Best view. Two for the price of one. Great spot but one heck of a climb for a 73 yr old. Thank you, loved it.
We are on a family holiday to NZ for a couple of weeks. First stop Whangarei. Only getting limited caches but happy with any given this occurs in the the spare time I have.We headed to Ocean Beach so some could have a swim. I was amused by many Copper butterflies in the Muehlenbeckia. I headec up the hill and past the last tourists and then hunted. Wasn't until i pulled grass (in the obvious spot) that I found the cache.TFTC kenny897
Find #693Found while walking Te Araroa - new Zealands long pathway from Cape Reinga to Bluff. Thank you to all the cache owners who place and maintain these caches, and thank you to all the people who help me and others on the way. Lovely views from here, interestingly the beach north of here was more or less empty but the main beach was packed. Quick find and sign here, looking forward to climbing the heads tomorrow. Cache is in good condition
Great walk to here on a windy wild day.
We will stay in camper overnight.
The hint misled us, but we persevered and found the cache.

The weather was grey and overcast with rain threatening, so we made an early start to explore this area. A lovely beach which we almost had to ourselves. Great photo opportunity from gz. TFTC
Hot climb up the sand in the middle of the day! Then a prickly dance to get over to the cache, easily found and yes a beautiful view!
No luck today with this one. Probably found the right place, but not the cache. Maybe we have found just wrong place but... after nearly and hour here, just nothing.
A quick return visit to Ocean beach while out to see a kiwi release.
Signed the log on a previous visit but forgot to log the find. Thanks

Am Ocean Beach den herrlichen Strand genossen und den Surfern bei Flut und tollen wellen zugeschaut. Am oberen ende der Sanddüne hat man eine nochmal so gute Aussicht auf die Bay.
Problemlos gefunden.
Enjoyed the beautiful beach at Ocean Beach and watched the surfers at high tide and great waves. At the upper end of the sand dune you have an even better view of the bay.
Easily found.

Pretty sure this was not the way we were supposed to take to go along the beach, but after a long, tough climb up the sand, we realized we were near the cache, which was a quick find. Getting down, however, was not as easy as we had hoped. Thanks!
Found on day 17 of my TA thru-hike. Beautiful spot, but as it is low tide I kinda wish I had taken the beach route!
Awesome say for a climb up here...so clear today you can see forever ..nice that someone has replaced the cache...thanks
Wgat a stunner of a day. We have been traveling around the north and stopped in to my sister's place. Requisitioned her car and popped over the hill to find this. We have attempted this twice before but always seemed to be missing in action. No problem today. Thanks for the placement
Back up in Whangarei for the weekend, doing a bit of Coastal sightseeing with a friend. We walked up the beach to this viewpoint and made a quick find of the cache at GZ. Awesome views either direction from here - favourite point added! TFTC!
After competing in the Wild Kiwi event here at the Whangarei Heads yesterday, I decided that today it would be good to have a more gentle exercise jaunt and the two remaining green dots at Ocean Beach looked very attractive.
I wasn't sure what I would find here as a lot of finds just mention a rock with some glue, some just say found and there were several recent DNFs. I was pleasantly surprised therefore, once I scrambled up the sandhill and made my way to GZ, to actually find a cache container, complete with log. Seems Tiki Tour had kindly placed a replacement container here a couple of years ago and it is still there safe and secure now. Signed log and replaced as found. TFTC

What a great view to both sides of the beach from up here. Unfortunately, we had no luck spotting any dolphins. Tftc!
Was out this way again today so logging the find as the owner seems content with finders logging having found only the rock at gz. A lot of people on the beach today. TFTC
The GPS took to the exact spot co ords very good ....the hint tied up with all the was given right down to the barbed wire at the base the stone was there with what was left of the cache....there was no log to sign I have signed the stone to prove I was there and found it ...I guess the cache needs a new container and log .....Would you please let me know when this has been attended to so I can log as a find ....I am not sure when I will be returning as I am from the BoP a good 5 hours drive away thanks ...Regards Macwatt
Walked up dunes after watching a pod of dolphins playing in the surf. At gz found Totara post with barbed wire and stone with remains of glue. Has cache gone? Signed name on back anyway.
I'm not sure if I found this one or not. Like other cachers I found a suspicious rock with marks on it that could have been left from gluing a cache to it. I will keep a watch on this cache with a view as to whether or not I should log it as found. Thanks for a fun walk up the sand hill. Great views from up here. The kids enjoyed rolling down again
we went towards the fence posts where gorse has overgrown only to trace our steps back with a few prickles
Found a conspicuously unnatural stone but no cache attached Perhaps this one has now gone walkies?

Found while taking a early morning walk on the beach. Good thigh workout getting to the top of the sand!. Tftc
So with the nice weather this afternoon and all the jobs done at home I decided to jump in the car and head to the beach- and figured I would grab some caches while I was here- and on my way home.
Got seriously sand blasted while getting to this cache but it was worth it Had to be quick as there was a lot of muggles around.

Managed to get the wife and toddler up the sand dunes to the top stunning views to be had indeed. Made a quick find here! TFTC
Went there after a long walk to Kauri Mountain and back so it was quite a hard slog in the soft dune sand However an easy find Log book dry enough to sign but a bit damp Tftc
Here for the annual ultimate frisbee tournament.
Quick find with a few other people wondering what a friend and I were talking about.
Thanks!

Nice easy find. No barb wire though. Great views from up here. Worth the walk TFTC.
Despite picking a day when we thought there would be no muggles, there were muggles sitting near GZ when we walked along.. So we went for the cache further along and when we came back the muggles were gone, though their rubbish was not gone with them
Visiting NZ from the US. Great views from near the cache site. This is a great beach. TFTH!
Went out to the beach on a very beautiful Easter Friday. Lots of people enjoying the beach, watching the Northland Rescue Helicopter complete a rescue practice was a bonus! TFTC.
Thanks for bringing us out for this great view!

Before heading home today, we thought we come over and check out Ocean Beach. This cache was the incentive we needed for a beach walk, a dune climb, and an ultimately sandy run back down it. Thanks for bringing us here.
Found with kids and kids friends who enjoyed the challenge, especially in the way back down
Just killing a couple of caches to minimise the pain for the muggle hiking gang turning up sometime soon. A quick hop and skip through the dunes before heading off to hike the coast line south. . Good old fashioned quality at GZ, funny how its still there out lasting its purpose . . Nice
Yussss. Found with six good friends who were very excited. Here for an annual ultimate frisbee tournament named after the beach. Thanks!
Despite of some beach muggles we coud manage to find this little box and to log.

Another awesome view from high up at ocean beach. Never been caching in my bikini before but for a beach cache on such a beautiful day it had to be done! TFTC

A nice view from the top of the dune, amazed at how much quicker it was coming down than going up! Thanks for another cache in a lovely spot
Decided to tackle this after the event walk to the bream head. By this stage, the feet were soft and heels sore so we ditched the shoes in the car. Got to the top of the first hill, before I stepped on a thorn and even Dr Nick couldn't get it out so up I got and battled on to the cache. Then Dr Nick stood on a gorse prickle and we were even, both hobbling along to GZ. Found the cache no probs. TFTC and laughter along the way!
Nice quick find, again, new location. Gorse in the feet around here though as we left our footwear at the car,
Good exercise ascending the dune. Small puddle in cache. signed wet log with waterproof pen. It dried out quite a bit in the sunny windy day, which revealed that I'd skipped a page when I signed.
Contemplated a further 1 km walk to the north for another cache and went for it.

Nice easy find. Cache very very wet with free water in the container. Dried it out best we could. TFTC.
The girls of the team had just dropped the boys of the team off at the start of the Bream Track walkway with the intention of spending the night at the hut on the way. While they headed south we wandered north along the beach and up the dunes. Amazing views and a great place for a cache. The extra camo has come attached from the cache so I just replaced it on top of the cache to keep the cache safe. Thanks for bringing us here.

We climbed - we hunted - but no cache. Thanks kenny897 for allowing us to log this cache. Wonderful beach.
This was a puffing walk in the too hot yellow sand. After the hunt went in the see to cool down. Xafier was a bit scared, but Xento managed to swim a lot.
