Quick find here today cache is all goodOn a week long trip to Melbourne for work and to watch the AFL prelim at the MCG, I decided to drive over and make a bit if a caching trip out of it as well. Stopping to find the odd cache here and there along the way. Thanks for the cache
Accurate coordinates and a familiar style of hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks tigersden for the cache.
The third of four days cachign with Robmc. We had our planned caches, but often changed plans at the drop of a hat if something looked cool. Started off in Horsham, travelled north towards Birchip then west towards Kerang and then south to stop off at Pyramid Hill. And even more school sites.
Day three with Day on our LGA collection trip around Western Victoria.Today we started at Horsham, and traveled northeast and finished in Pyramid Hill. The weather was drier but still overcast all day. Most of the other schools only lasted about 20 years, this one did well to make its centenary! Although they shut it the next year. Thanks, Robmc.

Glad to see that cachers are taking care of these logs for the sake of their longevity.
A nice little hide and all in very good shape.
It sad to see the demise of these little towns which are just a locality now.

Found this morning as I was taking a drive around the Donald, Minyip and Sheep Hill region and finding a few geocaches. Cache OK TFTC.
Find No. 3629 Found at 1.46pm
Today was Easter Sunday so we decided to spend it by going for a drive up to Sheep Hills via Minyip, grabbing the caches around the area that we haven't yet got. A total of seven we had to find plus one stage of an Adventure Lab at the Sheep Hills Silo Art. And of course Geodog Penny came with us the outing.
After visiting the Sheep Hills Silo Art and doing the caches there, we then headed for home along a back track to grab the final three caches in the area we had to get. This was our last find for the day.
After we found the cache we had a bite to eat and a cold drink, gave Penny a walk around the area, as it was well off the road, and then we headed home via Donald.

Found with my youngest (LukeSistema) as we meandered our way from home (Ballarat) to Lake Albacutya for a weekend of geocaching fun. I love the amazing history you find on the way. Crazy to think that 40years ago a school was here! Thanks for the cache.
Mr Morris has a few weeks off but with border restrictions we thought we'd do a slow lap of Victoria while we had some good weather. With the van in tow we didn't try and stop as we travelled.
We headed for Brim and spent 3 nights there at the lovely community camp and collected some caches in a couple of loops from there.

These sites are all just paddocks now. Flat, dry, yellow. That's it for miles. Hard to imagine a school here, what would they have used for shade?
TFTC. We were camped at Rupanyup and decided that with the wind and showers it would be a god day to leave the Motorhome parked up and use the car to go and explore a bit further afield. We were doing the Silo Art Adventure Lab so we headed toward Sheep Hill and Brim. A great few hours 10 caches found and 1 DNF at Sheep Hill Silo.
Working our way north towards the Murray Sunset we just had to visit the fantastic SiloArt along our route....not to mention a few detours to grab the caches far and wide.
So many school sites with nothing remaining of the buildings but at least the signs are here to remember the past.
Thanks tigersden for the placement.

The second day of our rather twisty and winding route to Mildura, with many stretch the legs stops as directed by the GPS'r!
Once, so many schools dotted around the country areas, not sure the change is for the better.
Our thanks to 'tigersden' for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.

Our first break for freedom since isolation began. Such a lovely day to be out driving around the district with the kiddos. Beautiful start to the long weekend and looks like many others had the same idea. Roads are packed today!! TFTC
The math in the math teacher with me often leaves me wondering. He eventually worked out that they did crack 100. TFTC
Lucky and glad they cracked 100. Just.
Found on another epic caching loop with H423L which included the St Arnaud mega and many other magnificent Australian locations.
Thanks tigersden and clear skies from TeamAstro. ️ Cache the planet!

Suscoe's second day of caching in Horsham and the countryside around this region.
Another brilliant Winter's day.
Sunshine all day with a breeze from the north. The car said 17 was the top temp but it felt warmer at times.
Quiet locations for the caches that we visited and lots of fun as we wandered the back roads of this region.
Thanks to tigersden for this hide.
All good here today.

It was much cooler coming from Victoria as the cool change had finally arrived the night before.
Thanks for bringing us here & the cache tigersden

A nice day to be outside with friends and caching together.
Some logs are stamped "Fabulous Randoms", others our names are handwritten.
Thank you for placing this cache.

Thank you for placing this cache.
The log was wet so I replaced it for you.
I always love visiting these school sites and wondering what it would have been like back in the day.
Our group found this cache after we left my breakfast event in Donald.
Please note: generally we stamped the log as "Fabulous Randoms", however some logs we have written our caching names.
What a great 'long' weekend travelling to St Arnaud from Adelaide for the wonderful annual festivities. I cached with many awesome cachers including Feathertop, micaparamedic, Locus Cache, Muzza, Sharkie Fan, BushFire and of course TheDame. I also socialised with many others.....gosh I love Victoria!
Thanks so much for the cache tigersden! [^]

Pa was being incredibly cooperative today and took the long way back to our camp in Warracknebeal so that I could grab this cache. A quick find, sign and return of the cache. TFTC TNLN SL
My last cache for the day, but definitely the one with the most memories. When I grew up I used to attend "Group Days" here, when I lived in the area and attended Wilkur South Primary School. It was fun visiting other schools, especially trying out their playgrounds. TFTC tigersden. A trip down memory lane for me.
**Be careful when attempting this one as the grass is thick and high. Keep a lookout for snakes.

Spending a couple of days in Warracknabeal to view the three silos in the area that have been painted. A normal Summer's day for the locals, however, uncomfortably hot for some visitors. Didn't bother stopping for some caches, and others if not in hand immediately were abandoned and back to the air-conditioned car. Should any snakes be enjoying the heat at or near the GZ, we were not going to upset them going about their normal summer business.
Xmas day is a really blo___ hot day and to stop with a logged find in Mar and then nothing till a recent DNF - got be be mad!
The site deserves a few minutes in my snake defending thongs (care -not stupidity as see at least one snake on a daily basis at home) approached the GZ.
Published co-ords are spot on, cache where one would expect it to be. Cache and log in excellent condition.

Long grass. Lots of mosquito's. maybe needs to be checked and moved to a better area in grounds.
Although it was quite dry, we saw some lovely scenery, on the inland roads of Victoria.
Visited a variety of historical and interesting locations.
Cache was located after a short search, signed and replaced as found.
Many thanks for placing this cache, tigersden, for us and others to find.

Found it with TBLance and Nip checked out the hall and cricket pitch as well. Hard to believe they play way out here in the middle of nowhere. TFTC
So many schools. We only found one/two that showed any sign that there was ever a building there let alone lots of children.
Hard to believe this cache has only had 26 visits in it's life.

Find number 150! Found this with geokids 2&4, who'd been asleep for the previous 3 caches. With a tip from geodad, the geokids made the find. Do you think the education department deliberately held off closing the school until after it had it's centenary? It seems that way. TNLN. Thanks tigersden for another former school site cache.
After finding quite a few of these old school caches it makes me wonder how many more there could possibly be in this area. Thanks tigersden for the cache, made this a straight forward find this afternoon.
well i set out tonight to find a couple of caches, leaving home (st arnaud) at 8:30pm, yes very late to be heading out, and after getting home at 1:15am with 15 finds in hand and after being questioned by the police to see what i was up to, it was quite a long night, nice hide, tftc
Visited the hall & cricket ground, then to the school site for another quick find - my 100th!

A nice, easy cache. The old school sites fascinate me on so many levels. As a teacher a school like this would have presented a number of unique challenges. As someone who went to a small one teacher school they also bring back some of the most powerful and best memories. TFTC
We were very fortunate that there wasn't a great deal of work on this weekend and we were able to sneak an extra day off so headed across to Skippy's 50th birthday event zig zagging and grabbing a few caches along the way.
We have visited many schools since we began geocaching and the majority probably belong to tigersden who seem to have a knack for finding these old sites. The school maybe gone but the fences still stand and we wondered if the two adjoining small properties were part of the school area. We stopped and looked at the memorial and site for a little while while we waited for a dog walking muggle to pass by, we had no idea where she came from or was going to but we are guessing that she's either had or going for quite a long walk. The dog came over and greeted us for awhile before returning to it's mistress and we were then quickly locate the cache and add our name to the log.
Our thanks to tigersden for the cache.

Found while on a nostalgia visit to the district.
My two elder sisters went to the Boolite school. By the time I started school the Lawler school had reopened, so we all went there.
Used to ride a horse or go in a 'jinker'.
As a youth, used to go to dances at the nearby Boolite Hall, to send off and welcome home servicemen during the 39-45 war. They were great fun, the highlight being the supper put on by the local ladies.
Great that somebody has put caches at such locations. Wish I had the time to find more of them.
TNLN. Thanks again.

Another abandoned school site and another tigersden cache, you certainly have an uncanny ability to find and put these old sites to good use.
We collected another medallion.
