Bzzzzzzzzzz Came here with RatCache1. Yep, tested our limits and we found! A FP from me Find #247
#500 milestone cache, and totally worth it, plus the excellent amazing company, because she says so (SmallPooka). Love the camo on this one and having to look around for it.
I got a message from Glen saying that he was due to pick up his 500th cache and did I want to join him. Of course, grabbing a landmark cache is always better with friends! I mentioned this one, as it had so many favourites and off we headed.Upon arriving at GZ we waited for all the muggles to leave and started a search when I called him over saying I had spotted something likely. A quick check and the cache was in hand. Tftc #1901
I've had this one on my list for a while, and since I found an easy cache in the area tonight, I thought I'd stop by and give this a go. Once at GZ, I spotted where I thought the cache was likely to be, explored a little further to make sure I couldn't find anything else, and went to investigating. Very much enjoyed the theme of this cache, and quickly had the bison in hand. I'd noted the challenges others have had with getting it open, so I brought some persuasion along with me, and thankfully was able to get it open. It's definitely seen better days, but still usable nonetheless. A great hide here which is definitely deserving of an FP from me, TFTC!
I looked for this while in the area probably a year ago, but wussed out, but not this time! A little freaky, a little fun - unable to break in, so a photo will do
Staying around the corner with a friend and had a few minutes to kill before breakfast.Wandered down to this cache and spotted it straight away. With no hesitation I had exposed the cache, but it was tight. Had no tools to persuade the bison lid open so unable to sign log.Have photo evidence instead.Could do with a bit of maintenence, but a clever cache I enjoyed anyway. Thanks for something different.
We first tried to find this cache over two years ago. Back then we had chickened out but we decided today was the day for Larphs and I to face out fears and give it another shot. Arrived at GZ and Larphs whipped the top off pretty quickly. Then we stared, discussed, worked through our thought processes logically until I bravely went for it. Yay, Id faced my fears and come up trumps! Then in a massive anticlimax, we couldnt undo the bison. I hope the attached photo is acceptable to the CO. Thanks for the thrills.
Well, what can I say. Second time around cos those big green things looked too scary and official and I was too newbie. Water under the bridge and I am now fearlessalmost. Discovered GZ, or thought it looked pretty likely and had the top whipped off pretty quick to see what was what. The warnings are perturbing and I swore the Mission Impossible theme song was being played somewhere close.those wires looked live and we were going to self destruct in 5 seconds. While I was thinking who knew CPR better for the inevitable resuscitation, RuthHide starts plucking the odd wires with her electrical tools NOT wearing high vis OR rubber boots and reveals the hidden depths of the minefield. Well, wasnt she chuffed with herself and rightly so after cheating a certain death if she had plucked the wrong wire!Yes, it was that dramatic and yes, we will be talking about that one long after we pick matching zimmerframes with seats and hidden compartments.
I really want to log this with "DNF but took out the power to all of Greenhithe" but I was the bravest and strongest and most electrifyingly powerful person there today.
We had sussed this out quite some time ago, but on that particular day there was a police car hovering close by and I really didn't want to have to explain my self if I was wrong. Today, as it has finally stopped raining, we brought Granddad out to go fishing, and pick up some caches. At first GeohoundandI couldn't get the top off, but I managed to jiggle it enough. I was wired when I looked inside, and my heart was buzzing when I finally put my hand in. I charged ahead and amped it up a bit to keep GeohoundandI earthed, and soon had the bison unplugged.
Signed the log then volted over the fence and back to the car.
So glad to finally log this cache.

OMFG the most nerve-wracking find, especially since we had the kids in tow and had sat them down away from GZ to keep them safe. Fun getting steps in with Gidgetster today. TFTC
Out caching with TheFoxes. After a quick scope we spotted the likely cache. After opening the likely cache and a few mins of deliberating who goes first Jenni took the leap. Very cool camo!! Definitely deserves a favourite point! TFTC
Over in Greenhithe this morning since my dad wanted to meet up and this is not too far away from where he lives, plus there were a couple of highly favourited caches I hadn't yet found. This was the first one. I had read the cache page and all the warnings, and when I arrived at GZ I spotted something and thought that must be it.
Dad wasn't so sure, but I decided to try it anyway, and after a bit of fiddling around... there was the cache!! We were both amazed and impressed, and I reckon this deserves its favourite points plus the one I'm going to give it
Reassembled everything as we found it... I still couldn't convince my dad to touch it, but he says he trusts me a lot more now Thank you for the cache and the work that went into it!
Bzzzzzzzzzz...

Found this one after much speculation and leaving messaging the CO and then returning. Nate drew the short straw and carefully picked the cache apart much to our happiness not getting electrocuted in the process. Great cache, great camo and great spot! Thank you
After spendin too much time searching the wrong place. Quick read of the logs made me realise to stop touching those & look around. Spotted next best option & after much debate with Tas over who was gonna twist & pull I got the short straw & took the risk. Great camo, maybe a geo sticker under the lid might put some minds at ease here.
Amazing hide. Went once and was twisting wrong place but came back and found it.

Out today grabbing some favorited caches around Auckland.
Upon arrival I immediately spotted something that didn’t make sense, followed my instincts and common sense and eventually, although with some nerves, managed to reveal the cache!
Impressive work on this one, it’s well worth the favorite point for uniqueness!
Thanks!

2 trips here after being unable (not strong enough?) to get the top of the cache off. This time I was able to get it going and the nicely concealed cache was located. Nice camo here, deserving of all the FPs afforded so far to it, and another from me.
***Time to catch up on my Geocaching admin***. This cache was (pre)found, signed and replaced and set aside for logging on a future revisit which coincided with desired stat/dot-days. However the recent Lockdown levels 4 and 'proper' L3 meant no caching would be entertained so those 'dot' days roll over to next year, or 2023 or whatever. These 8 Greenhithe caches are the last to be logged.

Terrifying find and racing heart as I got to it. Unbelievably well camouflaged. Clearly enormous effort gone into this hide. Makes it so much fun to find. My determination outweighed my fear. Thank you so much for this cache.
Very scarey at first look!
But was with previous finder so all good
Fave Point here.
Good construction thanks.

Definitely a bit of a challenge, and you've got to admire the work. Had a look initially a week or so, and was completely on the wrong track, the 11kv track. Good job I had a little chat with well known cacher, and sent in another direction. Did manage to get my moniker on the disintegrating log and would have replaced myself if Id have had one with me...definitely a favorite this one...cheers V.
Ow, such a great job, well done!
During a hunting in the end of the day, for specific caches, found this one. Left a waterproof paper logbook as the one there was completely destroyed.

Hmmm!!! Not too sure about this one. Sure was a scary BUZZZZZZ to find the logbook. Glad to have signed it off my list as I usually don't touch things that Buzzzzzzzz!!!
#810. I came over this way about a week ago, on a mission to find caches with lots of favourite points. I had read the description and I was all prepared, I was wearing my hi-viz and everything. I looked very official and like I was supposed to be there.
So I looked around everything, found a bunch of power-related stuff, looked at everything closely, but couldn't work out what I was supposed to be finding. So I took a photo of a few things, in preparation to maybe email a previous finder or two.
But I thought, no, I'm not going to ask for help. And on the drive back to work I thought about which of the objects was likely to be holding the cache and thought there's only really one place it could be.
So I came back tonight under cover of darkness, and proceeded to look where I thought the cache would be. But still, I came up empty handed. Interesting. I retreated back to the car, and read through every previous log. I was sure I was in the right place. So I went back, and tried a bit harder, and success, there it was!
Very nicely constructed. The log was disintegrating into several small pieces. I put in an additional piece of paper - hope that's okay!
Thanks for the cache!

Wasn't sure at first what we were suppose to be looking for. Then came the aha moment. Dot wasn't sure I had the right thing. Lol. Relieved when the cache revealed itself. Tftc
After reading some of the previous logs, I was pleased to have a previous finder with me whilst finding this shocking cache today. The bison was quickly located, but the log is very fragile and needs replacing. Thank you for all your effort in creating this cache.
Ach well. Reading previous logs was a must in my case. Yes ,,, started at silver box first .... Nice one. Well done!
Finally getting round to logging these. Michaelteacher, mee_mi and I decided to do an afternoon of caching together so headed out to Greenhithe. Lovely weather it was!
Always wary with power-related caches but this one stood out and we could tell that it wasn't dangerous to retrieve. All in good condition. Tftc

I can see why some cachers would be shocked at this cache and complain, but I enjoyed it. Once we got to a certain point in our search it was a fairly straightforward matter. This must have taken some effort to put together. Thanks!
With the Metservice informing us we were due for a sunny Saturday, hayleyfcy, michaelteacher and I decided to turn a couple of North Shore caches into smilies. After meeting nearby in Glenfield, we decided to do a bit of a loop through Greenhithe.
Reading between the lines on previous logs had hayleyfcy and I at GZ pretty quickly. She had a little more strength to get things moving and with some experience up her sleeve, knew we were onto something. After my poor attempt at the next step in rubber gloved hand, michaelteacher had a bit more of a gung-ho attitude to get to where we needed to be. Log signed, all in order. Huge amount of effort on this one! TFTC

Today we wanted to visit a cache to show our friends visiting from Christchurch mmchim. This was ideal as mmchim's better half knows a thing or two about power and having things go bzzzzzz. mmchim clearly knows a thing or two about ignoring sensible advice and trusting her own judgement and found the cache and the log hiding away.
Clearly much effort has gone into making this cache, thanks very much for your effort. All fine here.

Tuolei kindly showed us around parts of Auckland we hadn’t been to before. This was the last stop of the caching tour and it sure did have a buzzing feeling. Excellent cache!
After finding one of this CO's well-engineered caches yesterday, I was keen to find another. With my family out of town, it was an ideal opportunity to tackle this "dangerous" one, so I found myself in Greenhithe after work again. As expected: brilliant! Thanks!
Located the cache at the end. I over complicated the locating of the log a bit though so I spent more time here Nice camo. TFTC
Out and about to get to 500 points for the planet souvenirs. We'd been here before early on in our caching days, but didn't know where to start. Back today as we needed to find a cache with more than 10 favourites for max points. Sat about reading some previous logs whilst ruling out several possible locations. Decided upon something specific but was a bit worried, but in we went and eventually found the log. Clever hide and worth all the favourite points, thanks
After some serious searching we dived in and found it! Excellent camo!!!! Forgot a pen so we will sign at a different date.
We approached GZ and after a search of the obvious turned up nothing the search area was expanded.
An object attracted Mr NZT's eye (Mr NZT has electrical experience) and this was further explored. Mrs NZT however was VERY NERVOUS especially when further investigation revealed a potentially dangerous situation.
DONT YOU DARE were her words!!!!!!!!!! Who ever listens to their wives?????
In Mr NZT dived and sure enough the cache was revealed. Mrs NZT was then busily messaging our other caching friends stating that Mr NZT had lost his mind and was to far addicted to caching and what could they do to persuade him to stop this foolishness!!!!
After signing and returning the cache Mrs NZT cooled a little and we both agreed this was an awesome cache well deserving a fav point!

Out in the area with KiwifruitsNZ to enjoy a delicious brunch, we decided to head out for a little walk and grab a couple of the caches nearby. The cache description left us feeling a little apprehensive as we approached GZ, but the cache was quickly located and we thought it was pretty cleverly done! Very cool, thanks for the hide. +1 favourite point
Back on the geocaching trail!

Had a good idea where this was but was hesitant to go there. Double checked previous logs and thought that must be it. Mr. B. took the plunge and lived to tell the tale (and sign the log) LOL. Clever little hide, TFTC
Been past here a couple of times before, but decided today I was going to have a go.
Approached the GZ with a little trepidation, and read some more of the comments, before glancing up to see a cop car stopped opposite. Heart racing now I quietly walk down past the letter boxes and away in the other direction. I think he was just checking his phone, as he soon carries on his way.
So double back, and head over to the item that seems to stand out most. My hands shaking, fingers slippery, I struggle to open. Wipe my hands on t'shirt and eventually managed to open.
Well lets just say I'm still here to tell the tale, but had me going there for a bit.
My hands are still shaking even when I get back to the car, so if my writing is a bit shaky you'l know why, cheers gets a FP from me, TFTC.

#311. This has been on my radar for a while, wondering what it could all be about. My wife had to make a delivery nearby in Greenhithe, so I took the chance to make today the day. Like previous finders, I was distracted by another object that looked out of place and could have involved doing what the hint described. I read some more logs and was steered in the right direction. A very 'genuine' looking hide that kept me wondering til almost the end. Not one for kids, that's for sure. A lot of effort went into that one, so it deserves an FP. TFTC.
Had been to this most excellent hide before but had always been distracted by the big green monster. Today, the Geo-sense was on full and I went straight to this little scary monster. Opened it as per but didn't want to go any further because, to be honest, this is one of my personal fears. So I closed it and took a foto that I was gonna email to a previous finder and find out if this was it. Then I thought, "nah, bugger it, cache hard or go home" so I examined it further (as per) and got that "a-ha" moment and not that "BZZZZZZZZZ" moment. Thank God for that!!! Love your work, thanks for the extra heart-beats, gets an FP from me.

For us this cache was a park and grab, it was quick, it was easy, it certainly was exciting and we LOVED it! Yes we can see how some geocachers out there may not like this type of cache but not every cache has to be found by everyone, we wanted to find this one and can see the time and effort put into it so that is why we are giving it a fp (: it was only quick and easy because from past logs we had a good idea of what it was and what it wasn't, and as it turned out, Mr NZWasher walked straight to gz and started twisting. Yes we had the usual conversation about how far we would go for a cache but well no bzzzzzzzz here (: Thank you again!
This was been on my to-do list for quite awhile. Today I decided to go and find the few remaining caches in Greenhithe that I still had to find. I found what I thought would be the cache, but struggled to open twist the top. I took another look around to re-evaluate whether I was correct in my assumption or not. I returned to GZ and with a determined effort managed to remove the top. Staring down, I began to doubt myself. Is this it, or not? I saw something which made be think I had the right location, but since I was by myself and had no one around to call an ambulance if I did manage to electrocute myself, I used to PAF option to confirm my suspicions. Sure enough I was right, so that gave me the gave to dive right in and extract the cache. This well designed, clever cache sure had me going. A FP for making me doubt myself and my geosense
Hahha good one..

I've looked at this cache often but have been reluctant to come and look for it on my own. I was out with Bertie today and she suggested we try so off we went. Of course the rain started coming down again as we got there so we hoped for a quick find, which we did do, but was it really the cache? Mmm, shall we look closer... Bertie was the brave one who decided to investigate further while I was secretly crossing fingers she wouldn't electrocute herself, water and power don't really mix well! Whew, yes it was the cache, though it took us a few more minutes to find the log. Thanks for a buzzy experience. Brilliant camo well deserving of a fp
Merlot & I braved a wet blustery Auckland afternoon, to come & check out what all the buzz was about...and were not disappointed.
We hit upon the correct hiding spot fairly quickly - but it took us a little longer to work up enough courage to extricate the log! Excellent camo!

.my mate called me brave and reckless. Ring main unit buzzing and usually not a fan of utility locations but great cache camo
My buddy was keen to get this one and she had to do the work on it. I have to say I was a big nambie pambie but it buzzzed her out. An interesting hide thanks
Having read the clues and the previous logs made finding this cache not as difficult as we had thought.
Being an Electrical Engineer and a Geocacher, I had no trouble diving right in without any worries. There was a muggle who stopped for mail. I hope they didn't see too much. Signs should keep them at bay if they return. TFTC.
#10797. We were relieve when the cache retrieval efforts didn't result in a Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. A nicely engineered cache. TFTC.
Today we headed to Unsworth Heights and Greenhithe for exploration, caching and especially to find some solved puzzles. A mixed bag of success with 3 DNFs, though we were very happy to turn all five puzzles searched for into smiley faces.
It's amazing how we are conditioned to keep away from things like this so was not at all comfortable with delving deeper. Maybe a GC code or sticker could be stuck on the inside of the lid for nervous nellies like me?? What a lot of work has gone into this hide. Thanks for the effort, Trav007.

This could be a great thought experiment. Which geocachers would dare to overstep the bounds of socially constructed absolutisms... Fantastic camo and awesome cache!
Initially walked right past this cache today because of the difficulty rating and because of the people around walking dogs and attending the open house right next to it. So, a bit later I came back woth GAR and the car...hoping the car parked on the curb would give us a little cover. We read the description and logs carefully before getting out of the car and then made a quick find. Getting into ot was't easy, despite the technique given in the hint. Glad GAR was with me - not sure I could have gotten in otherwise. Very good camo. Pretty sure no mmuggle will ever 'muggle' this one! Thanks Trav007 for something a bit different - an FP for share daring.
Fortunately I know a little about this kind of thing so I was a little confident I was going to be okay! Nice work! Tftc!!
Second time at this cache.. being an electrician im always cautious of things like this but i figure what the hell. I had been looking in the right spot but just wasnt brave enough... this time i was tftc very well done. This will get a fav point from me!
Such a creative idea! This one is one of my favorites so far! Some brain power and some land power put together! Having a friend around could be a great idea and safety for this one!
After reading previous logs I had an idea of what to search for, and I spotted the hide straight away. I still could not believe how cool this cache is and how I had to overcome my fears to find it. Thanks for this very creative cache, and all the effort that has gone into making it.
Thank you kiwiscot19 for extra information about the hide

Came by this way earlier on a few caches ago but just as I was hovering around the transformers, a flamin' Real Estate woman pulled in the drive and sat there! Time to discreetly move on, so coming back here I spotted something of interest straight away, and I wasn't wrong. I did the required manoeuvres to open up and wasn't fooled by what I saw, nevertheless I was careful about what I did next to reveal the log - just in case! very clever workmanship Trav007, gets a fav from me.
Back again to retrieve the cache from suspected hiding location after reading previous logs. Followed the hint but no luck retrieving the micro cache. Twisted and pulled but unable to remove. Went and sat in the car and had a think. Checked out GPS and found I may actually be looking in the wrong place.
Quick find once my focus was on the correct spot. Had me thinking twice about removing the camo.
***Spoiler for safety reasons and to ensure as Geocachers we do no more damage***
No need to touch the large green power transformer units and the silver metal box that is attached. The lens of the light fitting has been damaged. Please do not try to remove the light fitting. The cache is some place else.

Well I got totally muggled here. Crouching down inspecting the power transformer units when a couple of the local property owners came down the driveway. They looked at me suspiciously and decided I did not belong here. As I did not look like I worked in the industry I ended up spilling the beans and introducing them to Geo-caching. Found what I believed was the hide but unable to remove the cache. Not 100% certain I was definitely on the right track so decided not to force the issue.
Upon reading other logs I have determined I had actually discovered the hide. Will revisit at some stage to claim the find. - Kiwi

Awesome! Thanks for the effort on the camo had log in hand and signed easily but then had to wait for some walking muggles to pass so I could rehide! TFTC, +Fav.

I came up to Auckland for a week - to catch up with everyone, but also working at the Auckland office of work for the week. About time though too, as I had last been in Auckland November last year! Oh how time flies!
Arranged with slieschke to meet up after work and go do a bunch of caching while up here!
Neat cache here!! Initially was looking in the wrong spot, but then got laughed at by slieschke, and told that what I was touching, was in fact real! - Oh - ok! Lol!
Awesome job on the camo

I came up to Auckland for a week - to catch up with everyone, but also working at the Auckland office of work for the week. About time though too, as I had last been in Auckland November last year! Oh how time flies!
Arranged with slieschke to meet up after work and go do a bunch of caching while up here!
Neat cache here!! Initially was looking in the wrong spot, but then got laughed at by slieschke, and told that what I was touching, was in fact real! - Oh - ok! Lol!
Awesome job on the camo

This is now at the top of my fav list, amazing how such a simple idea executed well, in the right location can make such an exciting cache! Bravo trev!
Found this while on a GC raid at Greenhithe with Ric . He actually sussed it out straightaway ....
What a surprising camo ......no bzzzzing today thank goodness , but a bit scary ...

Located while in the area, definitely something a little different and manages to fill a spot in the calendar

Hahaha, I didn't follow my GPSr to GZ and instead focused on something 5 metres away that wasn't the cache. Phoned a friend to confirm if my suspicions were correct and while waiting actually looked a bit further and spotted what I was sure actually was the cache. Oops. A quick extraction and sign, thankfully no muggles passed by as doing so. Thanks!
Oh my, after months of being eluded we finally had success. Perhaps it was the New Year excitement that spurred us on. Very much a case of looking, swallowing our nerves before following the suggestion of the hint. Brilliant cache! Gets a favourite point from us.
Before calling it a geocaching day I checked the area for special caches and this one came up. Could not resist to give it a try. Searched close to the green power thingy before my attended were given to the actual cache. Mh should I or should I not??? I gave it a try and yep that's the cache. Loved it. Gets a fav. TFTC and this highlight at the end of my day....
Day 4 of my trip to Auckland for the Mega event. Today was to be more about attending the Mega events and caching around Albany.
This cache ticked a few boxes so I decided to stop to see what the excitement was about. It didn't take to long to spot the cache hide but I did undertake a few cautionary checks just to make sure it really was harmless.
All is good.

TFTC. Day two of the Auckland MEGA arrived a bright and beautiful day. Off the play with my CHCH caching mates The Wanglers and karma reprint. This cache was one of the several we gathered today amongst lots of laughter and entertainment.
We called ourselves PWR PKT (power packet) for this weekend an anagram of our caching abbreviations and it seemed very right for this cache. We were entertained here for a wee while as we looked and discussed options. Lovely hide and a favorite vote from me.
Thanks Trav007 for placing this creative cache.

Met up with some cahing buddies, purdiepurdie and karma reprint (team PWR PKT) after a short 'nap'. Our plan was to get things collected to complete some challenges and the 'must do' Auckland caches. The plan was to take it 'easy' after our epic 600+ km drive yesterday. We met up in the morning to kick off MEGA and then headed out for some adventure we only did 200km today). I had DNFed this last Christmas and came back with a team! We spent too much time at the green box, not needed . PP had a fiddle and then when we changed focus the cache was plain to see, great job. Gets a fav from me bzzzzzzz alright.
Thanks for the cache.
