Logs
Playford Scoutssearched high and low for approx 20 minutes but could not locate it
Found on a nice walk with travellinbees, Locus Cache, LiB and GTA 5. We had a play on the flying fox before we started our walk. We found the original cache container with the Z painted on top out in the open only a few metres from the path. Then we found the water tight seal of the container a few metres away from where we found the cache. Luckily LiB had previous found this cache and we ventured down to where she remembered it to be when she found it. There I found the recent throw down. I removed the recent throw down. I have placed the logbook from the recent throw down into the original cache container. The cache is in good condition now. The logbook that was in the original cache container is a bit wrinkled from age and moisture but still ok so I signed that one. Should be good for another 10 years if it doesn’t get left out in the open much more. Thanks for the adventure.
The joys of shift work, yes, up early, paid my dues on-line, quick drive today, all before leaving for work.
Nice walk along this pathway, great bird life this early in the morning. Air smelt fresh and clean, filling the lungs..
Climbed down to this one, could see a nice hidey hole, but nothing, plenty of small rocks that could be used to cover a container. But came up empty.
Continued down and along the cliff, checking every rock and crack. Nothing.
Got to the bottom and hunted around. Checked previous logs and pictures. Ok it is up there where I first looked. But then noted in the past it had been moved to a 'safer' area. But had been placed back again where it suppose to have been.
Rant:- by moving a cache, does not make it safer. Actually more dangerous. Future finders will spend more time looking for it and put themselves in more danger hunting for it over the rock face.
Ok hunted all over this rock structure, even in among a dead bastard prickle bush, leaving plenty of Claret DNA behind. Down, Up, Down, Up, Across, Back, Down and among the rocks in case it had fallen off the cliff. Nothing found
Hmm, not here. Took a few pics etc and sent them to a previous finder. Who confirmed I had looked where he had found it.
Wandered back to the car and found a replacement container. Always good to keep a Z cache in play. Back to GZ and another climb down.
Placed container at GZ and confirmed location from previous finder.
783 days since last find.

Really really hard terrain my 10 year old did it for me because I wouldn't have been able to get down there
Tftc. Ended up too far down but as we were bailing back up we found it on the climb. Stay safe with this one!
Today I returned to para wirra after coming here yesterday for a walk near by.
I climbed down the rock face till I got to HZ here but nothing was to be found so had a read of the logs and some newbie thought it was a good idea to move the cache so back up to find where they put it, found it then replaced back down where it should be hidden

Slightly re located as it was dangerously close to a rock face so just brought it up a higher level awesome find just not safe
The three of us were in Para Wirra today for a picnic and bush walk. This was a nice walk and Mr Tardis Mini Tardis and a few cousin muggles headed very carefully down to the cache zone.
We were extra careful and Mr Tardis reached out and grabbed the cache. A really nice spot.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Zytheran.

Like all Z caches, the last 10m is always the hardest part. I stood up top looking down and soon spotted the item in the photograph. After a bit of climbing later, I was at GZ and had the cache in hand. Just don't look any further down, the drop gets even more extreme...

Found in the pouring rain while racing to not get locked in by the rangers! With the gates being locked at 4:30 we had to get back to the car in 16 mins, so it was a quick scramble down from the main track through the rocks and bushes to near the base of the rock at GZ. It was raining but the rocks were reasonably grippy, and with the trusty Magnum boots on it was a careful ascend to GZ where the cache was spotted. Log signed then kept ascending up, which looked a lot easier than descending from where I started.
Always good to get a Z cache - love these types of caches.
Thanks Zytheran for another great cache. Fav point for the great location!

You’d think after finding over 100 Z caches I would not be surprised at
1: bleeding
2: spiky bushes
3: rocky clambers
4: a sinking “it’s not really there is it?” feeling.
5: a balancing few moments to retrieve and sign a log with a heart rate was twice normal.
And of course
How does he find these places?

On a forecasted hot 38°C day, jesswrigley and I tried to escape to Para Wirra Conservation Park as early as a Sunday sleepin would allow, and target a cluster of traditional caches in the middle of the park. It was a combination of some drives and hikes around the area, with many lizards scamping around the place, but thankfully no long and slender animals about. An interesting park, but think this is more akin to the colder months than the hotter months, as it was looking fairly dry today. After a few hours and a loop, we escaped back to the car, and headed to the Christmas event that was taking place.
This was one of my targets for today, as I had eyed this off a few times for a fun adventure and challenge. The hardest part was bush bashing through with leaving the track, but managed to find our own way down to within a few metres of GZ, and then headed up. With the appropriate grippy shoes, I didn't seem to have too many issues. At the bullseye target, I could see the famous "Z" cache in front of me, and assuming the right position, the cache was extracted. I noted that this cache had more than a year of unfound love, but in the last week, it had a few finders. No matter. However upon reviewing the logbook, the last official finder was Hurtle on 23/06/2018? Refer to the logbook photos? Comments like "found some of it" seems a little confusing, since the cache and logbook were all in tip-top shape? Perhaps some cache confusion with others? Going by the physical logbook, that is 533 days [1.46 years] of unfound love!
Anyways, we had a few obligatory photographs here, and with the cache placed back, we returned from above along a different way back to the track (I think it was easier). Thanks Zytheran for the cache placement and maintenance!

Superman_22 and I out and about geocaching. Came across this and thought to myself, nope I’m not game to try this, without someone who know what they are doing. We just look down and then look at each other, nope nope. Another day with others next time.
Unfortunately DNF.
The cache should be there somewhere, but I ran out luck and time.
And terrain was too hard for me, as I had a baby on my back.
Will try it again after a few years.

It has taken 8 years and 3 weeks to find the secret base.... The D/T was needed a cpl of years ago for my grid, but now it is my 22nd find of this DT combo.
Getting down to the point, from the track, where the ascent was to begin was harder than the last 5m! lol
Grabbed the Starman to come out here early today for a walk in the bush, to find some long published cache.

Heading for GZ,
as usual all I had read was the name of the cache,
and noted the D/T rating [:o]
Standing on a rocky eyrie I could see that the remaining 20 metres to GZ were looking like T3 territory
'Bout 10 minutes later I had reached the cave
From there it was just a short stroll to GZ
Now I was standing on another rocky eyrie looking down into the gorge [:o]
I scrambled around the big boulders to the base of the 'cliff'.
I was at GZ again, but about 10 metres lower and still couldn't see a cache !!
That could only mean one thing !!
Yup !! The cache is about 5 metres above me [:o]
The way to GZ looks a lot nicer from down here though
From the top it looks like lemming territory [:o]
So up I scrambled to the likely hiding spot.
There was the cache a couple of metres from me,
laughing at me ... taunting me ... daring me [:o]
Right time to employ the TOTTs,
I had two of them with me
I call them arms
One for hanging on for dear life with,
and the other to retrieve the cache ... just
Lying on me stomach to provide more friction against the rocks,
I went to open the cache and saw the mark of "Z" on the lid [:o]
I should have known !!
Logvook signed,
the cache was placed back.
And all done without anything falling to the bottom of the 'cliff'

OMG! That was tough. 4.5 for terrain doesn't seem quite enough. It's a 6 at least. But we really enjoyed the challenge and for that it's worth a favourite point. Tftc.
What a great Autumn day for a walk around the Para Wirra Recreation Park. I was joined by Anymules, Mrs. SA Sewer Rat and Doctor Owl. Many, many kilometers covered in the pursuit of the smilie and not much of it was on a level track. In fact most where just very steep indeed. Only two of the holy trinity today, blood, a fall, more blood, even more blood and did I mention the blood. Pretty much a standard day's caching. [:o)]
One of the target caches for the day. One that in fact will complete S.A. Sewer Rats first D/T loop. Unlike the photo we took the from above approach. Reasonably steep and not much other than Acacia Bastard Bushes to use for support. Needless to say the arms started leering blood on the way down. [B)] I was lucky enough to first down onto the ledge and able to find the cache. After the customary selfie with the cache it was time to make our way back up to the path. A less bloody route was found. [:o)]

Owl was persuaded to come on an adventure with 3 other disreputable cachers (which should have been her first clue that her legs would hurt by the end of the day!) Owl had already looked at the details for this cache (which nearly had her pulling the plug on the whole day!) Fortunately, there were two magnificent geotools to deploy near GZ and with lots of moral support and encouragement they were able to find the cache and fill a Rat's D/T grid. Owl forgot to bring the customary celebratory chocolate, but there were congratulations all round all the same.
Woo Hoo! And other -Z- smiley on my map. This was the selected target for the day as it was he last D/T combination required for SA Sewer Rats to fill her grid.
But for me, it was just another great -Z- cache location and hillside scramble.
Thanks for the cache Zytheran. Found on 20 Mar 2018 at 11:09 am. Find #6104.

This was my targeted cache for today.
I needed this Z cache to fill my D/T grid.
So An Owl, A Starfish and a Mule.
We set off on our adventure in Para Wirra.
I got to with in meters of the cache, and deployed the two Geotools.
Cache stamped and returned to it's hiding place. Tftc

"Z" That was some sensational rock cliff climbing with my 5yr old. What a find!' Loved this one, beautiful views, also found our zen.
This was the fifth cache for the day & by far the most exhilarating. Drove in ($10 or $8 concession) & glad I did. I walked 12km by the days end. The distance wasn't an issue, it was the terrain at this cache. The moss on the track above combined with a boulder slightly protruding from beneath the damp soil & my terrible choice of footwear had me slip from a standing position before I had begun... off to a great start - NOT!
Brushed myself off & set about following the compass... 30+ metres that way. Yep, okay it's just down there, I can do that. Now I'm at the point I thought this cache would be and still another 15 or 20 metres to go... down there. I followed the compass needle, taking great care with every step, making sure I had several points of contact because this is out of the norm for me. Finally I'm as far as I can safely go and thankfully that is far enough. Clinging to anything solid I made the stretch & then saw that familiar "Z". Well that explains this 4.5* terrain... I should have checked that first.
Stopped just long enough to sign & replace the cache then snap 2 or 3 photos. Amazed & very thankful the 50 year old knees didn't give out, they certainly felt worn out after the climb back up.
Ama-Z-ing!!!

Out and about on this fine day searching for this one to help refill my D/T chart. A fun and adventure this one was! Many thanks!
Was with friends and we tried to find it, had some of us at the top of cliffs and others at the bottom. We probably just weren't reading it right - we usually spot and find them pretty well.
Still had fun with it, and I got some awesome photos around the area once I'd given up and others were still searching.

Found on a caching afternoon with Mr Froghoppin.
We walked and walked and walked...
and climbed and scrambled and rocked!
There was a bit of a trail on the hillside,
thought maybe a geowalrus had rolled down recently [:o)]

A rare Zytheran traditional, this one has been on our to do list for quite some time, set off with Mattycat to cross this one off the list after a check out of GZ we soon found the right direction and after a short climb a bit of a stretch an the cachee was in hand, awesome views as we sat in the base to make plans on our next cache assault TFTC Zytheran
With a few spare hours today I found myself able to get out and tackle a few of my caching goals for the year. One of which being to finish my D/T grid. Since this park contains a high terrain traditional that I needed to fill a spot I made my way to Para Wirra Recreation Park for an afternoon hike.
This cache was my goal for the day, needing a D/T combination of 1.5/4.5. It was a bit of an adventure to get to GZ, as I initially took the wrong track. This meant some considerable bush bashing down and across the river (which fortunately was dry). Spent far too long rummaging around the various cliffs until I wandered right down to the bottom in frustration. Once there, it was obvious where I needed to be, and after carefully scurrying down, the cache was in hand shortly thereafter. Amazing views up here as the sun was slowly going down behind the westerly ridge. Thanks for the D/T combo and the great hiking experience Zytheran! Another favourite point heading your way.
This was find number 2 of 4 for the night for me. TFTC Zytheran!

Good thing I didn't try this with the kids, cliffs were a little hairy in spots. Good find though!
Couldn't find a good path, got bitten and stabbed all the way down the cliff face and didn't even find it in the end.
Another tick on or dt chart we needed and we really enjoyed the walk on a warm day. Came down from the top and turned out to be just right on my direction and where to go. Also helped I could see some foot prints and a small geo track. Loving this area thankyou for bringing me here. Tftcsl

School holiday caching with the kids. Sent hubby to have a look as very difficult terrain and we stayed up top to watch and wait! Thankfully there was a pencil when he found it as it would have been a long trek back to get a pen. TFTC!

This one's been on the hitlist since it was published but we've just never got around to visiting...it takes a 'free entry' day to get people into Parra Wirra, including us, so we made the most of it today! Having met Freddo nearby, we expected a tough approach from the top, but found the terrain reasonably easy - easier than quite a few of the Z caches that we've found in the past. It was down to Mr O to do the tough stuff, leaving Mrs O and the kiddies at the top. Great spot TFTC Z.
This was my first introduction to a Zytheran cache and it was an adventurous climb. We left geokids at the top and fought through the prickles to retrieve the booty. Looking forward to more hides like this!
Took three trackables to move along that had only just been placed inside.

This is one of the easier Z caches I've done but was an easy introduction for Team Beenz.

Our favourite cache so far! This cache had us scaling rocks and crawling in small holes in the wrong area !! Even Geo dog made it to gz which was pretty impressive on his part! Luckily we persisted and found our favourite cache - great view as well!
Our first cache for 2014. Beautiful day to be out and about. Great views. Climb a bit too tricky for the geokids but geodad liked it.
Came back today after looking more at the logs and photos.
Brought with us Dale Philip's son. to go on a bush walk (bash).
Found it easily. Lots of banging of knees on the rocks and scratched skin from the sharp bushes.
All in a day of geocaching.

The aim of this walk had been reached. We marched a small team of Japanese mutants the size of smurfs out to the cache and sent them over the edge to retrieve the cache. Much safer that way!! It amazing how many of them could fit in that little space. TFTC Z.
After completing Nonagon Nemesis a little earlier, we were fully prepared for some more harakiri and kamikaze, but ended up a little disappointed with the ease with which the cache could be reached. Still it’s a very pretty spot with some great views over the valley.

I returned the Firetruck to the cache. No need to call 000. Although I could see why if you dropped it you wouldn't want to go down for it.
Shaido and I were just minding our own business when we were caught in crossfire, and we thought What the? Turns out there is a (no longer) secret base close by, we thought stuff this and decided to show them what for.
We came in from above, as you should always have the high ground, and it was quite easy, in a scratchy sort of way. 4.5 Terrain? I scoff at this *scoff* it could not have been higher then 4.4999. After finding the cache, we were fortunately not 'lost' like the previous logger, so had no need to call 000 (Aust Emergency number, similar to 911 in the US)
Be sure to go with at least 1 other person, and wear good solid foot ware ... clothes might also be useful as well. It is possible to get down and up with minimal risk, at least the path we took. The only place I found where a misstep would hurt - a lot - was at GZ getting the cache. So take it slow, plan, and you will have a smiley in no time. Did I mention go with at least one other person?
Our starting point is a rock (where the photos are taken from) s34° 40.716' e138° 49.808'

Yeah, a very good cache hiding spot again, thanks Zytheran. Ttrogg did the hardest part while gadanga and I had refreshments. TFTC
Out for a birthday stroll with gadanga and DPA (his birthday too).
Have enjoyed the walk so far and now for the off-track bit. Not as bad as expected and once within 10 metres was lucky enough to find in the first serious place investigated.
Many thanks for this bush cache Zytheran
