Can the cache owners please check the trackable log sheet and see who took our coin please?
[font=Comic Sans MS][blue]There is no trackable log-sheet and within the logbook there isn't any information - sorry[/blue]
And what shall we call it? Wintergrillen Take II ! Forgot to mention in our log - we missed not having the opportunity to sample the Glühwein.
[purple]I love this log-type[/purple][font=Comic Sans MS]
Sorry guys - I know you get an email everytime I post one of these but I just imagine myself with a noisy megaphone :bad: Anyway. It will be the last one. I promise

My first event and i finally put some names to faces. Met new caching friends and had alot fun
Thanks
Thanks
This was a first for me - the first event I've attended without the host present. And it almost turned out to be a DNF. There were a lot of people hunting around for the log book for a while before it was finally found.
I enjoyed catching up with fellow cachers. Thanks for organising the event. Maybe we'll meet at another event.

It took 45 minutes to find the hidden event logbook with over 20 teams of cachers looking!!!
It was eventually found by Dave from Squalid in a spot he appeared to have dug over more thoroughly than I would have thought possible and still miss something so large!
I found a stash of what could be loosely terms "swaps"...several unused packs of condoms which is probably a good reason not many caches have been hidden in this area. The last cache that lived around here was Partic's 27 memories multicache - when I tried finding that, I found nothing but syringes and condoms (used)...yeuch!!!

Made a quick apperence, chatting to some familiar faces before heading off to grab a few caches in the area.
Thanks for the event Martina und Philipp

Nearly had to log my first DNF for an event! There were quite a few experienced cachers there looking for the log book. Turned out to be exactly where the GPS said it was - just well hidden. The event got under way, and there was a lot of standing around reminiscing about past caches. Also got to meet a couple of new teams - 3blackducks live nearby, so we'll see them around some of our caches. Thanks Martina and Philipp - hope to meet you sometime.

Attended a bit late. Arrived just before stumps, and found the last three others there.
This is the first time I've attended an event with an absentee host, who by some chance had left with the log book.
I'm claiming it as a find, because I attended while there were still others in attendance, and within the advertised hours of the event.
I think it is fair for me to claim the LTF (Last to find) on this one.

First event for me, good to see faces to names and those who have meet before, looking out for the next.
Arrived to find lots of people scouring the bushed for the log which was found not long after!
A good get together- great to meet new faces & others from previous events.
We had a nice afternoon at your event Martina & Philip- hope you had fun where you were!

Jinky and John came up from Geelong, after picking up a TB (Hertz Car) from the Avalon TB Hotel. Our first event, and amazing to meet so many people, from so many places and ages. Easily found the spot - over 20 people tearing at the undergrowth in search of the logbook was a dead giveaway!
Went along, met some new friends and said hello to others we have met at other events.
Cooked a few snags and tried out the jim beam spicy sauce (yum) on the snags.
A pity the hosts couldn't attend, but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves anyway

We got here at around 14:50 to find that the logbook had already been found (not surprising) but also reading the logs, it seems like it hadn't been found for long before we arrived. Met some new faces at our first event cache, and good to also match the faces to the team! Didn't stay for long (around an hour). Picked up about 4 TB's. TFTC
Turned up with 3up to join in the search for the mysterious cache / log . A great turn out even if the hosts were not there , showing that we look forward to catch up with each other and what a great game that we play . It seems as we look in the car park that there are quite a number of 4wd's dressed up with nowhere to go , does this mean that caching and 4w driving go hand in hand ? it seem so ! . There has been plenty of interest of a 4wd / camping Event Cache through Big Desert starting near Rainbow to Murrayville then back down south along the well known Border Track picking up caches along the way , this is easy 4w driving and mainly sand and may be held over a weekend in September or October . Email me if you are interested or have any questions - Steve
Awesome. My first event cache. Got to meet many famous faces both owners or finders. 3up, robmc, imapom, tackle_head, Rabbito, PrincessDiala, Muzza, Mr.Coffee and the Coffee Clan, and maccamob.
I guess I'll have to wait till the next one to meet Martina and Philipp, but TFTE!
Dropped off two travelbugs including one I brought back from Frances a few weeks ago.

Attended today with Mrs Iamapom. Met many of the usual chums, cooked up some ace sausages, and viewed the local "wildlife". Grabbed a whole bunch of travel bugs to take to Perth next week. Thanks for the event !

Hmmmmmm . . . . . . . . P-P’s face was as red as his jumper!
Arriving first and knowing the event organiser had found a better offer , we followed the first July 2nd announcement and looked for the “bag/box” and log book that had been mentioned. Nothing obvious in the vicinity of the BBQ area! So we looked on-line to check the information and found a further announcement with some co-ords. So off we went and, taking the description literally, looked under “logs/branches”, and looked, and looked and looked. Eventually we were joined by Squalid and then a bevy of other cachers. What we didn’t realise was that it was actually located under the ground cover and P-P had stood on the log book on a number of occasions (as had others) whilst looking .
Looking back, the confusion at the start was rather fun and certainly added to the day’s activities.
Once the material was eventually found by Squalid (well done) , the Event commenced and we believe great fellowship was had by all. We were able to catch up with some newbie’s as well as greet long time friends, and to top it all off, we even had a German component in the form of Team p-boro. Thanks for adding to the atmosphere.
Thanks to Martina and Philipp for taking the initiative, we hope you will be able to attend the next event you organize. .

Yes, Mary & David were there too. We arrived just as the early crowd emeged from the scrub with the log book. It's now three months since Oz Mega Wagga Wagga, when we saw many old friends. We were delighted to see so many newer cachers here today, as well as a lot of those old friends. Checked out Crackers' crutches (he's doing so well) and met the Partic juniors - a pigeon pair and gorgeous. Sorry that mein Host and Hostess missed it all. Better have another Event! Collected the "2009 Geocoin".
We pulled up here about 45 minutes after the event was supposed to start to find a lot of cachers fumbling around in the bush opposite the event location. Being our first big outing since my hip replacement we headed over to see what was going on and catch up with every one. We were told what had happened and that the log book could not be located so it looked like this was going to be our first non event event. The mood was certainly not as happy as we had expected.
Perseverance paid off and the book was found, and the mood started to lighten up, so we headed back for the usual catch up with old friends and meet some new ones. We had a chance to catch up with quite a few teams we had not met before and had a great time chatting over a few drinks.
As the sun started to set the temperature dropped and most started to head off to warmer places.
Thanks Martina and Philipp hopefully we will catch up with you at another event.

Ich bin nicht ganz sicher, ob ich im Logbuch stehe, aber ich war da! Toll die Grills, die mit Knopfdruck angehen. Es war ganz schön kalt zum Grillen.

8th find of the day, and 2520th total find at 19:14.
It's not the first time we have attended an event where the host's haven't turned up.
In spite of it all we had a great time catching up with old friends, and making new ones. The 'boys' had time to compare their Landcruisers, and arrange a 4WD Geocaching event, whilst the 'ladies' decided to hold a mulled wine tasting & recipe swap. All we have to do now is merge the two events together.
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Thanks ? for the cache

Tristan the Travel Turtle Tag (TTQWTC) has come for a flying visit back in time.
Arrived here around 15 mins after start time, saw a few geocache management vehicles and knew I was in the right spot.
Headed to where I recognised a few familiar faces, and saw lots of people hunting around for the logbook!
We must have been hunting around for ages, and then someone said they had a picture of where it was hidden.
Not long after (which must have been 30 minutes from start time) the cache was finally located.
We moved over to where the event was supposed to be held and chatting and mingling - well half of our party did our other halves went over to play on the equipment.
It was weird I must say to attend without the host attending, but another German cacher came over and introduced herself and brought out her movables for us to browse through.
All in all a good day =o)
Thanks for organising the event Martina und Philipp and sorry you both were unable to attend.
We'll have to say 'hi' at the next event.

I managed to get at least one of the Rabbitto team to this event with the others being spread all over the country at present. I arrived at 3:30pm and after finding that the parking was $4.00 an hour, I drove 200m away across the road and parked for free. Most of the usual suspects were there and quite a few new suspects too of which I was pleased to meet a few. Our 34th Event cache. Thanks from D B-A.
Planned to do some caching in the area. Checked the Geo listing on the GPS and it said there is a FTF. Then I see it is the event. Oh I forgot. Best I make an appearance. Turned up just as everyone tried to find parking. Had a quick chat to some new and old faces before getting back to our day out. TFTE
Day 5 in Melbourne after moving here from Germany and there’s a already a geocaching event near the beach, what a great timing. We were desperate to get out of our not-yet- so- cosy new home and meet some fellow cachers. Too bad Philipp and Martina couldn’t make it, but we definitely enjoyed it. Talked to lots of nice people, left almost all the TBs and coins we had brought over, had a BBQ, were introduced to the idea of p######s and even saw some sunshine.
Great afternoon, thanks for organizing it and see you all at the next event.

Arrived late so didn't BBQ. Caught up with a lot of great and some new cacher's. The party was not hindered by the absence of the organizers. Cacher's love a gathering. Great event. TFTC. Kems
We arrived just as a few of the others were sharing the news of the hosts preferred activity and it was all a bit surreal. We were no help in the search for the log book but congrats to Squalid for his persistence when most of us had taken a break. We stayed for a while until it started to get chilly and then off for a couple more caches. Not sure if we will be able to travel the 2 and a bit hours to get here for V2 but shall watch with interest.
good fun for the whole family... the kids on the playground while the adults talked business

Tackle_head was the chauffer today and as we were parking the car we noticed a lot of bums pointing skyward. We immediately thought, that looks like fun, so we darted across the road to join in but we were met with some bewildered looking faces. Seems they had been searching for about 20 minutes for the log book with no success. I had a look too and could see where the others had looked. About 10 minutes later, squalid said "found it!" There were some cheers and happy looking faces again. It was then off to the park for the event. Squalid made the FTF entry and the rest followed. It was great to see familiar faces and to meet some newbies. It is fantastic how this game evolves. I enjoyed several cool beverages and I apologise if I was a little boustrous. This is the first time I have attended an event where there was no event organisor. Hmmmm. Not sure I'd be heading off to a wedding after organising an event, especially if I was only given the wedding invite one day before the wedding. Anyway, I had a fun and glad I turned up.

Boy, you have to be fast to log this event - disabled already!
We didn't have the latest logs, so we didn't know that the host had elected not to turn up, fortunately there were heaps of interesting cachers there, and we had a good time.
Can't say I was tempted by the beach, but the walk up the hill did offer a great view.
Thanks, Robmc.

After doing a few caches along the way, and then dropping in for visits with a couple of family members in nearby Brighton, I headed down to this very familiar spot for the Event. I grew up only a couple of hundred metres from here and spent a lot of my childhood indulging in a variety of activities within a short distance. I was a bit surprised to find the hosts were non-attendees, but was happy to see that there was an excellent turnout by many old-timers and quite a few of the "younger" generation. As always, time flew by quickly in the presence of much animated conversation and I didn't even notice the cold until it got dark and I was back in my car heading for home with the heater turned right up.
Thanks Martina and Philipp - I hope the wedding was great and I look forward to meeting you next time.

Managed to get to the event after doing a few caches further south only to find that the holder couldn't make it! However I had a great time talking to cachers old and new. I was keen to meet some newer cachers after having had to leave the last two events early and I managed to do so. Although I do wish they had name tags - I have a lousy head for names.
Thanks for the event - you will have to hold another one and not attend that as well! It was good fun.

I hope you liked the location and meeting fellow geocachers. Martina and I did have fun at the gorgeous wedding. I did attach some pictures we took on the day - maybe you want to share some of yours
We are planning to host (this time for real) the next Melbourne GC-event on Saturday 31st July at the same location :cute: I am planning on showing a little bit of how to create Wherigo cartridges if you are interested.
As soon as the next listing is online I'll archive this one and post a link to the new one.
Until then have fun and take care

The Logbook is located at S37° 52.913' E144° 58.631 beneath some logs/branches. It's inside a ziploc. If anybody could bring that book and the left-over Travelbugs & Coins to my place after the event that would be great. Sorry but I gotta get dressed now.

I've just received a last minute invitation to a wedding which will be ... tomorrow. Yep. I won't be at the Wintergrillen event :tired: I'll leave the logbook and the Travelbugs in a box/bag close to the BBQ-site and post the coords later on. If anybody could just drop the logbook into my mailbox that would be awesome. I'll leave the address and the coords in the box/bag.
I'm sorry but the guy who gets married is really one of the good guys. I simply can't miss that.

on this very last day of the FY. I just talked to Taranis and he said the weather should be awesome. I don't know what he means by that 'cos he is the celtic god of thunder after all. Anyway. It's Melbourne: If we don't like the weather, we just wait five minutes.
I droped some TBs into the cache and if everything works out I'll be there with the brand-new cachemobile (which will have a tracking-# as well - will be a 2005 Groundpeak Volunteer Geocoin)

Plan on attending this event- will give me a chance to do a few more Melbourne caches too!
We'll also try to come; and if we do, we'll bring lots of TBs and coins from Germany.
Busy packing, the p-boros
