Found today whilst out dropping off a TB and stopping for lunch with my grandmother and TwigNZ. TFTC, TNLNSL
"It's been a long time between Oranges" or so the expression says.
I haven't been Cacheing much over the last few weeks, primarily due to having a relative over from the old country. But she leaves tomorrow, and has wanted to see what the fuss is that she hears my son and I enthusing about.
So a family afternoon out was in order. 3 generations, a car, and great weather - what could possibly go wrong?
Well actually very little. We had stopped at Byrons Resort and had a fantastic late lunch, during which I had checked out what Caches were to be had locally. This one was just down the road so off we went.
Parked up at the end of the road and had a gentle walk along the path until we found GZ. Nice views inland as we signed the log, and then the boy and I had a scramble up the nearby sand dune to be rewarded with beautiful views seaward from the top.
The cache is in great order. Signed the log on behalf of my son and I and replaced exactly as found.
This was a very pleasant easy find in a location I had never been to before, so thank you for placing the cache and encouraging us to spend great family time together and see new places.

Sat on the Ben hand contemplated the countryside while two sets of muggles passed by. TFTC
Thanks tmann421 for the cache. This is our find number 740 and we found it at 4:35 PM on 20 November 2017. Pleased to quickly find this one after failing (DNF) at nearby cache on beach
Found on a "beach hop" from Waikawa down to PekaPeka. Nice quick find thanks to the hint on a windy day.
parked up and took the very short walk to gz, as I had the container two guys walked by and didnt notice me so that was a bonus, log was wet so if the next person could bring a new one that would be great. thanks for the placement.
Two tmann421 caches in one day! Having found the one that overlooked the sea in Bevan Knox Reserve we headed along the sandy track to the road and made our way to this one. Another nice bit of reserve. As we walked along the street to get here we wondered how many of the houses are holiday homes and how many are lived in permanently. I soon found the cache, tucked away away from the track, but once again with a convenient bench seat nearby to sit on to sign the log. This cache had a little water in the container, the plastic bag was a bit ripped and the log was rather damp. As the sun was out and a breeze was blowing we sat there for a few minutes with the log sheet waving in the breeze like washing on the line, until it was dry enough to sign the log. I removed the ripped plastic bag and replaced it with a nice dry new one and emptied the water from the cache. Hopefully the log will stay a little drier now.
Thanks tmann421 for another cache in a nice location that we would otherwise never have visited.

Second find for the day before we headed back home to Wellington. Quick find as the clouds started to roll in, TFTC
Accompanied Yeetrees and Gonefishing on another excursion into the hinterland escaping Wellington. We found a number of caches around Otaki and Levin in our journeys. Thanks to all the CO’s who placed the caches for us to locate.
Found it after investigating likely and unlikely spots with a few young students out on a geogaching adventure. Lots of heavy rain lately meant log was a little damp, but still workable. Great views from the top of the sanddunes. Tftc
Thank you for leading us to this lovely walk, we've visited Otaki Beach several times and had no idea this wetland area was here! We took a TB and left a domino.
It was a good day to go geocaching as the weather was not too hot nor raining. So nice to have a bench to fill out the log on. Picked up the travel book and dropped in a coin. Happy travels coin!
A little bit of trouble here as we had to first fins out what a cabbage tree was, then due to location the GPS was very jumpy. Dropped a t.b. signed and replaced. Tftc
TFTC! Found with the eagle eyed geokids. Got a lovely sunny day with EP NP EP FF RM JM AM.
Yet another pretty little corner in the country.
A pleasant afternoon in Otaki.
Cache found easily and in good order.
Thanks

Wow, can't believe it's been a year and a half since we were here looking for the cache when it had gone missing, time sure flies! Finally back today for an easy find Thanks for replacing.
Nice find after visiting the kite festival and listening to the Beat Girls at the beach. Great day to be at Otaki Beach. TFTC
With a friend in Otaki Beach for the day and a few nearby caches to 'sort'. All good and TFTC.
The slight elevation here gives a nice view of the stream and wetlands. Thanks for placing a cache to bring us here! Tftc
We spent the morning grabbing a few caches in Otaki. This one was a quick find, thanks very much.
A quick find in a very pleasant area with great waterside planting. Obviously a lot of hard work has been done by the volunteers. Thanks for placing a cache here.
nice and windy today dobby wanted a walk time to get a cache. tftc and the walk
Gorgeous views! Scrambled up the dunes to see the vistas from the top, and then back down again to find this cache. Took a bit of searching, and needed the clue, but found it in the end.
Found with Jesso22 while on a day off work out caching. Ended up searching every single possible place indicated by the hint. Turns out it was at the last one before we gave up. Finally got to sign the log. Thanks for the cache.
AtomsNZ and I decided to take Monday off for a girl's day out and go caching. Made our way South from Palmerston North picking whichever caches took our fancy along the way. Ended up getting 40 in total, that's a new personal best for me. Found some really good caches today, a fair few nice big containers, couple of multis and a few good walks, great girl's day!
This one took a fair amount of searching, turns out the hint didn't narrow it down all that much.... almost walked away but found it in the end. Thanks for the cache

Couldn't find this one but we did find a suspicious 'square' of wood with a pen in the middle... did a cache use to be in the middle? See photo.
Another area that is completely new to us and a short stroll into a full-on native river wetland. This place does a great job of showcasing the "Restoration Projects" that are going on everywhere these days. What a great result, this place looks awesome. SLTFTC
Found the cache, a bit cooler this morning so only admired the view for a short time TFTC
Took me much longer than it should have on a blustery day. Fortunately the muggles with me were tolerant and enjoyed the walk. TFTC
lovely location, found just before sunset. Again, found by Silbeek, I'm so lucky they come with me!
We found this cache together, she found the spot, I found the container. And such a lovely view, in a very special landscape. Inside it we found and took a travelbug: JEEP JPPBTJ. It can come with us and we will find a new place for it.
Nice cache, we had a great time here.

I really enjoy spending time in New Zealand, I just love it here. Its nature, people and adventures I am passing through. Awesome place, thank you very much for introducing to myself and for the cache itself Sorry for late logging, I have some problems with internet access during travelling.
Yeah thanks all. Left a travel bug that we found in Auckland Geocash. Geocash travel bug number JPPBTJ.
After a couple of days away from home today it was time to head back north, the weather could have done more to make the enjoyment of the drive/caching better but then you can't hope for everything when the country is getting a lot wetter than what I did.
cache in great condition
Thanks for the placement

9.50am. A good vantage point to see over the wetlands from the seat and also to sit and contemplate the spot where the cache is hidden.

DNF Went out tonight looked around possible places, I may of missed it I might have to return back sometime.
Second time here, quick find, caching on my way to Waikanaea for a meeting Thanks for the cache.
Took a bit longer to find than it should have. We took the opportunity to sit and admire the view - nice spot. Thanks for bringing me here.
Took a little bit of time to find and sign as I had to sit and admire the views while waiting for a muggle who lives adjacent to the cache to stop staring out of the window and disappear. A nice spot. TFTC
#7239. There were indeed good views of the Waitohu stream (and the Tararua's beyond). TFTC.
This proved harder than it should have, resulting in prickles and splinters! Sat down. looked around again and of course THEN I spotted it! TFTC
Pleased this was back in time for our visit today with two young cachers - thanks tmann421. Very interesting to see the good restoration work going on here, and enjoy the views from gz. A favourite for us. Took spider and NZ badge; left two scented highlighters. TFTC
Checked on cache and as suspected it was a fake found log from TreMichLan.
Have replaced container with one from another of my now archived caches and it is now a 200ml Sistema pictured on this listing.
All good to go!

Find #1605. A quick find with a friend after a nice lunch together in Otaki. She'd never been 'caching before so a new experience. Quickly found and signed. A nice spot. TFTC
