managed to make the stop here, log retrieved signed and replaced as found, thanks for the cache and the fun
Despite the warning we spotted - - - or felt not one sandfly. Maybe it's the wrong time of the year - - - ???
One of our touring party wanted to stop here to see the smooth white stones, two wanted to find two caches so stop here we did. It has been raining most of the day but we have been very fortunate to have favourable weather for most of our stops so that's been good. TFTC .

Out with Red Roaming as we continue our wonderful tour of New Zealand. On our way to Fox Glacier today via a few caches, of course. We put lots of insect repellent on before getting out of the car as I didn't want to get bitten. Cache soon found. MTFTC
Donned fly spray and fly bands as well as covered up before getting out of the car to get this cache which luckily didn't take long! However we wanted to work on the earth cache nearby...and git bitten of course! Many thanks

"Top 10 NZ's most loved beaches" the nearby sign said. Well, that's only to have a sneak peak at it and then leave again, I guess? Today wasn't a nice beach day, at all, so after logging I ran to my car to hide from the rain... and the sandflies! Thanks for hiding!
Thanks for showing this nice place, found on our trip around New Zealand, greetings from Switzerland.
Nice beach and a straight forward park and grab. Enjoying our drive along the West Coast in fine weather, TFTC.
Today from Wanako to Fox Glacier.
The day started very sunny an quite warm. Approaching the coast it became more cloudy. But still about 19-20 degrees.
On the way I could sign the log.

A half year ago we - McMuffin, Flitzpiepe, LE Surfy and I - started with the concrete plans for our holidays in New Zealand . The flights and the campervan were booked, the hotels in Auckland and Christchurch were selected and the route was planned . On 16.2.2017 we started our journey and arrived on 18.2.2017 in Auckland, a little bit tired, but very excited. The baggage was given in the hotel and we already went on sightseeing and seeking caches. Of course, we visited at the harbor, walked through the streets and had a look over Auckland from the top of the Skytower.
On 19.2.2017 started our campervan adventure . First we drove to Coromandel Peninsula. I like the Driving Creek Railway, the New Chum Beach and the Cathedral Cove very much.
Then we drove criss-cross the North Island. At first we visited Hobbiton, we saw the glowworm caves and stopped at the imposing Mount Taranaki .
The route took us back to the Tongariro National Park, to Lake Taupo and to Rotorua. The hot springs and geysers are really impressive. We also stopped at the Huka Falls. It was great .
The starry sky at the East Cape was phenomenal . Then we visited Gisborne and Napier.
Before we went to the South Island, we visited Wellington. The city is really beautiful but it is also the windiest city I have been.
Arrived on the South Island, our first destination was the Abel Tasman National Park. We walked along the Costal Walk .
We went onto Franz Josef Glacier by Heli. That was very cool .
On our way to Lake Hawea we interruped our tour for this cache and this beautiful beach. I was very impressed - in the west the amazing beach and in the east fantastic snowy mountains.
Thanks for this cache and many greetings, Iliona

Fevalas and I spend 5 weeks at this beautiful country. We visit the North and the South Island.
Today we are going to Franz Josef. We were wondering that this beach is one of the 10 most loved beaches? I can't believe. Nobody is here besides the thousands of sandflies.... We saw more than 10 nicer beaches and we havent't been everywhere in NZ... Nevertheless everything was ok with box and logbook.
Thanks for the cache and best regards from Germany!

We were swarmed by a bunch of mozzies as soon as we pulled up, so Mrs Rattll refused to get out of the car . Mr Rattll was given instructions on where to find the cache, & to open & shut the car door as quickly as possible when getting in and out.
Fortunately for Mr Rattll it was a quick find.
We left a pet rock - a possum.
Thanks for the challenging, surviving the man eating sandflies, cache Sarah & Dad

Found today while heading from Franz Josef to Queenstown. In the area from Florida and love it here.
As i drove down to Queenstown today on my vacation here in this beautiful country, i also came to this place and took a stop. I even went into the waves for a quick cool down, but the drag of the waves was to heavy to go fully in. So i did, what i can do good: finding caches and sign their logs. Also at this place and wasn't disturbed while doing so.
Thank you for hiding this cache at this nice beach and for maintaining it
