What a mission, probably a pretty spot when there is water in the waterfall but I wouldn't like to walk there through the creek when it's wet so better now when it is dry. Targetting some old caches today, tftc!
A perfect day for a drive in Mundaring and this cache has been in our sights for a very long time.
Thanks for the adventure nissan, all good here.

One of those epic caches. Some are park and grabs and some take a bit of a hike. This one took a lot of a hike, just over 8km in the end from where the powerlines cross Moola. Very warm out there, very up and down, very loose gravel in these dry conditions. Not easy. And the last 50m into GZ I chose to crash through the dense brush. I am sure this place is spectacular in the wet. Leaving via the dry creek bed was a lot easier but there was still some major ascending to do to get back to the car. Thanks for the adventure. I believe this is the 17th oldest remaining cache in WA, and one of only 19 that were placed in 2001. This is our 6th find of those 19.
Out ‘n about with m4yb grabbing a few caches.
A lovely sunny day while camp hosting at Perth Discovery Centre, so its a good opportunity to go for this one today, she did a fantastic job of navigating us to within about 400 metres of the cache, we probably could have got a lot closer but the walk was enjoyable and that last bit look gnarly! Lots of scratches as we tracked back to Max the GeoUte and blood everywhere, but no real issue! So good to have the smiley here now, making our map look a lot better and for such an oldie.
Thanks for the hide and smiley. nissan

Megawat60 and I are back camphosting at the Perth Discovery Centre campsite so today being fine, we started off for this oldie but goodie cache. Took a bit of a detour but got close enough to walk in, he went ahead, I tried another way and we caught up near GZ. Glad that he was a bit lower down the bank and spotted the cache. Now to get back up and back to the geoute. Thanks for placing this cache, nearly 20 years ago!
Thanks nissan for placing and maintaining this cache. Out and about with Barnzy12 getting a few smily faces.
We started off just after lunch today after a needed sleep in.
We managed to get all but one that we set out to achieve today only as the light was fading and the 450mt walk was just too far by the end of the day.
Have a Fav for this cache for its age and all original logbook... oh and the backdrop!

Been trying gradually finish the Mundaring hides in the last month or so. Must have just missed B12 & C10. I have the luxury of a 4x4 so could get pretty much to the spot.
We had a full afternoon in the Mundaring area planned trying to knock off a couple of walks and a few caches that peaked our interest around Mundaring Weir, mainly Geocache number 12 (GC29E6) which is one of the very few caches hidden in 2001 we haven’t yet found.
We got into Mundaring just after mid day and got home as the sun was setting, with our goals achieved.
Thanks to the COs for a great day out.
Very glad to pickup this cache. One of the few remaining Nissan caches left for us to find and great to see another original logbook still in the wild.
Add FP. I reckon you could get a 2wd (Mazda) to within 600m of this cache and have a relatively easy walk in or a soccer mum car with a bit more clearance will take you within 50m.

This one was tough for ‘us’. I confess that it was all PP1 I could not do it without him. Well worth the effort he put in though. TFTC Nissan
We headed out for another day up in the hills and surrounding areas to add a few more smilies, happy to say we came up trumps here today with a nice quick find, our coordinates were spot on, we had a find by night here, we could hear the trickle of water as it softly fell down the falls. The cache is still in excellent condition and we are very thankful to have such a gem ticked off, a favourite point for this, we will most definitely get back here in daylight hours to explore TFTC
Great adventure.
Dragged my brother out of the house and the gps said 3.7km directly through the bush. We were short on time so I chose not to take any tracks because I though it was going to take longer. Well the bush was so thick in some places we were on our bellies crawling through the dirt just to get through. 360m out from GZ going down a very steep hill my brother rolls his ankle. Great. We still continue down to the bottom of this deep valley, and follow a dried up stream through the thick scrub until we eventually get there. Great spot. Took forever to find the cache, co-ordinates were way off (both of them! guess it must have been all the granite interfering?), but I did find it as I told my brother to start climbing back up and onto the last track that we crossed over. Took travel bug. I find my way back to my brother, and I chose the most sensible way to go on this random track, and it was basically like climbing a rocky mountain, and then the track just turned into an opening (see picture if you want) and we had to bush bash once again out of the valley, with my brother yelling every time he slightly twisted his ankle (yes we had no firstaid or real means of communication as cellphones wouldn't work that far out). We came across some random tracks, and even though I had no maps I had a rough idea that we may come across North Ledge then I would know how to get home. Luckily I chose all the right paths, and when I found North Ledge I knew exactly where I was and I followed the trails home. All up 11.2km. Great couple of hours!

Great morning to be out in the hills hunting geocaches.
After around 9km of walking over 3.5hrs I had 9 finds.
This was my fourth find. Parked a few hundred metres past North Ledge as the road wasn't passable with my 2WD. A 2km or so walk down to GZ for a quick find once here.
Wonderful area, must be nice when waters flowing. Fav point for this one.

Nice walk through Bellevue national park. Bit of a trek through the shrubs to find cache.
Drove down O'Connor rd as far as we could and then walked in. Probably a 10km round trip from here in. Great cache - thank you! Look for the red lid
Out on a family day adventure surrounding the Mundaring Weir, this was one of the caches we found along the way Found our way through the maze of trails to this one & left the car about 200m away were we headed towards GZ on foot... Quickly got to the right level & the kids told us there was nothing there, but Jase decided to have a closer look & found the well hidden cache [^]
TFTC nissan We had a great adventure getting to this awesome spot, shame there was only a trickle going over the falls! Cache was in good condition.

I had completed the caches closer to Mundaring a few weeks ago and was back out to finish off Chwiliwr's series which left this and the one nearby as the two remaining to be picked up.
Parked the car at North Ledge and walked in from there along the tracks.
The whole area was subject to a Prescribed Burnoff last week so wasn't too sure if it there would be anything left to find. The area was still "warm" with logs and areas still smoking.
This is a great spot, would be worth an overnight camp in winter when the creek/waterfall is running and the rain has washed/settled down the ash. Nice view and quiet. Cache was exactly where it was supposed to be and fully intact and undamaged.
Took Firnsy's token and garfield(could relate to the hungry/cranky comment) and replaced with a pre-decimal penny and a halfpenny, both 1955.
TFTC and bringing me to such a peaceful spot.

After mountain biking at the Camel Farm this morning I had a leave pass this afternoon, and still had the bike and the 4x4 so decided to make the most of it.
I had been meaning to do this for a very long time, but had thought from looking at the maps that it was going to be very difficult to reach. Well it turns out that it was only about 10 minutes by bike to get here!
The new cache nearby was the push I needed to get me out here. This was the first one I found out of the two, and after taking probably not the best access for the last 90 m I arrived at GZ and made a very quick and easy find. I grabbed the 2x2GBAS and Water in a Cenote travel bugs.
Thanks for the cache nissan!

Bit of a trek for this one ...
I had noticed that this cache hadn't been logged for a couple of years and decided that it was time someone paid it a visit, and that that someone would be me. My muggle mate Jay tagged along. We walked 12+ Ks all up, and picked up a couple of other caches along the way, but this one was the main objective. We got rained on, did some light bush-bashing and some much heavier bush-bashing - especially the last 60 or so metres into the cache. Our final approach was from below, although we had initially approached from above, having followed the creek down from a track about 400 metres upstream.
The cache was found quickly using the published coordinates. We had some lunch and spent about an hour here watching and listening to the waterfall, watching an eagle circle overhead and just soaking up the ambience of this place. This is a gem of a location and so glad that I came here at this time of the year.
Jay was impressed by the fact that no-one else had been here for 2+ years ... no beer bottles here as we had noticed at the previous cache we visited.
Signed the log. Dropped off a couple of TBs and a path tag. Thanks for the hide Nissan and for bringing us to this place. A favourite for the location and an excellent caching experience.

Whilst Mrs Blingg was finding her way around an orienteering course at Fred Jacoby Park, I decided to walk and collect this cache and set the TB free that has been lanquishing there for over 12 months . Apart from 400m of bushbashing the other 3.5km was on gravel tracks with big fallen trees and deep washaways to get over. There was only a trickle coming over the waterfall today butthe one upstream from "Rock around Mundaring" had a good flow over it

Epic
Should have left myself more time - was on late shift and thought I'd go out this morning to have a look. Was within metres of it after a pretty epic journey to get there (this isn't the first time I've looked for this one, and given up due to closed off tracks) but simply ran out of time to have a thorough look.
Will pop back at some stage - well, there's no popping back about it - it is a fair effort to get there. The track was massively eroded and lots of shifting pepples and gravel.
A great spot though. I will return!

A beautiful day for a walk and a fantastic place for a cache. This is what caching is all about, taking you to special places you wouldn't otherwise get to. L: TB, TN. TFTC.

We walked here from the previous cache through the bush and found the cache OK. Container is in good condition.
Thanks for the cache.

I walked here from the previous cache through the bush and found the cache OK. Container is in good condition. Found the track on the way back and would not even consider a 4wd could get near the cache with the amound of washouts on the hill slopes and large trees across the track. One of them now has a drop of 3ft with no way around due to rocks across the edges of the track although the M/C brigade seem to be using the track OK.
Thanks for the cache.

Hot day - 36 degrees. 17.7km in total.

Found with kfc01 lmcml and Lucas ...4wding, bushwalking, rockclimbing... This cache had it all TFTH SL kids swapped a few trinkets
I passed close by on Saturday after finishing North Ledge 21 and Rock'n Round Mundaring but thought I could get closer by car, The short answer to that one was no. So today I came back and walked in from Pumping station No 1, following the pipe line most of the way. I missed the easy way into the cache and ended up pushing through the bush for the last 70m. An easy find was made after climbing down from the top of the waterfall and then working my way up to GZ where I spotted the red lid of the cache. The clouds were turning very dark and it just started to spit with rain as I signed the log, Fortunately the rain held off as my waterproof jacket was in the car. I spotted the easy path back out to the track and found out where I had missed it on my way in.
Thanks for the cache and the hunt, nothing exchanged.

A 110 weeks since last found?!...WOW....feels like a FTF!!
Like Bear Left, i decided to go for a walk today and also like him, i found "Rock'n Round Mundaring" on the way. From Mundaring Weir rd just before it crosses the Helena River just downstream from the dam, its a very enjoyable walk along the pipe access road and parts of the Mundi Biddi bike trail (keep an eye/ear open for cyclists with the leading member yelling "Walker!!" from the top of his lungs) On a perfect Winter day like today, i think its a far better option than crawling along stony tracks in a 4WD of which half are closed anyway.
As you come to the spot where the pipes cross the creek, bear right (Bear Left bore Bear Right too) and continue to follow the track. As your GPS indicates 70 or so metres to your left, continue walking as the trail eventually turns left and brings you close to the top of the rocky outcrop where the cache is situated.
What a fantastic spot, and although there was very little water around, its a magic spot, with shade and moss covered rocks, a magic spot. As i started scouting around for a likely hiding spot i saw a pencil sharpener perched on a rock all sun bleached it was. I looked and sure enough the cache was only just below it, if Bear left had left this here on his visit 110 weeks ago, i am gobsmacked that it was still there and not blown away or knocked off by a roo or something...unbelievable!
Anyway...all up a very enjoyable find, and i sat quite awhile enjoying this great spot, before departing on a pretty easy going walk back to the car. Many thanks for the cache in this awesome spot.

We had a lot of fun in our 4wd, following tracks through the bush... Closest we came was about 1.8km from the cache.
There are a lot of closed roads in the area. One -- heading in a likely direction -- had been "opened" by other drivers; we did not want to follow a bad example.
When we found a track leading back to the bitumen -- we were on the wrong side of locked gates! Ended up driving out via someone's driveway. Happens all the time, they told us.

I'd always written this off as a fourby-required cache, but today I needed a walk and it's almost at the top of the "nearest unfound" list now, so I had a closer look.
It's only a few km from Mundaring Weir Road, and there's a big track (almost a road) leading most of the way there! Easy!
It's not a bad walk at all. I detoured to find Rock'n'Round Mundaring on the way (another one I'd neglected to look at) and it was still only 4.2km from the road, and only hilly for the last bit.
The falls were only a trickle, but it had that crisp 'ozoney' feel anyway, especially as late in the day as it was. An easy find, of course, within a couple of metres of my averaged GZ.
I followed the creek out to the pipeline road, which the Bibbulmun weaves in and out of, for an easy and fairly flat walk back to the car.
No swaps.

Decided to get up to Mundaring before 0700. Had a breckky with the Kangaroos at the picnic area on the NE side of the dam. Lovely cool start to the day.
Then headed out to walk to this cache. Bit of bush bashing at the end to get this one. Great cache.
Took the "TARZAN" figure. Left the Hungry "Garfield" Cat model. The cache container was very damp inside. Probably condensation!
Thanks Nissan for a good cahe

No need for 4x4 - came in from below on the mountain bike, via Glen Forrest Drive and the Pipeline track. Cache not difficult to find thanks to colour of lid. A great location - waterfall running merrily. Long climb back up to GF Drive - 500 ft up in just under a km. Got help. See pics.
Took a beaded hand-made doll, left a Cadbury's tape measure.

I walked in today with a friend who is new to geocaching, this was his third for the day. We walked over from Hewetts hut on the Bibbulmun track. This walk took us off the track and e followed a compass bearing of 25 deg straight through the bush, down hill across streams, up hill and then once we found the cache we returned to the hut for morning coffee and snacks.
We walked about 12 klm this morning and all just to pick up the travel bug. We had a great walk on a lovely morning.

Can't believe that this one was last found over 18 months ago. It is close to Perth and there is a great road (no vehicles allowed) all the way to GZ. The walk is only a 7 km round trip. Dropped off "Half a Gig" TB to hopefully entice some more people to get out there. TN. Thanks for the great cache Allan & Clint.
A usual Nissan cache, check your suspension, make sure you have a couple of spare tyres, tools, and puncture repair kit. On driving in I took the right turn to north ledge, this is the hard way and had to take the chicken track up a couple of hills. Anyway got there in the end, parked within 60 metres of the cache, and bush bashed the rest of the way. Looking forward to the next Nissan cache.
Found cache... this is what it is all about - an excellent cache, tough and challenging, as well.
Took 'Bali' keyring - left 'Tarzan' and our calling card. Thanks. 10 out of 10!!! 15:15

Finally found after many wrong turns along the way, and passing (again) a couple of TLC's. The track is not very good, and I don't imagine that it gets graded very often. T: a computer disk brush, L: a keyring and placed the log book in a old zip-lock bag that I found in my cache bag. Thanks for the cache, the hunt, the fun, the exercise and the 4wd'ing.
Looked around for a while and then spotted the red insole. Knew it was close then. Middle of winter, who thought it would be a hot day! 19 degrees, no wind, sunny and walking in from North Ledge, don't do that in the summer! The water was running, lovely waterfall. T:N L:Diary
Nice rainy day but what better to be out in the bush driving around looking for plastic boxes. The track to this cache wasn't showing on my GPS so it was hit and miss for awhile and some back tracking till eventually I found the right track and led me to the waterfall and cache.
Access on the tracks is easy if a little wet and muddy but some sections do require high clearance.
Took - Fergus F Frog
Left - Eeyore
Thanx for the hunt Nissan.

Walked down black boy hill and foud the red insole of a shoe.neaded to watch out with little children.found aprox 12.30pm on a great sunny day.took small red/cream egg [kinde]and left tube with alian in it.
Too easy! Found at 14:10.
Well, with the aid of my trusty motorbike, getting there was not too much of a drama. Rode to the bottom of the falls, and walked up from there. The last descent is a bit of a doozy, though.
With the aid of the helpful photos, locating the cache was not too bad either. I managed to walk straight over the top of it heading for the co-rdinates and caught a glimpse of it as I looked down. I was very happy - could have been anywhere in the rocks there.
Was no water flowing, only some mud left from hte rains last week. May have to come back again after some serious rain - great spot, I did not realise there was a waterfall there.

Jeez! you do need a 4x4 for this one! We came in on Moola, then slip slid straight down Pine Hill, turned right at the bottom. A further 458 m down turned left and went up another extreme hill before coming out on the XRDS at the top. Turned right there and went down until the wheel travel wasn't enough (which is a lot...) Walked in 200 metres to the falls. To add our Ps and Qs we also averaged (256 times!)the location to get S31° 56.527 E116° 08.437. Nice cache, we added a Houdo doll and took nought but awe at the capabilities of our Nissan! Thanks, this cache has been so near yet so far for some months now and to finally bag it is sweet.
Found this one after riding my mountain bike from the hotel and after visiting Rock-n Round Mundaring on the way, good spot to visit stayed for a while and had some lunch and took some pic's I will post later.
Took a disk and left some other stuff and Fergus F frog and then rode back out.

Found with MAD106. We took a couple of Digimon cards and a Yowie, and replaced with a dinosaur toy. Great morning.
Brought along a visitor from Northern Ireland. His first time 4WDing and first time caching. Everyone had a great time - thanks
Found it - around 3.30pm - enjoyed the 4WDing to get there. Fortunately it hadn't been wet otherwise I dont think we would have made it through a couple of steep slippery sections. Well worth the trip. We took a coffee sachet and Hamburgler for relocation. We left Craig Yowie.
Would have enjoyed finding some boiling water, and a cup for the coffee ha ha. Only kidding, I had my own in the car!!!

We looked and found it..What a day..We thought we would just walk in and walk out. Easy you may say but it turned out to be harder then we thought. First we tried to find the shortest way in,which meant driving along every track and road on the way there. The closest we got was 2.1km so we continued on towards the Weir. That was about 3km in (but looked flattest) so on we went and turned down the North Ridge Road. Followed our noses and the GPS and managed to get within 1.2km before a track up the hill made it to risky to take a Magna being just a normal road sedan. From here we walked up the hill until we turned left into another track. This placed us within 380 meters but directly though the bush. Looking carefuly for snakes and making as much foot noise to warn them of us coming we walked straight down the hill to the river. Then came the fun part of finding the cache...30mins later we found it but it was not where we thought it would be. The GPS was hopping all over the place and a fix was tricky. I had to keep walking away and moving back in from different directions untill it just seemed that the same area kept crossing in my screen...The red insole helped lots too. I took a few reading when we were resting and averaged them out we came to think that S 31.56.529 and E 116.08.439 was more correct so perhaps have these in your GPS as a second opinion. Also as a good verbal descripion the Cache is on the Left of the Waterfall (dry at the time for us) and about 6 meters above the stream if you approach from downstream. We loved the walk and it was challenging. Also we recommend it as one of the more interesting ones to see. I think it would be better to walk in from the Mundaring Weir unless you have a 4WD...Beware of ticks..we are still picking them off us 24 hours later..little buggers..Lyn Pat and Nathan
Well, we finally found it on the second attempt. On the first attempt I got to the location but having left the Geocache instructions in the car (didn’t print the pictures anyway – without which it VERY hard to find) I had absolutely no clue where to look and the GPS was a little jumpy as well.
Be that as it may, we came back the second time and found it. (GPS indicated 6m from cache) Thanks to handivan65 for leaving the little marker! It made it a lot easier. When we found the cache, I realised that I would have never found it on the first try no matter how long I searched! It was a hot day to walk from the Weir (about 6km round trip) but very enjoyable. Nice spot. We took the WANDERING MINSTREL and the Mirror. The Minstrel has told me that he would like to travel south and his wish is our command. Watch for him appearing south soon. We left two floppy disks with pictures of the area on them. The two disks have identical pictures so if you forget to bring the camera, grab a disk.

Found the cache after about 40 minutes of searching the rocks. Wish we'd taken the photo with us! For those interested in comparing GPS units, our Garmin Etrex identified the cache as being about 11m from the posted coordinates. Saw the travel bug but could not help it on its way. Made an entry in the note book, took the Pig In The Garden memo pad and left a pocket mirror. Cache was in good condition. Replaced rock and left a marker (won't need so much sole-searching next time). Had some 4WD drive fun on the way back too. Thanks for setting it up. We had a great time finding it. Ray and Andrew.
12:00 midday.
Phew! It's hot! Especially after a walk from Mundaring Weir! Thanks, guys, it's great leopard country. Saw a couple of roos fairly close, and several more at a distance.
Took a toy. Left a notepad and a Wandering Minstrel.
Tip for walkers... Try to figure out which side of the river you need to be on in advance!
Oh, and if you leave a car at Mundaring, make sure it's secured like Fort Knox, or leave it unlocked with nothing in it...
