Lots of crevices no energy after climb. Great views well worth the clinb .
There was no way in hell I was not going to claim a smiley after that climb at my age! We got up quite easily in about an hour and a quarter after waiting until today for the better weather. Great views and exhilaration up there. We searched and searched and searched for an hour!! Then I decided I had to sign something, so put a small log with a pathtag as a temporary cache. This was all I had as we travelled light up there. Put it in a likely crack with a small rock on top. Hope you don’t mind! It’s definitley worth a favourite. I don’t think we would have attempted it if not for the cache, but so glad we did. TFTC
Arrived at Waddy's Hut cache close to 4.30 pm. After locating that container we decided to continue on to do Satan's Slippery Slope. After the steep uphill trek to the side track, we were met with conditions that slowed us and the track was surprisingly wet as we negotiated up to gz. Container and log have seen better days and after taking in the superb scenery we headed back to our car arriving there by 6pm. Thanks GR8T
Fun walk on a sunny winters day. Might be tome for some maintenance- paper and pencil in bad shape. Thanks
Found when down in the SW scaling mountains training. What beautiful views. Thanks
What an excellent day of adventuring through these hills!!
This climb wasn't so bad until I had to walk it barefoot from blisters!
It is doable!
Thanks for the fun time!

Tricky little beggar to get out, my hands were a bit large for the gap but a few scratches later and it was in hand.
After the wander around the Nancy Peak loop, I found meself at a crossroads [:o]
Where to next ??
How could I resist a cache with a triple 'S' name
Up I headed !!
As If I needed more exercise today
Gawd it is hot, and humid [xx(]
Kinda reminds me of Queensland summer weather
So off I plodded regardless
Upward, ever upward.
Not that far upward though ...
... hey it is only a couple of hundred metres upward
I can do that in me sleep !!
And so not much longer later I found meself at altitude 666
I kid you not !!
That is the elevation of this cache according to me GPS
It took a bit of scrambling around and fighting with the scenery to finally spy the cache.
I was expecting something a little bit bigger than an small cache though [:o]
Well cache found, and off I slid, back down the slide
TFTC and more exercise than I needed today

This afternoon geomum and I trekked up Devil's Slide to the top of Marmabup Rock (after walking Nancy's Peak circuit in the morning). A strenuous climb but well worth it for the great views. We past 4 lots of couples who were descending and we were the only people at the summit. It was lovely sitting here having a snack and a drink (though windy). We located the cache after 10 minutes or so and after signing the log I tucked it back into it's hiding place. TFTC GR8T
Jasali and I were enjoying a few days of walking in the Porongurups , her first visit since she was a child , although I have walked there several times over the last few years. However, I had never tackled Devil's Slide before and found it quite strenuous. It was certainly worth it for the great views and the cache was found after a bit of a search. TFTC.
This is absolutely magic! We were going to climb this hike but the cache was added incentive when I stopped a few times 'for a drink of water'! Love this awesome little cache and where it's put is really good. TFTH, a fave point from me!!
It was quite a climb indeed, but beautiful views from the top and nice spot for our lunch! Thx!
This was a tricky find being so small and many crevices in which to lurk - but it was found after about 10 minutes hunting. We headed west from here through the bush and then north down a granite slope to find the scenic drive. It was then a tedious walk back along scenic drive. Why don't they put in a Porongurup ridge walk? There has been no new walks in the Porongurups for decades. TFTC GR8T.
Did this while out bushwalking with Melvilla. Walked the Nancy peak circuit and then onto Devils Slide. We extended the walk to Manvat Peak (Bates Peak) and then followed a glorious rocky ridge NE down to Scenic Drive. Why this hasn't been converted into an "official" walk I really don't know. Melvilla bagged a few other caches on the route but I only found this one.
Looked at the weather and decided that a walk in the Porongurup's would be a great way to spend a few hours today. There were a number of caches here that were still on our 'to do' list. We conquered Castle Rock and as it was still early enough, made our way to the 'tree in the rock' car park. We decided to do the circuit walk to Nancy's Peak starting at the Wansborough Trail. When we reached Devils Slide track, we thought we may as well go and find the cache. We climbed and climbed and climbed and eventually reached the top.....Yeah!! The cache was an easy find at GZ however, as previous finder indicated, the log book is quite full. Shame we did not read this before leaving home, as we could easily have replaced it. As it was, we have added another piece of paper for others to log their finds. The views from the top of the mountain are magnificent, and a good reminder that we live in a great part of this wonderful country. Then it was time to get back down......and I'm not sure which was worse.....up or down!! We managed to reach the bottom without too much incident....no sliding onto our bottoms at least and we were very proud to have completed this part of the Porongurup's. Thanks for the incentive GR8T.....not sure if we may have attempted it otherwise.
What a great day. Comming from Castle Rock we started at 12:00 sharp from the parking lot. First we wanted to do only the circle tour to Nancy's Peak. Arriving at the pass we gave it a try. Steady we started our ascend and after only 30 minutes we stood on the windy top.
Started to look for this cache and found it immediately - still in good condition. Only the logbook is full now and needs a replacement. There was a broken plastic bag which I took with me to recycle.
The view up there is awesome and surely not to miss while visiting this park. The second peak in 2015 and a good practice for my goals (peaks) this year at home in Austria.
Thanks for setting this cache - another favourite for me!

Had to head out this way and up here for a work 'jaunt' and actually ended up less than 10m from the cache. Couldn't resist the call of the Cache and after having a previous DNF couldn't believe how easily I found it this time around. Also couldn't believe that another person in the group was a cacher.

Yes! Made it - fantastic climb and the views are well worth it. Definitely made use of my pant seat on occasion I was trying to scale the rock at the wooden bridge - thankfully I came upon some knowledgable walkers who guided me to the gully upwards. Really enjoyed that. One very slippery step up right at the foot - I nearly came a cropper flat on my back.
We came via Waddys Hut along the Southern Perimeter Path - very steep. The geokids and Mrs C left me to finish the climb. Some nice people along the way - a nice person took my photo for me
Thanks for another cache in a wonderful spot. TFTC

Found after a visit to Waddy's Hut, glad we didn't check cache size before we left, was the carrot to entice completion! But what a magnificent view and so worth the effort
Found on Good Friday.. After making the trek to Waddys hut.. At one point I thought I wasn't going to make it but giving up is not in my DNA (just ask 35DegreesSouth!)
The view is breath taking! And well worth the effort..
Cache in excellent condition..
Thanks for getting me out there, and thanks for the cache!!

Although I have visited the area on numerous occasions I had never completed the climb up to Devils Slide. Thanks for taking me up here. The views are spectacular.
Found it. Third peak of the day. No view. Lots of cloud. Pleased with our find though. Time for home and a hot shower.
We did a detour Porongorups on our way back from Denmark to Perth. Well worth it, we did Nancy's peak walk and the Devil's slide walk, both were great and awsome views from the top!
The cache was well hidden but relative easy to find, probably thanks to the previous cachers.
"Zo zie je nog eens iets" Thanks!

Great climb, most of the track was a waterfall after the rain the day before. As per the Rowstonian comment, had to use prehensile appendages and rudimentary tools to get to it. Much safer and friendlier spot now. TFTC
Up here with the didize clan and Finally found it after reading a couple of previous logs Thank God for mobile data access on the hill will try and locate in a better position for the next crews as it was moved by rain now in zip lock bag and more water proof.

Made it to the top and 3 of us spent a bunch of time hunting for this one - looks like many others have as well given the amount of "wear" that has occurred to some of the bush along the rock face. Lots of potential spots and a couple of really likely ones but no cache in hand.
Now I am home and reading the old logs I realise that we likely did see the cache as we spied some irretrievable plastic up the best looking crevice but could not extract it with the kit we were carrying. Frustrating given that all the other caches in this general area were on location at GZ and readily recovered.
Thanks anyway, was a nice walk in the rain to the top.....

It was a beautiful clear day so we did the circuit fron Nancy's Peak to this one. Great views all around and a welcome breeze at the top. A favourite cache so thanks. It certainly helps to have a cache at the top of a steep climb and a good excuse for a well deserved rest too.
Made the trek up then searched and searched and searched. Couldnt find the blighter. Wind started to blow a bit too much so made my way over to other nearby caches.
Cheers

Found today with Albany Canucks, and Southern Boomers. Great climb to the top and great views. The cache took us a while to retrieve as it was down a very deep crevice and a rock had lodged against it. Had to use a long stick to pry it out. Have repositioned it about a metre away, still in a crevice. Thanks for taking us up here.
Well it's been nearly a year since this cache had a visitor, and we figured it was high time to go up the slide and conquer the slope! So the Albany Canucks teamed up with Albany Getaway and Southern Boomers to make the climb. After a couple of geocaching appetizers on the way here, this was to be the main course. We began our quest at the Tree-in-the-Rock parking lot, but not before donning the mandatory geocaching t-shirts from our sponsors. A grueling cache like this deserves being well dressed! It was drizzling at times, but that wasn't about to daunt us, although we had to be careful, and there were one or two slips along the way. Fortunately we had a paramedic on hand as well, although I'm not sure what we'd have done had he been the casualty!
After a great hike, in which many geocaching war stories were exchanged along the way, we arrived triumphantly at the summit. Now to find the cache... but this proved to be almost an impossible assignment, and we easily spent over 20 minutes searching every crevice diligently without much success. Although we did find a small piece of plastic way down in one of the crevices early during our search, but it was way beyond reach, even with a stick. After more than 20 minutes we were almost ready to give up, but fortunately our paramedic is a pretty persistent fellow, and with the use of several sticks, long arms, and much patience - and acquiring some scrapes and shedding some blood in the process - we were finally able to make that shred of barely visible plastic move... and yes it was the cache, and eventually we had it in hand. Maybe rainwater had moved it down the crevice to a virtually irretrievable position? At any rate, we'd rescued the poor thing, and after dutifully and gratefully signing the log, we gave it a new clear plastic wrapping, and have adjusted its location slightly so hopefully this won't happen again.
Future hunters need to look for a a bundle of clear glad-wrap type plastic that the cache is now wrapped in. It's still in a crevice, less than 1m from its original spot, but is now in a hidey hole that can best be seen when looking in the direction back toward the path that you come up; it's not much above ground level, should be fairly easily visible when looking closely in the right direction, and there's no vegetation nearby or covering it. For all three of us the given coordinates were pretty much on target, so they should prove fairly accurate. Hopefully future finders will be able to find it quickly.
The return trip back down the slope went by without incident (not counting a couple of near slips down the slide!). Two of us finished the Wanbrough Walk by going on to Waddy's Hut for that cache, where we were met by our chauffeur. Thanks for this cache - it's a wonderful walk with great views, improved only by great companions! (and maybe t-shirts)

Found after a long search. However the walk up to Devil's Slide was worth it for just the views. Found on a morning caching with Albany Canucks and Albany Getaway. TFTC.
Took us awhile to find it not that easy. Cache needs a bit of maintenance. We would have replaced the bag if we had been carrying one. Fantastic views from the top.
A cool windy day and plenty of shade made the walk very comfortable in the late afternoon. Very hazy, so views were restricted in the far distance, however closer by you could see life go on below. A great afternoons outing getting some, no, lots of fresh air into the lungs. TFTC
We had a perfect spring day to do the trifecta and this one was the absolute jewel in the crown. Wildlowers galore lined the track, it was a great temperature with just the gentlest of breezes. And of course a magnificent view at the top. It was a memorable couple of hours caching today - thanks GR8T for your contribution to the fun
Wow - our first for the day, and what a climb it was, the hard work, the stops and the climbs, we perservered and made it, the reward was the 360 degrees view all around, from the Stirling Ranges all the way to Albany. TFTC
Thank goodness we did the walk the wrong way or we would never have come up to this cache we would have been too buggered. Phew we made it!!!!! TFTH TNLN
Wow was the walk up tough after completing all the other caches in the park. Because I walked in from 'Waddys Hut" the climb seemed never ending. Rewarded with some great views at the peak where I sat for a while and finished my lunch. I even had to put a jacket on to stop the wind chill. Rewarded half way down when the sun came out and warmed me up. Feeling very weary by the time I got back to the car, but the challenge of completing all the active caches in the park in one go was worth it. Thanks for the cache.
A TRIFECTA OF FTF’S for the Coasters at the top of the Porongurup’s. After seeing “Satan’s Slippery Slope” still unfound after six weeks, the Coasters headed up the steep climb to the top of Devils Slide. One of our toughest climbs for a while and what magnificent 360 deg views from the top! As the Coasters climbed to the top, we followed fresh foot prints all the way up, very fresh that almost could have been the very morning we were on our way up. The realization that we may have been pipped to the FTF on that very morning was playing on our minds.
GZ was almost spot on and although the Coasters searched every crevice and possible hidey-hole a number of times, widened the search area and discussed the logical placement, the cache eluded us. Just about to finally give up and the male Coaster went down on one patella and there it was. How did we miss it so many times before?
Just as well we got up there early as “Team Phyler” had the same idea, but thankfully let us have the early go at it.
The climb up and down is tough and the rocks could be slippery when wet, but the views are some of the best you will ever get when retrieving any cache in the country. A cache worthy of the effort to make the climb and the whole Porongurup’s series are placed with fantastic views in mind. All the owners deserve a vote of thanks from those who make the effort to get out there and find them.

Finally someone has been up the slide and found this cache. I have been waiting to log a visit but wasn't going to claim a first as I had the advantage of making the climb with gr8t when the cache was placed. A truly challenging climb with a magnificent view as the reward. It's amazing what we put ourselves through to get to a cache.
Thanks gr8t's

This one has been unfound long enough, so set off to climb the slopes. Seems we weren't the only ones. Well done to the Coasters on their first to find. We will happily take second honours here. Such a climb!!! Not exactly being spring chicken we took our time to get to the top.......and down again. It was late in the afternoon when we finally found it and were lucky to get down before dark. Would highly recommend that you allow about 2 hours for this one, and a good pair of boots. It would be VERY slippery in the wet. Still, the veiws are fantastic and we can say "WE DID IT!!!"
