Logs

16-Aug-11
The area where the cache was located has been destroyed by the flood. It is not possible to locate a cache as it was originally planned.

31-Jul-11
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

21-Jan-11
Found. Survived floods but sodden and fell in mud. Placed under big spikey tree up the bank a bit

12-Jan-11
Disabled until the water recedes. Then I will assess the whole series to see if it should be changed.

08-Jan-11
Good hide! Everything safe & sound. Bitten by ants. Sad panda.

20-Dec-10
With the recent rain there was more than just mud to contend with. Loki soon had her shoes off and knee deep in water retrieving the logbook. TFTC Crew 153.

20-Dec-10
May not need to get muddy but with the recent rains, you certainly need to get wet! Knee deep in water but the cache is fine Wink. Thanks Crew 153 - a neat little hide.

01-Dec-10
Found by Sunshine Toledo and Jinga 2 at 8:38am. Had some concern about opening the cache but all solved in the end. It was a short walk from the car to GZ. TFTC

29-Nov-10
A fun distraction on my bike ride around the west this morning Smile
As I followed the GPS arrow toward the mangroves I did wonder if I would stay un-muddied Big Grin
Down by the edge I wandered back and forth for a while.
I wasn't looking for the cache...... that would be too hard.
Much easier to look for the tell tale signs of previous cache finders Wink
Not much later I saw one of the shortest geotrails I have seen and standing at the end of it soon spied the cache Big Grin
The camo is exquisite and after signing the logbook and rehiding it, I looked back from a few metres away and couldn't see it [:o]

Found on the 2nd try - I'll have to keep my head up in the future and not worry about my cache blindness. I didnt' bring a pen to sign the cache, but left a TB with a bit of a sting to it .....

04-Nov-10
I was driving past and this looked a quick find. At GZ, the cache was easily found, and is in a good and dry condition. Nice camo.

03-Oct-10
I must say the camouflage on this is very effective. I was standing right beside it peering into the bushes before noticing it was there Red Face No swaps, just a quick signing of the log then I was on the move as the rain was returning. TFTC.

15-Sep-10
Found with Podicle and geo nippers on a Daddy day care treasure hunting day. TFTC

06-Sep-10
Quick find after an early finish at work today. Have been to the park on the other side of the bridge many times, with the kids and to launch my kayak, but never wandered over this way before... and a great place for a wander by the way.

30-Aug-10
Hmmm, the case of the there again, gone again and back again geocache. I'd love to know what's going on with this one. Was it on the ground, my last visit? I thought I had a good look around "the wire", but you never know. I've been known to miss the blazingly obvious before Red Face. Anyway, thanks to 'splashgordon1' for putting the cache back on the wire so I could find it. TN/LN/SL

28-Aug-10
Totally different story today -we walked straight to it.

TFTC

22-Aug-10

21-Aug-10
A nice stroll around the park and love the leaves ,added to the camo hide

20-Aug-10
Found a lonely piece of wire right at GZ but nothing else. Poked around in the grass for some time, just in case, but that didn't find me the cache.

14-Aug-10
we didn't even find the wire.

Till next time

06-Aug-10
Thanks for taking the burden of me, Crew. Wink

01-Aug-10
Found this one after a short hunt along the shore line. Container had no swaps in it so we put a few in happy hunting all

28-Jul-10
This one might be gone unless it has been moved. We found it last week, but on a walk past it on Sunday, all we saw was a wire where the cache was before.

Attempted during a raid on Brisbane with The Rats, Big Matt and Shell and Steeba.

Found a wire but no cache. Maybe next time.

23-Jul-10
We found a wire hanging from the tree with nothing attached right above a bit of a worn path, I hope that wasn't the cache.

Thanks anyway cachesearcher17.

Junior Gunnie had an appointment close by this afternoon so I took the opportunity to swing by for a quick hunt... [^] Even with updated coords, I fumbled around for a good 15 minutes before the cache was in hand. I was focussed in the wrong area and on the wrong type of hide... Red Face

I did spot the booty though and was quite surprised at how I missed something so obvious... Surprised

Cheers cachesearcher17.

I know this area pretty well.

This cache could be adopted into my Oxley Creek Series.

It took a bit of walking around before I spied what I was looking for.

Well hidden. TNLN.

18-Jul-10
TFTC,

17-Jul-10

We had a go at this one tonight but left empty handed. Despite a bright torch, this one was too elusive for us

02-Jul-10
Feel ashamed. What's wrong with me?

02-Jul-10
Spent about an hour with Mrs George searching for this one, but no luck today -like the previous searchers.
Traversed a wide area about 80 metres either side of posted coords between the oval and the mangroves, and found several possible hides but no cache. Is the cache still there or has it been removed by muggles (children?), or are coords way out?
Sad Had an interesting time looking!

02-Jul-10
Having read the various logs for this one I came to the conclusion that I knew where the cache wasn't - at GZ. So after a bit of research and thinking about the cache notes, I dropped by on the way to work this morning with some ideas in mind for where to look.

And indeed, before long, I was heard to utter "That Actually Could Insanely Be It - Surely" - and then the cache was to hand - only about 65 m from GZ. The log book was signed, a *FTF* was recorded and the container placed back in its "Hidy Hole".

At least I think I found it - there was the "T.A.C.I.B.I.S Almanac" and a stash note but the container wasn't green, and there were no other items.

Given that what I found was the cache then can I offer the hider a few suggestions/comments:

1. Its a nice if unspectacular place to bring cachers to - and the hide is nicely accessible without climbing through long grass or mud.

2. But get the coordinates right - there is nothing more frustrating than searching for a cache that is not at GZ.

3. Invest a little in buying a better cache container. The type that you have used has a lifetime of a couple of weeks before failing and everything becomes wet.

4. Consider a bit of camouflage - the cache is very visible. Something simple would be suitable here.

5. Consider mounting it better - the current spot isn't good for the container.

6. Clock up a few more finds so you get a feel for how its best done.

I'm intrigued by the "maintenance by Poppy" - but that is probably another story.

I've added my best set of coordinates for where it is. No swaps were made. Ta.

My GPS indicated the GZ was out in the open where the short grass is. I had a look in the long grass near thr tracks with no luck. Are the co-ords correct?

29-Jun-10
We came , we didnt see, we didnt find. LOL on a cold winter arvo when the kids are bored (2nd day of the school hols mind u ) we thought we would race out and get ourselves a FTF. But alas we made it to 7 mtrs of GZ and found lots of tracks in and out of the waist high grass , lots of places to hide a cache but came out empty handed. Oh except for the dog who sniffed out a possum which she excitedly chased up the tree. So we will be back another day . Thanks for getting us out and for a walk it was a fun. - Wells Inc

28-Jun-10
Spent over an hour trying to find this one. No good. My tracks in and out of the long grass were probably the ones seen by Wells Inc

28-Jun-10
I too searched on Monday without success, i spent about 20 mins but to no avail. May i suggest checking that the coordinates are correct.
Thanks anyway Smile
