TFTC,Time to head home after a massive trip through NSW, Qld., NT, WA, SA and still to come Vic. Visited trackables.Back at the car and Nana started to Read out old logs. While listening, I paid particular attention to 2 of them and we gave it another go.Visited trackables.
Gave up and was about to drive off, while wazza9 was deciding where to go next. I was reading previous logs, so we got out of the car and went back, I looked there and walked away, wazza9 did a check and bingo there it was, very sneaky. Signed log and replaced. Thanks to
Find # 15899Been a while since I've been out solo for a long trip. But things change over time. And I'm living the past.So with some time off work, I've jumped the border wall to chase down some long trails in South Aussie... don't know how many I'll get. But I've got quite a few downloaded. I do have a short hit list ( of 2) caches to help with a challenge. All others are just for the Adventure and countryside views. Armed with all the necessary TOTT from tweezers and magnet grab to 6m ladder and 8m fishing pole. I believe I'm prepared for all that I'll come across. (Just had to leave the Kayak at home )Day 6. Lameroo to ?, well aiming for Naracoorte. With the big days n trails n short distances behind me. Today's plan is to just follow the icons. Make a few grabs around the Lameroo and Pinnaroo area before making my way down south. TFTC Biggo
Crunched all the numbers easily and eventually made the sneaky find after extending our search area. Found with Bushnik.TFTC
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state WA. After a chilly morning it has turned out to be a lovely arvo. Came this morning but a church service was on so we returned this afternoon to make the find. Thanks Biggo
Travelling with richlink as part of our Annual Caravan Geocaching Trip.We are staying in Narracoorte for a few days, using geocaching as our tour guide. Thanks for the cache, Biggo.
My God, phew, find it and sign the log as EV, and thanks for the cache and hunt
Well that took too long.Agree with Freddo no place for Nanos!!!So we visited this church. Found nothing.Went back refit the sums.Went to Sunday service, no divine inspiration from above about the location of the treasure.Service was lovely.Came back, had a look, no luck.Messaged a previous finder who sent a critic but helpful hints.Looked harder this time and treasure was in hand. The help suggested looking for a sign from my choice of god.I suggest, given my RC background we look to the saintsThanks for this sneaky little cache
24/10/2023 7:42:00 PMI gathered the info on my last visit to Naracoorte, and while passing through I decided to go log it, this proved much harder than expected to do as my calculated coords were off by quite a bit leaving to search the wrong structure at for some time before a PAF put me on the right track and the nano was discovered in a place I had searched away from my GZ but not well enough.Find recorded using GCDroid and logged using GSAK
We are off on a trip to the Birdsville Races and then across to Queensland - the plan is for about 6 weeks all going well.
Day 1 was Portland to Cockatoo Lake.
We stopped in Naracoorte on our way through and tackled one of the AdLabs. On our way we found a couple of other caches as well.
Thanks for contribution to our holiday Biggo

Back and forwards a few times, at one stage looking for the correct stone then a failed trip to GZ until wife called me back to the laundromat. Later after I’d thought about it I came back and happy to say this time successfully.
Thanks

A nice run around to visit some lovely old buildings, a bit of a head scratcher then voila, there it is. tftc
Found by Deb, Caroline and Squizzie after some circuitous fun. Thanks for the nano.
After a while of frustrated hunting, we were close to giving up but finally found it with a fresh set of eyes looking in a spot already checked. Signed and replaced, although log is short on space!
What a rollercoaster.
Feels like a treasure hunt with the multi caches (first multi)
A micro cache that was frustrating to find but cool all the same.

South East trip with the geo-pup. Day 4, around Naracoorte.
Did the trip of the churches yesterday, but came up empty at GZ. Contacted a previous finder to confirm the location, and we'd looked there with no luck. Revisited this morning after a conversation with the CO and found it - we either didn't look deep enough yesterday, or we had some extra help today (coords are about 10m off)

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Biggo

Found out caching with Wollaston, so many churches here! Armed with finals that seemed to be logical, had a good search, needed a PAF and found it easily then. Thank goodness the services had concluded as we would have been found praying to the chronology gods.

Thanks for leading me in a merry circuit around town! I ran into the minister at GZ as he had left his glasses at the pulpit after the morning sermon. That threw me so I had a DNF... I then PAF'd and was set straight. Face palm - of course! Loved this cheeky multi.

Having arrived in Naracoorte and checked into my accommodation, I decided I had a little time to spare before having dinner. So, what did I do with that time? Go out and find a few local caches of course.
It seams that South Australia has an excess of churches, maybe they should give us a name for that. I quickly made my way through the waypoints, but nothing prepared me for what I was going to experience at ground zero.
I searched and searched and searched in what I thought was all the obvious spots and was just about ready to give up when I decided to read through the logs. All of a sudden, I had an idea of where and what I was meant to be looking for and a few seconds later, I had the cache in hand. I had even looked there before, I guess I just had not looked hard enough. I quickly signed the log, replaced the cache, and I was on my way.

This one took longer than it should have. However we did enjoy the exercise and the amazing old churches. Fav from us.

Enjoyed visiting the local churches around town, we were only just married in the Portland Lutheran Church on Sat 10th April ... all was going well on our walk until WP3, this had us stumped for sometime trying to find the right stone, reading previous logs and using our caching nouse, we were soon on the right track with a clever twist for GZ, TFTC

No luck for me here today. I even had an invitation and managed to visit inside one of the churches today but this was not enough to get me over the line.
So many churches we found ourselves in familiar territory but somehow missed the cache. Maybe next time we are in town again
I came here last month to complete this multi and had a run in at 5:30am with on of the ministers at the church. After calculating a final I couldn’t find it and knew I was wrong. With some help I found myself back at a location I had already been to on this multi and the cache was found and returned

Missed a weekend in the South East earlier this year due to the dreaded plague.
Took a drive roughly in that direction this weekend with Sebastbat to make up for it a little.
We'll be back
We found your cache Biggo thanks for putting it out here!
Actually this one took a wee effort ! ! ! We visited all the waypoints in the dark last night, got our info and had a good search.
Thought it could be blindness, but contacted a caching friend who had been here late last year.
Confirmed missing where we thought it should be. Good news / bad news...
Contacted CO - with permission donated a nice new nano in the morning back where the cache belongs
Thanks again Biggo for the placement. A fun tour of Naracoorte's sacred triangle
Fav for being a nice church multi tour.
Stay safe, sanitise, exercise, cache the regions at a distance ! ! !
Come visit the Barossa with your cache hides anytime [:o)]

I first attempted this one several years ago but used the wrong stone at WP3 and got lost. Today I came back for another attempt, found the right stone and was soon at the correct GZ. There I quickly found the cache in a place that seemed rather familiar! I guess this town will have a lot of used 2B churches one day...

Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late and generic log, something I am notorious for. Thank you Biggofor adding to the adventure that is geocaching.

Found with Geoturtle37, beckNmonts, The_Tritonz and micaparamedic. After sorting out our accommodation for the night we headed out again to pick off a few more caches before dark. We all really enjoyed the wonderful old architecture as we made our way around this cache. The cache itself was a quick, easy find and we were soon on our way again. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Having sorted our nights accomodation, we set off to find this multi. A great time was had! Thanks so much for placing this cache Biggo
Once we had our overnight accommodation sorted we set out to collect the local multi's, earthcache and a few trads before enjoying an delicious meal at the local pub.
An appropriate name for the street housing many churches!
We worked our way through the waypoints as we admired the architecture of the buildings and finally found a surprise waiting for us at the end.

Suscoe had a big day out from Mt Gambier to Naracoorte and back again.
The day was cool to mild with plenty of cloud.
Just perfect for caching in pleasant conditions.
We appreciated the countryside as we went from pines to grazing country then to vines and grazing again.
Thanks to Biggo for this interesting multi, we enjoyed checking out the great buildings.
Our co-ords today were a little out and a PAF confirmed this so we adjusted our search and there it was.

Hi there Biggo.
Oh the memories! We haven't been here for quite a few years As newbie cachers, we first visited Naracoorte way back in June 2005 when we attempted the Fourth Festive Frolic Weekend. We met lots of wonderful SA geocachers back then, many of which are still great friends to this day. Sadly our travels don't always permit us to meet up as often as we would like.
We enjoyed our outing today and found 8 caches (& DNF'd 3) in our cache run. Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places while we meander our way around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Smiley Badge
Regards
Ian & Penny.

This is my last to find cache in Naracoorte, the others collected over the past few years when visiting home. Despite the long day driving yesterday mums new leg was causing problems and she wanted to get her old one... no worries A 2.5hr return drive from the beach to naracoorte, I will go...
All went ok collecting the information, but wp3 needed a bit of a think, with two stones at the same place. A bit of sense about the questions and was sorted. With a qz plotted, it looked a bit odd but was close to a pencil pine so went and searched, no cache. Hmm, from my location there was a few possibilities, it was hot and I wanted to get back to the beach so instead of the dnf I was going to do,
went by a hunch, drove the car closer and checked one last spot. Bingo... We have a winner. Will check my data later but regardless, cache is signed. Thanks for the cache.

Second back-to-back road trip, this time to represent the family at the Rook Walk Centenary. Owl has been meaning to do this multi for ages, but never has the time to stop. This time was different and she had a pleasant time wandering around the different churches. Then made a mistake on one answer and had to resort to a PaF for the final. Very sneaky!
Our final day down at Mount Gambier for the weekend, and so after some morning sinkhole scuba diving, I headed back to Adelaide via the 31 days geocache series and detouring past Kalangadoo and Naracoorte. The old commute takes a bit more time when you’re geocaching along the way.
Finally found this cache after a few attempts at this multi-cache! My first time had me find an incorrect church plaque that had me looking just up the road. I wasn’t confident of my numbers, so left confused without logging a DNF. My second time had me log a DNF after finding the error of my ways, but searched and searched and searched without any find. I had to resort to a PAF to a past Finder, who gave me a hint to where the cache may be located. The funny part was I had thought about this, but considered it too far to be likely. Another learning to follow your gut sometimes. So today on my return back to Adelaide, I made the find. Glad to have this one off my list, and to have thought that I started this multi-cache thinking it would be a quick multi passing through this town. Ha, think again . Thanks!

Driving to Mount Gambier via Keith for the weekend for some sinkhole scuba diving fun, and grabbed a few caches along the way.
Second time completing this multi-cache after messing up one of the plaques questions. This time at least it got me to sensible coordinates, but in the dark, I couldn't find. Probably spent 20 min looking around the various hiding spots. Sigh.

After the second time looking we came at it with fresh eyes. Teaching our Uncle how to play. Turned a muggle into a cacher
Day 3 of my latest road trip in Australia has me spending 5 days travelling through undiscovered regions in Vic and SA. Today I started in Naracoorte and finished in Swan Hill. 3 states today. 23 caches incl 1 EC, 2 Multi's and a letterbox hybrid. It started of rainy and stayed that way most of the day but not too bad and I stayed dry.
#3 - I actually did the leg work for this one yesterday after arriving in town but when arriving at GZ I noticed a lot of mothers and kids hanging around so I left and thought I'd try again this morning. Searched a few items before thinking of one thing - sneaky! Signed and replaced. Beautiful churches. Thanks for the tour Biggo.

Since moving from New Zealand in 2016 I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches.
So far I’ve knocked off 4 of the states. VIC, SA, NSW and A.C.T all multiple times.
No two areas are the same here and almost every place I go to is stunning. The beauty of caching is that it takes you to so many places you would never usually find.
Thank you to all the cachers out there for hiding and maintaining their caches. Especially to those who put so much effort into creating unique and fun hides.
I enjoy finding well maintained caches in fun and unique cache containers. No one likes finding a mint tin – but a find is a find after all.

She couldn't help thinkin' that there
Was a little more to life
Somewhere else
After all it was a great big world
With lots of places to run to
Yeah, an d if she had to die
Tryin' she had one little promise
She was gonna keep
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night

It was kind of cold that night
She stood alone on her balcony
She could the cars roll by
Out on 441
Like waves crashin' in the beach
And for one desperate moment there
He crept back in her memory
God it's so painful
Something that's so close
And still so far out of reach
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night

The three of us were heading back to Adelaide after the event in Millicent. We stopped here for a rest break and to stretch our legs. After gathering the info, Mr Tardis and Mini Tardis spent way too long searching in all the wrong places. Eventually we found the nice hide.

Good run! Kids were saying "so mean! So mean!" By the end, but laughing! Thankyou!
We enjoyed the tour of the three churches for the architecture of the buildings and the different ways in which the limestone had been presented. Data collection was straightforward at each location. On our way to GZ we guessed at the possible location of the hide and we were right - we went there without looking at our GPS and, as found by Phetlern, the cache was about 8m from GZ. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Biggo for an enjoyable multi.

Throwing off the effects of this morning's cabin fever we ventured out around town to add a few smiley tokens to our Naracoorte map. A mixture of driving, riding and walking, showed us a variety of hides such as this one. We collected the information for this multi about nine months ago but had no luck in finding the cache. This evening we searched by torchlight and yes - the light was shed on the prize!
Satellites today had our calculated coordinates 10 metres west of where we found the cache.
Our thanks to Biggo for placing this cache.

Enjoyed our amble around the Bible Belt. So many churches to choose from in such a small area! Didn't occur to me that going caching after attending Uniting Church service on Sunday am would naturally increase the potential for muggles. We did educate a few parishioners about the game though. TFTC!
Happy Easter Monday We have a full day out caching planned for today. We enjoyed this multi today, it sure gave us a laugh when we found the cache. TFTC Great history for our young Geokids.
