Finally got to find this cache. Its been bugging me for ages. The fencing was gone and it was a fairly quick find after I realised it was not what I was expecting. TFTC!
Find#2421After doing the kid sport thing this morning, I told the wife it was such a beautiful day that I was going out geocaching. I also had the added bonus of needing to fill a hole in my 366 day calendar too. A very sneaky hide. Cache and log in excellent conditionTFTC
This was starting to frustrate me! I am currently stuck on the adventure lab plus this cache because the area is fenced off. There is room to safely access the GZ if it was muggle free but who would of thought on a Monday early afternoon there would be so many cars driving around the wetlands and in particular up near where I had stopped in front of the GZ entrance. So I was very frustrated that I couldnt find the cache without being caught by muggles. Unsure of how to get it. Decided to abandon my attempts (I drove up to GZ twice!) and went on to some caches near Thornton instead.
This was an interesting area I learnt so much. Out today with KAZ444. Thanks for placing the cache.
GAP YEAR BIG LAP - PART 2: THE ROAD TRIP - Day 12#1 of 8 caches todayTravelling between Gloucester & Kurri Kurri we detoured via the Big Mosquito & came out to the Riverside park in Hunter Wetlands NP for a picnic lunch. On the way back we popped in here to have a look at the old radar station. J's Mum was in the WAAAF in the 50s or 60s working on radar so it was of family interest, however we don't think she worked here. While J was having a closer look at the bunkers I found the official geocache with its micro inside which was full of ants & eggs which were not too happy about being disturbed. It hasn't been found for about 3mths so I guess that was enough time to establish a nest.Clever creation in plain sight.#3758 @ 1420hTFTC Yella Belly
Its 35 degrees and Im just starting to get hot today! I came in here to the park as I had always driven past this area on pizza deliveries to Hexham during my uni days. Its an area worthwhile of exploring even if I have picked the hottest day this season to explore it. The cache was found easily once I took my sunglasses off. These radar buildings are really cool. The car park is blocked off but I didnt see any signs saying dont walk in. TFTC
TFTC and a nice find. Out geocaching with Goldberry today and having a great time. Loved your cache. A favourite from me. I’ve wanted to come here in ages to get your cache but today was the day.
A bit of a crawl under the gate to visit this place. Very interesting site. Lots of info and a cache as well. Always a pre requisite to visit. TFTC.
Quick find at GZ. If you don’t mind the radar station being gated off though
Yahoo. Second time lucky. Cache has been replaced since we were here last. New one took a little while but then success! Did use the hint though
Hello Yella Belly thank you for the cache
A lovely interesting place.

DNF bison tube.
I do see the remains of a bridge with wooden sides that has been covered with rocks right where the hint and the location would indicate it was close to.
Also spotted a red belly while having a look around the location, stay safe folks.

Didn't find it. To hard for a seven year old. But very interesting destination
Replaced cache, it is now a bison tube well camouflaged. The area has been changed but the cache is in the same area. Good Luck.
Did a maintenance check today and discovered that the cache has been buried under a pile of rocks. Will have to relocate it a bit and place another container there. Sorry Yella Belly.
Couldn't find this one, currently fences up saying the area is closed for maintenance as well.
Having read the previous log I didn't hold out much hope. No sign of anything that I could see.
I think you should go and check this cache. There has been some civil works in the area, and i think your hide has been disturbed. After walking circles, trying to get a good gz, i ended up at the one spot where said works have been undertaken, but i did spot the remnants of a wall, which may fit with the hint. I spotted a largish piece over near the wall, and for whatever reason, i turned it over, and there is the cache. No log in it though. I have placed a pice of paper in it, which i signed. I dont thin it will last long in its present position. TFTC.
Out doing the AL and had a second look for this cache. Had given up and walking away when I noticed something with the gps. Had another look in a different location and had CIH. Nice to turn a frown upside down. TFTC
Far to overgrown for us to find.
Great to learn a little history though.

Did a cache check today and found it in exactly the same place it should be. Replaced the log sheet and cleared the debris from on top so as it might be a bit easier to locate. will also increase the difficulty as the area has become very over groan. Good luck and enjoy the area.
Yella Belly. By the way it is a key holder but not magnetic.

Will disable it until I can check on it after Covid restrictions are eased as I don't think the container is the correct one.
Found what we think is the canister but It did not have a lid or log and a spider had taken up residence.
Finally got to do a maintenance check today and found it still there but there has been much vine growth around the area so will give another clue. It is within one and half Mtrs. of the left hand post on the walkway.
Bushes and brambles were too wild for the small human and I. Will try another trip. Thanks for the history tour though!
I went with Fitzy_1965 for a long weekend drive up the east coast to Port Macquarie caching along the way and visiting several new towns and villages. A highlight was a get together with Pprass & Kat after a few mega 4wd climbs in the afternoon. Day 1 dawned and Fitzy & I headed north. We did not stop till well after Sydney. With the new Tunnel the Pennant Hills road time sink goes to 6mins for $7.00. We did an Adventure Lab in Raymond Tce bumping into Big Matt & Shell nearby, then continued North to Taree for the evening.
We came onto this island with hopes for three caches, but went away empty handed. The clue seemed pretty clear, but we did not managed to locate a cache here.
Thanks.

Finally got to check on it today and it is still where it is suppose to be .As the bushes have grown a fair bit will up grade the difficulty rating and change the co-ords a bit to help find.

Coordinates changed to:

Distance from original: 7.9 feet or 2.4 meters.
As caches were having trouble locating the cache I have slightly changed the co-ords which may help in its location. It is only 2.4 m but may help.

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache.

I am currently in central Queensland but will check on it when I get home mid August. Sorry about the delay.

Very overgrown so could not find anything, though possibly on the metal bridge but nothing
Found it. Avery sneaky hide.Be careful of the hint. A favorite . TFTC YellaBelly.
After a couple of DNF's finally got a chance to look myself and I had a DNF as well, so replaced the cache ready for others to find. But it is now a camouflaged magnetic key holder. Good Luck.
Could see where we thought it should be and would be a great hiding spot but couldn’t see anything close by. Might be worth checking.
The treasures we have that we don’t know about always amazes my. This is why I love geocaching.
Quick find, nice cache, all in good order. Nice big box.
Thank you Yella Belly for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

After doing Huff Duff, Trodectus and a muggle friend headed here for another find and view the installation. Parked nearby and walked to GZ, soon had CIH. Log signed and returned. TFTC
3rd find with Coybear2000 and a muggle friend while on the island. We parked at the gates and walked to GZ and quickly spotted the hide. Log signed and all replaced and we spent some time looking at the old buildings. One of them had incredible acoustics and our friend showed off his singing abilities. We eventually continued our journey to the botanic gardens. TFTC.
Great location and Cache, kid friendly. Had my boys with me and they loved finding it. I left a pen with the log and more swag items for anyone else coming with kids. TFTC
Great spot l, thanks for the find! The box was a bit stick but still fun to find, you have to look prints hard but once again a great spot!
