Logs
I had arrived in Ingham this yesterday for a couple of days work...and after an early breakfast, I went hunting a few caches...mostly unsuccessfully...before starting work.
The previous logs indicate that there is no container, just the log sheet...and I suspect that has now gone too.

Found it! This cache desperately needs a container. The log is sitting by itself full of water

we're on holiday and traveling from Brisbane to Cairns (Cape Tribulation) and all places between. we try to find a cache every day. some are easy to find and some are more difficult. but with every cache we find we get a smile on our face and a smile on our map.

On the trip from cairns back to Melbourne and along the way lets get some caches while we stretch our legs. Tftc
Stopped for coffee and a break, nothing much open, but I had a quick walk to this speccy hide. Merv's plaque needs a bit of a rethink and a restoration though. Tftc

2nd catche of the new year. Great find. Good hiding spot. Had to wait out the muggles.
A nice quick find while on the way to Mission Beach. Thanks to karicka for the great improvement on the log. This is a nice part of town. TFTC and greetings from Canberra!

Founded on the way to Townsville.
We found this cache during the first of our 5 week trip thru Eastern Australia and Tasmania. We startet in Cairns, now first direction Sydney. On the way we will search more nice locations on the way, geocaching helps us a lot.
Many thanks also for this cache and greetings from GPSnini (from Switzerland)

last time we dropped in
Merv wasn't home
and I was going to ask his mate corika,
if she wanted us to drop anything in on our next planned trip to Cairns in December
but then I saw she managed to drop in and check up on him anyway
so we thought we would drop in and and check up on him today
after this unscheduled trip north.
happy to find him at home this time, all safe and well

Will attempt to replace the log as soon as I can. If someone on their way through could leave a temporary log, that would be great!
Awesome spot. Looking at other logs makes me think the cache is missing. We too found the man made hiding hole. Needs maintenance!
Reading previous logs leads me to believe that people have found the Merv memorial but not found the cache. We also found the memorial but not the cache. I think this one needs to be checked.
Second GEO CACHE that I have found but has been replaced with a munzze sticker how do I sign
stopped in on our way north last weekend
but there was a van parked close by ... so left it for our return
no one around today
mmm ... but apparently neither is the cache [?]
had a look, but couldn't find the cache container.
... maybe, another for our next trip north

This was cache number 37 for our weekend away to Townsville. Had to get more on the way home and this one was our last. Wish I had more time to get the last couple here. TFTC
Great cache. Enjoyed the experience and information at park. Travelling through and nice to pick up another find and a challenge as well. TFTC.
Quick find as previous logs sorta gave the game away.
It's nice on Australia Day to remember a local hero.

Very clever hide. I like ones that have a bit of thought put into it. Nice park too.
Very clever hide - first time we have seen one like this! I actually had my hands on this one and replaced it and Geoteen snuck up behind me and spotted it. Too clever for Geomum. Love this cache.

Always happy to be brought to places like this that commemorate or celebrate a local. geoD had moved the cache on numerous occasiond=s before geoP had a girls search and spotted the little sucker.

This is a very nice little park – found before the cane train came - TFTC / TFTH / SL
Another excellent cache and hiding spot in a lovely park. Waited till no muggles nearby to get cache and sign log.
TFTC corikra, bringing us to this park and for your notes on the interesting story of the "likeable cop" - Merv Wacker.

Heading south to Townsville before heading west to continue our 2nd lap of Aust.
We left the caravan parked up while we attempted the caches around Ingham.
A nice memorial for the "likable cop", an easy find.
Thanks for the cache, corikra.

North Qld 2013. Day 12 Townsville to Tully. An interesting memorial with a pretty well hidden cache for such an open area. Thanks.

We searched for a pic nic table to have lunch. Then we saw the icon on the GPS less then 50m away. Of course we went for it. It was a easy grip, we have seen an other cacher putting back the cache just when we parked the car
Mr Beetle went and grabbed this clever cache container while I made lunch. Thanks.
another great place to relax on my way north.
thank you corikra for the clever cache, a fav point from me.

TFTC corikra. Found with Bob on our return trip after visiting Mission Beach for the weekend. Loved this cache but not the green ants that have made a nest in the surrounding area. For some reason they loved me though! SL TN LN and RTC.
